They said that I need to plug one end of the IR Blaster cable that shipped with the computer in a slot in the back of my computer (they told me which slot). They said so to run the IR all the way cable to my cable box and the other end of the cable to my cable box of band. They said it was necessary to be able to use my Microsoft Remote to instruct the box to change channels (cable IR stuck on the box). I told her that I did not use the Microsoft Remote, I could change the channel with my U-verse remote (that I preferred to use anyway). He said that it took the cable on the band decoder in order to remove the error message and the installation of Windows Media Center. I then called U-Verse technical adapter who informed me of their set-top boxes (made by Cisco Systems) do not have the ability to receive signals IR IR Blaster cable (or any othe IR signal source).   Hi, I had the time of IR not detected in Windows 7 Ultimate with a TV wonder 650 card and a box of digital adapter from Verizon for my PC... Go on the road to installation and after the Media Center channel search, choose manual configuration. Choose the aerial signal (I aso picked after this analog) l.   IF you have updated from 8 to 8.1 and the process was interrupted during installation, this may damage the disc and therefore locked error. "Refreshing" the system would not be the answer that you need to clean install Windows 8 again. 8.1 update can break the bond of the recovery partition, especially if it has become corrupted as indicated.

  You must clean up the installation with the recovery discs, you must have created before you updated to 8.1.

  In addition, if you do not have the recovery disks, you can buy a set of HP or install a regular copy of Windows 8 and then update the drivers manually. HP has the Windows key now integrated into the bios.

  I finally had my Epson GT - S50 working. I have a contract with support iYogi.They tech were recommended by Dell.  It took them more than 12 hours to solve this problem. They had to do a full factory reset. I have had all my drives. The alleged problem with mine was HP. I have a hp all-in-one. It damaged my windows files. On re install, I had to install Epson scan first, this hp. I would not buy an epson again. The product works well now but still double flow a lot and is very picky. When it works well, it really accelerates my work verse scan with the Hp all-in-one. I'm really happy that I have a scanner, but wouldn't recommend an Epson.  I highly recommend I have Yogi tech support. They are worth every penny.

  I have a HP m8034n pc with a tuner Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1600 NTSC/ATSC Combo.  The pc came with Vista and Windows media center worked great just with the tv tuner.  I upgraded to Windows 7, December 2 and fail to put in place my tv with WMC tuner.  The recorded shows that I had before the upgrade to Windows 7 appear and play without problem in WMC. I used the hardware diagnostic tool that is installed on my pc to control the Tuner, and during the test, I can see fine TV stations.  This unit is compatible according to microsoft Windows 7. I have the latest driver and tried to uninstall and reinstall. I ran Windows Update and everything is up-to-date. After that WMC checks tuners, it says:

  I don't know what happened, I left my PC off overnight and planned reformatting today. But I decided to give him another chance. Instead of saying the tuner was not available.   Thanks for the link, but it was driving me nuts and takes me too long to understand. So, I saved all my work and formatted my hard drive with a new installation of Mac OS x.
