This morning, any file, attachment, received, or stored on my HP PC pdf does not open. Could someone advise me?

I opened my screen on my HP PC this morning and for some reason any anything affiliated with Adobe Acrobat Reader opens. New pdf files does not open, nor will be stored Adobe documents. I received a message that says "unable to connect to a DDE server Acrobat. I confess that I don't know what a DDE server. Can someone advise me on how to find and fix my problem with Adobe?

Hi melcrissey,

Try the solutions below: -.

Solution 1) (this error occurs when you have more than 1 process of Acrobat running)

  • (1) go to the task by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del Manager
  • (2) go to the process in the Task Manager
  • (3) terminate all processes associated with Acrobat
  • (4) start Acrobat again.

Solution 2) open Acrobat access to menu help & repair installation.

Solution 3) control the association of file on your system.

Solution 4) course for HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\acrobat\shell\open\ddeexec\application and change the "AcroviewA10"key to "AcroviewR10.

I would like to know if it works.

Kind regards

Nicos

  • The names of files and documents is displayed automatically with '. RRT' and does not open.

I had been using windows 8.1 pro until last month when one day all my documents and files names appears with '. RRT' at the end of the tail. The day before, that I can remember, I had tried to free up the space of the drives c and d by removing unused and temporary files. I had also deleted some system files, where I could probably and unintentionally deleted some important system. Therefore, no office paper was reading and writing. I tried a few Microsoft office online supports, convenience stores, diag apps, but nothing has worked.

I then uninstalled windows 8.1 and installed windows 7, tried some recovery methods and tools, in fact, it's always "RTT" at the tail. I have a pair of drive but that was created during the windows 8.1 platform and now it's windows 7.

There was a similar post in this forum about a month ago. Its author has finally found his machine had been infected by ransom ware. All his files have been encrypted. If he paid the ransom his records might (?) get decrypted.

If you can download one of these files to a cloud storage location or send it to me (pegasusDOTfnlATgmailDOTcom), then I might be able to tell you more. Don't forget to specify what type of file it should be (.docx, .pdf, etc.).

  • Pages does not open any file more except models

From one day to the other Pages 5.6.1 does not open any more files on my MacBook Pro with OS X 10.11.3. I tried all means: 'Open recent', 'open... '. ","With "Open Pages", without result. A restart does not help. Best regards.

    Hi Ciroamos,

I understand that you're having trouble to open a document Pages 5.6.1 on your MacBook Pro.  Have you recently updated or changed on demand?  Have you tried to open a Pages document on icloud drive, in addition to your computer? One thing I would try is to use Time Machine and go back to an earlier date and see if you can open a document.  If you can't, then you must uninstall the application Pages and re-download from the Mac App Store.

I would add some information below to help you with these troubleshooting steps.

Mac OS X: how to solve a software problem

Use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac

    Restore specific files:

    1. Enter in Time Machine, choose the Time Machine menu , or click on the Time Machine in the Dock.

    2. Find files to restore:
      • Use the timeline on the edge of the screen to see your Time Machine backup files, as they were at this date and time. The timeline may also include a snapshots the.
      • Use of the screen and down arrows to reach the last time the content of the window changes. You can also use the search field in a window to find a file and then move through time, well that centered on the changes to this file.
      • Select a file, then press the SPACEBAR to preview the file and make sure it is the one you want.
    3. Click on restore to restore the selected file, or Ctrl-click the file for other options.

    Download your latest purchases

    Redownload an app

On a Mac or a PC

You can redownload the apps for iOS in iTunes devices and applications for your computer in the Mac App Store.

    Since the Mac App Store

    1. Open the Mac App Store.
    2. From the top of the window, click on purchases. Your purchased apps will appear.
    3. Scroll down to find the application you want to download.
    4. Click on install or download to the right of the item you want to download. Your application will download to your computer.

    Take care

Please visit the below mentioned link and try the troubleshooting steps:

Unable to open Adobe Acrobat or Reader PDF

If this is not enough, then run the cleanup tool "Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat tool - Adobe Labs" on your machine to uninstall the reader completely.

  • My E: drive does not open to receive a disc. It seems to be locked up? Any ideas?

My E drive drawer does not open to receive a disc.

If you have tried all of the usuals, i.e. press the CD button open or right click on the drive in "computer" then press eject, (finally some anyway) most CD/DVD players have a small hole on the Panel of the real player, sort of a manual ejection.

Push something long and thin (maybe a paperclip) to the bottom of it, and it should open. Try to do with the PC turned off initially, but Ive done with the power on.

Just go simple and not too heavy handed.

This gives the idea and pictures - http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000214.htm

  • I got a fix, but the file does not open correctly. __

    I received this fix: http://hotfixv4.microsoft.com/Windows%20Vista/sp3/Fix291684/6000/free/395073_intl_i386_zip.exe

The self-extracting file does not open correctly.  Any thoughts on how to get this to work?

It's actually an executable file which probably opens a file or a zipped folder.

If the procedures described above do not (or if you prefer another alternative), download the free 7 - Zip at: http://www.7-zip.org/ and install it and use it to open the zip file.  This should probably fix the problem.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • CC of Photoshop does not open when you try to open the files in Lightroom CC

Recently, when I try to open files in Photoshop from Lightroom CC, I get the error message that is attached.  If I manually open CC PS it opens and the LR files are there, but it does not open on its own.

    Screen Shot 2015-09-23 at 6.56.18 PM.png

I went on the hard drive where these files are stored and checked the disk and there is no necessary repairs.  I checked my preferences for editing in LR and PS is the chosen program.  You have ideas.

    Thank you

    Larry Lindell

Looking at this error report, looks like Lightroom trying to open a copy of Photoshop on your backup disk. Since it is a copy of the software and is not the property inscribed and the installation files, it is not able to launch correctly. See the following: Lightroom: "Edit in PS 2014" opens PS 2014 in the wrong place

    Third party extension and plug-ins?

If Safari is slow, unresponsive, which closes unexpectedly, or has other issues

The problem may be caused by a Safari Extension, Internet plug-in or another add-on.

The safari Extensions, Internet plug-ins, and other modules are designed to improve or customize the browsing experience. Modules are widely available on the Internet, and some are installed as part of an application or other software. If you have Add-ons installed, an add-on might be at the root of the issue.

If the problem is the unwanted pop-up windows, advertisements and graphics while surfing on the web, discover how to remove the ad-injection (adware) from your Mac software.

    Disable the Safari Extensions

You can disable Extensions Safari to learn if all are causing the problem.

    1. In the Safari menu, choose Preferences.
    2. Click the Extensions icon, and then select an extension from the list.
    3. Uncheck the box enable disable this extension.

If turning off an extension solves the problem, look for updates of the extension by clicking Update in the lower left corner of the window. Or remove the extension by clicking on the button uninstall.

Remove Internet plug-ins and other add-ons.

You can remove Internet plug-ins and other add-ons to see if everything is the origin of the problem. To find them, quit Safari and open these folders in library:

    • The library folder at the top level of your hard drive. Open it from the Finder by choosing go > go to folder in the menu bar. Then type /Library and then click OK.
    • The record library in your home folder. Open it by organizing the Option while choosing go > library in the menu bar.

The folders in the library contains the following folders for modules. Move all the files in these folders to the trash.

    • Internet Plug-Ins
Do not remove the default Browser.plugin, nslQTScriptablePlugin.xpt, Composer.webplugin of Quartz or QuickTime Plugin.plugin.
    • Input methods
    • InputManagers
    • ScriptingAdditions

If the removal of the files in these folders solves the problem, quit Safari again and gradually put the files until you find the one at the origin of the problem:

    1. Open the Recycle Bin and select one of the files that you removed. Chose file > back up. The file back to its folder.
    2. Open Safari and see if the problem returns.
      • If the issue is returned, you have identified the add-on causing the problem. Do not use or contact its manufacturer for an updated version.
      • If the question does not return, quit Safari and put back another file.
  • RealPlayer does not open due to missing file MSVCP90.dll

I try to open realplayer and every time I get the same error message: Realplayer does not open due to missing file MSVCP90.dll. I tried to uninstall and reinstall a clean version and it's the same result every time! What I am doing wrong? How can I solve this problem? I have a laptop HP 1030NR which uses xp edition sp3 family. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

The problem is that RealPlayer needs pieces of Visual Studio/Visual C++ libraries and that is not finding them on your system.  You do not have to install all this junk - just distribution (like MSVCP90.dll) files.

You can look in Add/Remove programs and see what Microsoft Visual C++ redistributes you have installed right now (you can have none).  I installed them in 2005.  You may have none or more installed.

I would like to download the latest Package Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 redistributable and install it from here:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&ID=5555

Reboot and see if RealPlayer is happy now.
