The OS without recovery CD recovery

Hi, I bought a laptop HP HDX18t with preinstalled Windows Vista Edition home premium. A few days back my OS crashed and I don't have any recovery CD. How can I return my Vista with product key that I received when I bought my laptop? I can directly download the software and use the key to retrieve my original Vista. Please suggest.

Hello

There is no download free and legal

How to reinstall Vista

Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

HP is normally press F11 at startup to start the recovery process

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

    Hello

You can find all the programs and drivers, which are the image recovery on your CD tools & utilities (maybe you need to create one program on the laptop for this). But on the operating system, you can get it for free use, if you buy from Microsoft.

It is no problem to install the operating system by yourself. But not all BONES are supported, Toshiba has not created the drivers of these BONES. All available drivers can be downloaded here:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com
under 'Support & downloads' - 'drivers download.

Here, you can also find the installation instructions, and it is best to follow the order of the facilities to avoid conflicts.

  • Restoration of the factory without recovery disks

    Hello

I bought a new laptop Sony Vaio VGN-AR870 in June 2008 and I enjoyed it a bit. It seems to me have succeeded to it bogged down and it works more slowly and more slowly and for a long time and I have remember how it is used to run when I bought it first of all I would like to restore it to factory settings and to give it another go, so to speak. I don't have recovery discs and I did everything when I got the laptop. How best should I go to this topic? My system restores are all set points in recent months, it is a step to go. Could I use a friends vista windows recovery disc and just manually install the drivers from the Vaio esupport site?

    Thanks for reading,

    Jordan

I had an old set of model V from Sony. Backstage staff showed me by pressing F10 continuously when you start will bring you to an option of restore factore. But keep in mind that he wiped out all of your memory.

I used to do once every two months and it has worked like a charm.

  • Win7 recovery without recovery disks

Being a little crazy I ignored the guests to "make the backup disks.

Ive deleted the original installation of windows 7 for windows 8, but after finding problems with some games of win8 I wish I could put win7 on it

My hard drive still has the recovery partition, but by pressing f11 at the bios screen does nothing

is there anyway to recover my pc to the original without recovery disks configuration?

    Hello:

If you are not willing or able to purchase recovery discs, you can reinstall windows 7 using this method, as long as you can read your 25-character windows product key 7:

If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

  • Satellite A100-999: the process of recovery (without recovery DVD/CD)?

    Hi all

Here is my GOAL: I want to reinstall the original Windows Vista as it was when we bought this laptop.

My PROBLEM: we never managed to create recovery DVDs (just after the purchase), always gave an error... today and to my surprise, I can't find any operating system recovery tool is...

    1. to the power of power off: I tried the button "0" (as read on the internet), but did nothing special...

2 - I tried then in the options menu (after F8 on reboot): FIX YOUR COMPUTER
Then (after choosing the Spanish language and the connection as a user), I tried to launch the WINDOWS RESTORE COMPLETE lo, but he said that no CD/DVD... (no current number with this = CD/DVD drive works fine)

3 - I then tried another interesting option: RECOVERY HHD (more or less like this, as I have in Spanish version)... Just a pop-up open (maybe on the DVD recovery) but without any touch of the process...

    More complicated now, isn't?

    4 INFO:
I could find the hidden partition and display it. It contains files and folders: a record 'source', 'boot.sdi"if I remember correctly... and maybe more...
=> I copied on a USB key and registered on a new DVD (and the image.iso of them as well) and repeat points 2 and 3 above, but nothing has changed... (the content of this DVD is read without problem on another laptop)

    => QUESTIONS:
-This folder and files (found in the hidden partition) means that the recovery is still here?
-Are there a special file.exe or the procedure to follow in order to be able to launch these files found?
(my ultimate last chance: order than the recovery CD of Toshiba, if it is still possible)

    Thanks in advance
    S.

    > I understand now that these files (hidden partition) are those used for the display of this special menu (after you click REPAIR MY COMPUTER) with the COMPLETE WINDOWS RESTORE, RECOVERY HHD...

    > Is that correct?

No, the small hidden partition is created by the Windows system, and these aren't the recovery disc files.
Toshiba Recovery disk files are placed (in general) on the D partition, it is not hidden.

    > So I guess I should have a COLLECTION case somewhere... but I read in some messages of this type of comment: 'the series A100 not fitted the HARD drive recovery partition ".

That could be just because the A100 is old series and drive HARD recovery was not available at the moment
As far as I know the series A200 and new series were equipped with recovery option.

    > If not available, I'm already so on this last-chance-step explained above? This means to order the DVD of recovery on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

Here is the link to the page where you can order a recovery for the EU Toshiba notebook disk series but I don't very well if you'll be able to order this disc don't due to the age of the laptop of m.

So I m thinking about restoring my laptop when I bought it first, but you know when I bought it, it doesn t come with any disk recovery so I put t know what to do.

Is knowledge how laptop computer recovery without a disk?

I am new to this problem
So please if you know how to do
Note please the specific details to show me how to

    Thank you!

    Hello!

First of all, you should check the user manual. There you can find all the details on how to recover a Toshiba laptop.

In any case, if your laptop came without recovery disk you can create one using the Toshiba recovery disc creator. That's why you need one or two DVDs and then you have factory on a DVD.
If you created the recovery disk, you can boot from it and follow the instructions on the screen. Windows will be reinstalled, and you get back to factory settings.

But you can also recovery a Toshiba laptop without recovery disk. So go to the F8 advanced boot menu and choose fix my computer. Now, you can choose the Toshiba Recovery option and follow the instructions on the screen.

If you have any other questions, you can search a bit in the forum. You will find a sufficient number of threads on the recovery procedure.
In addition, you must check this document:

  • How to recover the Satellite A100 without recovery disk

    Hi all

I'm trying to restore my laptop A100 settings * without * a restore CD via pressing a sequence of buttons during startup (which must launch the recovery on the hard drive partition).

It is really unfortunate, I know it can be done as I did before butI for the life of me forgotten what was this key sequence I can't find the article I stumbled initially on!

I've scoured the web looking for this key sequence and all the proposed solutions, I fell on do not seem to work.

    Unsuccessful attempts so far:
    -Press and hold 0 power
    -various suggest 'F' keys: F1, F8, F10
    -now the delete key

Note: I guess it may be worth mentioning that pressing F8 actually take me on-screen "start options advanced windows" but I don't have any recovery options.

Yeh Yes, I'd * extremely * grateful if someone could point me in the right direction here because it makes me crazy... the fact that I've done this before, it that much worse!

As I know the A100 series has not been fitted with the recovery of HARD drive partition!
And so I doubt that any combination of keys will start the partition recovery!

So you only chance to recover the laptop is to take the recovery disk, then boot from it.
You can also try to install the disk Microsoft Windows operating system and then could install the drivers of Toshiba on the pilot site of Toshiba!

  • NB500: How to use the DVD of recovery without a DVD player in the netbook?

    Background:

I have a 500 NB of Netbook that came with a Win7 Starter. I've upgraded to Win8 but doesn't like the wsn can't resolution screen high enough to open applications. The system became slower and slower like time, I decided to reset the device back to the original settings by using the Win8 function.

Progress in this process has been extremely slow and after seven hours (60% in fact) I had a scare that the content of my HARD disk can be copied somewhere on the web (cloud of NSA?  :)).

I turned off the unit and then nothing would no longer work. I bought the recovery software with WIN7 Starter of Toshiba Support that I couldn't find an ISO for WIN7 starter file, but it happened on a DVD...

    I have:
    + NB 500
    + Toshiba Recovery DVD
+ Bootable USB stick (I created this)
+ Product key for Win7 Starter

    Question:
What files are required to install Win7 from scratch (move files from DVD to the USB bootable)?
This procedure deletes old data from the HARD drive or will it take space?

    Concerning
    LS1 - d

It is not just that you think it is. As much as I know, you can't manipulate the data of recovery and work on your own boot media.

A better and easier way for you is to get somewhere external USB ODD and use for installation of recovery image. I NB520 and I bought external BD ODD and can use it for various actions such as the installation of the software for example.

I m wondering really you didn't create recovery USB drive. That was my first step after I bought this machine. Product key you have on the Microsoft sticker doesn't help. You can't use it for OS installation if you are using the version of the OS clean and you don t need it if you use original recovery image.
After the installation of recovery image pre-installed Windows version is correctly activated.
    > Will this procedure remove old data from the HARD drive or will it take space?
Yes. The whole HARD disc will be deleted so until you start with the installation of backup recovery image all your important data.

  • Cannot access the mode of recovery on iMac

    Hey guys,.

I tried to erase the partition I have on my IMac, but I have failed to do. In this process, I also lost my access to recovery mode (command + R while turning the mac, etc.). Is it possible to remove the partition without going through the recovery mode? I also can't seem to delete even one of the partitions on the IMac. I want a clean condition, and I have a backup of all my data in an external hard drive.

    Thank you

If your model came with Lion or more late pre-installed you can use Recovery Network:

Installation by own Mac OS X network

    1. Restart the computer. Immediately after the chime, press Command + Option + R until a globe appears.
    2. The Utility Menu appears in 5 to 20 minutes. Be patient.
    3. Select disk utility, then click on the continue button.
    4. When loading disk utility, select the drive (generally, the entry Out-bumpy) in the list aside.
    5. Click the Partition tab in the main window of disk utility. A panel will fall.
    6. Set the GUID partition scheme.
    7. Define the type of Format Mac OS extended (journaled).
    8. Click on the apply button, then click the fact when it is active.
    9. Quit disk utility and re-enter the Utility Menu.
    10. Select reinstall OS X and click on the continue button.
  • Qosmio F50 - the hard drive recovery?

    Hello

I had a very big problem.
I've made a few changes with my Vista regs and then I was unable to start again.
So, I started the recovery program (second HARD drive), backed up my files and selected whole HARD drive recovery.

Well, now problem - everything was going well, but when I walked into the Vista installation I had to shut down the computer.
Now, when I start up the pc and load Vista I message I need to reinstall my computer again.

Well, they say nothing about how load the recovery file but I have no option for this - only emergency mode, with the support of network, etc., but without recovery emergency. Moreover, when I select emergency mode, I can't load Vista-it says I need to run the Setup in normal mode, which told to re - install. Yep, circle-_-.

    Model: Qosmio F50

Do you think that when I erase all the Vista disc manually - for example with linux, and then start the computer, I get a possibility to load the second part of the drive to start the installation?

Thanks in advance because I'm really despair

    Hello

    > So, I started the recovery program (second HARD drive), backed up my files and selected whole HARD drive recovery.
    I'm a bit confused of m.
How do recover you the laptop?
Have you used the Toshiba HDD recovery option which could be launched by pressing F8, select fix my computer-> Toshiba Recovery?

Usually, it is a procedure how to start the Toshiba HDD recovery.

I guess you didn't create a recovery Toshiba drive in the past is good?
It was a big mistake buddy because the recovery disk would help you in difficult situations

Well, as I said above; You can try to start the HARD drive recovery. If this will not help you I think that you would need a Toshiba Recovery disk.
    You can order it here:

  • Instead of the wizard of recovery HARD drive recovery

    Dear all,

I would like to re - install the OS on my Satellite Pro T130 laptop without changing the partitions. This is possible with the http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R02.htm Recovery Wizard

However, when I boot my laptop with the Advanced Boot Menu (F8), I think the recovery menu of disk in the System Recovery Options, no recovery Wizard.

I tried to start this wizard by starting the computer with the button zero (0) at the top, but it did not work. I closed the windows, pushed and held 0, turned on my laptop, when Toshiba logo appeared I sill held the key zero and instead of the Recovery Wizard, open windows.

I tried at least 10 times and it's getting frustrating.

I bought this laptop in Hungary in 2010.
I was wondering that Toshiba offers the two (HDD Recovery + Recovery Wizard) on their laptops or older laptops recovery options came with only HDD Recovery?

If the start procedure with the zero key does not work, what can I do?

In addition, I understand the difference between HARD drive recovery and Recovery Wizard is as follows: (please, correct me if I'm wrong)

HARD drive recovery is re-definition of the manufacturer State which means that it removes all the data in each partition. When you turn on the laptop first time computer, a wizard will appear so you can partition the hard drive. As out-of-box + customization option in the Recovery Wizard.

Recovery Wizard has three options: out of area (described previously), customization of partitions and recovery without changing the hard drive partitions. I want to use this option, so will not delete all the data of the first partition of the hard disk (drive C). Is no data on other partitions like D, E (etc.) readers.

    Am I wrong?

    Thank you for your answers,

    Kind regards

    Hello

According to the specifications of the laptop this Satellite Pro was offered with the version preinstalled Win7 and Windows XP Home edition recovery DVDs. Win7 preloaded includes preinstalled Toshiba recovery disc creator tool so the laptop owner can create recovery (bootable USB key) media which includes the original image of recovery for Win7. This bootable USB key can be used for recovery image installation if there is a problem with the installation of HARD drive recovery.

As I see you have a problem with the installation of HARD drive recovery, so my question is: did you create this recovery media? You, and you can use it for installing Win7?
    > However, when I boot my laptop with the Advanced Boot Menu (F8), I only find the recovery menu of disk in the System Recovery Options, no recovery Wizard.
Toshiba HDD Recovery option in the system recovery options will be available if phone has settings to factory only.
    > I tried to start this wizard by starting the computer with the button zero (0) at the top, but it did not work. I closed the windows, pushed and held 0, turned on my laptop, when Toshiba logo appeared I sill held the key zero and instead of the Recovery Wizard, open windows.
Why don't you use zero to startup? Where did you find the description that you use NRA to launch the installation of HARD drive recovery? I can see in the document validated by Toshiba, you need to use F8 only. When you use F8 and enter advanced startup options is option fix my computer available or not?
    > I asked Toshiba offers the two (HDD Recovery + Recovery Wizard) of the recovery options on their laptops or older laptops with single HDD Recovery?
All portable Toshiba offered with Win7 preinstalled have Toshiba HDD recovery option but only if they have the factory settings. If the owner of the laptop installation version of the OS option no longer available. In this case, you can install original recovery image using recovery media created.

From my experience, you should only use the out-of-box option. Be careful with the other options. Recover a custom size partition may lose all the data and recovery image too.

More important is: you have a recovery (USB or DVD) media or not?

    Hello...

    I have a Toshiba Satellite L755 - 16L.
I want to re - install windows 7, but recovery option will erase everything... I don t want to use it, I saw a key at the bottom of the laptop for win 7, saying it is oa mea?

So is there a way that I could do without clear all.

    Hello

    Please visit http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R01.htm
You will find all the HARD drive recovery facility information and accurate information which will be deleted exactly (see Note).

Product key down means that you bought laptop with preinstalled OS and valid license. This key belongs to the version of the OS preinstalled. Don t think you can use it for the activation of the operating system if you try to install the version of the OS using the Microsoft installation disc.

    > So is there a way that I could do without clear all.
I put t know what do you mean under everything.
If you want to have own pre-installed OS still best option for you is to back up all important data on external device and after installing the OS, you can copy it to computer s portable HARD drive.
