ThinkServer diagnostic disk

I have read the manual page 60, he explains how to create a 'Diagnostic' drive by going to http://www.lenovo.com/supportand our new ThinkServer TS200v (0981-1). Well, I visited the site, but I am unable to find the image anywhere on the site. Could someone tell me please in the right direction? Thank you!

This version should work:

  • HARD disk error 03F1

I have a laptop HP pavilion dv6 under Win 7 OS. Whenever I STOP and turn on again, it starts normally. But whenever I RESTART, I get an error of hard disk with error code (03F1). I ran the diagnostic disk HARD BIOS test several times, but there is no error. Restore windows with 'Out of Box' option of HP recovery disks, but no change. I have delete all partitions, used a software for HDD Low Format, but the conditions were the same. I made a disc of HP recovery factory reset, but nothing has changed.

What is the best solution, replace my Toshiba 500 GB HARD disk with a new one or to ignore the error? It's about 1 month I have this problem. There is no suspended, frost-free and so on. It works well, but who knows, I am a software programmer and I can't trust my mobile. I'm worried about an accident that could be a disaster.

  • A33 satellite will not start on the hard drive even after the installation of the new system

Hello, I need help, my A33 does not start on a hard drive. It is to see the drive hard in the bios and even by operating the drive when you go to install. But as soon as it will boot to the hard drive, it is just a black screen. It is very strange that you can see the hard drive in the bios and even with a diagnostics disk. I can see, scan it and check it by starting with a diagnostic disk, but when I start the computer, it doesn't do anything.

    Help please!

When you use bootable disk for the installation of the OS is properly recognized HDD?

  • No boots motorcycle no G580 os

Hello everyone, I don't know why this is happening to me. My laptop is lenovo G580 i5 4gbddr3 500 GB hard drive. There after Win10 Win7 Ubuntu14 config default os is win10. I was using the shut down windows 7 lappy and went to play. Now, if I try to launch it boote, lenovo display anything after that no boot loader screen. Hard drive is detected as I removed the battery, turn off the bios reset after boot uefi. But without success it just does not start. Linux Live USB is detected and the hard drive is also detedcted. Any help. I need in an emergency. Thanks in advance.

I would like to use EasyBCD bootable CD/DVD to see if it can restore your bootloader files. Also go with Mint Live DVD and see if you can mount the hard drive, if tests above to see if you have failures showing so try SMART running.

Also - good idea to back up user files / documents / music / etc... on a flash drive when running Mint of the DVD - in the case, you will need to replace the hard drive.

Finally - if nothing else does, try to boot from the button Lenovo, go to BIOS and run the diagnostic disk, if all claire - restart and use recovery tools to take back to factory settings. This destroys all the (data) partitions on the hard drive and back to the loadout plant.

    Good luck.

  • Several error messages... HARD drive may be bad?

I'll try to do this as no confused as possible.  Almost a week ago, I had a .sys file go bad on my Vista pc.  Re-installed windows.  Today, I was in the middle of a game and it crashed gives me a blue screen with an error of paging file and perhaps said a driver of command was bad (I don't take to take a break and read entirely at the time).  Reboot the pc and it says windows does not start.  Restart using the disc repair system, ran, and he informed me that he fixed something in the hard drive and run the control disc.  It started but I tried to click on all programs informed me that a device was bad.  So I put it to run chkdsk when it restarted, and he says that he was unable to open the drive.  Now whenever I reboot I get a blue screen or error message different each time that involve a driver or a bad camera.  OK fine I'll just reinstall windows again and format the HDD.  After several attempts, I finally get to start the installation of windows and mid install, I got a blue screen with error PFN_LIST_CORRUPT.  Should I throw in the towel and recognize that the drive is bad?  All except one error messages involve bad drivers or external devices, but I have no device, except the keyboard and mouse attached.  Maybe potential virus?   It crashes when I try to enter the BIOS, almost forgot to mention that.

If you want to get to the bottom of the problem, you go through stages of diagnosis, eliminating what it cannot be. The logic to do first are those that don't cost you money by, for example, to buy a new hard drive.

If you ran the diagnostic memory microsoft from a bootable CD or floppy, and then get the best test to use the T option and test each stick individually.

If you have another hard drive that you can use then it would also be proper diagnosis to try it to see what happened. Can put you the suspect drive in another PC, download and run the diagnostic disk from the manufacturer in this regard?

If not all get too much for you then I suggest take the PC to a local repair shop, ideally one that you can get a recommendation on.

I can't pass comment on your experience Ubuntu except to say that if it is a hardware error it will not go away, simply because you are using Ubuntu.

  • Help! KERNAL_STACK_ERROR Windows Vista

Hello.  A complete fool with computers, I got a BSOD arise these last time, and I'd love to help solve. I am running Vista Home Premium Service Pack2, 32-bit.

I read some solutions for similar situations but 1) they seem too complex, and 2) I don't know if they apply to this specific scenario.

    The bluescreen reads as follows:

    KERNAL_STACK_ERROR

    Technical information: stop 0 x 00000077

    (0XC0000056, 0X0F2EB000, 0XC0000056, 0x00000000)

I have deleted a newly installed software and have run Nod 32, who showed no virus.  I do not have the Vista disc to reintall the operating system, just the DELL installation and diagnostics disks in my Inspiron 1525.  I ran the diagnostic disk and it stalls on the bar of the 83% say:

    Error code: 0F00:0232

MSG: Block DISK-0 608768 Time out waiting for the IRQ

Then it stops again with the same message to block 608769 and 608770.

Can someone help me fix this problem in simple terms, if you please, or propose a plan of action that is idiotproof for a novice like me?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

It could be that the problem is due to some bad sectors on the hard disk. I suggest you to perform a check disk on the system from the recovery environment and check.

    Step 1:

    a. boot in the recovery environment. Check the steps that are mentioned in the link given below.

What are the system recovery options in Windows Vista?

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/what-are-the-system-recovery-options-in-Windows-Vista

    b. Select the command line and type in recovery options.

    (c) to fix the errors, look for bad sectors and recover readable information, at the command prompt, typechkdsk volume: /r, and then press ENTER.

    Thanks and regards.

If I'm on the standard account, log and then enter the password in one of the accounts 'Admin' it works fine accept the password and connect me!

To the best of my knowledge, the software is fully patched and a "Norton" scan did not detect.

    Any suggestions please?

    Hi Bindu R,.

Could not connect to the admin password in safe mode.

Ultimately, an engineer very persistent attended my house (I do wish to advertise but if requested I have will provide the names and the manufacturer).

It has replaced the drive hard as diagnostic failed on the drive, the still apparent fault, replaced the motherboard and keyboard. That fixed it, but then the diagnostic disk has been corrupted and tomorrow will be another visit. Seems a key come back sticking some time and was removed and replaced. So many people on their support line confused by this and similar no software but a duff keyboard!

Will let you know if it is not fixed.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions.

  • Copy an old hard drive for Compaq laptop.

I have a Compaq Armada 7380DMT with a noisy (noise that feels like the dentist worn forest is in your head) drive hard 4gig. I want to copy it to a disk good 6gig, with diagnostic partition.

What utility actually * operation * so that when I install the new drive it starts in ye olde Windows 95 b instead of saying 'Missing Operating system '?

I tried Paragon Drive Copy 9 Pro with the copy of defining raw partition and Dubaron DiskImage. Or copied the disc correctly so it could start on partition 2, but he could start on the diagnostic partition if I held F10.

The diagnostic partition is FAT16 with a very bare Windows 3.1 on it, with the Compaq utility as shell instead of program manager program. The other partitions are a primary FAT32 and an extended with a logical partition to FAT32 partition.

The PC that I have to do the copy with host is a laptop computer running 32 bit Vista Ultimate SP1 and a couple of USB adapters IDE laptop.

PS, I was do this kind of things computer since nearly 27 years and still have not seen all "fun and interesting" ways to complicate the life of a tech computer companies have set up!

I couldn't find any disk copy utility that could copy all partitions AND create the thing correctly. Here's what I figure out to make it work.

    1. with the original disc in, press F10 when booting to access the diagnostic partition. Use the options to make the diagnostic and installation floppies.

    2. make a startup with Windows 95 disk, then make a copy on C:\ of MSDOS. SYS and change the name to MSDOS. BAK

    3. right click MS-DOS. BAK, click Poperties and uncheck the box system, hidden and read-only. Copy MSDOS. BAK on the startup disk.

    4. install the new VIRGIN hard drive and start with the diagnostic disk. It will take you through the implementation of a diagnostic partition and install the configuration files / Compaq PC diagnosis.

    5. Insert the startup disk and restart. Use FDISK to create partitions. PARTITION 2 MARK AS ACTIVE. It is 2. TWO. Not 1!

    6. Restart then FORMAT C:/s so the file system will be installed. To format all the others that you have created.

    7 A:\>attrib c:\msdos.sys s h - r

    8 A:\>copy msdos.bak c:\msdos.sys

    9 A:\>attrib msdos.sys + s + h + r

    10. remove the disc, connect it and the old drive to another PC by any means. USB > IDE adapters will work.

    11. on the old disk, use Explorer to go to the volume, which Windows 95 is installed.

    12. you need NOT hide all files and to display the name of Windows file extensions.

    13. press Ctrl a to select all files.

14 hold CTRL and click on IO COMMAND.COM. SYS AND MSDOS. SYS to deselect them.

15 drag with the RIGHT button of the mouse on the new drive, release and click on copy.

    16. when it's done copying, stop and then install the new hard drive in the laptop. Start up and you should be to the old windows on a new drive.

This process works even to switch to Windows 95 and 98 on a new disc using the Win 9 x computer is running. You must move the page file to the root of C:, or to another drive is not in the Windows folder. Format the new drive with the /s switch and when you copy everything, deselect MSDOS. SYS, so it will copy the basic version FORMAT installed.

It took me a lot of research to find the last disk of Compaq PC Diagnostics making SoftPaq to the Armada 7300 series, because HP does not have it on the downloads page for the driver of the laptop. This is the version 10.40 a, sp16085 number ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp16001-16500/ here the version removes the diagnostic partition configuration option. 10.39 version has, sp12906, keeps the installation program. It's here. FTP://FTP.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp12501-13000/

I found these SoftPaq numbers on this page. http://Priede.BF.Lu.lv/FTP/pub/OS/Datori/Compaq/Armada_4150/utility/sp16085.html

  • Questions Re installed Windows 7 on my computer

Recently, I decided to re - install Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit on my gaming PC, due to the fact that there are many viruses to infect my computer makes it difficult to do the basic things. When I got my installation disk I followed the instructions in the custom and chooses everything I wanted to do. When the installation is almost complete, (saying complete installation) it never seemed to end, it had sat for an hour, saying that it has finished installing, at this stage, I decided to turn it off and on again because probably there was a bug in the installation. When I did the installation launched and got "the installation program starts services" and then say "Windows has encountered an error or a restart unexpected, please click OK to restart the computer and continue the installation" naturally, I selected OK and it restarted the computer, but then once "the Installer starts services" the same question would happen

infinitely. I tried up to 15 - 20 times except that soon he don't even have that until now, he has just cut immediately after start-up, restart and repeat. If anyone has encountered this and has one response other than buying a new hard drive and a new windows 7 CD

If you can download and install ISORecoder and use it to create a DVD ISO Windows 7. If it succeeds, then the disc can be read in its entirety and there is nothing wrong with it.

Visit the manufacturers of drive for a diagnostic disk image or a tool. To verify that the drive is OK.

Remove all add the device before installing Windows, if it has on-board graphics port even remove the video card. The naked system is less likely to have driver problems. Even remove all other disks apart from the system disk.

The fault you describe is indicating a memory problem as a serious candidate. Try to remove the memory down to a minimum for installation. Installation with suspect memory can produce weird effects and I found memory that can pass every test available have problems with the installation of Windows.

  • T500 - left arrow does not

The keyboard works fine except that the left arrow appears to be dead.  It's true, when I boot it into Windows Vista or Linux Xandros.

Troubleshooting instructions show that I should run 'Test' in the application of the BIOS, but I can't find one criterion other than the diagnostic disk.

Any suggestions?  Thank you very much.

Hi steve907 and welcome to the Lenovo user community!

Of course, it seems that there is a problem with the contact on this key.

First of all check that nothing restricts the key to move (in my case a crumb of a scone morning would be possible).

If you're under warranty I would call Lenovo support 1-800-426-7378. They will probably give you the option to send the machine for them or permutation of the keyboard yourself. It's pretty easy - here are the instructions and a movie:

    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?lndocid=TPAD-movies

If you are out of warranty, you can try popping the key and check that there is nothing causes a physical problem with it. I provide this piece of advice with the caveat that I do not have one of these keyboards and have not popped and replaced a key on one. It was possible on all keyboards of my ThinkPad so far, however. To replace the key you position and push until it snaps back into place. If you do not want to do this, don't worry.

Hope this helps and let us know how you will eventually solve this problem if she can help others in the future...

  • Why are JPEG images on the hard drive of my computer all of a sudden now Virgin?

JPEG images on the hard drive of my computer are now white (it reads 0kb and the tile is missing) and when I go to open it in Windows Photo Viewer, it gives me an error saying that there is not. I noticed that it happens to almost all of the photos that I have edited in Lightroom 5. I shot an entire season of football last year, all in JPEG format and with my guards, I advanced and edited in Lightroom and now they are virgins. I never moved my photos anywhere. I turned the game in November, created the folder for this game, and that's all. I'm almost a year more later to print them for my portfolio and the file is missing! Lightroom can show the photo, but I can't make adjustments in the develop module because the file is blank on my computer. The weird part is that the sticker is there, the number of correct image is there, and when I click to display in the Explorer in Lightroom, it pulls up the JPEG right, if the location is OK in Lightroom, just no thumbnail image and no image size when I go to open it using the Windows Photo Viewer. I checked the other games that I shot and it's happened to almost all games.

If you have pictures on your camera cards, then of course you can simply copy them to the appropriate locations.

There are plug-ins in Lightroom that can recover the preview using Lightroom, but these will be smaller and lower in quality than the original. Perhaps one of our plug-ins experts can suggest the good plug-in.

If the hard drive goes really wrong, as I suggested, you definitely want to be replaced. If this is the case, you won't continue to use it. You might want to run some diagnostic disk on this subject.

  • IBM 600 X (2645-4eu) menu BIOS F1 failed

Rebuilt an IBM 600 x: replace keyboard, new working well, added RAM and it gets correctly counted, added CD and floppy both work, BIOS updated successfully from boot floppies, ran IBM diagnostic disk successfully from boot floppies, replaced the main battery, replaced the CMOS battery, and reset BIOS F1 started in Puppy Linux boot CD successfully to extract useful files from a crashed HD with Win XP Pro - everything works OK and the system tried to start in damaged Win XP Pro.

HD shot from your cell phone, applied the adapter connector to read the HD and try to recover the Win XP Pro license affecting slave and plug into a PC running data recovery software good office. Managed to retrieve desired data volumes.

Radiation of the desktop PC HD, cavalier radiation slave (don't remember whether or not she had a date to select cable when I removed it from the laptop). Reinstalled HD cell without any rider and quickly met opinion (despite the recent replacement) CMOS battery failure, then replaced the CMOS battery again and set the date and time, and temporarily short-circuit BIOS reset buffers in compartment of DRAM.

At this point, the laptop does not start from any device, HD, CD or floppy and no error message. F1 outfit to turn on fails to bring up the menu of the BIOS Setup. Tried to add HD rider in positions to drive HD-0, 1 - HD and select cable without any positive result. Laptop turns on, powers, but does not read the floppy drive and CD, counties of RAM with success and stops. Tried to delete all the devices, same result.

Someone has any idea how to enter the BIOS setup when F1 at startup fails?

Removed all THE RAM, batteries, appliances, let all time, connected battery CMOS and attempted to enter the F1 menu with the same result, counties of memory followed just a slight staccato sound, no system emits a beep, then nothing.

After talking with several technicians of laptop repair local in person today, several suggested that the likely low staccato sound was a clue that the cooling fan has been blocked.  I was told to blow out the unit with a compressed air gun.  After the failure of the effort that above, I took the unit my garage and used 100 lb/po2 air compressed on a nozzel 1/8 inch to blow into each opening, I could find, and a significant cloud of dust was released.  After reinstalling the battery unit, then started normally.

    Problem solved by compressed air.
