Hello
· Why are you trying to clear the ARP cache?
· Is your computer connected to the network?
· Have you run on the computer network diagnostic tool?
· You receive an error message or error with the same code?

Over the past three weeks, the download speed on my WCG200 wireless has fallen below 800, giving me results generally in the range of 500, but as low as 157 and 14. I went to the wireless network connection status screen, click the support tab and use the repair feature, but I received an error message on the clearing the ARP cache. I tried a reboot, but I still get the same message. I use XP. Any ideas on how to solve this problem? Thank you.
Click Start, then click Run... Type cmd, and then click ok. You will see a command prompt screen... Here you must type this command exactly as it appears...

Change the time-out for ARP cache on vSphere 5.1?
Hello
Does anyone know how to change the expiration time of the cache ARP on ESXi hosts? We have a few problems with vMotion and it seems that the default ARP cache is set to 20 minutes while it is set to 5 minutes on our Cisco switches.
Any ideas where to look?
The routing table in ESXi with has priority over what you have configured in your trade.
It wasn't a problem in ESX as the Service Console and vmkernel had their own separate routing table to deal with...
And I do not think that ICMP will reveal such a question... Ping'in so may seem very well...
Try to configure your vMotion vmk interface with a different subnet and Im sure its all good...

Time-out for ARP cache on Cisco routers
Hello
I was reading a book on Cisco routers, in which the author said: "the router resets the age ARP meter to zero whenever he sees valid traffic from the corresponding device.» This ensures that the addresses of active devices are never emptied in the cache, regardless of how long they have been known. »
I'm really surprised at this topic because I always thought the age counter ARP was an absolute of the meter and not compared to the last time a package was seen coming from the corresponding IP address. After reading this, I did a few tests that tend to confirm the age counter ARP is absolute and that he cares not if we have movement active in the corresponding period of INQUIRY or not.
: Question 1 can someone confirm this please?
I am unable to find clear statements in the Cisco documentation.
QUESTION 2: when the router sends a new ARP request?
For example, when the time-out of the ARP is 4 hours or 240 minutes (default value of Cisco), the router sends an ARP request reaching 239 minutes (1 minute before the expiration time). This value is a fixed (send us a 1 minute before aging ARP request) or is it a relative value (x % of the value of timeout)?
Thanks for your help.
Sam
I have some additional information that might help. I found an ad of a Cisco engineer, which gives some information about the behavior of ARP in Cisco IOS. He said clearly (and is an example) that if Cisco receives an ARP to a host request it will use this request to refresh the ARP entry and reset the timer so that the entrance without making its own application ARP. Maybe that's the behavior they were trying to talk in the IOS Cookbook.
It also speaks to a unicast ARP request 60 seconds before the expiration of the entry so that the entry can be updated. It does not specifically say, but I think that this interval is fixed.
Here is the link if you want to see the details:
http://puck.nether.NET/pipermail/Cisco-NSP/2005-February/017400.html
Regarding the error in the book, I worked as an examiner on a few pounds and can tell you that the authors and reviewers are working hard to do the right thing. But sometimes mistakes are not captured and appear in the publication. With the amount of detail covered in the book some mistakes are bound to crawl through.

Application of LSI 9260-4i cache size
Hello
Running a Cisco UCS C - 200, I noticed the reports as 349 MB cache size but I was under the impression that it should be 512 MB
This normal?
Hello
The number displayed under the MMIC is for the cache lines rather than the size of the global cache. If you SSH into the MMIC and run the following commands look for the size of the memory and it should say 512 MB for 9260-4i.

How to calculate input (value &; Key) in cache size?
Guys,
I see two different values when you try to calculate the size of an entry (key & value) object in the cache, you wonder which is correct
I <BINARY>Unit-Calculator< /Unit-Calculator> and untiFactor = 1
1. with the help of ExternalizableHelper
Serializer cache serializer = .getCacheService () .getSerializer ();
int entrySize = ExternalizableHelper. toBinary (tKey, serializer). length() + ExternalizableHelper. toBinary(tKey, serializer). length();
output entrySize = 130bytes
2 mark MBean JMX
< ObjectName > game names = mbeanServer.queryNames (new ObjectName ("consistency: type = Cache, service = *, name =" + cacheName + ", *"), null);
long totalUnits = 0;
for (name ObjectName: name) {}
Units of Integer = (integer) mbs.getAttribute (name, 'Units');
Integer unitFactor = (Integer) mbs.getAttribute (name, "UnitFactor");
Size of the integer = (units * unitFactor) / size;
}
output size = 240bytes...
So, ask yourself why there is a huge difference in the size returned by ExternalizableHelper and JMX Bean.
1. don't JMX MBean also add coherence an overload to the size of the entry?
2. which is the correct method for compensable size entry?
Thank you
D
Hello
Yes the BinaryCalculator is given overhead.

Fix the activation parameters for caching the results of the customer? No performance gain
I gathered and made every detail I could search. I use Oracle EE 11.2 g 32-bit on Windows 7 64 bit
But despite I activate client caching result, I see no difference response API despite I have remote, connect to the server on LAN 1Gbit network
I see > difference 1 sec only when you enable caching of server (2nd opening files 300% faster 57 dry-> 18 s) and 32 MB are cached for the opening.
I don't know how to see the client_result_cache except the network traffic, detours, IO
MEASURES_
* 1.* I activated the parameter setting Statement Caching on the client and dbhome and set it equal to my ora.ini file OPEN_CURSORS (300) the registry as possible. And rebooted the system, of course.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Wow6432Node > ORACLE > KEY_OraClient11g_home1 > OLED > StmtCacheSize
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Wow6432Node > ORACLE > KEY_OraDb11g_home1 > OLED > StmtCacheSize
-There is no standard oracle registry dir - probably cause its 64 bit +.
-* 2 I have Super-activated all relevant SYSTEM parameters. 3 X the size necessary to be cached, FORCED cach, 100% of the result, 600000ms lag(10min)
-------
client_result_cache_lag... large integer 600000

result_cache_max_size... big integer.100M-this is for caching wright + server
result_cache_mode... chain... FORCE
... full result_cache_remote_expiration... 30
session_cached_cursors... around... 50
-Is everything OK? Why not better time response then?
The LAN 1Gbit 1 customer is perhaps too fast anyway, and I should try via internet or something?
Hope that you have an idea, I can't search to find or think of something.As said by John, SQL * Plus does not implement caching the result to the client. You write an application for OIC (or another application that knows the OIC calls appropriate to make) that implements the setting cache the result of the customer.
Your test is behaving as expected.

If for some resolution reason reset does not help, try to do a system restore.
If you remember a date where the image of the screen was a good size, use this date as your restore point.

Transit VLAN on the PowerConnect 6224
I need help to sort out a problem with routing on a 6224 we have configured to act as a vlan transit for one of our branches. The general idea is 8.143 is the vlan of transit, of 8.144 is our PC LAN 8.145 will be our VOIP lan.
We have installed this switch with our WAN provided last week, but had to get out. Traffic seemed to happen to the WAN providers to our transit interface VLAN (172.22.143.254) wasn't going anywhere. It's symptoms
(1) we could ping from 172.22.144.x to 172.22.145.x and 172.22.143.x
(2) we could ping from 172.22.145.x to 172.22.143.x and 172.22.144.x
(3) we could ping from 172.22.143.x to 172.22.144.x and 172.22.145.x
(4) if I was plugged into the 6224 on with an address 143.x I could ping our remote control does site at 172.22.8.x no problem but not 144.x or 145.x
(5) 172.22.8.x, I couldn't ping 144.x or 145.x or 143.1 (I could ping 143.254 which is EXTENDED to suppliers to our switch network interface)
Here's the running to the switch configuration. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated:

It seems that port 1 must be in the VLAN 143, not general mode access mode. You already have a static route in place on the PowerConnect switch which directs traffic to the next break in the network. But it may be necessary for a place on the Cisco that allows to direct traffic to the PowerConnect switch.
Here is a good post to look through also.
