ThinApp licenses in a Citrix XenApp environment

We try to understand the client for a license model ThinApp applied where it is deployed via Citrix XenApp / Terminal Server Services.  We have an application with ThinApp and stored on a single file server.  We have a farm of servers Citrix XenApp edition this request to a group of users.  My questions are:

1. the client license ThinApp apply to concurrent users who are instatiating the application and it looks Citrx notice?  In other if I have 50 concurrent users should words I 50 ThinApp client licenses?

2. the client license ThinApp applies to the Citrix server that publishes the application?  In other words if I have 50 Citrix XenApp / Services Terminal Server servers do I need 50 ThinApp client licenses regardless of the number of users access the application servers?

3. the license ThinApp applies to the device that is running the Citrix client to 'see' the application?  In other words if I have 50 users who use the application that is published by Citrix, but they all use a single workstation at different times of the day would be I just need a ThinApp client license?  What happens if I had 1 user who uses up to 50 different jobs during his week of work - which would mean that I need 50 client licenses?

ThinApp is allowed per the client access.  Thus, customers 50 = 50 licenses.

Here is a document explaining the licenses.  http://KB.VMware.com/kb/1006248

  • RemoteScan & Citrix Xenapp 6.5 crashing issue

We run RemoteScan v9.706 in our environment with Citrix xenapp 6.5. We have some users report the citrix session crashing in the middle of a scan using the remotescan software. The crash does not seem to match the frequency or number of pages, but happens enough to disrupt the workflow of our users. This never reported, are there suggestions to solve this problem?

Hello. From your description, some troubleshooting may be required before we can imagine what could cause this problem. Please contact our support at [email protected] team.

  • Installation of Citrix XenApp

    Hello

I try to install install_flashplayer15x32_mssd_aaa_aih.exe on a Windows 7 computer to use Citrix XenApp.  When you run the executable setup file displays a gray box and nothing else:

    FlashInstaller.JPG

I tried to update Windows root certificates, but that made no difference.  No idea what I can do about it.

    Thank you

It is a Citrix dialog box, not a Flash Player dialog box.  It seems that the option "No, do not optimize the content" in this dialog is selectable, how much you can probably dismiss.

Citrix * is * a license to distribute a version of Flash Player that they have optimized for use in virtualized environments. However, I am not familiar enough with it to offer your support.  You will need to talk to them on this subject.  I start from the premise that your network administrator must make available or something.

You can read more about it here:

  • Cannot uninstall/remove Citrix XenApp Plugin Weg

We cannot delete an incorrect version of Citrix XenApp Weg Plugin downloaded last week.  It says "prepare to remove", then another window comes up saying "Please wait while Windows configures Citrix XenApp Plugin Weg", then a third window appears saying "your client installation cannot continue.  The Setup program detects that a client already exists on your device which can be changed by an administrator.  To upgrade this client contact your administrator. "  It appears after declaring first that's about to remove the program, he then tried to run the program.  We have not had any problems uninstalling other programs and should be administrator on this computer, because we have been the sole owners.

    Hello LindaH0802,

Read the following article from Citrix on the removal of the XenApp Web Plugin:

  • Creative cloud Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) through Citrix XenApp 6 / 6.5.

We would like to deploy the cloud creative Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) through Citrix XenApp 6 / 6.5.  Does anyone know if this is possible - y at - it deployment guides.  I couldn't find anything, so I guess it is not officially in charge.

    Thank you

    Stuart

We have some of the products installed. You'll find they work fine, but nothing replaces the work on-site.

We are, however, using the Enterprise version that is not related to accounts of clouds.

We had to play with the Citrix video settings for best quality. If you their ratchet up to high for someone who makes high-end edition your performance is significantly reduced. The screen refresh is blocky and nobody does this work it would be usable.

We have it there fore a simple installation and management of our media. I'm looking for a better storage solution which is shareable on several platforms and locations.

  • ThinApp licenses

When I bought the ThinApp licenses, I had two serial # s in an e-mail.  A 'customer of ThinApp 4' no serial and a Packer 'ThinApp 4 Virtualization' serial No.  Each of these forums are and where they should be applied?  Packager series # I put in my Win 7 VM I use to create packages and everything seems to work fine with this.  Don't know what the client license is supposed to be for or, the case of applying it.  Thank you!

The 'customer ThinApp 4' serial No. is not used for anything else... Just something we automatically generate for unknown reasons... Just put the key in Manager links, and you're ready to go...

  • Citrix Xenapp

I know there are a lot of recommendations on how to configure Xenapp on VMware but what edition of Xenapp most people do use?

    Thank you

Editions Citrix Xenapp 4.5/5.0 Advanced, Enterprise, or Platinum will work as well on Vmware. It depends on which features of Citrix, you need like RM, Access Gateway, Edgesite, etc.. All just as well run on Vmware.

  • Do I need Adobe Reader license during the installation of Citrix XenApp or image?

The following deployment deployments Citrix - Guide of Business Administration article explains that, "Adobe requires that organizations have a valid license of Acrobat software for each user who has access to Acrobat on the Citrix server. Not that this means that I have to buy a user multi license during the installation of Adobe Reader, a free to use the product on a front end of Citrix?

I thinapp had and deploy Visio 2010 in our environment.  Just make sure that preinstall you the Office 2010 for App-V deployment kit before your capture and the computer targets.

  • VMware ThinApp licenses

I did a demo of Vmware ThinApp product and loved it.  I see a lot of use of the product, BUT I do not understand the licensing.  I bought the product and it shows that it comes with 50 clients.  Who are these customers?  Each device I could use this thinapp on should this client software?

OK, each device needs a client license.

    Best regards

  • T610 customer bad name in Citrix XenApp

    Hello

I ve a very strange problem with my T610 ThinClients. I ve renamed the computer after deploying my immage ThinClient. When a user connects to a CitrixFarm in the Citrix ManagementConsole still shows the original hostname of the computer ThinClient and not the "renamed a.

The Control Panel on the computer ThinClient shows the new host name.

    Thanks for your help.

    Martin

What is the OS of your t610?

    If it's WES09 or WES7.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\ICA Client

    "ClientName"="mytc.

Please try to remove "ClientName" and do a test.

If this isn't the case, work, maybe you can try your TC name to "ClientName".

  • Through Citrix XenApp 6.5 application deployment

    Hello

We have recently migrated our Citrix 6.5 applications. An application in particular behaves not as it was in the previous version. There is a meeting of suspension available in the application that would impose a window minimized, sitting on the taskbar where the user can log back into the application to the point they suspended. The function suspends work in 6.5, but does not show the minimized window. I ALT - tab to see the suspended session. Any advice.

    Thank you

    John.

This issue is beyond the scope of this site (for consumers) and to make sure you get the best answer, we need to ask either on Technet (for IT Pro) or MSDN (for developers)

In truth, your best bet is probably to contact the developer
  • Taskbar of Citrix XenApp 6.5/RDP in front of the taskbar

My users on my citrix farm launch the RDP application (MSTSC.exe) in the Web Interface to connect to their desktop computer Windows Vista/7 to work.  The task bar they see initially are the taskbar of their PC at home instead of the taskbar to their work PC.  They can minimize then maximize demand and (most of the time) corrects the problem temporarily, until they connect to next time.

I contacted Microsoft and they had me install a few patches that didn't say it was directly for this problem, but to go ahead and install it.  It made no difference.  I installed the latest version of Citrix Hotfix (2) and a few other Citrix offers Microsoft patches.  Which none has solved this problem.
We get the same results if we use the latest version of the Citrix Receiver customer or not.  I saw a video on YouTube that shows the problem of taskbar RDP and I don't think they were going thru Citrix in their video, so I don't think that as a matter of Citrix.
In Citrix I can set the screen resolution to a percentage less than 100% (window) so that users can see their full screen and the taskbar and taskbar of their PC at home just under the window, but if I do that, my two monitors users will not get this feature.

I fixed this by changing the setting in the .rdp file, in the line "winposstr:" once this has been set correctly I got fullscreen with the taskbar of PC home behind the taskbar to work PC.
