The XPS 13 (9333) where the microphone?

Nice day

I use a device that communicates with the software via the microphone. The so-called instructions "put the device near the microphone" but where the microphone is located on the XPS?

Concerning
Thierry

Hello. It is under the screen. If you look at the top above the screen, in the Center is a group of camera and its light and sensor. Off to the right and to the left by an inch or two are 2 small holes. It is the pickups. They are part of the camera - all one unit.

If you go to the XPS 13 9333 assistance page and click on manuals you will see links to 3 documents. Quick start guide both specifications indicate the location of the physical characteristics of the laptop. (The other named document manual is the service manual for the replacement of parts).

On a forum thread, someone ' one supposed to allow Mike to front using what is shown in the screenshot (see my attachment). I don't see this Panel in one of SigmaTel tabs on my machine. Would have been on the XPS M1330 and M1530 models, you can use the driver IDT audio, R226903. It was reported to have helped with headset microphones in Skype. Might help with your problem with the microphone.

Installation of ITO it remove all other drivers audio driver of Dell's record. (Go to c:\dell\drivers\ to expand all the folders and subfolders it.) Delete all the files that have a subfolder named "WDM").  Reboot the laptop and let Windows Installer sound driver audio native. Download the R226903 and extract it to the default location, but cancel the automatic installation. Go in for the audio controller device manager. Right-click on it and choose Update driver. Select to manually locate the driver and let Windows not seek. Find c:\Dell\drivers\R226903, and then click "next". Turn it back on.

    Hello

I checked the features of this unit, and according to some descriptions internal microphone is NOT available. There is a mic jack. Here, you can connect the external microphone.

It is possible that some units of this series support and are delivered with the internal mic, but not the Satellite A100-756's.

For most operating instructions describes all the features on the series of the laptop. But not all units support all features.

  • What BT dongle to activate the microphone with Bluetooth headset?

    Hello

I recently bought a Bluetooth headset stereo with microphone so that I can use it to make calls from Skype (VoIP) through my Dell Inspiron laptop with factory Toshiba Bluetooth stack.

I could pair and connection between my laptop and the headset (Plantronics 590 A), but can not get the microphone to work. I spoke with the helmet provider who said the following:

If your computer has generated in Blue Tooth, it must support audio handsfree and A2DP profile. How you can find out is to go to start, programs, accessories, entertainment, select sound recorder, change, audio properties, and he has to say under sound, playback and sound recording or high quality BT or BT stereo if it's not you, it will take a dongle that supports the profiles of school boards.

Mine said 'wave of Toshiba Bluetooth".

They said that they could not recommend third party products. Therefore, I would be very grateful if someone could tell me what kind of Dongle that I need to solve this problem and ideally suggest where I could get one of (I'm in the United Kingdom). Thank you very much.

    Dewi.

    Hello

I agree with the JohnnyS. As far as I know that others of the A100 don t supported an internal microphone.
If you want to use the microphone, you will need to connect an external to the mic socket.

  • The microphone does not work

I have a new HP Envy 17-j1070ez where I can't have the microphone to work. I loaded successfully 8.1 Windows 64 bits on and use HP Support Assistant to install all available updates.

The sound works somehow, I hear the sound when changing the sound intensity. However, the sound control panel has 'no device installed.

Next for audio driver is reported in the support Wizard: IDT Audio - IDT - 1.0.6491.0

    Hi Mrstenter

Thanks for the reply, but this link leads to the version of the driver, I have already installed.

Furthermore, I got a replacement for my laptop, here it works. This is probably a hardware failure.

  • Change the volume of the microphone

original title: microphone make it stronger

How do you make your mic harder and get rid of the noise.

Go to start / Control Panel / Sound / recording devices and click the device you want to adjust, and then click Properties, and then click levels.  You will then see a scroll bar to adjust the volume of the microphone.  Click Custom to enable the Microphone Boost.  Click on advanced to select the sound quality in a menu drop-down (another quality can eliminate the noise).

There may be other controls according to your device (or there may be less, or they may be arranged differently) - but for the most part, this is the place where you make adjustments.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

Hey! :) right click on the speaker in the taskbar button. Click recording devices. Double click on the microphone inside. Then you should see a checkbox that says enable audio enhancements. I know I've seen somewhere that I could check things like "bass boost, noise reduction, etc.". But I can't remember where, unless I see more... but it's what the audio accessory... so, it should reduce the noise. :)
