The type inside a interactive disappears in the interactive PDF, I create

I'm trying to create an interactive pdf with Adobe InDesign CC. I want to have labeled buttons, you can click on and it will take you to another page. An interactive pdf but resulting, the functionality of the button works properly, the type of label/does not at all appear.

The buttons in an interactive PDF will always be the top layer. Are your labels above the buttons in the ID file?

• When you create interactive PDF files in InDesign, buttons are down in the DC / Acrobat Reader

Hello Acrobat Forum:

I create an interactive e-book PDF I get incompatible with questions. I spent a lot of time trying to solve it, and I still have to find a solution. I have some configuration of navigation on a master page that I need to change the page level. These buttons should have a reverse effect, so the bearings must exchange. Most of the time these works. It is the 25% of the time this is a problem. And when there is a problem, they are not displayed. The final PDF is created an InDesign book with 5-6 papers in it. It has 6 layers with the top layer of mostly unprintable.

That's what I tried:

• Made sure all the layers in the ID book are exactly the same.
• Handset of all horizons for the navigation and buttons on the same layer.
• Exported with only the layer of activated navigation. This fixed the problem with the navigation, but once all the other elements have been added the problem came back.
• Changed order of the layers. Same result with the loss of elements.
• Excerpt from the page with the fall as they appear and buttons. As soon as I replace the page with this page the complete document, they give up.

I use the latest version of InDesign (version 2015.4) and DC Acrobat (version 2015.017.20053).

I have many more of these books, it is imperative that I find a solution in the future.

Thank you.

After much trial and error trying to figure this issue out, I came up with the solution that solved my problem. The issue has to do with the designation of the buttons. Most of the buttons were on master pages. But some pages have a different look on some pages. So I turn on the master page to the page level button. Once this happened, he changed the name of the button. Because I'm using the function "Export to the book in PDF format", where this has been done in other ID files in the book, there was conflict in the naming of the buttons. Once I renamed the buttons with a unique name, they came on the page.

• Interactive PDF button problem

I created an interactive pdf to InDesign CS5.5. I added buttons on the pages of navigation through the pages of the pdf file. The pdf file has worked flawlessly until someone tried to open the pdf file in Acrobat 6.0; all of type (fonts) on the buttons have become jumbled, as if the police were missing, but the fonts are embedded in the pdf file.

I need this pdf file to work correctly in all versions of Acrobat and Acrobat Reader, as many customers view the pdf and I don't have any control over what version they demand.

I thought that I could solve this problem by simply creating outlines on the policies. This has not fixed the problem, it's actually worse. When I did the new interactive pdf, after creating the contours on the buttons, the text on the buttons is no longer visible, he disappeared.

Does anyone know any workarounds or fixes for this issue?

You say that in recent versions of Acrobat, the buttons look and work correctly, no?

And it of only when you try to open a version of Acrobat, created in 2003, nine, you have a problem?

I think you're setting up unreasonable expectations. There is actually a problem more serious than that and much more likely to happen: use many users Mac Apple Preview to view PDF. interactivity largely fails when seen in preview.

The answer, in my view, is to tell your readers they must download the FREE Adobe Reader software, or use a recent version (tell Reader 8 and higher), and if you are that they use a different drive they can get unexpected results for the visualization of interactivity. And provide a link to download the FREE Adobe Reader software.

• Interactive pdf Acrobat posing falsely as a form...

I have an interactive pdf I created 36 page. I created the buttons in InDesign CC, and that's all just buttons not form elements too. When I write the pdf up to p18, that's fine, but when I try to write the whole 36 pages of the file PDF opens with the purple "Please fill out the form" bar. Is not a form and it's driving me crazy because the customer, I know, quite rightly do not want that. When I exported the InDesign files two separate pdfs (each 18 pages long) the 'form' of prurple bar do not appear - everything was fine and that she should be in other words. When I combined these two halves, however, the final pdf file had the purple bar "form"! Grrr! When I click on the button "highlight fields" nothing does highlight, so no clues here! It may be something to do with the size (as the No. pages) but I have no idea why. It's totally weird when I save as two halves or half a purple bar "forms", but if I export all 36 pages at once or I combine the two half-PDF to a doc, then Acrobat treats as a form - but without all the fields highlighted. Is someone pleae knows what is happening? Someone had appropriate experience? Help, please!

This happens when there are 100 or more buttons and the buttons are actually a type of form field. What you can do to prevent it, is add the standard password security and restrict filling out forms. The buttons still work, but the message will not appear.

• I have created a form in Indesign. Is there a way to create the default text in a text field that displays the interactive pdf "insert text here" in the text field?

I have created a form for the company, so that I work. It is a form that will be used in several offices and has buttons, drop downs and text fields. One of the text fields has a requirement that when the PDF file is opened, the text field has something written in there already, as an example (and one only) INSERT the TEXT HERE. I created the text field in Indesign and used the text tool to type in the area of the body-copy required. After that I have to export it as an interactive PDF, text in the text field disappeared.

Drop-down lists give an option for a default choice, but I don't see a way to create default text in the Panel of buttons and forms for text fields. Is there a workaround or a hidden feature?

Thank you!

Set it in Acrobat.

• Interactive PDF layers appear behind the text. A script can move them to the top layer?

I have created a form in InDesign CC (latest version on a Mac under El Capitan). I export the form in PDF format. There are some interactive tooltips (with suggestions on how to fill in each particular field) implemented as buttons. The control keys are static. When I click on the trigger, the bubble appears, when I click on the bubble, it disappears. The problem is that even if the bubbles are set up on the top layer in InDesign, in many cases they appear behind the text layer.

Is there a script that I can add to each individual bubble that says "when this bubble is active, move it to the top layer?

This project took over 3 weeks of troubleshooting. In the end I came up with my own results. The answer was "no, it isn't a script."

With the help of the Adobe customer service, we found that because in the InDesign file, I had the pop-ups on a different layer than the triggers, it was causing a problem of overlap. I found myself by combining the layers into a single, moving pop ups to the elements high on the page in the layers palette.

Then I exported (interactive) PDF from InDesign and in the PDF file, in edit mode, in the fields Panel, I've selected all the pop-ups and offers them to at the bottom of each page [z-index property]. A lot of manual labor, but in the end, I got most of the results I wanted.

• Export interactive PDF in indesign, with the animation of the edge to the SWF file?

Hello

I have an interactive pdf in indesign with animation, works very well when they are exported to the swf file.

I need to use more complex animations that Indesign has, so I created some new features of Adobe Edge animate, exported save them as a file .oam and then put them in the Indesign file.

If I use the Preview on the animation tab I see indesign animations and the edge, but if I export it to a SWF file is - this only animation to indesign working, and if I export to epub file is only the edge animation work.

Somehow it is possible to export so that the two works of animation types. and it is possible to do it in a SWF file.

I have Creative Cloud 2014 for both programs

Thank you!

• Optimize the creation of large INDB exported as an interactive PDF

I'm running into some problems of speed when creating an InDesign book that is exported as an interactive PDF. This process is be script using JSX and running on a server of InDesign CC. I tried various combinations of settings for interactivePDFExportPreferences, and which none does not seem to make a difference. I don't think that it takes as long InDesign to create the book itself, most of the time is spent by exporting it as an interactive PDF.

Some background information, a PDF page 'unique' for each page of the publication has already been created. Most pages also took - what I call a superposition of hyperlink - another created INDD file containing rectangles with hyperlinks. Each 'page PDF' is then imported into a new INDD and if there is a corresponding "hyperlink overlay" then it is duplicated on the top of the "single page PDF", then the result is recorded as a new INDD. The result is then an INDD for each page in the publication that will be used in the creation of the InDesign book.

Now that we have an InDesign doc for each page we create an INDB script and that will be exported as an interactive PDF. Here comes my question. Someone has suggestions to optimize the creation of a book of InDesing that is exported as an interactive PDF? The PDF file takes a little over half an hour to create just for a 80 page publication. Some of our publications are 300 + pages, so the time it takes to create this size of a book and export to PDF is unacceptable.

I would also like to note that the interactive PDF file that has been exported from InDesign book will be used with 3D issue online. Added hyperlinks - hence the need for the interactive PDF - link ads/announcements in our publication on the 3D issue to the respective pieces of the inventory on our Web sites.

Another solution, I'm currently entertaining is thread creation of the InDesign book and splitting it up which would result in several small interactive PDF which then I would write something to combine them into a single PDF file.

with ( app.interactivePDFExportPreferences )
{
exportLayers = false;
exportReaderSpreads = false;
flipPages = false;
generateThumbnails = false;
includeStructure = false;
interactivePDFInteractiveElementsOption = InteractivePDFInteractiveElementsOptions.INCLUDE_ALL_MEDIA; //APPEARANCE_ONLY
pageRange = PageRange.ALL_PAGES;
pageTransitionOverride = PageTransitionOverrideOptions.NONE; //FROM_DOCUMENT;
pdfJPEGQuality = PDFJPEGQualityOptions.HIGH;
pdfMagnification = PdfMagnificationOptions.DEFAULT_VALUE;
pdfPageLayout = PageLayoutOptions.SINGLE_PAGE_CONTINUOUS; //SINGLE_PAGE; //DEFAULT_VALUE;
pdfRasterCompression = PDFRasterCompressionOptions.JPEG_COMPRESSION; //AUTOMATIC_COMPRESSION (same time using auto, but resulting file is 2x the size)
rasterResolution = 192; // No time diff between 144 or 192 DPI but there was a noticeable quality diff
}

Thanks for the reply. I agree, the script itself is not the issue. I was hoping that someone out there knew a small export/parameter preferably that would help me. I know that the quality of some graphics or even PDF files would reduce the time it takes. Reduce the quality of the graphics and the PDF output have been attempted. However, 3D issue allows Zoom and when the output quality was reduced and a user zooms in it looks pretty bad. Also, it doesn't give me enough compromise time/quality to justify reducing the quality.

However, I have found another solution. PDFsharp is a great open source solution. Instead of creating all INDDs using InDesign, create an INDB and export to a PDF file. I can now create PDF files in the first place and use .NET and the PDFsharp library to combine all of the PDF files in a single PDF file. This is a lot faster and without any sacrifice of quality! I wish I would have looked into this type of solution before you spend hours trying to find a way to optimize the creation of the INDB.

• IDCS6-> interactive PDF. The spotty rollover button feature.

Crossposting INDD forums:

So I have a button that, created when you click it, sends a user to a destination to my favorites in the same PDF file.

The reversal and clicked States work perfectly on my machine in Acrobat X (10.1.6 on OSX 10.8.3) but malfunctions on other computers here in the office (Acrobat X 10.1.1 on OSX 10.8.3). In earlier versions of Acrobat, the rollover State flashes then disappears when the mouse is first part of button.

The final for this must be compatible in the world with the users probably down to Acrobat 8 or 9 (not sure yet on the compatibility requirements - it's the best prognosis). What are my options? If compatibility is more easily what are my options?

If it is not a compatibility problem, what am I doing wrong?

If it's helpful, here is how I created the button in INDD:

And here is a link to an example: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7175230/buttontest_anon.pdf

It isn't filling in InDesign, what questions it's filling that results in the PDF file (which is transparent, even if the work inside the key covers the entire area). You change the properties of the button in Acrobat after it's been saved in PDF format.

I have a user account, but the type is standard user... I can't create an administrator user... because when I press on it see something that says that WINDOWS needs YOUR permission TO CONTINUE to create... Fix this please...

To create an administrator account, you must be...
(1.) an administrator
(2.) to connect to the existing administrator account, or in possession of an administrator password.
If you do not have all of the above, forget it.

When the system asked you for permission, you should click on continue or enter the Admin password. If you could not do either, it means that you don't have administrative rights to do what you want.

• Reduce the size of the 'button' bearing in interactive PDF format?

I created an interactive 'button' to create a larger overview of the thumbnail image (just using normal, overview says). Works well, except that the size of the enlarged image, which is considered a reversal, and it takes the largest part of the page. The image is the right size, but the bearing is simply too big. Is there a solution? Or another way to accomplish (that is to say, the size of the thumbnails is everything I want turnover, not the image of grand expanded and hidden)?

The size of the buttons is the size of the buttons. The different button States may appear to be a different size, but the button itself is not.

You might have a button become hidden on rolling and display a different but I see very little of interest to do with bearings. This is not what I expected in the behavior.
