Thumbnails in the greyed import dialog

When I try to import photos all thumbnails are grey, with pictures previously imported in a darker gray. While the names of image files are correct that I can't see previews of image as I used to be able to I cannot work on the folder in which import them.

When I left my thumbnails of photos already imported import dialog didn't appear fine.

Any suggestions on how to fix this problem? I use LR6.3 on OSX 10.11.2.

TIA

Download Lightroom 6:- install Photoshop Lightroom

Then make sure to upgrade to version 6.3 of link:- http://swupdl.adobe.com/updates/oobe/aam20/mac/AdobeLightroom-6.0/6.3/setup.dmg

Kind regards

You should always use the 2015.2 or 2015.2.1 version which had the modified import dialog box. Update LR 2015.3 through the creative cloud desktop application.

    Hello world

My Lightroom import dialog box is a fail. When I click on the button import or go to the menu import dialog box, my lightroom freezes. This problem came after I tried to import a photoshop PSD file. Since then, I have almost tried everything. I reinstalled Lightroom in cloud of Creative Manager and my DVD (I bought the normal Lighroom 6 Version NOT the CC). I've updated all my disks GPU on motherboard including BIOS and so on. Also, my Windows is completely up-to-date.

  • Update of Lightroom CC November 2015: import format is back to normal, but after the first import, now it shows not all pictures on my card

I * hated * the new import dialog box so actually have several cards which have just been collectible images in recent months.  I was so happy to hear that Adobe has put the old import returns with this version.  I've upgraded LR, jumped into one of my cards, was delighted to see the old format which shows me the destination directories and allows me to their collapse downwards, then uncheck the box.  Then I collapse all and select a date, choose metadata presets (location) and add keywords for this event and import.  Beautiful... so far now, in the next few days.  Or so I thought.

I click Import the 2nd time, the card reader flashes for a bit, then stops - no image showing to import.  GMA

-J' I doublecheck the setting of the "export map" - he did not review.  But I have reinstall the card anyway.  Nothing.

-J' have check in Windows Explorer - Yes, a lot of ships there to import.

-Well, maybe he thinks he imported, so I uncheck the "don't import suspected fooled no" (which used gray-just out them anyway)-nothing.

-J' I quit and restart Lightroom.  Nothing.

-J' I plug the card reader into a different USB port.  Nothing.

Adobe WTF?  I have never seen this one before.  I'll reboot the PC right then, but thought I would ask if others see it too...

Well, I'm distracted: my line "I have never seen anything like this before ' was BS.  6 months ago I * fact * see the solution and it was to switch the triangle next to folders to destination according to another thread.  Fortunately, just after the announcement, some screen I went to in the forums showed me my past behaviour, and there was the answer.  This bug is apparently still there - if your images to import will not be displayed, try clicking on the Panel of the destination folder on the right side of the dialog box and they'll pop right back in - they have just made for me.  I wish you to understand why this is happening and why they have not fixed.

  • Cannot close the import dialog box?

We scanned the photos of our printer in our Toshiba laptop.  The dialog box import returns to ask us to continue to import.  After clicking on OK, scanning continues.  After the picture is imported, we want to close the dialog box, but it does not close.  We can only reduce.  Then after we have the computer shutdown dialog box will disappear.  Thoughts?

    Hello

You use any third-party application to import pictures in windows 7?

I suggest you to change the import settings and check if it helps.

    1. connect the scanner to your computer via a USB cable and turn on the scanner.
    2. in the Autorun dialog box that appears, click on import pictures and videos using the Windows.
    3. to change the parameters that are used when importing pictures and videos, click import settings in the dialog box import pictures and videos .
4 change one or more settings in the import settings dialog box and then click OK.
    5. click OK to restart import pictures and videos. Type a label in the box mark these images (optional) , and then click import to import your photos
and videos using the new settings.

Check if the import area closes after importing the photos.

Also, disable any security software and check if it helps.

NOTE: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus
software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the
Internet or network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

  • I tried to import files jpg 85000. In the catalog are hundreds of grey boxes, if I use another program to open one of the grey files it works immediately. How can I get items to inport the missing files?

85000 files import does not work. Items found around 36000. There are very many files and subfolders

    I have Windows 10.

    Thanks for any response,

Do you have an error message? Which version of elements?

85 000 files require little time for import.

The thumbnails are not created immediately. This implies to open each file to create the thumbnail and save it. For raw files, embedded thumbnails are not displayed, the thumbnails in the Organizer have reflect the changes as raw. It should take several hours.

  • Import dialog box no longer displays the files (not even those on the hard drive)

I take pictures with a D70 (canon) and I imported the always without problems. After that an update or installation of an external program from the import dialog box shows not more photos. It is a black screen. The files can be read the navigation and are regularly cr2 (raw files). What can I do? There are 149 files on the card and not displayed, see below

I suggest you to reset preferences in Lightroom and then check out the same thing.

  • No thumbnails or ability to import in the media browser

    AE CC 13.0, Windows 7 / 64.

My Ae media browser with file names - but not the thumbnails - icons and the right clip import option is grayed out. Same for all types of files. File directory and files supported all types are selected in the filter menus.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you

They are known problems with the media browser panel in After Effects. You can import items by double clicking or dragging in the project Panel.

We do not currently recommend the media browser for most users of After Effects, since it offers little additional functionality on the existing import methods. It has been added to After Effects for compatibility with Adobe anywhere and does not have some of the features available in Premiere Pro. Feel free to test it and report problems or requests for improvement here: http://adobe.ly/feature_request

  • Lightroom 5.0 does not automatically open the import dialog box when the inserted memory card

Lightroom 5.0 fails to detect the memory card and import dialog box open. It has always worked well in Lightroom 2, 3 and 4.  Same cards, same camera, same iMac using OSX 10.8.4. Manual import works OK, the card is detected fine.

Thank you very much, this TOTALLY WORKED for me.  Win 10, LR 5.7.1.  An inserted SD card of Nikon D7000 in the SD card reader built-in to laptop and Windows automatically started both Lightroom AND automatically went straight into LR import feature.  Perfect.

(However, if LR is already running, insert the card SD initiates not import feature, despite having turned on the required checkbox in the preferences.)  Nevertheless, it is progress!   :-)

  • images are not in the order in the import dialog box...

use lightroom 4.3...  import photos, they are displayed in a random order in the window of IMPORT.  With previous versions of lightroom, they were always in order of file name.  It becomes much more time to select files to import into a file, if there are 2 or more jobs on a CF card (I have pictures of my kids skiing mixed with a portrait session.).  Is there a way to sort photos (by name of file, or time) before importing?  I don't know how to sort after import.

These are your options. It's down to the right of the import dialog box

  • I want to move the bookmarks to a no start Win disk (format jspn) to win 10 PC. The import dialog box wants html, not json format

the motherboard on my old PC to WIn 7 has become damaged. I took the hard e drive: toward a new win 10 PC. I can find the Archives of bookmark on the old disk - files are in json format, but when I try to import the bookmarks file I can only find a way to import them into html format. How do I resolve this condition glare?

If the file is in json format, then it replaces the current file.

To open the bookmark, Manager press the ALT or F10 to rise
    the tool, then select bookmarks.
    Access key is < Control >(Mac = < Command >) < shift > B.

Once the window is open, the top of the page, press the button
Import and backup. Select export bookmarks to HTML and follow
prompts and save it in a HTML file. Copy the file to another computer.
Repeat the above instructions, BUT select Import Bookmarks in HTML,

JSON files. Do as above, but select restore. The file must be in the
    Bookmarks backup folder.

  • Completely disable the "Untrusted connection" dialog box

I am a professional developer stuck behind a proxy at work. The behavior of this power of Attorney causes the SSL connection attempts get a certificate signed by my company, not the web site I try to connect to. I have no control over the proxy, so change this behaviour is out of the question.

I need to use Firefox for a number of things and am generally fine adding exceptions for sites that I want to connect. However, some sites like github.com loading resources many other areas via SSL (CDN, Google Analytics, Gravatar, etc.). For these sites, I try to add exceptions in order to allow the company a signed, cert but I can only add to github.com, not any other sites, so even after adding an exception I'm brought back in the right to the page "this connection is untrusted". No matter how many times I try to grant a waiver, I never really get to github.com.

Other browsers on my system are administered remotely and seem to be configured to automatically trust signed certs society. I need to know how to manually configure Firefox to always trust these certificates OR never shows me the unreliable connection dialog box and just maybe show red in the address bar when he does not trust the site cert.

Apparently in OS X, there are at the level of the authorities of certification system. I don't know why it does not use Firefox, but I was able to export the CA company and import it in Firefox. Finally solved my problem.

  • How to regenerate the thumbnails of the Photos after the restoration of hard drive?

    Hello!

A few weeks ago, our drive hard iMac failed and was repaired under the hard drive replacement program. I have restored our our last backup system, but all of our photo in photo thumbnails are black or white with no details. When we open a photo, that is, but the thumbnails are not visible, making navigation impossible.

I tried to repair the library. Who did nothing.

I tried to turn the photos. Turning the last import (300 photos) two-way regenerated the thumbnails OK, but it took 6.5 minutes. I 80 000 pictures. According to my estimate, that makes a little more than 12 days (assuming a linear extrapolation, in any case), during which my CPU will be under a lot of stress.

I also noticed that the rotation thing has no effect for videos.

So I thought, as a last resort before putting my Mac in two weeks of enforced non-toucher, I would like to ask if anyone had other ideas.

Also, does anyone know how to regenerate the photos to the videos?

    Thanks in advance!

    -Mike

Try first to turn a lot of direction tiles 90 ° and 90 ° backward.  See if that will restore them.  If it works then make lots at once, not the entire library.

If it does not try to repair the library according to the instructions in this document to Apple: Repair Your Library.

Warning: If you use iCloud photo library with Photos, this operation will lead to Photos to upload all your pictures again (of difficulty missing or incorrect thumbnails in photo - Apple Support).
