I came across a 750 MHz on eBay G3 processor, mean't to improving a Mac PowerPC with a slower 233 MHz or G3 266 MHz processor. It is a good idea, I like my G3 minitour, but the 266 MHz really choking when you play games like the Sims high performance. I was wondering if this upgrade is a healthy option for the computer? I'm really not a lot of ins and outs of a motherboard, but if this upgrade is not a total fantasy and pretty easy to accomplish without slaughter my computer I would love to give it a go!

    Thank you

The '750' is the number assigned to the PowerPC G3 processor: a PowerPC 750.  The processor speed is not 750 MHz.  A few years ago, when your beige G3 was not quite so old, there were third, faster G3 and processor G4 upgrades marketed for these models.  Even if you bump the processor speed, the speed of 66 MHz system bus will pass and you have dedicated graphics bus AGP.  All PCI video cards are installed in one of the 33 MHz PCI slots.  The offset that you are experiencing is due to a combination of hardware architecture very up-to-date of these computers in 1997/1998.  You could install a faster ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) processor upgrade card, but I don't think that you will experience results that you would hope for.  If I spend the money on a card processor used for a beige G3 in 2016, she will have to be a G4 and very expensive.  All of the money invested in upgrading to a beige G3 will exceed the current market value of the computer.  You can read old comments on these upgrades to accelerate your Mac 'area G3'.

  • Equium P300-190 - Question about upgrading the processor

    Hello

I just have a question for my CPU PC Toshiba laptop, I have a can of Equium P300-190 full to give model number if necessary the cpu is one supplied with the laptop.

My question is I want to upgrade the processor but do not know which would be the best option and there are limits with the BIOS, etc. on board.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Probably it is not known to you that upgrading the CPU is not officially supported by the manufacturers of portable.

The CPU upgrade is a tricky thing... the fact is that the CPU must be supported by chipset and BIOS.
Where a party would not support the new processor, the unit will not light.

So even if you use a CPU that is supported by the chipset (Intel GM965) there is a risk that the BIOS could not support the new processor...

The laptop was equipped with processor Intel Pentium Dual-Core processor T2390 (Merom code name) probably the other CPU Intel Pentium Dual-Core family-owned would be compatible, but to be honest, you won't see a performance improvement...

So in my opinion it is not worth trying to upgrade the processor...

In my opinion, you need to replace the HARD drive with an SSD... in that case you will get the performance improvement...

    Hello.

I own a X 200 satellite and me have been thinking about upgrading my processor, actually a T5450 (really bad).

I would like to know mainly two things:
    (1) is it possible?
    (2) what chipset, socket is compatible with the processor T5450?

    Thank you

    Hello

    > 1) is it possible?

In General, the laptop is not designed for Cpu and Gpu improved but only for memory and hard drive.

(> 2) what chipset, socket is compatible with the processor T5450?

According to the website of intel:

    http://Ark.Intel.com/product.aspx?ID=30787 support for Sockets PPGA478

Note, the Bios must also support a new processor, otherwise, it is useless. I don't know if your Bios can support these updates have not all the technical documentation for your model

  • Re: Satellite 2430 402: the processor upgrade possible?

    Hello world

    I have a Satellite 2430 402 with P4 2.53 GHz.
Is it possible to change the processor of a more recent/fast (up to 3.4 GHz)?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

Maybe an other old Intel P4 CPU would work, but you will not be able to upgrade and use newer processors.
Furthermore a stronger CPU would create more heat dissipation and this would lead to a temperature more high which could affect the functionality of the laptop.

So even if a new CPU would be recognized correctly by the BIOS, it might affect the functionality of the laptop.

    Welcome them

  • Is satellite Pro M70-235 - possible to upgrade the processor?

    Hello

Is it possible to upgrade of processor in this laptop (Pentium M 750-1866 MHz) Pentium M 780 2266 MHz?

    Thank you..

    Hello

Theoretically, it of possible to exchange the processor on your laptop, but nobody will be able to tell if the laptop works fine with the new processor or not.

You mustn't forget that the BIOS and motherboard is designed for the preinstalled CPU and it s not tested with another processor. Normally a newer or faster CPU produces more heat and I don t know if the Assembly of cooling on your laptop is sufficient for this.

If you still have the warranty of your laptop you will lose because Toshiba doesn't support the CPU upgrade:

I have SATELLITE L770D - 10 d with AMD A4 - 3300M and I would like to upgrade the processor to for example A8 - 3500M, since they have the same socket and TDP. I have the Toshiba support pages, but I couldn't find an answer.

This is because toshiba usually does not support updates to their laptops and if they do its own risk

the only way to know if it works is to screw open the laptop and see if the cpu is not soldered to the motherboard
If that's your out of luck and the custom then able to switch on the cpu

If not then u check if the motherboard support is the same as the new A8 - 3500 m

If it's the same thing then u go to the step following and demand for the bios - mods.com if your BIOS has the required firmware for this cpu

then IF that is okey then you will be able to replace the cpu

remind u this will require you to disassemble almost all computer laptop and high risk damage to your product if it is not done right
so, if you don't have any COMPUTER knowledge id suggest u not not for this

This time did so with L500-1ZP, which came with an i3 330 m and upgraded to an i7 620 m still solid

  • Upgrading the processor on the Satellite U200

I have a PLUA0C U200-PT300E and I would like to upgrade the processor in it. I bought a T7200 processor on eBay since it was the most powerful available for laptops U200/U205 CPU. However, when I installed it, I came across a series of problems. First the fan would run at full speed and the computer would briefly have blue screen after Windows loading and then it could restart. He just kept this again and again. I ran MEMTEST because I wasn't too sure about what the issue was. The computer locked up during the test, and then I was unable to restart it. I replaced the processor with the an original T2300E, then the cimputer starts and ran perfectly.

Any ideas why this happened? Was the defective CPU? Both the U200 and U205 come with the Intel 945 GM Express chipset and I have the latest Toshiba BIOS for the U200/U205 (v 3.70) so it doesn't seem to be compatibility problems.

I wonder if it is the CPU that my own past experience if a CPU is not compatible with a chipset then the computer or the other does not start or it will give errors as soon as it publishes. However, this would be POST and would start to load Windows before it crashed.

I m didn't ask you with all these questions. Why you not a not post here until you have made the decision to upgrade CPU?

In any case, I think that the answer to your questions, you will find under http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm

  • Upgrading the processor on a Satellite S2410-504

    Hello

I am trying to upgrade my laptop, I ' ve recently upgraded memory RAM 256 MB to 1024 MB and has managed to get their hands on a 2450-210, which was practically dead and collapsing. As he had a 2.4 Ghz P4 processor and my 2410 has a 1.7Ghz P4 processor, I thought that I swap them.

However once I had transposed them, my 2410 starts, the power light and 'the' light takes sound but nothing else happened. When I put the processor original back, my computer worked well again.

Is there a reason why the failure of my attempt of swtiching the CPU? I was under the impression that as long as the two processors where the two P4 that a straight swap would work - improvement of my beloved 2410-504.

Apart from the RAM is there something else I can do to 'pimp' my computer?

    Any help would be apprecicated

    Ash

    Hello!
OK, technically the two P4s are identical, according to the pins. But according to me, BIOS does not support this processor due to its Ghz. have you tried a BIOS update, if it is available?
    Maybe this can help.
Oh, and why are dead Notepad, where you took the CPU? It could be the case, that the CPU has been damaged, and this is why it does not work.

And for other parts of your laptop, you could upgrade HARD drive, if you haven't done so already. In addition, nothing comes to mind, what you could do to improve the performance of your machine.

I have a pretty old (~ 5 years) S3000 - X 4 with a processor Intel Celeron 930 MHz I recently did a cleaning the radiator unit and additional and fat of the lot because the fan never seemed to stop. It has improved and now the fan especially when the processor reached somewhere around 80% usage.

The problem seems to be that he who reached very easily, so I still have the fan going all the time. I think probably a better processor could stop this, however, I'm not sure I can upgrade the processor?

Anyone know anything about this? It seems in other parts of this model is sold as a Satellite 1200, but comes with a 1.2 GHz processor.

Those were nice computers laptops in the day but now completely obsolete. Use the Pentium M (Centrino) unique 32-bit processors and memory DDR 1 which tops out at 2 GB. You could do a minimum competence for browsing the Web and word processing, but it is really made for Windows XP, Vista not even without talking about Windows 7-10. It is not capable of running the 64-bit software.

Thank you for giving me the answer. I guess it's time to look for a new motherboard now.

No doubt, it would be nice if someone let HP know this, so people like me would not try to use this processor with the motherboard.

  • RAM upgrade problem: Flash the BIOS? or upgrade the processor?

Hi, I jumped in with both feet and now need help to get out me!

I have a desktop PC HP Pavilion Elite HPE-470uk who becomes a bit slow (processor card here http://ark.intel.com/products/48505/Intel-Core-i3-550-Processor-4M-Cache-3_20-GHz). After you have added a bluray player that I noticed that it's getting a bit slow so thought I would add little RAM.

I bought a few Hyper X8GB of HyperXbeast 1600hhz, slipped in and the PC did nothing but to turn on and off several times. I checked the two sticks and they both do it. I then (plow in front) checked what memory, the processor can handle and discovered "The Intel® Core™ i3 - 5xx / Intel® Core™ i3-21xx processors handle memory DDR3 1066/1333 MHz" by http://www.intel.com/support/processors/corei3/sb/CS-031175.htm

After a discussion on another forum, that it has been suggested that I have updated the BIOS because it can allow the processor to manage memory 1600 mhz, but I don't know where to start on this or what version to selected download. I'd appreciate any help you can offer on this.

The other way, that I can see is to update the processor itself. I thought of nothing too fancy just an i5 because it will allow me to run 3d blurays and should allow me to run some apps at the same time. After reading this http://m.wikihow.com/Upgrade-a-Processor it seems too complicated. Is it really just a matter of taking off the fan, declipsant the old processor, nine droping in and then put on some cooling stick stuff?

Or should I just return the memory and get good memory?

    See you soon

    Atdot.

Here are the specifications of original factory for your desktop HP Pavilion Elite HPE-470uk and its card mother MS-7613 (Iona-GL8E). Based on these specifications, this model can support up to 16 GB (4 GB x 4 DIMMs) as follows:

    Dual channel memory architecture
Four DDR3 DIMM sockets (240 pin)
    PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333)
    PC3-8500 (DDR3-1066)
    Memory non - ECC, unbuffered
Supports up to 16 GB on 64 bit computers

    In addition, this model can support the following Intel processors;

Maximum frequency of the processor of the heart < = 2.93GHz
    Intel Core i7 - 8xx (Lynnfield core)
    Intel Core i5 - 7xx (Lynnfield core)
    Intel Core i5 - 6xx (Clarkdale core)
    Intel Core i3 - 5xx (Clarkdale core)

If you do not have to worry about the update of the BIOS, there is no updates available for your computer BIOS. Honestly, I return the incorrect memory and upgrade to a minimum of 8 GB of RAM. Then, if it solves all your problems, you could also upgrade the processor.

As the computer is nearly 4 years old, you can consider a factory HP restore to return the computer to a facoty as State. In many cases, it returns original full speed of the computer. The reason why this helps, because the BONE is swollen and clogged over time.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Toshiba delivered this unit with two different processors Celeron (1.5 and 1.8 GHz). As you know the processor must be compatible with the hardware architecture and if you want to make a few upgrades that are realistic and do it with recommended CPU or tested.
