G6-2262sa Pavilion: Pavilion g6 failure hard disk

Hello, I hope someone out there can help you.

I'm trying to fix a laptop Pavilliong6-2262sa for a friend who would not start at all.

I tried to use a system restore CD, but it did not work.

Initially I treid to perform a check of the hard drive, it would get to 99% and stops.

Now when I try to do a hard drive check, he says:

INTELLIGENT control: NOT INSTALLED

DST short: NOT INSTALLED.

IAM guess at this stage that the hard drive is fried. I can always get a new one that is is not question but how you go all re - install Windows 8 without go out and buy a copy because it is already installed on the machine.

Hope you can advise thew best plan of action.

@Sparky74,

Hello and thanks for posting back.  The product key is in the BIOS and is picked up during installation.

Thanks again and have a great day.

    Hello

I got a Smart disk error, and then I went through the hard drive test, finally got this code:

    GK0468-5AR712W-XD002K - 60A 203

    What should I do now?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Does that mean hard drive is faulty / failed.

Make your model have two hard drives, or is it only a configuration of hard disk?

You have to replace the failed with a new similar form factor.

Any notebook internal 9.5 mm good brand 2.5 inch SATA HDD would work.

If you are under warranty, HP will send you replacement free of charge.

You must use the recovery media after replacement, to restore factory settings.
If you do not, you have to order from HP in your area directly.

  • Satellite C660 - Diagnosis indicates a failure hard disk

Run the diagnostics on my two day old - Satellite C660 shows a failure on the hard drive. Check disk hard Windows ran without failure.

Can I assume that it is a false indication by diagnosis of Toshiba? The thread on this topic is not conclusive on this issue.

    Thank you Fred

    Hi frredi,

Diagnostic tool what you mean? It's the Toshiba Diagnostics tool that shows an error on the HARD disk?

If Yes, you must contact the seller of the laptop and ask for replacement laptop. Bad HARD drive sector you can still get but he s not recommendable to save important data in this regard.

So just give shop and take a new one. :)

  • Pavilion elite e9280t: hard disk failure

My HARD drive has failed. Can I replace my ST3750528AS (700 GB, 7200 RPM SATA) with the last disk of 1 TB of Seagate (ST1000DM003)? They also offer a player of games, ST1000DX001, listed by Seagate as a SSHD, whatever that means. This player works as well? I am looking for a quick replacement. All the other things I need to know about the replacement of this drive? I have the recovery disks that I did when I bought the system.

The ST1000DM003 should work fine as a replacement for the default ST3750528AS.  The SSHD is synonymous with hybrid system in the solid state (SSHD) of the Wiki.

If the ST3750528AS still works, you can clone that to the new drive, which will do everything currently on your system to always be there.

Investigate cloning if it seems attractive.

    Hello

I was using my laptop earlier when suddenly, it works correctly. I turned it off via the button with the intention to turn it back on again, however when trying to start up with a white screen. After a few minutes, he went to the auto repair, loading screen for 5-10 minutes, then returned to a blank screen.

The same thing happened when to use F11 to try a system restore. When none of these worked after several attempts, I used some F2 to run tests and received the QE47L2-7QP861-MFPWLJ-60TF03 error code.

Is anyone able to give advice on what to do?

    Here is the Service Manual:

See Page 39. It can take any 2.5 inch wide 9mm thick laptop SATA hard drive. They are the industry standard, interchangeable.

    Now what should I do?
    My model number is 17-f114dx
Please advice me a good way to solve this problem.

    Hello

Your laptop is listed as coming with a 750 GB hard drive - the drive on the following link is an example that would be perfect for your laptop.

    750 GB hard drive.

The procedure to replace the hard drive begins on Page 104 of your maintenance & Service Guide.

Once this is done, simply use your recovery DVD to reinstall the original operating system (Windows 8.1) on the new drive and then upgrade to Windows 10 once again.

A better option, as long as the previous installation of Windows 10 had activated Ok after the original 8.1 upgrade, would be to simply perform a new installation of Windows 10 as detailed in the guide on the following link.  Note: On the activation screen, select "I don't have a product key" - Windows will activate automatically once installation is complete.

  • Satellite L550 - SMART failure HARD disk reports early - what to do?

    Toshiba Satellite L550-113

At startup, I get a fault HARD drive reporting mini-message soon, and I am asked to by pressing F1 before will continue to Windows (Vista 32 bit).

The message of the Toshiba HDD application alert is as follows:

    Disk0
Your HARD drive is SMART failure to predict who monitors the HARD drive, operating status. Your HARD drive is facing a problem and CHIP controlling the software predicts that the HARD drive will fail. Toshiba strongly recommends that you create a backup for the data on your HARD drive. Contact an authorized service provider to check your drive and buy a new drive for replacement if necessary.

I ordered a new HARD drive to replace the failed HDD (can't be bothered p * ssing all with the support of the RMA and tech).

However, is it possible to repair the old HDD once it's been deleted? If I have the reformat, it would do anything, or is it more serious than that?

    Hello

What should do? Back up all your data as soon as possible. You have created recovery DVD?
If this is not the case, do. When you redeem your laptop HARD drive, you can use this recovery disc to install the operating system and have once again the factory settings.

What is with guarantee s notebook? I mean that if the warranty is still valid, you can request service Toshiba to replace HARD drive.

  • Satellite Pro A200 (PSAE4E) failure hard disk

    Hello

My computer is Satellite Pro A200 (PSAE4E) purchased Oct 2007, running Vista 32 bit. He was always a bit skittish and prone to crashing. The first time I ever did a Windows Update it projected blue, so I restored and never updated since.

The other day it started to emit beeps during startup, and while I could then get into, I think that the hard drive has failed, because now it runs very slow and crashes.

Think the forum that this laptop could never be made to be stable and reliable?

The hard drive is hard to change? I do it myself.

There the drive hard replacement somewhere online instructions?

Should what model of hard drive I install?
