The touchpad on my HPG60 moves is not the cursor around

Original title: my cursor is stuck.

I have a laptop HP G60 running Vista. My cursor is stuck. He can't move with the touch of the finger or the arrows. Cap lock is off.

It started on my Vista so I reinstalled the original backup files from CD to work. Having the page on the screen with the terms of the license, but as I can't move the cursor got stuck. Any help please.

Hi David,

1 - is this question only arises when you use a particular application or randomly?

2. have you updated all drivers after reinstalling vista?

Perform the following methods and check if it helps:

Method 1:

Please check if the problem still persists in safe mode too. See the link below for more information about safe mode:

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

Method 2:

Try to update the drivers for keyboard and check if it helps.

Updated a hardware driver that is not working properly

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work correctly

See also: update drivers: recommended links

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/update-drivers-recommended-links

Method 3:

You can try to check the keyboard on the screen and if the problem persists. Read the following article.

Type without using the keyboard (on-screen keyboard)

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/type-without-using-the-keyboard-on-screen-keyboard

Try to connect an external keyboard and check if the problem still persists.

If the problem persists after that run above mentioned methods, and then you will need to contact HP, i.e. the manufacturer of your computer to this topic as it seems to be hardware related.

Hope this information is useful.

  • Boring bar often appears while the cursor around that stops he or she jumps into another section of the document

A tiny little bar with arrows on each tip of the left and right side often appears under my cursor while I move it.  He stops the cursor or jump somewhere toward the bottom of the document.  I can't identify what it is because it disappears almost as soon as it appears.  Sometimes, I don't have to hit ESC to get rid of it, so I can again move my cursor.  I have a Toshiba laptop and use the internal mouse.  Anyone know what this could be and how I can disable it?

The shape of the cursor you describe (a short bar with an arrow at each end) is the form that the cursor should automatically apply when it is on the edge of a window that can be resized or in certain types of document, when it is on a column header or something else that can be resized.  If you hold down the button of the mouse and make dragging the mouse while the cursor is in this form, the element below it needs to change size as trolling the mouse.  It will disappear almost as soon as it appears if the mouse move just above the area without the mouse down because it is no longer on the edge of the window, the column heading or what it is that can be resized.  It shouldn't stop your cursor to move, and I'm not aware of any way to turn it off.

A part of the my s g80 lenovo touchpad does not (far left, to be more precise on the thick part of 5 cm), the cursor moves sometimes, bought this tour only 2 weeks before. I use especially the usb mouse, so never experienced this problem before, I do not know if it is still there since I bought. I contacted lenovo saying this problem, they asked to reinstall the driver for the touchpad from the link given, the problem persists and they claimed his driver with w7 incompatibility and reinstall the operating system? Please say a solution for this problem, I can't change the os now :(

Lenovo/support forums is the place to ask, its their software/driver.

Unless of course you make the mistake of using windows update for drivers, if so try to make back the driver, or reinstall on the Lenovo support site

  • Touchpad on my HP Mini 110-1125NR is locked and the cursor does not move

I've never locked my computer.  Everything has been implemented in the store where it was purchased about 4 years ago.  I put my computer in sleep mode yesterday afternoon and just tried to use this evening... somehow, the touchpad is inadmissible and the cursor does not move.  He remains in the middle condition of the screen.  I turned off the computer and restarted, nothing done.  Can anyone provide a solution?

    Hello

Shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

If the pointer is still frozen, try double clicking the top left of the button.

    Kind regards

  • Can not scroll__When typing the cursor will move to an another ling

I have problems the scrollable - cannot scrolling on web pages and documents.  I can use the scroll bar, but not the scrolling of the mouse (laptop).

Also, when I type my cursor moves to another line or on the same line - I do not know why?

    Thank you!

    Hello

Scrolling: scrolling of the laptop requires supporting the drivers provided by the manufacturer. This is probably not installed. Find them in the web site of the manufacturer.

For jumping: Control Panel/mouse/pointer Options tab, check the line to hide the cursor when typing. This is a common problem when the sensitive touchpad of your laptop errors brushes by the user thumb pads. • Precision touchpad 7510 periodically freezes, the cursor moves its own

Just got a new Precision Mobile Workstation 7510 a week ago. Out of the box and before installing updates or new software, the touchpad randomly every minute or so, stop answering the entry and the cursor would be very slowly thumbs itself (usually slightly crawling upward and to the right). This would happen for anywhere from a few seconds to 10 or if, before the touchpad would start working again. No change in the past week.

The pointer stick works as usual at the time the touchpad does not.

I tried all of the suggestions I found recommended or would think:

    • Reinstalling Windows from the original image (did this two times)
    • Reinstall the driver (I already had the last being, but I also well reinstalled and then removed and reinstalled version freshly downloaded from the latest version provided on Dell.com)
    • Disable the pointer stick
    • Deactivation of gestures
    • Unplug all devices, including the power adapter
    • Restart in Mode safe (persists, although maybe the normal touchpad driver is still loaded in Mode safe)

I was about to call Dell (I support Pro) thinking that it is a problem material, but interesting, there is no sign of trouble in the compatible installation screen mouse Dell GUI BIOS. I guess if it's a hardware problem, it would still appear there.

FWIW, the icon of Dell touchpad in the toolbar State system sometimes, but not always, poster touchpad entry at the center of the touchpad when this happens. The movement of the cursor is very slight - at a rate of a few millimeters to each instance, for a total of about an inch of arrow for more than 10 minutes (I'm looking at do it now while I have this post from my old machine).

Suggestions for anything else to try before I call support and schedule a call for a touchpad/palmrest of replacement?

Don't want to jinx it, but... it's been about 24 hours that the tech came out and replaced my touchpad and things worked great since then.

It seems that it was a material that delivers a replacement is resolved.

Thanks to Terry for configure sending tech support without making me go through all the hoops to talk to tech support. I have long been happy with Dell ProSupport, but Terry help me set up just to do very easily. Thank you!

How can I move a note to end back in the main text? Simply by clicking on the footnote number is no longer seems to do anything...

Pages ' 09 v4.3 support hypertext links have been implicitly set with notes at end of document, which led to a return to the original location of the page by double-clicking on the index value of EndNote. This feature is not enabled in any version of Pages v5, and return to the original page is a purely manual exercise.

  • If I'm totally off power to my PC, (storm in the region) to reset, the cursor appears, but will not move until I restart again.

If I just powerdown (overnight), leaving a/c, connected, the cursor appears and moves, as my mouse moves.  HOWEVER, if I powerdown and completely disconnect the PC, 110V, to keep safe from one close shot of lightning, THEN the problem appears.  After the storm passed, I plug the PC into the 110 outlet, turn on the computer and restart it.  The cursor appears in the center of the screen, but it will not move when I move my mouse.  THE ONLY THING I can do is hit briefly, the power button to turn off the back and then click New to reboot (twice now)... then the cursor appears in the center of the screen and moves when I move my mouse.

Yes, I still think it's the battery.  If the computer is turned off but still plugged into the wall, food always provides a small amount of power to the motherboard to keep a ready"" State.  In fact, if you stop it, but keep it is plugged, you can send a packet to 'Wake-on-LAN' through the Ethernet that would then turn on your computer so you don't have to press any button at all.  This requires that some things are always under tension even when the rest of your computer is turned off.  Remove the plug from the wall removes this standby power and now the BIOS of your motherboard must hold his memory by falling back on the battery.

    Hi Ardeet,

Two other things I would say.  First of all, have you been able to test your mouse on another machine to make sure it's working properly?

Also, have you been to the website of the manufacturer of your computer to update the drivers for your machine and chipset?

    I hope this helps!
