Application of LSI 9260-4i cache size

Hello

Running a Cisco UCS C - 200, I noticed the reports as 349 MB cache size but I was under the impression that it should be 512 MB

This normal?

Hello

The number displayed under the MMIC is for the cache lines rather than the size of the global cache. If you SSH into the MMIC and run the following commands look for the size of the memory and it should say 512 MB for 9260-4i.

    Hello

    On a C2100 with a LSI 9260-8i, what are the requirements for cache ssd work? I would add 2 SSDS (internally) to activate this feature, but I don't know if in addition the SSDS, I need nothing else, or if he is still supported on this server with the 9260-8i

    Thank you

    Asempris,

    I apologize, the C2100 does not support the Cachecade, which is the feature you describe using the SSD for the cache. You can also find more information on the C2100 here - http://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_cloud_products/poweredge-c2100_Owner%27s%20Manual_en-us.pdf

    Let me know how it goes.

    Can someone help me. If I can buy it. The Raid on the MB controller is very slow.

    I was out this slow pos. So I turned off and thought I update for better HD and keep only the raid controller.

  • Sensor storage LSI 9260-8i in ESX 5.5

    Hi all

    I recently bought a new RAID controller for my 5.5u2 ESXi host. I chose the LSI 9260-8i to cause the positive reviews, price and compatibility 5.5. The main objective of the new RAID controller was to add the visibility of table in ESXi "State of material" and to allow management from a virtual machine via the MegaRAID Storage Manager. I flashed the 9260 with the latest firmware and then installed 5.5u2. The LSI RAID controller was found and both my drives are available and work as expected.

    Unfortunately, I have none is a sensor of storage in the status tab of the hardware. I tried to installed the Legacy and native drivers as the latest SIGS, all found HERE. I had success the legacy driver update but PMI would not update.

    Please respond if you have an LSI 9260 with 5.5 ESXi. I'm curious in the storage sensor is visible to you.

    Thank you!

    What do you mean by "PMI would not be updated"? I've updated smis-provider with:

    # software esxcli vib install d ' / path/VMW-ESX-5.x.0-lsiprovider-500.04.V0.54-0004-offline_bundle-2395881.zip '.

    .. .and everything went well. After the reboot, I can see State of health in the Hardware tab.

    BTW, you have 5.5 ESXi, you probably use VMW-ESX-5.5.0-lsiprovider-500.04.V0.54-0004-2371726.zip, listed as a provider of PMI for 5.5.

    But have you tried the other one, VMW-ESX-5.x.0-lsiprovider-500.04.V0.54-0004-2395881.zip, for 5.x?

    And one more thing: your controller reports its health status at least using the tool (storcli, megacli)?

  • CalcLockBlock / Cache size setting

    Hi all

    We use OBI against one of our Essbase application. It works very well overall, but we get an intermittent error with a few reports of OBI, which reads:

    «The dynamic calc processor can not allocate more than the blocks of the heap [213].» The parameter CalcLockBlock is too low or the size of data cache setting is too low. Increase setting CalcLockBlock is the size of data cache setting and retry. "

    What would be your advice on this? Is there a way to calculate/guess the correct values for these parameters?

    Here are the parameters that we use:

    Database is in cache:

    Cache index setting 40960

    Cache data defining 45056 files

    Hiding of CATA defining 40960

    Essbase.cfg

    CLOCKBLOCKHIGH 3000

    CALCLOCKBLOCKDEFAULT 2000

    CALCLOCKBLOCKLOW 1000

    DYNCALCCACHEMAXSIZE [APP] 1500M

    Thank you in advance.

    Kind regards

    G.S.Feliu

    This has been discussed many times. It is usually not the lockblocks which is causing the problem, but rather the side cached data. (not enough space to adjust the number of blocks). You increase the data cache. You mention the cache data files, but you will see that it is not actually used. It gets only used if you have turned on direct i/o and it is not recommended to do

    Remember once you have changed the cache, you must stop and restart the application before it takes effect

  • local cache size does not

    I have configured high-units as 8192 for local cache but consistency removes all items from the cache.
    The cache (Cache5 - message-store) continues to grow until the application is short of memory. I saw more than 100'000 items from cache in the dump of the heap.

    Is something wrong with my consistency config file?

    Hi husbands,

    Enable JMX by following the instructions here: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18686_01/coh.37/e18682/jmx.htm

    This will allow you to see the sizes/node cache. Since you are using other caches that are not limited by the size probably that can be the problem.

    I hope this helps!

    See you soon,.

  • Launch the .exe application and initialize its position and size

    How can I use LabVIEW to launch an application .exe as on the keyboard of the screen and initialize its position and its size?

    I use the Windows XP system.

    I know that I can use Exec.vi system to launch an exe application and close it, but how do I control its position as the race in the corner up-right when it is launched?

    Hi RogerLu,

    You can use the victory (user32.dll) API to get the handle to the window. If you have the handle, you can move the window with the function 'moveWindow'.

  • Using the entire cache size two level

    I have a few questions on the use of the full size of two-level cache. First of all, I know that using it, it will significantly improve the performance of the computer. But there will be con him. I would like to know what are the disadvantages of the use of the maximum cache and how it will affect the computer. Thank you.

    The maximum cache will already be used by the processor. The Act of trying to manipulate the registry value is not the default setting of 256 KB are relevant maybe 10-15 years ago, but it is no longer relevant.

  • the cache size is too large

    Hi im trying the new version of bridge and other programs, but I have the problem with the cache cause is too big. its as deck copy in other formats, all my achievements, doc, pdf, videos, photos, etc. and I loose disk space available. How can I stop this process and make it cleaner? If I clean or cache videos its more pictures in this program in a few minutes from all the elders again.

    I have the same problem with adobe photoshop lightroom and elements

    Hello Claudio,.

    We released a new version of THE bridge bridge CC 2015 July 19, 2016. Please install from your application client creative cloud and check if the problem persists.

    If bridge CC 2015 does not appear under the applications Panel, click the gear icon and select 'Search app updates' or sign out and sign back to the creative cloud desktop application.

  • cache size to vCenter

    VirtualCenter.cachesize is '9223234584777600' display of vsphere webcleint > manage > setting > advanced setting. What that means, do we need to tune elsewhere

    Hi Faamin,

    There is no document or evidence which speaks of tuning to the top of the size of this cache. So I guess it is recommended to leave it as it is.

    Thank you

  • How to calculate input (value & Key) in cache size?

    Guys,

    I see two different values when you try to calculate the size of an entry (key & value) object in the cache, you wonder which is correct

    I <BINARY>Unit-Calculator< /Unit-Calculator> and untiFactor = 1

    1. with the help of ExternalizableHelper

    Serializer cache serializer = .getCacheService () .getSerializer ();

    int entrySize = ExternalizableHelper. toBinary (tKey, serializer). length() + ExternalizableHelper. toBinary(tKey, serializer). length();

    output entrySize = 130bytes

    2 mark MBean JMX

    < ObjectName > game names = mbeanServer.queryNames (new ObjectName ("consistency: type = Cache, service = *, name =" + cacheName + ", *"), null);

    long totalUnits = 0;

    for (name ObjectName: name) {}

    Units of Integer = (integer) mbs.getAttribute (name, 'Units');

    Integer unitFactor = (Integer) mbs.getAttribute (name, "UnitFactor");

    Size of the integer = (units * unitFactor) / size;

    }

    output size = 240bytes...

    So, ask yourself why there is a huge difference in the size returned by ExternalizableHelper and JMX Bean.

    1. don't JMX MBean also add coherence an overload to the size of the entry?

    2. which is the correct method for compensable size entry?

    Thank you

  • Application window does not retain the size

    I'm running a Windows 10 with the following Adobe CC machine. A few weeks ago I had to move temporarily from ports of entry on my monitor to DVI to HDMI. The max for the HDMI ground was lower than the DVI port. When I went to the DVI port, my Adobe apps keep opening up to a smaller dimension on the left side of the screen. I keep having to resize the app is no longer on the right side and I also have to make it bigger.

    Why the size of the window remembers in the registry?

    Is there a way to fix this?

  • My AIR application for the Google set has size more than 50 MB. What should do?

    I compile app with adt.

    Reduce the data rate of your audio files, or compress images more. If only it does not below 50 MB so that you can use a DONKEY to work with extension kits. See the following page:

    App Shop - zooom productions

    BTW, the limit is 50 MB, which means 52,428,800 bytes. You can get cases where you think you are more than 50 years, but you're not quite.

  • Tips for setting up of size of cache on Essbase on 64-bit server

    We use the 64-bit version of Essbase under 64 bit Win 2003 environment. Understand that the memory space of a 64-bit version is much more that the 32-bit version, needs to change the cache size setting to speed up the performance of the Essbase system?

    Currently we have 16 GB of RAM physical memory, and Essbase process only exhausted around 6 GB of RAM.

    Thanks in advance!

    Essbase 64 allows you to assign data cache and cache of data values greater than 4 GB with the command MEMSCALINGFACTOR in the Essbase.CFG file sizes

    Note: do not increase the caches if not unnecessary, as a starting point: Cache of Index (size of yours. IND) / data file Cache (the size of yours. PAGs) / data Cahe (0.125 you.) PAGs)

    Example: MEMSCALINGFACTOR appname dbname n

    If you have enough RAM and the requirements of IT applications... Take your complete aplucation to memory

    TEC. REF.:
    ----------
    Description
    When you run Essbase on 64-bit platforms, optimal data cache and data files cache parameters can be greater than 4 GB. Although you can specify parameters over 4 GB in Essbase customers, you can activate parameters more using the MEMSCALINGFACTOR configuration setting. When MEMSCALINGFACTOR is enabled, the cache settings are multiplied by the weighted sum, n. The values are the actual cache sizes used by Essbase.
    Notes
    The data cache and the cache of data files are put on the scale using the same factor.
