So look like an easy option, I agreed. It seems to have solved the problem (fingers crossed), but now it seems that I need to format the hard drive.   The program was the Vuze, and I managed to get rid of the icon.  By a right click and do not move the mouse and wait 5 minutes eventualy box popped up and I was able to remove the icon from the start menu.

  The solution was a lot of patience.

  I use Win7 Pro SP1 and whenever I come back to my office after finishing a session desktop connection to my computer remotely, I noticed several of the icons in the all programs from the Start Menu section changed to default page icons. If I try to open any programs that are pinned to the start itself, it will indicate that the program cannot be found. Notepad and Calculator in particular to keep more victims of this problem.

  I also noticed that the audio controller is disabled until I restart.

  If you later open a 8th program, among the list of 7 will be "hit.
