There series Ideapad overheating?

I had an idea of series ramp of Y for about a year now, and just recently, he seems to have overheating problems. It worked fine until a few months ago, then after running for a while, he began to occasionally power off during use. I usually just rebooted and he would go again. Over time this becamse more frequent and now I get around 15-30 minutes the lamp use (internet explore or simply sitting on the desk) and she will either turn off or freeze and completely lock up, sounds sometimes continue and windows are sometimes clickable (but fail) but not draggable or minimizable.

I can do to remedy this?

Well... Thank you all for allowing me to tell my problem but I think that the problem is solved!

I have re-downloaded the drivers from the website of lenovo and so far the computer power management works well then THAT PLUGGED IN!

I'll report if it's temporary, otherwise, peace!

  • Satellite P105-S9722 - overheating?

I have a P105-S9722 and its great. But I have a question where there will be overheating continuely. He did not always do that.
I checked to make sure that the fan ports are not blocked or dusty.
I think it's a driver problem, but cannot isolate it.

To be honest, for a simple solution, I would like to find software that would allow me to run the fan at full speed. I was not able to locate this software at this time however.
If anyone know of a way to force a P105-S9722 by fans to speed please let me know, thanks

Are you sure that there is no accumulation of dust?

The system must be dismantled and checked by a technician to ensure its totally clean. An ASP can do for you.

Other causes could be the heatpipe has disclosed its cash, the CPU thermal paste has dried up or the fan has a problem.

  • Satellite M30x - kicks from cooling fan and overheating

    Hello..

I just thought I'd post what I was looking for an answer why my cooling fan suddenly engage kicking in every 30secs or if. My machine is new, so I knew it wasn't dust on the fan, but it was really boring after being so quiet when first bought. Anyway I had updated the memory of 2 x 256 MB 1 x 256 and 1 x 512 MB (Crucial) as a Christmas gift to myself.
I just thought that I would be back to original memory because the plastic cover was really hot and I was wondering if that was originally.
The problem has been resolved. Fan comes barely at all! If additional memory is to overheat the machine.
Hope that it will use on the Forum

    Hello Fred

It is always interesting to read about new experiences. But in your case you should not think that there is a problem with the memory upgrade. I'm sure that you have used two different modules. In other words, a new module was probably more quickly while the original and there reason for overheating.

In my opinion, you should use the module recommended by Toshiba and try it again. Compatible 512 MB module has PA3312U - 1 M 51 part number.

  • IdeaPad Y400 keyboard broken after installation of Ubuntu. Sent in, Lenovo has sent back still broken.

I have a Y400 Ideapad, purchased in December 2012, delivered with Windows 8. He has recently due to a malfunction after trying to install Ubuntu as a secondary OS. It was very difficult to get installed Ubuntu because UEFI and Secure Boot really tried to stop him, but I have finally installed it and the two operating systems, has been working for about 24 hours. Then, Ubuntu was able to start. On several occasions. Then I started Windows and it seemed that he was working again, except that from time to time when I tried typing, the keyboard type keys I had not touched and then stop responding for about 30 seconds. After that, it would still work for a little while.

I ran OneKey Recovery to try to solve this problem, wiping my hard drive and reinstall Windows 8 from scratch. Still doesn't solve it. He actually glitched once while I was still setting to the top of my Windows profile, before he had even started for the first time.

So I sent my laptop for Lenovo and, a week later, they sent back with a new keyboard (despite me telling them that it probably wasn't the problem). He worked for the next few days, but as of today, he started glitching again, much. I don't want to send my laptop for Lenovo again because I need for the class I'm taking. Also, when they sent it the first time, they have not even put it together right. The rear panel was not at bottom, and panel below which was actually folded so that one of its tabs fit on the side of my laptop instead of being inside.

I really need to solve this problem, but I'm doubting the capacity of Lenovo to do, and I don't want keep it will send if it simply means that I won't have a laptop for 1-2 weeks and then I'll get it broken back yet more. Also, I need even Ubuntu, even if they do not fix it then I have to reinstall Ubuntu and it will probably break again. Not to mention, they will probably wipe my data from it.

    Found a thread discussing this:

    http://forums.Lenovo.com/T5/IdeaPad-Y-U-V-Z-and-P-series/IdeaPad-Y400-keyboard-auto-typing-and-out-o...

Turns, the Y400s have a defect. If you select always "on USB" in the BIOS / menu UEFI, it messes up your keyboard. I have activated it when I was trying to get my computer to recognize a USB boot.

I'm surprised a Lenovo support is not already aware of it. I talked to Lenovo about a dozen employees, including a supervisor and a representative of the customer relationship and no one suggested she could relate to my BIOS settings.

  • Lenovo V series simultaneous keyboard / Trackpad editions.

So after a year and a half trying to get Lenovo to replace my Thinkpad Edge 14, I decided finally enough was enough and has managed to get an Ideapad again. I got the Y510 two or three years back, and it was / is still a fantastic camera! However, the specifications are old, and any evolutionary material is a bottleneck by an old integrated card.

in any case, now, I am the owner of a V470 and this is a feature of research very very elegant, the speakers are very well (they certainly can't compare to my Y510 Dolby with Sub), but the most desirable feature is 525M 1 GB nVidea discrete graphics.

So I fire, load something simple: Minecraft.

    .

Then it happened. My hands mistaken? How is it possible that the keyboard can NOT work at the same time as the Trackpad?

I press and hold W for go ahead, try to turn: I get nothing. I'll stop now the W key, using the Trackpad will return to normal. IM moving the autour slider to ensure a directional movement fluid, all works here... so I press W to begin moving, always moving the cursor: I get nothing.

I want to know if this is 1 of 3 things.

    1. a driver problem. The solution simpler, of course, but it does not stop the question to be less boring up to this point. (While all my Windows updates are good... so I'm fearing that the solution won't be so easy.)

    2. a hardware problem. Somehow, maybe in the Assembly of this device, something is not connected to the right or something was not welded during manufacture of the motherboard (even if it's all PC making Assembly micro... so I doubt that the latter). This would force me to face to regain a Lenovo computer, BUT again, however, I am willing to make the sacrifice in time because I am very satisfied with all the other features in retrospect to his old unit.

    3. a design flaw which is not rectifiable. It's the most likely scenario, and one that I hope is not the case. However if this is the case, can someone give recommendations of laptops series IdeaPad with discrete graphics (at least a 525M nVidia or ATI equivalent) that can simultaneously have Trackpad / keyboard use?

I can not understand as to WHY such a function intentionally would disappear, what is the point of a laptop if I have to tie a mouse whenever I want to play. -.-

This thread can be closed. It was check the Palm, for some reason it was turned on,-.-

This is a great feature... If you don't game, however, since games > worry about accidentally hitting the trackpad with my palm, that does not fly.

  • Fan with Satellite L10

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite L10 and in the past months, he has been making more more more hot that I use. There occaisionally off overheating - once the fan had been working uninterrupted since the start. last week the fan completely stopped working. And now the laptop stay for less than 10 minutes, overheats and shuts down.

I cleaned the fan better as I could, but unlike other laptops, there is no way to remove it from its position to clean. Is it possible to have the fan replaced? Someone at - it any other suggestions as to what may be the issue? There is no other symptoms aside from the fan is spinning at all.

I can't really have to do with buying a new laptop that I am a student and lack funds a little to replace it. If anyone has useful directions for steps to resolve this problem, it would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks in advance!

    Oli

    Hello

In my opinion, the fan and the malfunctions cooling module and it should be replaced or cleaned professionally.
It very stupid situation of s that the guarantee is not valid more, but as the previous user said the laptop must be verified by an authorized partner.

Anyway, there is another possibility. You can visit a nearest computer technician and may ask for a professional cleaning. If the professional cleaning and new thermal grease will not help to prevent the overheating of laptop I recommend to replace the cooling modules.
Each part can be ordered from the ASP in your country.

By the way; I found a statement detailed how open the Satellite L25. This series of laptop is very similar to the L10.
    http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/ToshibaL25/satellite_L25_laptop_overclocking_1.htm

But note; If you don't have any experience please don t remove the lids and don t disassemble the laptop yourself!

  • Flex 14 d Windows 7 drivers

    Hello!

I should have visited the productwebsite before buying a laptop that seemed ok at first glance spontaneously.

Apart from minor inconveniences, like it, the laptop comes with Windows 8.1 and the F - keys are available via the extra fn key, he looked like a nice product.
The first thing I noticed is back at home, that there is no CD or any other physical backup of the OS/Setup.
Well, I can live with that. I went back to the store and buy an external cd drive to get rid of Windows 8.1

After I installed Windows 7, I searched drivers.
They are only for windows 8!

    http://mobilesupport.Lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/Flex-series/IdeaPad-Flex-14d-not...

Well, I tried to install the drivers of win8, most of them work, except for the most important: the graphics driver.

More: I can't change my brightness more.

Is there something I can do? I really want to use Win7 and not Win8.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Given that the laptop came with no key series, CD or something else, I can't return win8 anyway. I erased the hard drive before installing win7.

    TL; DR

Downgraded Win8 to Win7 on my ideapad flex14D.

Are there drivers to work for her?

Especially the VGA driver gives me this message:

your system does not meet the conditions required for the chosen components

    Thank you!

Try these generic graphics drivers from AMD:
    -Windows 7 x 86: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/mobile?os=Windows%207%20-%2032
    -Windows 7 x 64: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/mobile?os=Windows%207%20-%2064

But in my opinion what you try to do is buy a Porsche and then put a motor 2hp inside. Windows 8 will give you a much better experience than Windows 7.

  • Cannot restore Y500 - missing partition Recovery.

I had two of the same OS Windows 8.1 on my Y500 (cloned from the original SSD). Then, last night I tried to 'refresh without affecting your files' option for my OS on the HARD drive so I have a new OS to go back to incase anything happened. then on the screen of Lenovo, it said that the E: drive is being updated as well so I panicked and turned off the computer. Now, I can't access either of the OS. What should I do? I made a return to the top just before and aft of the files are still there in a partition on the HARD drive, I did. I used a boot Puppy LInux USB to see the files on my HARD drive but it wouldn't let me transfer it to an external hard drive. I'll try to install a linux better and try to transfer the OKR files to another drive.

-How would I go about restoring the backup of files if I were to bring on another drive?

    Hello

Look at this post where I explained how to install windows on the Y500 without the restore partition. Remember that your license key is integrated in the system, you don't need a key:

In fact, I got the fan works for someone who cares. There was a slight clicking sound coming from the it. (click, click, click on...) I turned the laptop on the side (running) for about 30 seconds and started the fan turning. Not sure if something he obstructs or if dust is causing, but it works now. I bought a new fan of ebay, just in case it stops working again. I cross my fingers.

I never heard of something like that it s really strange that you must remove the battery before you start the computer
Do you use the of original AC/DC adapter and battery?

What you might try is updated the BIOS. You can find it on the Web from Toshiba website.

But my personal opinion: it s a hardware malfunction and that means you need professional help from an ASP :(

  • Re: Satellite M30 604: update BIOS to disable checking of fan/temperature

    Hi all!

    I am a (satisfied) owner of a Satellite SM30-604.

It chanced that the internal fan broke and I managed to provide enough air "fresh" with other fans of two. Let me point out very well on this point: there is no overheating problems. But no fans are now connected to the motherboard (Intel odem i855pm-333, I guess).

Then, it appens when CPU reached 70-72 ° C (this is a normal temperature for this architecture), the mobo to slow down the processor, centrino M (1600 MHz) at a frequency which, roughly speaking, one quarter (400 MHz), leaving the laptop useless.

So my point is: is there a BIOS (also unofficial, modded or what else...) which can turn off checking of the temperature/fan motherboard?

    I'll help apriciate!

    ALE

PS: my current BIOS is Phoenix v1.70. I can't find an official update.

    > So my point is: is there a BIOS (also unofficial, modded or what else...) which can turn off checking of the temperature/fan motherboard?
No, there is no such BIOS.
What you can do is change settings in Toshiba Power Saver for energy savings (I assume you are using Win XP).
So Toshiba Power Saver you can change the method of control of the CPU to fixed and processing speed of the CPU to the next level.
