The screen is discolored on Satellite C series - cable GPU problem?

I installed flows at the start of the first question, since so I uninstalled flow and performed a system recovery to be double sure that the software of the laptop has been restored to its state before problem.

No luck, so I tried a diagnosis from you guys, I can understand if its something I can fix myself or should I hire someone to do it.

The laptop is only 3 months, so still under warranty but as I do not have the receipt I don't know if I can claim the guarantee.

The screen of my computer no longer turns. It is supposed to run it any way, I flip the screen, I can not understand how to solve this problem. I guess a child (best case scenario) or my husband (worst case) have been involved in this. But it drives me crazy. Any ideas on how to get that back in action?

What is the brand and model of the computer?

Were there recent changes made on the computer before the show?

This issue could be due to corrupted graphics cards drivers. I suggest you to update the latest version of the drivers of graphics from the manufacturer's Web site and check if it helps.

  • Questions from the screen and keyboard on Satellite R830-181

    Hello

    I had exactly the same problem with it;
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?MessageID=280934

I also explained what is it and how it over time in this topic.

To sum up; my screen and keyboard do not work in my Toshiba Satellite R830-181, 13.3 '' laptop.

    My questions;
    1. is it a motherboard problem?

    2. as it runs on an external monitor, I guess that the graphics card or processor is fine.
There is no damage on the screen, so I guess there is a problem with the connection of the power supply to the screen.

If I buy a new screen I have my doubts it will work.

I'll probably send it to the service tech in my country (hard to find here reliable technology services Toshiba), however, I would like to know what may be the cause and if I can fix it myself.

What do you think guys? It is a power issue or a problem with the monitor itself?
If a power issue or something else rather than the screen, how can be fixed?
Same question applies to the keyboard.

    3. If I repair or fix myself, you think it will happen again? Because I think that this could be a faulty laptop computer of a certain series of production since someone else has experienced the same thing with this model.

can 4 - there be a relationship between the non-functional keyboard and screen?

    5. If this can be resolved with a replacement of the screen, that I need to find a laptop screen Toshiba R830 or I can buy any 13.3-inch screen?

As far as I know this model is not supported by the company more, so it is quite difficult to find a screen R830.
It is difficult to find a 13.3-inch screen, anyway, but still, if I can use the screen of another model which would ease my problems.

I need an idea on that.
    Thanks :)

    > 1 - is it a motherboard problem?
Not easy to say: If the external monitor works correctly then this isn't problem chart/motherboard.
The external USB keyboard works properly, if not motherboard problem too.

    > 2 - because it works on a monitor external I guess graphics card or processor is fine.
    Yes, that's correct.

    > If I buy a new screen I have my doubts it will work.
I do not recommend to buy the new parts before the defective parts has not been verified.

    > I'll probably send it to the service tech in my country (hard to find here reliable technology services Toshiba), however, I would like to know what may be the cause and if I can fix it myself.
Good idea to send it to Toshiba service partner since the guys would be able to control parts and fix it.

    > What do you think guys? It is a power issue or a problem with the monitor itself?
If a power issue or something else rather than the screen, how can be fixed?
    > Same question goes for the keyboard.

Don t think someone can tell exactly what's causing this according to me its just a bad luck material can start malfunction happens in every possible branch of industries (TV, computer, smartphone, cars)

can > 4 - there be a relationship between the non-functional keyboard and screen?
No, the keyboard is only connected to the motherboard, display is also connected to the motherboard, but there is no connection between the keyboard and the display.

  • Black screen turn on my Satellite C series

    Hi all

my laptop is around the age of 10 months. Recently, the screen seems off. Actually, what happens is that it becomes so weak, I don't see anything.

I connected to an external monitor and it displays the screen, so I guess there is no problem with the graphics card.

Is there something wrong with the inverter or backlight? The odd time that I tilt the screen of the laptop upwards or downwards, the screen will return or the odd time the screen will work again (out of the blue), but eventually fades to black again.

Any help or pointers is appreciated, thanks.

Yes, I think that there is a problem with FL inverter or the display.
But it depends on laptop model that you have purchased.
Either you have a laptop with screen backlight or without backlight. In this case, the backlight is controlled by inverter of FL.

From my point of few in both cases, replace the defective part in order to solve this problem.

The laptop is 10 months old and so the warranty should still be valid.
Don t try to solve this problem from your own hand, but get in touch of service provider authorized in your country for repair under warranty conditions.

  • The screen is blank and Satellite L45-S7423 don't start

I bought a notebook L45-S7423 Toshiba in January 08 and had no problems with it what so ever, until I tried to connect it to my TV Toshiba 37 ".
When I did so the tv display would start the laptop and when he got to the display of the desktop, wallpaper etc... It was only in black, so I went into the BIOS setup and choose one of the options (I can't remember which) to try to get a factory reset think that the laptop was not recognizing TV, then I don't know what happened.

When I turn the power on the screen is black and nothing happens, the CD/DVD drive lights and the power button lights up but monitor lights are dead, the hard drive light is also dead. The battery is charged (at least his indicator is green)
I tried to put the recovery disk in which I received with it but can not get something to happen, it just seems to be sitting dormant.

Is - this repairable or it of over or what can I do with that could sort.

Can someone help me get my new computer running again?

    Hello

Reading your post I thought that you simply switched the standard for external display view... and so you are not able to see anything on the screen of laptop computers... but to be honest, it's very strange because you should see the home Toshiba on the internal display screen and then the display should move to the external monitor or TV...

So finally, I think that it is a hardware problem... But it is really not easy to say what exactly is the problem... Maybe it's a misfortune and a dieda motherboard? ¦

If you are not able to boot from the recovery CD and the laptop does not answer, then you must contact the ASP in your country for assistance.

    Good bye

  • Replace the screen for one with a higher resolution on Satellite P850-12Z

    Hi all

I read a lot on the internet about the replacement of the screen on computers laptop toshiba and also I saw a video on [how to replace the screen for a Toshiba Satellite P855 | http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ncz3ZaI2I-s].

Is it possible to replace the screen for a Toshiba Satellite P850 12Z (original: 15.6"@1366x768) to another screen with a higher resolution (say: 15.6"@1920x1080 or 15.6"@1600x900)?

I'm sure that the graphics card is able to function perfectly with this screen (nVidia GeForce GT630M 2048 MB dedicated) and also I read a lot on laptop screen replacement, and I know that this screen has a connector 40 pin and it is an LED Panel, so I won't have to worry about the ups.

I found several screens (15.6"@1920x1080) who say they are compatible with Toshiba, but I wan't to make sure a higher resolution Panel replacement is possible.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hello

Exchange of the display is not supported by Toshiba, so I don't think that someone here can help you with this.
I assume that Toshiba offers multiple views for this model of laptop. Only seller is different but resolution 1366 x 768 is always the same as on the original laptop specification.

You can try to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. If someone can help you with that service of Toshiba. They have access to the database of Toshiba and can possibly tell if another view is usable on your machine.

    All this is quite complicated.

  • Satellite U920T - the screen goes black when you drag the keyboard

This morning, I turned on my U920T-10 days but the screen remained black.

At first, I thought the screen was broken, but in mode 'Tablet', the screen became. Now when I slide the keyboard the screen goes black again.

How can this problem be solved?

    Hello

For me, it looks like a bad connection somewhere between the screen and the motherboard.
This could be possible reason for failure to display while sliding in and out.

I guess this can be resolved easily and I think that it is a job for a technician (authorized service provider). I recommend you contact the service technician in your country to get the laptop fixed. I hope that the warranty is still valid in order to repair for free.

I hope that this can be corrected. I keep fingers crossed.

  • Satellite A60-122 - does boot and the screen has lines on it

    Hello!

I have a Toshiba A60-122 PSA60E model. Pentium 4 HT. 1 GB of memory, 80 GB hard drive. BIOS 1.7.

The problem is that it hangs on until the Windows XP logo appears, then the choice of Windows is displayed, I try safe mode, but does not work either.
And then decided to have a specific format but still the same problem, and even the recovery CD does not either.
I noticed that the screen has lines on the subject. Toshiba Logo appear when booting, you can see the columns of the row.

Can someone help with my problem? Any idea?
And by the way, I want to update my bios to 1.9, but the problem is that I can't find the traditional BIOS update on initialize to top.

    Thank you.

Do you have these lines of the screen on an external monitor too or only on the screen LCD internal?
It sounds like a hardware problem, but if you can determine if it s a LCD or motherboard problem. Check it!

And by the way, what do you mean if you say that it doesn't work? You can see something on the screen and you get a BSOD?

Maybe the problem is with the motherboard or HARD drive. You can test the HARD drive by using the Drive Fitness Test (Google is your friend).

  • Question about the picture of the screen on the Satellite M100-165

    Hello.

I have Toshiba M100-165 and I do not know is my bad screen. ?

I noticed that when I look on the screen and when a color is exposed and look more closely (for example gray) I don't see a color but I see only pixel everyone is on the same color. I see a little shade of that color on the screen. I think that this is not a problem of bad pixel or subpixel.
Imagine that my screen is a sand. And when I put for example a flat color on my screen, I can see that not all pixels are in the same color. Some of them are a bit more clear and other slightly more dark. It is a very small difference, but I see this difference. And I don't know what is normal thing or my matrix display is damaged in some way. ?

    Thank you for everything.

    B.

    Hello

Is perhaps a possible for your problem.
Go to the control system and the display used. Until the click Properties and check the display properties. Go to advanced and check the properties.
    Check the color management.
Go visit the Toshiba download of an update of your drivers.

  • When I open a new Word Document, it reduces in the taskbar at the bottom and when I maximize, she disappears to the left of the screen. What's wrong?

I open a new Microsoft Word Document, and it immediately reduced in the taskbar at the bottom of the screen. When I maximize the document, it "disappears" immediately to the left off the screen.
I'm having the same problems with the e-mails when I try to transfer or create new e-mail messages. They won't last long enough for me to write about them - they disappear from the screen.

Well maybe not related to your problem, I have to remind you that the version of Firefox you are using right now has been deleted and is no longer supported.
