The search in Vista for a document that contains the word or phrase

I have a computer running Win XP, and with its search function, I can look for a document by typing a few words that I know are in it.

I can't understand how to do this in Vista. Can someone tell me the answer?

Open a folder.
Click on "Organize", then "Options records and research."
Click on the tab "search". Under "what happens to research."
Always select "to the names of files search and content' or"in index locations, find the names of files and content, in locations not indexed, search file names only".
Click OK

    I tried to use the windows search option, but it only lets you search for a word or phrase in the content of the documents in a folder.  If you try to refine your search with a second term, the search is not limited to documents that contain the first word... already so you get just a bunch of documents, some of which contain the two words...

    I can't believe that this search option is not available in WORD.  In WP, I used to be easily able to search for one or more terms or expressions and was even able to specify when the words must appear in the same paragraph, line, etc., in all my documents WP...  This was very helpful.

    Is there a method I have used to locate the documents that I need in WORD? Thank you!

    Maybe I misunderstood, but for my W7 it seems to look up words in the same document, separated if I open "search programs and files" in the menu and enter something like:

    word1 word2 kind: = document

    There is also the 'GOLD' and 'AND' options that can help, then perhaps try:

    "word1 AND word2 kind: document = ' (without the quotation marks).

    Can you reverse your actions when you first made the changes, just go through the process and change everything to the original?
    Or you could do a System Restore.

  • Printing of documents that contain the letter and legal-size pages - Laserjet 600 M602

    We have a printer Laserjet 600 M602, that does not automatically select a tray to print every time someone tries to print a document that contains the letter so many pages of legal size.  The default printer for the Tray 1 (Manual power) and the user will have to walk over to the printer and the printer to select the correct tray.  I went in the printers settings via the web interface and I set the tray settings to the following: Tray 1 - any Type of Size/Any, bin 2 - letter/plain, plateau 3 - legal/Plain and it still does not print correctly.  Unfortunately for the printer settings, it was on that I'm comfortable doing.  I read the print driver may have changed, but we use the driver included with the disc and I guess that it would be sufficient that this driver.  Does anyone know of some setting that I might be able to change the printer or if it is indeed a print driver problem?  Any comments would be appreciated.

    I was able to receive help this morning from HP support.  He turns out, there were two things that I needed to change.  The first is that when printing from a pdf file, there is an option in the print area for "Choose paper according to the size of PDF page source" and the second thing, it was with the printer printing preferences.  In the printing preferences, under the "Printing shortcuts" tab, the paper Type has been set to Prepunched.  We changed this Unspecified.  After making these two changes, the user is able to print correctly in the printer.

  • InDesign, Illustrator, photoshop will not open documents that contain fonts

    None of the CC apps open a document that contains fonts. I can open the files in Illustrator and photoshop that did not all fonts in and I can start a new file in indesign, but as soon as I try to type a few words in the document, it crashes. I don't understand why his suddenly do what I did not update anything or loaded up new fonts.

    I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused.  Many of our customers have reported the same problem in Acrobat Reader ms and it's supposed to be fixed in the next update.

    As a work around you can use the read (Ctrl + H) mode option that displays only documents.

    That's what my friend had with his computer.  She must place an (/) between the words in order to show him a break in the words.  Anyone who already has this experience and have a solution?

    You can try to use a different keyboard and check if the space bar works.

    You're missing ExtensionData starting from the operating system objects, i.e.

    I think that what you mean by "auto-fill" is that the application that you use to open the csv file, for example MS Excel does not automatically the full content of each field that the column widths are too narrow. A csv file is a text file with each value separated by a comma, try opening the file in a text editor such as Notepad to see.
