the shortcut target program options

I have a shortcut that launches a program. I want to add one of the options of the program target of the shortcut, but all my test results field in a command syntax error message.  The program options include an initial, possibly qualified path, filename and other options identified by / x... triggers.

Please show me how to do this.

Price Buhrman.

Use double quotes ("") around all that includes a character delimiter (such as a space) should help.

Example:

'C\Program Files\My Files\myprog.exe' / x 'C:\other files\target file.doc ".

  • the drive or network that designates the shortcut "target file" is not available

    Hello

I have a small network of about 10 computer connected to a switch, then switch in the router. We have an Excel shared that we need access on all computers and it worked but now shows "the drive or the network, which means the shortcut"xxx"is not available, make sure that the disc is inserted correctly etc... ("xxx" is just an example for the name of the file).

Im not sure what caused it to stop working, but it is still available on some computers, but not others. I can sometimes get when a particular machine is not turned on, but as soon as he does I lose access. I can see the machine where the file but that you cannot access the files.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

This could be a permission problem.

Step 1: Navigate to the target location and change the permissions of the drive.

For a file or folder, follow these steps:

    a. right click on the file/folder you want to take control and then click Properties.

    b. click the Security tab and then click OK.

    c. click on Advanced Options and select the owner tab.

    d. click on edit everything first.

    e. If you want to take ownership of the contents of this folder, select the Replace owner of subcontainers and objects check.

    f. click OK and then click Yes when you receive the following message appears: you are not allowed to read the contents of directory folder name. Do you want to replace the the directory permissions with permissions granting you full control?

    g. click OK, and then reapply the permissions and security settings that you want for the folder and its contents.

  • Why won't save the shortcut target locations?

I have an SSD and a normal installation of HD. I went through and changed, in my registry so that when shortcuts are created automatically, they are set to be installed on my drive D (HD). Sometimes, however, shortcuts are always on the C drive, despite having updated me my registry. Usually, this does present a problem, since I just delete the shortcut and manually send the real shortcut on the desktop. But the only reason why I have to do it manually is because of the real problem, this: when a shortcut is created automatically, it will always be the target on my drive C: (SSD). When I change the C a d in the input line text (example: C:\Program Files (x86)\NCSoft\Launcher\NCLauncher.exe' /LaunchGame = Aion will change to D:\Program Files (x86)\NCSoft\Launcher\NCLauncher.exe' /LaunchGame = Aion), press on apply, then press OK, the shift from C to D NEVER records.)) • FDMEE - different target for the same target application options

    Hi FDMEE - Experts.

We run FDMEE 11.1.2.4 to load data to a single application of HFM and are faced with a special request of the company.

We have a place to load their data to HFM, even if the report of Validation of Intersection is pointing to one or more errors.

With FDMEE we just copied the TargetAdapter (changed the parameters of Validation of the Intersection) and used for the precise location of the adapter copied with the changed settings. (its perfect it to load the remaining data of HFM and us shows in the log the errormsg).

As it is not possibel in FDMEE to create a second connection TargetApplication to a HFM Application, which is already used, I want to solve this problem by an EventScript which changes the Intersection 'check' for the specific location.

Could someone give me a hint on what the correct functioning, I need to call in the script to change the 'YES' to a 'NO '? And if the event: "BefProcMap" would be the right to use?

I want to make it as easy as possibel.

If str (fdmContext ["LOCNAME"]) = "LOCATION_WHO_DOES_NOT_NEED_INTERSECTIONCHECK":

    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

    Thank you all

In 11.1.2.4 make you to level loading data rule. You now have the possibility of substitution/specify the options of the target State of loading data. If you don't even have somewhere else, just 2 different DLRs to one place - who has the option of validation enabled intersection and the other has not.

  • Shortcuts to programs, EXE files does not open (you will be asked which program I want to use to open the file)

My system has developed a strange (and annoying) issue that no longer allows me to double click on the shortcuts of programs or EXE files.  When I do, I give myself a menu asks me what program I want to use to open the file, as if I was trying to open a file with an extension that is not associated with.

The only way to get all the programs to run more is to right click on the shortcut and select "Run as Administrator".

Right click on the shortcut also reveals a new 'momentum' (Yes, spelled with one S tiny) option in the menu.  I have not tried it works, in my view, it could be related to some false recently-removed security software that appeared out of nowhere last night.

Any help to remedy this situation and get back to normal functionality would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

If program shortcuts are not no longer works, you will need to use a procedure special difficulty fo files .lnk (similar to the one used above with .exe files).

Go to http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/06/22/reset-and-fix-broken-windows-vista-file-ext-and-type-associations-include-exe-com-sys-zip-lnk-folder-drive/ and select the .lnk and run it.  That should fix your shortcuts.  Or you can use the link provided above by Michael Murphy - it does essentially the same thing.

    I hope this helps.

  • Way to package the shortcut pointing to the network drive

I have a package with 2 files - a .ini and a shortcut on the desktop. The .ini file will fine SystemRoot. The shortcut on the office lights, and points to a network drive, but fails it as in package.ini, the source for the shortcut, which is the entry point main, pointing to a target that is not in the package, which is a file on a network share, which is mapped to the user through a login script.

I tried build the package with the shortcut pointing to the .ini file, as it exists in the package and then try to generate scripts to change the path of the shortcut target, timing of the launch of the shortcut, but I can't get that to not work. Any ideas?

I've already fallen on this kind of installation so I know a workaround for it but I'll be honest with you; What is the point of creating a virtual set for a shortcut and an .ini file? One of the main objective of virtualization app is isolation.  As a best practice and avoid possible isolation question (s), your package must contain all the files, that is to say, all of these files on the network (drive P :) must be placed in the thinapp package.)

But if you still go with this configuration for any reason, you can try the following:

    In the project folder:

-Create a shortcut in the folder % desktop (create it if it does not exist) and type the following location: P:\SBRTS\SBRTS. EXE (you will need to have your mapped P: drive)

-Name of your shortcut "SBRTS.lnk" (or any name you want)

-Change your point of entry as follows:

    [Clinic Workstation.exe]

    Source=%desktop%\SBRTS.lnk

    ReadOnlyData = Package.ro.tvr

    WorkingDirectory = P:\SBRTS

    Shortcuts = % Office

(Note that the WorkingDirectory may need to be adjusted. Normally the folder holding the binary is the working directory)

    -Rebuild you app with build.bat

  • Programs for the shortcut icons on the desktop of the user different?

My adult son and I are two Admins on what is basically a computer. I try to keep a very clean desktop so that I can easily find any new DOCS or IE shortcuts.
We each have our own connections. He installed games with CD and when I connected and found new icons for its games on my desk, I deleted them. But then he told me that they had disappeared from HIS Office too, so we had to go out of the Recycle Bin.
What is the only way that Windows XP work? I had always thought that each user has been mainly in charge of their own office, so it makes no sense to me.

Everything you see on your screen is just a shortcut or icon of a folder on your system, and there is a folder on the desktop that applies to all users (everyone gets those) and another folder in the office that applies to all users for things that belong to them.

When certain things are installed, they ask if you want the new program will be available for all users or just the current user (logged).

If you install for all users, shortcuts and icons will settle in the all users desktop folder.

If you install for just you, shortcuts and icons will settle in your desktop folder.

What you see on your desktop, it's all desktop users folder and your desktop folder combined.

What your adult son sees on his desk, is the all users desktop folder and its combined desktop folder.

If you install and tell the facility to apply to all users, shortcuts and icons to put in the desktop folder for all users - everyone sees them.

If the installed program shortcuts and icons in the all users desktop folder (and each user sees) and if you remove if from your office, you are also removing the all users desktop folder, then they are removed for everyone.

What you see on your desktop being things just in a folder, you can navigate to your folder office and add/remove things from him, just like any other folder (and therefore cannot your adult son).

If you have access to all the users desktop folder and add/remove things that will affect all the folder on the desktop.

If your installed program does not require and has just put all the stuff in the all users desktop folder (so everyone sees them) and that you don't want to see such things, cut the shortcuts in the all users desktop folder and paste them into your grown son file and then only he will see them.

Don't forget - what you see on your screen are just shortcuts and icons in a folder (s) that you can manipulate using including cut, copy, and paste.

  • Determine the target of the shortcut in the Start Menu

I have shortcuts to folders in my Start Menu.  They seem to be of two different types, judging by their icons, although I don't know what circumstances lead to one type over the other.

The 'good' type have icons that look like a single file.  I can pull up to its properties, the image of a folder appears with a small arrow in the lower left corner and there is a target field showing the trajectory of the target.

The 'bad' type have icons that look like a single file with a preview of the content.  I can pull up the properties, the picture shown is always a file with preview and there isn't * no. * Target field showing the trajectory of the target.

For both types, if I go down the shortcuts, the path in the address bar is not the true path, it's a false path that looks like it branches in the Start Menu (where the shortcut is) i.e. c:\Documents and Settings\Ma.F\Start Menu\TheShortCutName.  Two shortcuts are in folders on a network drive.

    1. How can I get the path of the target for the 'wrong' type of shortcuts?
    2. Is it possible to have the address field display the actual path instead of making it look like the folder is located in the Start Menu?

My mistake.  Records that have not shortened * resident in the Start Menu.  They contain simply other shortcuts or folders of shortcuts.  Answer to the question #1.

So, if I go down the shortcuts, the actual path of the target * is * displayed in the address bar.  Who responds to question #2.
