If it s a button or a power supply electronic problem, then you can't do anything.
In this case assistance by the technicians of laptop would be necessary.

    But the next time that you should try this option if the laptop turns on not;
Remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter from the laptop for about 30 min.

After this short period of time to reconnect the two parts and check if the laptop could start.

    Good luck

  • L50 - A satellite - state of the power supply is lit, but laptop will not start.

    Hello
A few months ago, I bought a new Toshiba laptop L50 - A Satellite. He worked incredibly in all directions until about a week ago when it lights. He has been connected to the charger with the charging light but does not illuminate. When I press the power button, the small ring of orange around the button light turns on and will be so all the LED lights on the front of the laptop, as well as I can hear the fan and other work items, but the screen remains black. This has been the case for a little over a week now and at random, two of the times I tried to power on my laptop, he turned on and working but then after that be cut, it wouldn't work again. He has not worked since 5 days and since then I tried to turn it on.

One of my friends who knows a thing or two suggested perhaps it was the display that was defective and should I try to connect it to my TV via a HDMI cable. This seemed logical, so I gave him a test in the hope that he'd at least let me know what was the problem, but no fixed image displayed anywhere.

My laptop is almost always connected to the charger and an expensive cooling fan, so I guess that battery and components must still work most of the time, and I've read that this laptop is designed so that you cannot remove the battery, but I do not know how to in any case.

I tried a few different methods to try to start it as now the Start button / stop and the ESC key for 10 seconds, now back while pressing the power button and pressing the power button while pressing F8 repeatedly. But none of them worked so far.

If anyone has any ideas or a way to help, that would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you, Julian.

    Hello

The L50 - A Satellite supports a stop (hole) switch located at the bottom of the unit.

Cell phone is freezing, do not start or has a power failure, which cannot be resolved by pressing the button for 10 seconds (force shutdown), please use stop force switch instead of the main battery.

During a stop by pressing this button force, the behavior of the system is identical to unplug the AC adapter and remove the main battery.

    More details here:

  • Toshiba NB550-111 - no connection if the LAN cable is more than 2 metres

    Hello

My newly purchased Toshiba NB550-111(Windows 7 Starter Service Pack 1) has problems with the LAN card.
If the LAN cable is more than 2 meters, no relation to Allied Telesyn switch (no indicator led on the switch, 2 other desktop computers already connected). I tried not to connect in a different port (one used previously by one of desktop computers), no connection. I tried with 3 cables, still no results.

Cables (cat5E, so important) have been tested OK before with a cable Tester, and I use both of them without any problem with another 2 desktop computers at home. I set another cable (5 m long, newly purchased) and tested for connectivity. It works very well with the other two offices, no results with the netbook. I tried with adapter it works, I disabled ' energy efficient ethernet "NIC, still no connection properties page. It only connects if the cable is less than 2 meters. I tried to connect the netbook directly to the DSL router, still no connection with a longer cable.

The device is reported by windows as work very well, and the test Toshiba utility ends there is no problem. Windows I configured in the Control Panel, the Plan balanced for maximum performance in the power options, still no results.
    Any ideas, please?

Now maybe stupid question but what is with WLAN? You don t want to use WLAN?

  • Cinema poster 30 '' Dead - could this be the power adapter?

    Monitor: Cinema Display 30 ''

Computer: Connected to a MacBook Pro mid 2012 of the retina with a 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB of RAM.

Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650 M 1024Mo

I got the screen of cinema since 2007. Used with a tower for the first five years, replaced the tower with a MacBook Pro in 2012. The CD went with the laptop using a bolt of lightning > DVI adapter for about 3.5 years, worked ok. Finally, the Cinema Display monitor everything went black. The LED in the corner is always on when powered. I can still use the power on the CD button to turn the monitor on/off, standby system etc. the MBP still sees the CD in monitors when the adapter is plugged. The CD can still push USB devices. But there is no picture, no matter what I do.

Finally carried the old tower outside and connected to it, just to see if it was something with the MBP the CD. Same results, no image.

I noticed that the power adapter brick remains cold. If it's just that bad, and I could replace it for a relatively low cost? I see the price of $150/200 on Amazon. Don't want to waste his time with that much more, it's a 9 year old monitor. But I really loved and I want to see if I can get pulled upward again.

    Thank you.

Looks like either the back lit display is on the way out (you can tell if the monitor is nothing display by shine a very bright light until the front screen and see if you notice any displayed video), or the display is not simply detect the output signal of your GeForce card. I have a NVidia GTX 770 and one of my 3 cinema Display is sometimes the same thing. I end up having to unplug the screen for a few seconds, use WIndows to detect the display, plug the monitor back in and detect the display again to get any video to show on screen. It is intermittent but sometimes quite stubborn. Good luck! If you have two monitors, you can use work to see whether or not your cinema is even detected. If it is, but the screen is always black, it is likely, that you will need the spare parts for backlight.

  • Pavilion m6 - stop suddenly and mystery of the power cord

    Hi people,

I got a very strange problem with my laptop from m6-1035dx Pavilion the past two days. This is a reconditioned unit and have had some problems with it in the past (both hardware and software-related) that I managed to fix me, but this one left me speechless.

It started yesterday when the computer was placed on a bed (with a CoolerMaster pad below, which I almost never separate the portable device) and immediately turn off the power. In the past, I had problems with heat stops, that I solved with a bit of air in canned and CoolerMaster pad said, so I don't think much. But the same thing happened today, and I noticed that when it has restarted, it does not recognize the fact that the computer is plugged in. Unplugged the cord/AC converter to three points (computer, converter, wall) and tried again, still nothing. Tried another outlet, blew the vents, power off and removed/re-inserted battery, still no recognition of the power. I reinstalled HP CoolSense (which I had removed several months before) and hope that would take care of things. Meanwhile, I shut the computer off again, and the LED power indicator lit on its own.

Several hours later, the computer was reactivated and placed on a flat surface. Someone tripping over the cord, and the computer turns off again. The LED power indicator is out once more, so I unplugged the power cord and left for a few minutes. Blocked again, and the power was back.

I am reasonably confident that I should replace the power cord at this point, but I want expert advice before I commit the money that him. It may also be interesting to note that while the power cord did not work, the battery (92%) had about two hours and six minutes of use remaining, which is well below the advertised battery capacity (to be noted that only Chrome was running at the time) and what I saw of the battery in the past. I think that the cable or converter can be shorted, then is it safe to use the computer at all? Wouldn't be a good idea to replace the battery as well? I will provide any other details if necessary and thank you in advance for any help or advice.

    Hi maestro35,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the Forums of HP, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I understand that you are having feeding problems with your Pavilion m6. I'll be happy to help you with this. If it is running with the battery, I wouldn't worry about the replacement of the battery quite yet. As for the fact that it gives you less time announced that it could be the mere fact that the battery life decreases over time. You don't mention your operating system, this is why I have included two links below which will allow you to test and calibrate the battery. This will confirm that the battery is working properly.

Test and calibrate the battery (Windows 7)

Test and calibrate the battery (Windows 8)

I agree that it appears as if the power cord is the question. If you have a similar cord, you might give it a try to see, but there's a chance it might be the prospects of power supply for laptop. If something is shorted, then you shouldn't really use the laptop but without testing actually physically we will not be able to determine if something is put in short circuit.

    Thank you
