There is no system restore Windows XP Home Edition 15/07/12, Service Pack II, XP Pro will not load, I'm stuck in 2005 with no possibility of update. Help!

The title says it all.  I had to restore XP Home Edition to 2005 this weekend, and there is no cure for update, loading Service Pac II.  XP Pro Service Cap does not load when I copy it to my hard drive, all close and try to run.

Where is XP Home Edition Service Pac II?  No service PAC II, no service PAC III, no ability to update, I get the error of 4000A dreaded etc..   Hate buying a new 'box' just at this moment.

Thank you.

  • I reinstalled Windows XP Home Edition on a Dell Optiplex GX260, and now I can not conntect to the internet.

I am going through the help pages, but do not receive a lot of help. I used the window network, set up several times and it doesn't give me a single connection and even will not create a second try. It's 1394 connection. I click Repair and he says: "failed to query TCP/IP connection parameters. Cannot continue. »
I normally work with unix/linux, windows do not know. Carrying high that IE gives me the generic, the page cannot be displayed error. It goes right to that error, does not even attempt verify an active connection.
I have one router with 3 other systems connected and working, so I know that the problem is specific to this host.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

Just as with * nix, if you want a hardware device to communicate with the operating system - you must install the appropriate drivers so that they can talk to each other.

At this point, you are trying to use a firewire connection (1394) to your network. ;-)

What you need to do is quite simple - but will probably require the use of another machine (or another OS already on the machine that runs on Internet) at least for the first downloads (the motherboard chipset and the NIC driver).

If you visit the Dell technical support & downloads from the website for this particular desktop , you will see all the drivers that Dell provides for the system using Windows XP.

Dell offers you download and install the drivers in this order:

    • Chipset
    • Video adapter
    • (NIC) Network Interface Card
    • Audio adapter
    • Modem
    • Wireless network card
    • Touchpad, pointer, pointing button, mouse and keyboards
    • Other devices

In this case, I suggest that download you the chipset driver and network card driver - get first install them in this order with some necessary reboots, then you should be able to configure Internet and get other drivers using the machine itself.

  • Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1 (64-bit) will not download completely stuck at 95%

I tried to install Service Pack 1 of Windows today on my laptop.  On one of my laptops with Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit operating system Windows Update downloaded (with 4 other updates) in about an hour and installed successfully during the shut down and restart.

However on my laptop main used with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit Service Pack 1 stops downloading (although he says he always download or seems to be) to 95%.  The first time that I tried to download with 3 other updates to Windows, and it stuck.  I finally stopped after about 7 hours with it stuck at 95%.  Isolated, the other downloads and downloaded and installed after the reboot and did it in less than 15 minutes.  Then began to try to download only the Service Pack 1.  It has now been underway for six hours and is still stuck on download of 95%.

Another forum on the web had a message that the Service Pack 1 with Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit will not download if you have installed language packs.  (Those who took me about 3-4 days to install and download due to make them one at a time because as a group they would get hung up.)  So I hope that I did not remove the language packs to get this Service Pack 1 installed on this machine.  I hope that Microsoft would have tested on a computer in Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit with language packs installed but maybe not...

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I GAVE TO MY VISTA NOW, I HAVE JUST AS MUCH TROUBLE I DID BEFORE.  ABSOLUTELY, NO DOWNLOAD FROM ANYWHERE.  I WOULD BE HAPPY TO RETURN TO XP.  DEE

I feel for you Dolores it was extremely painful and tedious experience.  The final fix for my computer was going back to the origin by default with Windows Vista Home Premium on my computer.  Then load the software Windows 7 Ultimate.  Then the installation of updates about 100 + Windows which took place including Windows 7 SP 1.  All this has been done before loading another software (except Firefox and Chrome) on my computer.  I did it too before my security software loading, which – incidentally, roughly double the speed of downloads and other features of the computer.  Then after all the updates for Windows 7 has been done, I loaded with Microsoft Office Applications and its many updates.  After that I loaded my security software and checked for viruses.  Then rebuilt all the other features, software customization, etc. of this computer.  Literally, it took over a month to return to the same functionality that it had before the Windows 7 SP1 crashed the computer.  All I can say is thank God that I am religious about backing up files and folders, so I think I got about 95% of my files, folders, etc.

Since the reconstruction, I didn't "major" problems with Windows 7, but I cringe when I update Windows 7 via their process of updating every Tuesday.  I also try to update not updates at the same time or too large sizes in the updates, even if it takes more time to do it this way.  I also reboot after each update whether necessary or not.  I run two registry cleaners different at least once a week, or even more often as since the failure of catostrophic SP 1 of the operating system.

I will say this though, a lot of programs/software, I had that wouldn't work with Vista, all of a sudden work again with Windows 7.

    Good luck!

  • Updates for Windows Vista service pack 2 (64-bit) will not download.

I have tried to download and install the monthly updates for Vista service pack 2 (64-bit) since 12 August 2016 and he helped run it for hours on end, but failed to get them to download.  I also had problems getting my Essentials Microsoft update regularly since then as well.  My computer has continued to run as if it strives to move things, but nothing is really happening.  Can anyone help please, it is extremely frustrating that are constant stops of Explorer Windows that many know.

    Manually install KB3177725.

  • Upgrade Windows XP Home Edition purchased. Lost product key number because file missing during the move. Have the box with bar code. What should I do to install the upgrade without the key to 27 characters?

No detail, lack just the key needed to install the upgrade.

    Hi Ytsircfay,

Unfortunetly Microsoft cannot generate new without the old keys product keys. I look on the machine, if it's OEM and see if there is a key on it. If this isn't the case, then you will need to buy new software with a key.

  • My Acrobat 7 Pro will not load on my new computer Windows 10.

Responsible Disarmament Conference, but failed to save. I have been authorized to work for a 30-day grace period, but now Acrobat won't let me open PDF files and fails to register.

There is no support for the call and download a new application has also failed to accept my serial number or provide a new.

No help for older clients who bought the CD?

Actually, to be very clear, on behalf of Adobe, this is not a question of Acrobat 7 does not work correctly, but rather that Acrobat 7 does certainly not fully or correctly on Windows 10. The ability to install and to use the instance of printer driver Adobe PDF PostScript for PDF creation under what anyone beyond Windows XP requires Acrobat 8.1 or later!

  • updates for windows 7 Home Edition problems

I have a HP Pavilion computer processor AMD Sempron 140 2.70 GHZ, 3.00 GB, usable 2.75 GB installed memory. Type of system 64-bit operating system. Windows 7 Home Edition, service pack 1.

My problem began two months ago, every time that microsoft windows does an automatic update, and then restarts, my screen goes gray and I have to close it using the power button. After doing that it would hire up to my regular office, yesterday it downloaded and got the gray screen, tried to make a closed hard but when he started to log on again it wouldn't start. I had to log on in safe mode with internet connection. They suggested to do a restore, I did that 3 times, still would not start upward using normal startup. He then began using the repair tool on its own and after 45 minutes, I was able to log on and come back to my office. Now I have disabled the automatic update of windows and am afraid to install updates at all. Y at - it something I can do what I can to keep updated on my updates.

    Thanks for your help,

    Hello Jackie,.

Thanks for posting your question on the Forums of community of Microsoft.

According to the description, I see that after the automatic updates of Windows you computer gives the gray screen.

To better assist you, please answer these questions:

    1. do you get an error message?

    2. What is the item number of kb of the update you have installed?

I suggest you follow the provided methods to solve the problem:

Method 1: run the clean boot:

Perform a clean boot to determine if any 3rd party service is causing the issue:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After performing the steps to clean boot troubleshooting, follow step 3 from the link to start the computer to Normal startup mode.

    Method 2:

Temporarily disable the security software and check if it helps.

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable the antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network at the time the anti-virus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Note: Try to install the updates after these two methods, restart the computer and verify if you are able to install the updates.

  • Windows XP Home deselection of read-only on the FlexNet Adobe folder do not stick.

I have Adobe Creative Suite 3 and all programs except for InDesign. It comes up with an error message that says license has stopped working. Adobe lists several solutions, all that I tried with one exception that I couldn't because a step said to uncheck the read-only option for one of its folders named FlexNet. However, when I do this it deselects but it does not stick, if I look back at it now read-only is enabled. On a side note, in the same solution for XP Home it also says to disable Simple file sharing which is right impossible?

Yes, the Adobe instructions sound as if they are not familiar with Windows XP Home Edition. First of all, the read-only attribute is not applicable to records in any version of Windows - XP, Vista or Windows 7. That's why you see the behavior you are reporting. And as you point out, you cannot disable Simple file sharing in XP Home. In all cases, the Simple file sharing (which controls how a computer connects to other computers in the Local network) is likely to have something to do with InDesign does not.

I'm sorry that I'm unable to help you with this issue of Adobe, however. I guess you have uninstalled/reinstalled the program? If this isn't the case, you should try it. You may find an answer by posting in the InDesign user forum:
