The upgrade to OSX 10.4.11 in 10.7.5

What should I do to upgrade a Mac Pro (2007) 10.4.11 to 10.7.5?

1. click on here, the installation DVD and software update execution.

2. after #1, go to the Apple Online Store and order a download code for 10.7 Lion.

Mac OS X 10.7 and newer do not support PowerPC software such as Microsoft Office 2004. If you upgrade the operating system, first back up the computer.

Sorry to hear that, but if you have a problem with the firefox update the best way is to download and install the new version.

    1. download a new copy of the Firefox program

    2 Firefox 11.0 of: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html

    3. Trash , install the current application of Firefox to do a cleaning.

    4. install the new version you downloaded.

  • Since the upgrade to Sierra - my CPU runs hot

Recently, I used the app store to upgrade my MacBook Pro for OSX Sierra.

From this point forward - my laptop is very hot and fans constantly run like a Jet engine.

I see this in the activity monitor:

I put all my contacts to synchronize hourly, and nothing has changed before the upgrade and after.

How can I fix it? My life of the battery is to be purged, permanently.

  • upgrade to OSX 10.12 Sierra 10.6.8

I have a MacMini running 10.6.8 mid-2010 Core2Duo. Only 2 GB of RAM, but I bought more (went wild and bought 2 4 GB 'cards' to replace the two original things from 1 GB) and install it after I do the upgrade (or did I miss something on the order of things... because I don't think that the new RAM is recognizable to OS 10.6.8... seems I read that somewhere) (, perhaps to OWC in descriptions of fleas?)

I'm following the discussion 6271steps, the upgrade to 10.7 and above. I think it of a little too complete and covers many too on the ground which may not be suitable to my situation. I need to do this because 10.6.8 browsers are supported by less and less my online services (bank account, doctor, etc.) ... and of course, I need at least 10.10 download, install and use Google Chrome, if I want to access these accounts, for example.

I'm hanging installation 10.7 Lion - point I paid for and downloaded the installer, so I'm ready to press the button install. I have two independent full backups on external drives, as recommended (disconnected).

    1. what happens next? The installation program will erase my hard drive to install the new OS? (There seems to be an indication that may arise - in this article - but it's not clear to me).

If so, I guess I'll have to use one of these backups to get all my data, files, any return on the Mini?

    2. after that, the discussion indicates I'll need to upgrade from 10.7 to 10.7.5 until I can go to Sierra; is this fair? In the discussion 6271, there is the following:

«Note, as the last written of this trick, only available to 10.6.6 upgrades are 10.6.7, 10.6.8 10.7, and take up to 10.7 10.7.5 Combo, Supplemental updateand Security Update 2014-004 10.7.5 followed by 10.7.5 Bash update.»  Available only to 10.6.8 upgrades are 10.7, 10.8. »

3 the above quote does that I have the "combo, additional import" AND ALL THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES before I can install Sierra? (In other words, 4 additional "installed" after installation of 10.7, just preparation to take the giant step Sierra?)

    4. I understand, is that the only options available for me at the moment are:

    Upgrade to 10.7

    Update to 10.7.5

Upgrade to 10.12 (no intermediate OS is available is never again?)

(Reason for asking, is that the original discussion 6271 has several statements to be able to upgrade to 10.8 and more than 10, 7 - see #2 above, but I thought that Apple has stopped supporting 10.8, 10.9 and 10.10, 10.11 and don't allow anyone who has not already install.)

    5. an another link/rabbit Hutch in article 6271 says I need to install an update of the firmware to 10.6.8 if I want to 'internet restoration/command-R' * 10.7 (if something goes wrong, I guess, in all of the above steps). This document (article HT202313-"Computers that can be upgraded to use the Internet OSX recovery") provides links to the required firmware update. What do need me, or the installation of 10.7 and up to reduced Sierra negate the need for such an approach? (telling me I CAN do something without being clear, if I REALLY NEED to take this step, confuses me.)

    6. I have the original installation discs for my MacMini, but I do not remember if it came with OSX 10.6.4 or had 10.6.8 when I bought it. I can't find a 10.6.8 updater anywhere. Would not be "restoring the internet" average I would be taken back to 10.6.x when I used the original disks; If so, I would be able to return to 10.7 at all, or which would force to buy me a new computer?

In summary, it would be a great help for me if I had a list of the steps that I really have to take to get my computer to use the latest versions of Chrome, Safari, and Firefox, in the order that they should be made, without all the links not applicable and sidetrips that don't apply to other versions of OSX servers or people who use Java to develop stuff...

    * (question 5 above: this quote is from "Doc 2465 #Eight"-)

    "

Q: I have an old 2011 Mac and command-R won't let me restore of Mac OS X 10.7, or later on the internet.  Is there a way to allow him to do?

A: Yes.   Update the firmware, as evidenced by this article:computers that can be upgraded to use OS X Internet Recovery - Apple Support

To ensure you have the right firmware first, see this tip:

What should I do if I find a used without the original CD machine?

Really sorry to be so needy, but it is a great leap forward and I need to be able to use a current browser and better protected than 10.6.8 Mac OSX... and well, I want to do things.

Thanks for that help you can provide!

    1. it will not be unless a problem arises.

2 installation of the Mac App Store of the Lion version upgrades the computer to 10.7.5.

    3 No.

    4. you can switch to Mountain Lion or El Capitan(but only from 10.6.8) If you wish.

    5. This step is important only if you replace the hard drive, or a problem with the drive itself (not just the operating system).

    6. without the recovery of the Internet system, you will need to use a disk or an external drive in the case of #5.

  • Lost in the upgrade Firefox

Firefox me attracted in the upgrade of my browser. After the apparently successful upgrade in which my old Firefox has been replaced by a newer version, I got a Firefox (icon) with a circle and a slash that wouldn't start. Looking on the site of Mozila I see I need to Mac OS 10.5 or higher. I have 10.4.11. I was surprised to see how far I could go by downloading an incompatible application.

Is there any way I can retrieve my old Firefox or download an older version?

From Firefox 4, Mac must have an Intel x 86 processor (that yours is a Mac PPC) and OSX 10.5 or higher (yours is 10.4.11).

The good news is that Firefox 3.6.x supports even OSX 10.4 and Mac PPC Mac architecture. The bad news is that the support for Firefox 3.6.x series is likely to put an end to end April 2012.

You can try the TenFourFox third-party product that supports the PPC Macs with OSX 10.4.11 and OSX 10.5.8. Version 10.0.3 TenFourFox Firefox is available. The product is based on versions of Firefox released (10.0.3 version numbering seems to be the version of ESR of Firefox for extended environments organizations support). All support is provided by the developer, not by this site:

I can't access my hotmail account among some other sites since the upgrade to 3.6.8 on my macbook. I get the following message: "the proxy server refuses connections. Firefox is configured to use a proxy server refusing connections. Check the proxy settings to make sure they are correct. Contact your network administrator to make sure that the proxy server is running. "I can not even find the proxy settings more.

Windows: Tools > Options > advanced > network > settings
OSX: Firefox > Preferences > advanced > network > settings
Linux: edition > Preferences > advanced > network > settings
Set your settings to connect to the 'No proxy', if you are not using a proxy.

Firefox 3.6.6 added a new preference for connection settings, use proxy Panel"system settings", and the default value is the point. " This new preference does not affect most users, because they probably do not have a proxy set in place in their operating system. Therefore, most users should use the setting "no proxy".

  • Should I uninstall Firefox 3.6.6 before upgrade to OSX 10.6?

I don't want absolutely no glitches when I improve my MacBookPro of OSX 10.5.8 to 10.6.3. I use Safari as my main browser and Firefox only when a Web site does not work well with Safari. Therefore, I thought it may be best to uninstall Firefox before I update, because I can always reinstall Firefox after I updated. What do you think? I AppZapper use to uninstall Firefox, as it will search for and collect all preferably, etc., lists that accompany the Firefox, resulting in a complete and clean uninstall. Any thoughts? Thank you!

    Hello Gordon.

I don't know if you should uninstall Firefox before upgrading to Mac OS X (I don't think, anyway), but you may be interested to know how to back up your information, if you are afraid of losing it in the upgrade:

If you don't want to or cannot run El Capitan on your Mac, buy a DVD of iLife 11 from a source like Amazon or eBay.

My lbp6000 has stopped working when I upgraded to osx 9 mavericks.  How can I get it back?

    Hi gkharris!

I know that this issue is frustrating.  I'll be happy to help you.

When upgrading to new operating systems, we recommend that you uninstall and reinstall the drivers.  Please uninstall the printer by following the instructions in the article:

Uninstalling the printer driver (CAPT V3.55)

After uninstalling the driver, please download the latest driver on the Canon USA site.  Please click the link below:

    http://USA.Canon.com/Cusa/support/consumer

Once you are on the site, enter your model number.  Your operating system will be detected automatically.  Click on the word 'Pilot', and then select The CAPT Printer Driver Ver.3.65 and save the file. Then, open it from the save location and install the driver package.

Finally, save the printer in the print queue by following the instructions in the following article:

Registration of the printer with USB (Mac OS X Lion) ( CAPT LBP Series Driver3.36)

    * Although it shows OS X Lion, the instructions are the same.

I hope this information is useful for you.  If you need assistance, please contact us at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666).

  • The upgrade of Movi thru TMS

Have a TMS 13.1 operation and VCS 5.1.1

Downloaded the current model of implementation of the Movi 4.2 in TMS

Followed their instructions on the configuration of the URL and Version of Windows software software windows

Problem is Movi users do not receive the indicator that there is a new software to install

    Someone has encountered this situation?

    Thank you

    Anthony

    Hey Anthony!

What you have configured in the directoy configuration?

You might have seen for 4.2 and possibly later you define:

    • URL of the OS X software
    • Version of the OS X software
    • URL of the Windows software
    • Version of the Windows software

But to send the info to 4.1 and earlier versions, you must set:

    • URL of the software
    • Version of the software

I had put a http url to a Web site with information about the installation and the download link for win and osx.

As you probably upgrade to 4.2, "Software Version" must be: 4.2.0.10318

Replication of data to TMS for VCS must work, in order to check your Diagnostics Agent of TMS and

try to eliminate other VCS erros.

The info appears once commissioning is done, so for test disconnect them and reconnect.

This works very well for us with older versions of movi, tms 13.1 and VCS X6.1.

I also consider the upgrade of the VCs. X5.1.1 should work with TMS12.5.

To use TMS13.1, you must be at least X5.2, I would recommend X6.1
