  The optical disk drive is placed on the left side and there should be an eject button.

  I have a brand new HP DSX 16 and I am now setting up Vista and everything.

  I also bought a norton Internet Security 2009, so I was about to install it.

  Here is my story:

  1. I opened the box of Norton Internet Security 2009 to get the CD

  2 - I press the eject button on my laptop DVD player = nothing happens

  3 - I press the eject button which is above my keyboard. The mouse seems to be in the mode of "Hourglass" for 1 second and nothing happens

  4. I reboot and install all updates

  5. I searched google and this forum and found nothing

  6. I tried to push with a PIN to manually open the drive and nothing works. It seems that I can't push something to open.

  What should I do?

  EDIT: OK, problem seems to be fixed. I pushed harder with the PIN to manually open the drive. I was afraid to break something first! Now the work of eject button...

  Using a paper clip are you able to open the drive manually? The drive activity light flashes when accessing the drive?

  Should I avoid downloading Realplayer bc I find that Youtube can not be downloaded on PC at all... Are there other 'Free' approaches offered by Windows 7 itself which would work better?  There is "RealPlayer Plus" for $39.99, which is constantly be announced; but I don't know if it's worth the price. -Pls help me with this problem. I am not very practical with technical and computer stuff & there is a lot of material family & Sports I would like to transfer to television for the other family.

  Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables at both ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and contacts data with a pencil eraser.

  Thanks for posting on the Microsoft Answers forum.  We cannot guide you more precisely by changing the BIOS settings that the BIOS settings are specific to your motherboard.  However, most (if not all) parameters of the BIOS have an option to restore the default BIOS (sometimes called "default opitimized").  It may be an option in the menu that you highlight, then press enter or it can be assigned to an F key and States at the bottom of the screen, press F? for the default settings.  I hope this helps.  If you are still not able to reset, check with the manufacturer of PC for more information about the BIOS.   You have now returned the computer to a previous restore point using Mode safe mode with command prompt.

  Versions of Firefox 3.6 + have a feature to allow the user to hide the Menu bar.

  Press the Alt key to temporarily show the Menu bar, then open view > toolbars and select menu bar, so it has a check mark.

  I got burned a DVD with Nero 7 premium, but when I play in the dvd player, it works idle all the time. Other movies are played normally (so the problem is not the dvd player phillips), this only happens with the ones I burned in my new Toshiba laptop.
