This PSU and GPU will work with my dell inspiron 660?

Hello

I got my dell inspiron 660 earlier (2 years ago) and was thinking of upgrading the PSU and GPU (I'm not a big PC gamer so cheap products, I chose will be much used) anyone of you could tell me if it would be compatible with my inspiron and between them. And if not could you tell me some compatible CPU and GPU, my spending limit is £90.

GPU - Asus GeForce GT 610

PSU - power supply 600W Sumvision power X 3

Thanks in advance,

I think that the 660 has a 300W power supply.  What is the Min requirements for the GT 610?  I think you could slamming in there without having to upgrade the power supply at all.

    Hi crayolaboy18,

Thanks for the photos and links. They were very helpful.

Modules of memory will not impede the map, so you can go ahead and get the upgrade. Its good that you upgrade the PSU too. Here take a look at the photo below, the graphic card XFX begins to protrude out of the base, which means that the body of the bulges of the slot card Express for PCI card locations. Thus, he will not come in the way of the memory modules.

The red highlighted area above is taken by the card. And the answer to your PCI express 3.0 application is in the image below:

    I hope this helps.

  • What graphics card will work with my Dell U2711 to 2560 x 1440?

I just bought a Dell U2711 monitor I want to use with Photoshop at its native resolution of 2560 x 1440. I also have a Dell E2311H to use dual monitor with it in a configuration.

The monitors are connected to a card mother with an integrated video chipset ATi Radeon 4200 with DVI - D and regular 15-pin output video under AMD Gigabyte MA785GM.

However, the 4200 chipset does not seem to support the resolution 2560 x 1440 Dell as all I get are blurry tinted color characters. The ClearType text gives me just blurry garbage.

I use the Dual-link cable that comes with the Dell U2711.

What cheap graphics cards will work for me with this arrangement of material?

Refresh rate is not important. I'm not a gamer.

This video card has two DVI and DP and 2560 x 1440 60 Hz will do.

The SATA hard drive is dead. I installed a new, but we need the recovery disks to reinstall the OS Win7. I was all prepared to order on Friday evening on the HP site recovery disc, I was on the screen to enter a credit card number and I stopped to confirm the purchase by the customer, and when I got home, the hp recovery disk order online site had declined, until ' Sunday 26 9:00 AM CST. But this time has passed and the site is still not up. I have a bad feeling.

My work depends on not wasting any more time. I need to know the following:

    (1) the Web site will go online at any time in the next 24 hours? (was supposed to be lifted this morning)

    (2) my "build NUMBER" is "a1nav6pra2". The link

    "windows 7 64B a1nav6pra1 + supp 7 recovery kit.
That is to say. "a1nav6pra1" instead of "a1nav6pra2". The gap of a figure is a problem?

    (3) HP recovery discs check the hardware to ensure that the material matches. I replaced death hard drive HITACHI (HITACHI 640 GB 7200 RPM SATA-II 16 MB of buffer "HDT721064SLA360") with a new SATA hard drive (SEAGATE st3500641as-rk, 500 MB, 16 MB cache, 7200 RPM).
Is there a reason the recovery disks will not be installed on this drive?

    Thanks for any help!

You can also call HP to the 800-474-6836 and ask to order a set of disks. The disks should work even with the gap of a figure. Sometimes, the recovery discs are reluctant to a hard drive that is smaller than the original disc to factory.

  • HP Pavilion HPE h8-1214: GPU EVGA GTX 750TI will work with my HPE h8-1214

Hello. I plan to update my graphics card soon. Accoring to this, I have a card Mother Angelica. I read another post here of a user having a h8-1230 with a card Mother Angelica Revision2 , who said the EVGA GTX 750TI was inconsistent with this Council, and that he should look for a version of the 750TI MSI instead.

I was wondering if the same applies to my PC because my model is older that the other user has been. I prefer to use the EVGA GPU version, as it is cheaper than the MSI one, but I need to know if it will work with my computer. If not, will the labour card ASUS model, or should it be MSI? The map I intend to buy is present (EVGA) or this (ASUS).

In addition to this, does anyone know if the stock fans and 300W power supply provided with this computer would be appropriate for the new card, or not? I'm looking forward already pass the power supply, but I don't know for the fans. If I were to upgrade the PSU, 430W would be enough, or should I go with 500W? Thank you.

If anyone in the future who might wonder, I had this GPU works on my computer, but I had to buy a specific version of the map and the way I got it to work was pretty weird.

You need to buy this version MSI of the card, because the card itself has a switch on to change the UEFI to Jack supported BIOS Legacy. As far as I know, other versions of this card are UEFI only, and this computer does not support UEFI, so he needs a card that can run in the traditional way. It may look like a fit snug in the case, but it does not seem to cause problems and it cools very well with fans.

I also changed to a block of power SUPPLY Corsair 430W, which seems more than enough for the system, even with the card to load max. You could go to a higher power, if you consider the upgrade of several pieces, or reuse the power supply in a more powerful system later. I have not upgraded fans in the computer and do not seem to have cooling problems.

    Now to make it work...

    I had some questions:

When I first turned on the computer, it froze on the screen of the POST (the first screen with the HP logo). It would allow me to get into the BIOS, and it would beep 4 times (with long breaks between the two), before finally to a black screen with a cursor blinking and just stay there.

What finally got it to work:

I disconnected all the instructors of the map (cables VGA, DVI or HDMI), and then I turned on the computer. Without any monitor plugged, the computer should beep 6 times (the power button LED flashing with it), then the power led turns off. The LED went off as soon as I plugged my monitor into the computer (in my case, I used a VGA cord).

For the first few seconds, the screen remained blank and does not save a connection. The computer is beeping intermittently for a while, then after about a minute my detected monitor suddenly a signal, and the screen displays the Windows splash screen. I was able to boot into Windows, all right, even if the resolution of the screen will be a little goofy, until you install the drivers.

I jumped in the driver installation CD, and once it finished installing, I restarted the computer. Now, when it restarted, I had to do the same procedure I mentioned above so that he could start again. Now that the drivers are installed, I don't know if I'll have to do this procedure everytime I restart the computer (don't have not shut down since then), but since I rarely shut down my computer, it's worth it to me.

Hope this helps someone else, because I know that I spent 10 hours searching for ideas before discovering this solution myself.

Now that it is running, I have problems and I have run several graphics intensive games on it without any problem with cooling or power draw. It is very quiet, too. Even with a game running on high quality graphics, I can barely hear the fans when there is no other sound in the room.

  • Upgrading the video card and power supply, these will work with my system?

Hello, I am wanting to update my graphics card as my current one is finally fall behind on current games, BF3 beta is a restless nighmare and BC2 must be smooth running low (ick). In any case, I think I have my selected updates and I just want to confirm that they will work with my computer until I pull the trigger. My current equipment:

And the power of a passionate Corsair 850W 80 + CERT (I know this is perhaps an exaggeration, but I can update to motherboards in the future to run two SLI cards and do not want to upgrade again)

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=17-139-009&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&PageSize=10&PUR...

I removed the side panel to check the dimensions of the new card and it looks like it fits. The only thing that could be a problem of release the cables SATA for the hard drive and hard drive because they are both plugged into the two slots, I don't think that the two superiors would be no problem at all. Depending on the thickness of the new card is also, it may be very close to the sound card that is spaced only a slit above the graphics card. I have another location available PCIe x 1 go back one level more that I should be able to plug the sound card in if there is no problem.

My question is that these two will be compatible with my system? (physical limitations side)

Also, can I change which SATA plug the hard drive and disc plug in, without having to reformat? Is it just unplug and plug in the new housing? (setting power off + unplugged of course) Basically passing SATA0 and SATA1, SATA2, and SATA3. Or do need to be filled in order? (0 then 1 then 2, etc...)

Finally, If I can't move the sound of a standard card, do I need to do anything other than the physically move when the computer is turned off and unplugged?

    Any help is appreciated, thanks!

    John

    jkalbin,

You have thought through all scenerios. Move the sound card does not any problems. The hard drive should stay in header SATA 0.

  • PhotoShop CS6 will work with screen tactile Dell and Windows 10?

I can't find enough information to feel confident about ordering this Dell laptop forums.  I can go to the 7000 series with a 4 GB NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 960 M graphics, but I'm not a gamer.
