ThinkStation P900 - small plastic clips

Hello.

We recently ordered a ThinkStation P900 for a customer.

The Thinkstation was a small box with 4 plastic clips closed.

Anyone know what these are for?

Thanks in advance!

~ Tomska

I do, and I need those ;-)

See this thread, it seems that Lenovo is listening to its users. If only they'd send those to me also.

How to do it on Vista?

    Hi robt1962,

Thank you for using answers Forum.

You may be able to use Windows MovieMaker to extract audio from your video file, depending on the format.

If you use your favorite search engine and look for "extract the audio from video using windows moviemaker" for more details.

    I hope this helps.

  • Broken BIOS Firmware - ThinkStation P900 - can not wake mode 'sleep'

In November 2014, I bought one of the first P900s to be filled - a machine from 30 to 5. As others have already said on the forum, the startup time is very very long.

Out of the box, the machine worked without any problems. In early December, I noticed that a new firmware BIOS has been updated with the provision that promised an update on boot time, but also a fix for a problem of reactivation of S3 (which at the time I didn't!).

After I successfully flashed the BIOS with the new version using the OS I was no longer able to wake the computer from S3 sleep. I tried all combinations of configuration of the BIOS pertaining to fashion 'sleep' - nothing has worked.

Mid-December an another BIOS update was published on the support Web site. I loved that one too - the problem has persisted.

On Jan 6, yet an other BIOS was released (a6jy62usa.exe) - you may have guessed, it does not solve the problem from early December wake BIOS version or the other. This update of the BIOS Jan 2015 seems to have been taken down--I can't find online. Is there a bug in this version?

Whatever it is, the first update of BIOS that I asked my machine broke the suspend feature. Lenovo, please fix this!

I have a video card ASUS STRIX GTX970, a Samsung 850 Pro SSDS as primary disk, two hard drives 2.5 "in the RAID and the 1 TB 3.5" drive provided with the machine. The rest is intact - no additional cards, etc.

I just flashed BIOS v.64A and my S3 summary the problem is resolved.

Looking at the release notes, I see that this was actually discussed in v.63A.

Somehow, I missed the short period during which this version was online. Just saw today v.64A.

I have the HARD drive set up passwords, so I guess that's really the question even being discussed in v.63A. For those who followed and the fixed - thank you! I can finally have a machine available quickly without needing a waste of energy.

A small digression - after I flashed the firmware (using the flash with the BONE tool) and the computer restarted, I got an "Installer data integrity check failed". Enter the loaded BIOS defaults, so this meant a bit of extra work to get the Setup to where I got it. The only scary part was that the SATA controller was also indented on AHCI instead of RAID. Fortunately, the RAID parameters themselves on the Intel RST controller were intact and my paintings have they not suffered.

I'm marking this post as the solution to the problem of reactivation of S3. I hope that future updates won't break it again.

  • Notbook (tactile) 15-ay041wm: computer laptop 15-ay041wm replacement with SSD HDD

HI: I just bought the ay041wm-15 (product X0H86UA) and I am trying to replace the HARD drive of 1 TB with a Samsung 850 EVO. I followed the instructions on maintenance & Service Guide pages 52-53 about the removal of the bottom cover. However, after removing all the 11 screws Phillips PM2, 5 (including the two under the rubber buffers), I can not lift the cover from the bottom of the computer (or don't know how). It seems it is stuck or there may be other live. Can't find the video on the Internet. Do I need any special tools or something special to the lever open? Thank you in advance for your help.

    4. start prying on the front of the computer and work around to the back to separate the bottom cover of the computer.

    5. remove the bottom cover.

The hardest part is getting started and the other hard part is not scratch the plastic. The two halves of the shell are a series of small plastic clips that are committed together and you have to seaparate it somewhere and then gradually expand the separation while nothing break or mark the plastic.

It is when the rubber meets the road and that is the reason why HP does not allow end users to open it. It takes a little experience and a little bit of a touch and even a little bit of courage. That you have done two or three times, however, you'll wonder why it was so difficult.

  • cover of Blue ray player

My sister popped her blue ray disc coverage. Rather than buy a new blue ray player, is it possible to buy just the cover? I entered the number on the sticker inside the plate several times to various sites of HP parts, but nothing comes back. The number inside the Blue ray cover plate is 3KLX910.

The small plastic clip broke on one side, and it can not connect to the disk.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Roger

Do not hold account... After several attempts on the HP site parts, I just google the part number and I bought the front of WareSphere. They had the exact part and it's on its way. I guess a part like that is not expensive enough to warrant a place on the shelves at the warehouse of HP. Fortunately for after market.

  • retaining clips or spring clips HELP plastic

I have Touchsmart IQ770 and wanted to replace the video card, but taking the heatsink, I broke 3 plastic clips that hold the sink down through the graphics card on the motherboard. As these clips cannot be found anywhere, how you connect the sink on the M/B without these clips spring?

    Help, please!

    Hello ninocka,

I am sorry to hear that and can understand the frustration. After working on the computers in the years that I have tons of spare parts and of tools all about the installation of changes to systems more I'm working on that, however everyone is not that luxury.

I assume that you're not still under warranty? If it's a bad connection, it of a simple solution, but would require the opening of the machine and find the connection that is bad. But it could be worse than that, sometimes you don't realize the problems that you really have until you start digging.

  • Small App active Clip, where are stored the screenshots?

Last year, I used a lot the small active Clip of the App to take screenshots. They used to be stored in a folder named Clipper, but as of August 5, 2015, none is stored here more. Where can I find them?

Thanks for any advice I can get!

    @Blugrn

  • Why so slow and fat out put for only the clip size small 1 sec?

Why so slow and fat out put for only the clip size small 1 sec?

    Hello

I just apply simple ray tracing 3d in AE and then try to make it by media encoder

Meia encoder says 4 hours so he could make

my clip was 15 sec not hd (I do not change all of the settings in media encoder to make)

then I cut it to 1 sec encoder media took 20 minutes to make

    out put

    4.12 MB

    .avi file

    1 sec

    Why what is happening

This only happens when I apply ray trace 3d not for others

    Thank you

As they say - "a picture is worth a thousand words" thus:

This is a screenshot of the small video clip (full HD) with curvature layer with RayTracing (see render estimated times):

And the same video clip with 3D classic (without RayTracing) and effect of Warp Mesh (rendering was so fast that he even showed no estimated time - but you can see the final rendering time):

So you almost 1, 5 h with RayTracing vs 11 dry without.

  • How to replace a part broke on the Clip +?

I use Clip + gym. Simply, I clip the player on my shorts. I don't want to use the cuff. Recently, the spring that holds the clip broke. I had a chat with Sansa. They confirmed this broken clip on the player is not replaceable.

Are there similar items out there that I can stick to the player?

Recommended Sansa armband for the clip. I hate 17 bucks plus S & H.

Go to a dollar store and get a small tape measure or a bunch of liquidation that has a small plastic or a belt clip steel on it (or any other cheap device with a belt clip that can be removed). Remove clip belt needed for this device. Use a nail or nail Board file and smooth the broken area on the Clip + to create a flat surface. The replacement of clip on glue. A bit of work, but this should fix it!

  • Satellite 1800: Fault pin plastic LCD display!

"Look at the LCD display screen. If you can see a small image on the screen, backlight fluorescent display screen can be disabled. Light of a flashlight directly to the screen will make it much easier to see if or not there is a screen image actually present, but not turned on. On most Toshiba laptops, there is a small plastic or metal pin near one of the LCD cover hinges. When the display lid is closed (closed), this PIN is pressed against an internal switch that turns off the backlight, saving battery power. You can turn on the backlight by pressing repeatedly on this PIN. The normal screen image will be then suddenly appear or reappear. »

It's a recommendation, I took for my Satellite 1800 Toshiba help suggestiuons... However, when I type the PIN, she don't flick the backlight on and then turns off very quickly. I can't stay!
It drives me crazy and I can't find anywhere on the net wherer this fault is mentioned.

The problem has gradually worsened over time. I used to be able to move the angle of the screen and tapping the PIN to operate. But now, I don't have a chance so he could stay forever! I think I have to open the screen and check if the PIN needs to re - solder or perhaps the FL lamp wire is pinching somehow...

I do not know... I am far from being a geek... also... What does FL stand for?

    PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP.

    Hi Liam,

The description of your problem suggests that the FL inverter has failed. It is a component that provides the background lighting for your screen.

Normally when you close the PIN you are talking about depresses a switch that turns off the UPS FL. If you can get a momentary illumination of you LCD when you prod this switch I think the inverter FL itself is defective.

The bad news is that you will need to take your laptop to a partner of authorized Service for repair. The good nes, it's that the FL inverter is not one of the more expensive items.

    Kind regards

  • Plastic broke by removing the keys

    Hello

I want to clean my laptop under the keyboard, I removed the keys.
But when I did it with the escape key, the thing that holds the key.
    Without any force!

Can I get this things between the keyboard and the key anywhere?

    Greetings
    Matze92

That is the question for the Toshiba authorized service partner. They can give you an adequate response to your question. To be honest, I don't think you can get these two small plastic parts separately.

Maybe you can try to get old, already used keyboard for your laptop model and use this small plastic parts. I already removed it. These two parts are small, but if you have enough patience and do this slowly, you can fix it yourself.

  • Clip on keyboard broken in Satellite A200

Hi there of the computer guru! First time poster, I was replacing my speakers in my laptop satellite A200 when the Clip that keeps the keyboard inside the motherboard cable broke.

Now, the bit that broke is not the part attached to the motherboard itself, it is a plastic clip that pushes the cable in and the sort of clips in the main motherboard for the cable clip.

Any help would be great as im sick of using an external keyboard.

  • How can I reach volume custom audio clips?

I work with many small audio clips, sometimes seconds in length. Everyone can have a fade in and out, and I need to move these clips as I cut & paste into a Word doc.

However when I do this, the volume settings follow the audio. How do I "anchor" line for each bit of the audio volume?

    Thank you very much.

Activate the option "Move track Automation with regions" in the Mix (in GarageBand 10 ") menu.

In GarageBand 11, you experience a similar option in the control menu. "Lock automation curves to regions.

  • Enlarge clip art

I have a HP Officejet Pro 8500 printer all in one.  I can't understand how to expand a clipart image.  Instructions and the search engine included with this printer does not show how to do this.  Any help would be great.

    Thank you

    Heather

Press the copy button, then select settings.  There will be some settings to enlarge/reduce, including adjustment to the page and custom.

Good use of page if you have a small article clipped and want to fill the page.  If you want to enlarge something select custom and set the expansion regardless of the desired magnification.  This is adjustable (much smaller) 25% to 400% (much larger).  To perform the copy you then load the original in the angle front right of the scanner glass.

If you frequently make copies extended, you can save the settings as a default.  In this instance the parameters expand/collapse would, unless you change them for a single task or set new default values for all work.
