The user incorrect name/password when you attempt to receive messages on Windows Mail

For the past 2 years my email worked fine and now all of a sudden I am unable to pick up E-mail from 2 to 5 email accounts that I have set up on Windows Mail. The exact error message is:

Account: * e-mail address is removed from the privacy *', server: 'pop.att.yahoo.com', Protocol: POP3, server response: '-ERR [AUTH] wrong username or password.', Port: 995, secure (SSL): Yes, Server error: 0x800CCC90, error number: 0x800CCC92

I have 3 other accounts on the same server and they all work very well and the properties are the same on all 5 of these accounts. I have not installed any new programs or updated anything before it happens. It's already happened and I just deleted the account and readmitted, find something has been altered, and then it worked fine. This time I tried to remove the two accounts and readmitted them and they still won't work.

It's very frustrating and any help would be appreciated. I'm under Visa SP2, Internet Explorer 9, Windows Mail 6.

Winmail opener has a number of issues, in particular with antivirus software (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3).  What seems to work for some is to delete the account completely and then close WinMail and reopen it, then add the account back once again, as you did.  It can help to compact and repair the database first (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).  Also check via webmail account is functional.
