The XP MCE - part numbers recovery disks?

I have several HP computers, including desktop computers and laptops.   I have several sets of HP system recovery disks.   One of them has 3 CDs with what look like the numbers on labels = HP-5012-0479, 0480 and-0481.

Are these CDs, the recovery discs to use with a desktop HP MCE?

If not, what system are used?

Thank you for your time and your attention.

  • Re: Can I use the other Satellite U400 series recovery disk

I have Toshiba Satellite U400 121. My recovery disk does not work may be due the scratches that I see in it. I took the laptop to the Toshiba Center service and I got a negative support of them. They said, they can't put the Windows Vista because the recovery disk is not there, and they have put Windows XP inside and handed to me.
later I got to know that Windows Xp is not Geninue one. :|

I can still see one of the Partition 'D:' with folder HDDRecovery inside.

So can I use Recovery Disk of all PC model Toshiba laptop other than the Toshiba Satellite U400 121 recovery disk.

In fact, I tried with the other model recovery disk, that at boot with this disk, Recovery Wizard starts up, but since I'm not sure about this one I stopped there and brought out.

Please one of you let me know if you have valuable contributions on this.

    suggestions are welcome!

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

I don't know Mr. which series Satellite U400-121, it is, but you must use the recovery disc designed specifically for this series of laptop!

Another recovery disc cannot be used because the drivers and tools that have been implemented in the image of Toshiba are not designed for this series of laptop!

By the way; You can order the CD from recovery from here:

  • Cannot install SP3 as it crashes even after recovering the computer by using a recovery disk

I recently had an accident requiring that I reboot using my restore disk that were made when I first came to this computer. Since the restart, I can't access the updates from Microsoft Updates program. No error message, tells me that I can not connect. After several attempts, I think that the problem lies in the validation of the Windows program I use. I tried manually to run the validation program and to download security patches I've saved previous accidents. I show that SP2 is underway. I have a standalone download SP3, that when I upload in the system, crashes and burns. Back to the same thing, restart using the recovery disk. I realize for XP ends next month and its time to upgrade. But I would like to have this machine in working condition to use for other tasks.

  • FAILED TO CREATE THE SYSTEM BACKUP WIZARD USING RECOVERY DISK

I use Windows XP Professional and is trying to create a system recovery disk using the backup and Recovery Wizard.
I backup all the info on my laptop on an external device.
The wizard said at the beginning that at the end of the process I will ask you to insert a cd to create a system recovery disk.
In fact it asks me to insert a cd.
(After the backuo is complete), it just says that there is no cd in the floppy drive so a system recovery disk could not be created.

So, I would be grateful for any help with ths frustrating problem.

The XP Backup and Restore Wizard will create only the recovery on a floppy disk. Are you sure it says there is no CD in the drive or the fact of State there is no disk in the floppy drive?  Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

  • PC without the DVD of restoration or recovery disk

    How can I restore it?

my restore partition is deleted my dvd is out of stock and I am not provided with any DVD recovery

Stupid UEFI MODE does not detect my hard drive even my hard disk is always good

    Hello

If the recovery partation is removed, you ordered set of recovery disk by calling the HP technical support. Second option is to install the retail version of Windows on the system.

  • Create the set of WIN Vista recovery disks

I have version OEM of WIN Vista Home Premium installed on my Dell Studio 540 desktop computer.  No recovery disk which came with my computer's operating system.

How to create a set of WIN Vista Home Premium recovery disc?  As can an alternate option, I save my OS on my 500 GB external hard drive that I currently use to backup photos, music, emails and other files?

Thank you very much for the help.

Contact Dell or look in the manual or on the Dell support Web site to learn how to create a recovery media. Another good option is the image of your system with a program like Acronis True Image and save the image on the external hard drive. This way you can go back to a system that works with all your programs, improvements, etc. very quickly instead of having to start over with a clean install. True Image is also incremental backup image so that your image is always cool. There are other imaging programs too - TI is exactly the one I use. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • My G62-340US, I just had to replace the hard drive. My recovery disks appear to be compromised. Help

On my G62-340US, I just had to replace the hard drive. I did 4 recovery disks when it was new. Now restore the recovery discs 3 ran, but will not be the 4th disk. The 4th information located anywhere without having to buy a new set? Where can I buy a single disc?

    Hello:

As far as I know, you would have to buy a whole series of new.

But, if you can read all 25 characters of the product key of W7 on the bottom of your laptop, I have a free solution to install a simplified version of W7 using the code the product key on your laptop.

    Here's how...

Download the ISO file from W7 Home Premium 64 bit from the Microsoft link below.

    http://MSFT.digitalrivercontent.NET/win/X17-58997.ISO 2147483647 English Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 X 17 - 58997.iso

Make sure that you got the file from xx GB 3. integers download, in rare circumstances, you get a full notification of download, but you do not receive the entire file to download.

After you download the ISO file, you can burn it to a DVD using the ISO file burn option on your DVD burning program, or you can use this tool to transfer the ISO to a flash USB DVD or 4 GB drive.

The tool also performs the bootable media.

Then go to the care of your laptop and driver page for available software and drivers that you need.

  • Satellite A300 - how to recover the operating system without a recovery disk?

First of all, sorry for my very bad English.

I bought a laptop Toshiba Satellite A300, PC 9 months ago. I had problems with a virus and result is that despite clean-up and disinfection, the computer is still infected and I refused access to the hard drives and regedit.

I thought restoring the operating system factory preinstaled (hopefully, this is the solution and not the formatting) and Barrie told me to check out http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm

I did it, but the PC it's imposible because there is no files. I don't have a rescue CD (if newbee).

    What can I do?

    Hello

Usually the A300 (European series) has been equipped with HARD drive recovery option which would be you allows to recover the laptop using the files on the HARD drive. But if this is not possible while something went wrong with the maybe HDD it s due to the infection by the virus

In any case if you are not able to recover the laptop using the recovery of HARD drive you need the recovery disc.
You can order it as suggested by resident on the other hand, you can use the MS Windows Vista disk and can download driver Toshiba page.

  • Is the system restore wiped XP Recovery disk space?

I definitely OE deleted messages, and then wipe the hard drive.  I need to do a restore of the system because of an annoying popup Windows start happened after deleting some files after you uninstall an HP printer.  A system restore will cancel the changes on the hard disk, allowing thus the recovery of these messages permanently deleted using Recuva or another program recovery?  That I don't want to happen as I am to get rid of the computer (I bought a new).

If you you debarrassez of your PC anyway, why not simply wipe the hard drive with a program of format-based security (Google can help)? Even if the system restore does not return emails, there is still a lot of information on this computer, so that you can not someone else access using a different type of deleted file recovery program. Never made a purchase online? Access your bank account? May make changes to your social security account or 401k? It's all there somewhere.

If this a brand like HP or Dell PC, you should have a recovery or disk partition which will allow you to restore the first day.  Which will be enough to thwart the average snooper a little better than average.
If it's not, and you have the OS disk, you can wipe it off yourself and do a clean install.

  • The difficulty to create a recovery disk

I tried following these steps from the Manual:

To create a system recovery media
    1. launch Dell backup and restore.
    2. click on the tile to recovery media.
    3. Select the USB Flash drive or disk, and then click on continue.
    4. follow the instructions on the screen.

I got to step 2 and saw a clock with rotation of the hands. After a few minutes, he showed that there are about 8GB of data, showed me that my optical drive has been selected, tells me to insert a blank disc, then click START.

START has been disabled.  I waited some time, but he remained in gray.

I thought I would try again, so I clicked on Cancel.  The clock began to run again, but the size of the file never changed from 0.

I cancelled again and completely early on in step 1 above.

Now all I have is a spinning clock which was run for 20 minutes.  I just stopped with the Task Manager.

    What now?

    Mystery solved!

When I bought my previous office, 6 or 7 years, the seller gave me a package of 50 without brand, Virgin, the DVD-R discs.  I don't burn many discs, so I still had half of them left, and I didn't have a problem with them in my old office.

I struggled to try to burn a DVD on my new i660.  Just for grins, I tried to burn a DVD on my laptop Dell Voestro 1500.  It seems to work, using Nero 7, but I don't check buy errors during combustion.  I tried several disks more, and non of them would work.  I just buy a package of new Kodak DVD-R disks.  I was able to burn the first person I've tried, then, just to see what would happen, I started the program backup and restore of Dell and got the Start button.  I was not in gray.  I don't mind not to burn, since I already have it on an SD card, but it looks like that was the problem.

How to re-create the recovery disc on my laptop in the series G Win 7? the original that was created when you purchase inadvertently been misplaced.

    Hi, Mireille,.

Under the terms of the OEM license, you can only create 1 set of recovery media - if you have misplaced the original game, you can still order a set of replacement of HP discs - the cost varies depending on where in the world you live, but they are generally inexpensive.

  • Satellite l.660-12 q - would the recovery disk rebuild the new HARD disk with a new recovery partition

Talk about confusion. Does anyone know how to get a Toshiba C660 work after the HARD drive failed and the owner has stupidly NOT followed the instructions to make a recovery disk. Will be the recovery disk (if buy you one from Toshiba) rebuild the new HARD disk with a new recovery partition and install windows 7 (original OS) and accept the product key printed on the Windows license, attached to the base of the laptop. I have read a number of suggestions, but these have been considered incorrect by others.

Surely, Toshiba must have a way to sort this problem.

    They read these messages?

    Hey Buddy

I don't think it's really complicated, that I could find all the information about the recovery procedure in the user's manual

The recovery disk must be created on the first day of purchase its recommended to create one in case something would be wrong with the HARD drive.

The recovery disk contains an image. The image is a package containing Win system, drivers, tools and all the stuff pre-installed on the notebook.
You bought the laptop and the system has already been activated so that you have need of t the key placed at the bottom of the unit.
In addition, the use of the recovery disc formats the drive HARD integer (partitions too) and set the laptop in the same condition as at the first day of the purchase.

There is also another option to recover the notebook called HARD drive recovery. This HARD drive recovery requires no recovery disk. The recovery disc HARD would be to use format ONLY partition C (System).
