The power I need a UPS (battery backup) to be?

I want to buy an inverter to power my computer, Verizon fios router cable and my netgear router wifi through flash or small failure (10 minutes or less)

Record WiFi router:
Router Netgear n150 wireless n
Modem card
Actiontec Verizon fios modem cable Internet
Specifications of the computer:
Gateway 500 x (I've updated parts)
Processor: Pentium 4 2.4 ghz
Hard drive: Western digital 80 GB of 7200 RPM
GPU: ATI Radeon X 850 pro 256 MB
DVD-ROM drive
POWER 400 watt PSU
OS: XP Home sp3
I have computer logging of my weather sensors data, so it needs through a Flash power or very short breakdown.  Weather logging does not use a lot of system resources, so the CPU works only to the use of 10 to 50% and the GPU works 0% usage, so I know that it uses not all 400watts POWER supply can provide.  Please tell me how I need to GO (Volt-Amperes).

You can buy APC - UPS ES-500 500 / 600VA. 500VA enough. It has 3 plug for battery operation when a failure occurs. There plug your devices 3 priority such as CPU, monitor or whatever you have there. It has also 1 socket for surge protection.

  • MS A30 - battery charging when I plug in the power cable

    Hello

I'm having some problems with (I think) on my A30 power management utility. When I am running on battery power and I plug in the power cable, the battery continues to discharge even if the laptop 'knows' that it runs on the power grid (ie the utility says "current generator: alternating current.") "Online, discharges: 82%. Strangely, if I put the laptop in mode 'sleep', then resume, she goes back to normal (i.e. working on current alternative, the battery charges).

It is true, I think that this began after I installed "PC Pitstop optimize Scan" www.pcpitstop.com (please, not conferences - I used a couple of their public services before and they were very good, so I thought it would be too much), so I guess it's some sort of configuration problem, but I have no idea where to go from here. I went through all the options on the power management utility, but they all look sensitive. Any ideas (other than do not install software stupid, doubtful)?

    Kenny

    Hi Kenny,

I experienced this behavior on my A30 where the system says it works on current alternative, but still drains the battery and stops eventually.

In my case the problem has proved to be a loose DC Jack that sometimes cuts off contact with the socket on the back of the laptop. This momentary loss of power DC seems to provoke the power management utility switch to battery power, even though the DC power is restored. The only way out of this situation is to Hibernate / restarting the laptop.

I think that it is a problem with the power supply subsystem in the laptop that does not react properly when it encounters a momentary loss of DC. Then the Toshiba power management utility is no longer responds correctly and switches to the battery power.

My only solution to this was to anchor the DC cable to the back of my A30 so that there is now no chance of the plug DC moving in its socket. This has proved to be very effective for my A30 and I've had no recurrence of the problem.

  • Satellite A30 213: broken in the power supply pin

I have so many problems with this.
I'd rather put it in the trash than to fix it, but unfortunately I have important documents that I have not saved.

Basically, the PIN into the Jack of the laptop is broken and I can't be able to my laptop and my battery is running out of power

    The battery is in the battery-compatible A30 - 213 in the A30 714?

    And someone has other solutions?

Please answer as soon as possible

    Hello

First of all a few words about the battery.
If I m not wrong not the Satellite A30 213 uses the same battery as the A30-714.
Therefore, you should be able to use the same battery in both units A30.

With regard to the question on another solution.
Well, there is only one real solution. The power supply needs to be replaced.
I m not sure if it s only plugged or soldered on the map. However, I recommend you contact the ASP in your country for assistance.
This should be always replaced by a mobile technician because the dismantling procedure is very delicate and difficult.

    Best regards and good luck

  • Shift of the computer; It seems that my laptop is lagging when it is connected to the power supply (AC adapter) and it works perfectly fine when it is NOT connected to the power adapter. Can someone help or diagnose the problem?

This shift of computer thing had never happened before until about a week ago. The shift comes every 30 seconds or more and it occurs also when I switch between applications.

    Hello

I saw this kinds of problems occur with the power strips and even UPS systems. And some similar questions have
been solved using them actually, especially the UPS. If the power strip has important circuit protection
He'll probably bad or you have very low power at first on this AC circuit.

Solution is not to use the tape and maybe get a UPS with brown-out solution.

    I hope this helps.

  • Makes 32-bit is better for the battery backup?

Original title: I got windows 7 32-bit professional to give above 4 hrs battery backup. And now I have installed the 64-bit but backup is about 3 hours. Makes 32-bit is better for the battery backup?

Don't really know why it happened then... Should I switch to 32 bit? What is the best?

There should be no significant difference in energy between 32-bit and 64-bit, you will need to check your settings of power and performance.

As for which is better, it depends on two basic points. 1 do you really use all that needs or benefits of 64 bit, not a lot of programs don't. Second, how much memory is installed. 32 bit is limited to 4 GB native but about 3.2 GB of technical limit. However, 64-bit requires more memory base so in fact will help only if you have more than 4 GB

  • Need to find the cmos on Satellite Pro 2100 battery

I have a laptop that is not keep date/time settings and I need to identify the laptop to find the correct instructions to take apart.

The brand is a Satellite Pro SP2100, model PS210E006P9-EN number, but I can't find this brand/model on the Toshiba site. The closest I can find is Satellite 2400-103, part number: PS240 - T 014, 1, that seems identical.

I tried to use the identify tool of Toshiba to detect what is the laptop, but that fails to provide results.

I also need to find out what food is for this unit as the current is defective and exposed wires.

The adapter of current with her is PA3201U-1ACA, the problem is that this card has another card on the end to fit the power plug to the back of the laptop. The connector at the end of PA3201U is too thin to fit.

    Hello

This laptop is very old and the name of this machine is: Satellite Pro 2100 PS210E

    > I have a laptop that is not keep date/time settings and I need to identify the laptop to find the correct instructions to take apart.

Usually the CMOS battery can be charged. You must connect the power adapter and the laptop must be powered for about 12-14 hours.

There is no problem when I start upward when it is connected to an electrical outlet.
Battery is fully charged and computer will work off the battery voltage if I remove AC after boootup

    Any suggestions?

  • After a minute to the power of the battery turns off my Satellite 1400

Hello! I need your help! Whenever I go to the power of the battery, all of a sudden, a minute later, my laptop turns off without reason! The battery is fully charged. What do you think is the problem? My laptop is 4 years old.
    It is a Satellite 1400.
    Thank you very much!

    Hi Krissy

In my opinion, everything that happens has a reason any. From your description, I think that the battery is at the end and should be replaced.

It may be that the battery is full, but there is not enough power. I have a similar problem with Tecra 9000. Unit is also about 4 years. On battery it maybe rolls 10 minutes but after that this time he switched down suddenly.

  • Satellite Pro L20: battery not charge when the power adapter is connected

    Hello

    all advice appreciated.

I had a Satellite Pro L20 for about 18 months. Recently, battery does not charge when the power adapter is connected. The battery light starts yellow (which means more liberated, I think?), then will both green, the machine sat for awhile. However the ACPI often said that AC is "offline."

There are two recent occurrences that coincide with this problem, I try to eliminate:

    1. my friends rat chewed by the feeder for pets! Power is Mobile OK insofar as he fled sector - the rat seems to have simply chewed by the outer cover (I see some threads, but I think that is just a shield, although I'm not an electrician).

    2. I put the laptop in hibernation for the first time. That seemed to mess up the system a bit, which was what initially drew my attention to the problem. This question is a bit complicated because I'm under Linux (Xubuntu).

I updated the drivers etc from windows when I bought the laptop. Never had any problems until now and have been running linux for centuries. Also, I have mainly the laptop the power supply turned off, but do not remove the battery (is that really a problem these days?)

I obviously need to replace the adapter, but is - it is likely (and how I can check) that the battery was borked until?

    see you soon
    Chris

First, please check if the other are lit.
If the AC led and power led are on the adapter sector is ok and it provides the power to the laptop.

    > The battery light starts yellow (which means more liberated, I think?), then will both green, the machine sat for awhile
If the battery LED is yellow, this means that the battery is not fully charged and if the Green led changes then recharging is caught and the battery has been recharged.

So I really don t see any problems with the charge process.

Maybe the battery is old and so you cannot use it for an extended in such a case only the replacement of the battery could help.

  • Satellite A200 - loses the battery, switch off the power

I have a relatively old Satellite A200, yet almost all inside is new except the battery. The battery has a very short life, but that's because its old. Recently the computer started to suddenly lose the battery, so the charge light stays on, the battery light turns off and the battery icon said "plugged in, not charging." However, the computer still work on battery power. If I see it at the time, then by removing and replacing the charger repeatedly, I can start it load again, but if I am not it switches off without warning. Since the battery life is now less than a minute which often.

I don't think that the problem is with the charger because it always shows the charger is plugged in, and when the computer is off the battery light is always on when it is plugged. I had a problem with the power connector, but if the motherboard was recently replaced so I don't think that's it either.

If someone could help it would save me a lot of frustration, thank you.

    Hello

At first, I must say that you should not be frustrated. Problems with consumer products are normal, and each of us has problems with laptops, televisions or other electronic product.

Let's see what you can do about it.
Your description is OK, but what I want to know is follow:
When you remove the battery can work on your laptop with no problems (start work, cut)?

I also think that the battery is too old and I presume it's troublemaker in the history. It is not easy to explain what behavior flashing if you have a defective hardware or old coin inside.

Maybe, you need to buy the replacement of the battery and check the features for laptop and the battery, just to see if everything will be OK again. If you will be faced with the same problem again then we can discuss what may be the problem.
In my opinion only a reason for this could be electronic power supply.

    What do you think?

    Hi there @emonsonjaya,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! It's a good place to find the help you need, so many other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff.

I understand that your notebook is turn on/off automatically when it is plugged. I'm happy to help you.

I would recommend that you look at your BIOS, especially in power options and check if your BIOS has a setting option on automatically. If yes it change at your convenience.  Another option would be to update your BIOS and see if that solves it.

Here is the page of support for your model and, if necessary, give it a try, it will automatically download the file if you click on the link. You then need to run the executable file of your current download folder.
