Sorry, just saw a similar problem, it settled now, who said the following:

  • Photos in Windows Explorer

When I connect my iPhone to a Windows 10 PC, and I want to sort my photos using Windows File Explorer, all records are dated the same and it is not a way to filter or sort by them because of this.

Also, there are currently 466 records, and many of them have only 1 file photo inside.

    My two questions are:

Is there a way to sort or filter the files on Windows 10?

Is it possible that I can clean up this mess of files? Or is it possible to know why he might have done this?

Try to import pictures to your computer first. Connect the iPhone to the computer, open the file Explorer and the iPhone will show up as a device.  On a W10 computer, right-click on the iPhone and select Import. Then follow the prompts.

  • Thumbnails gray jpeg in windows Explorer

When I open a folder full of jpeg files in Windows Explorer, some of the thumbnails are entirely or partially grey.  In addition, some of the images in the file previews are also gray.  These files are stored on a network drive.

There seems to be a lot of messages on the Internet about this problem but I have not been able to solve.  In vain, I tried the following:

Removal of the thumbnails using disk cleanup
In Options files and then unchecking it ticking 'always show icons, never thumbnails ".
    Uninstalling the third-party codecs (FastPictureViewer)
    Reinstall video drivers (ATI)

    Can someone please help?

It seemed to me have solved this problem by removing the thumbnails using disk cleanup - I had already done this 2 - 3 times without success, but the last time I did it seemed to solve the problem.

  • Thumbnails of PDFs on Windows Explorer

How would I be able to view the first page of the PDF files as thumbnails in Windows Explorer? I've always been able to do under Windows XP without having to do anything, and I want to be able to do in point 8.1 of Windows 64-bit. This will allow me to manage the files much easier. I plan on upgrading my Dell Inspiron for Windows 10 the day it is released.

My computer automatically updated the software Adobe Reader XI to Adobe Reader Document Cloud 15 yesterday, without intervention, or advising me somehow.

    Hi TJinPerspective,

There is no such customizable setting, however, you can activate the preview in windows Explorer pane, which may help you.

The Adobe Reader program is updated automatically so in this case if not guests for the permission of the user.

  • Windows Explorer thumbnail JPEG image that is superimposed with the icon in the lower left!

When displaying thumbnails of JPEGs in windows Explorer, the tile is covered by another icon so that the lower left corner of the thumbnail cannot be considered.  The icon is a blue square with double white arrows on the inside. Someone can tell me which program is what actually happen and how can I stop it from appearing on the tile.

I suppose that you have an installed Norton Security Suite or Norton 360 and that is what causes these icons.  They exist to indicate whether or not a file was supported upward (I think they become green when she was saved, but I'm not quite sure that I will never use Norton products).  From what I read, there is an option somewhere in the menu or the toolbar of the Norton program to disable this "feature" - you can search yourself or ask for help from technical support of Norton http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/dtree.jsp?pvid= .  I understand why it affects shortcut icons, but I do not understand why it is affecting. JPG files but apparently from what I've read it's very common.

If you grow tired of Norton and the problems it causes (if you did not experience even further than this, I'm sure you'll eventually - I see a lot of them here), you can switch to the free Microsoft Security Essentials http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Microsoft-Security-Essentials-Download-131683.html (Windows Firewall is perfectly adequate and Norton or anyone else really adds nothing of value) or maybe Avast to http://www.avast.com/index.  They are both excellent anti-malware programs even if they are free.

    I hope this helps.

  • Access Windows Explorer for pictures

When you go to 'Pictures' of the main sidebar it takes 10-15 minutes so that they appear on the screen. If I try to access the screen, I get a message saying "Windows Explorer is not responding". However, I can access the same images immediately via WORD, POWERPOINT or others using the mounting or insertion. It is a new problem that started suddenly about two weeks ago. I did the cleaning and getting rid of things I could think. Virus and spam have been verified, without interruption. Any thoughts? Thank you! Butch, I have a Windows Vista Home System.

    Hello No1engravr,

Thank you for using the Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.

Quick question for you. When you try to access your photo from windows Explorer what software did you use to open them? In other words when you double click to open a picture, it must open this photo with a particular software depending on what you set as the default value.

There is an editing software that you can use for this purpose, but I recommend that you use windows Photo Gallery or Windows Picture Manager. To download, click on the link below

    http://download.live.com/Photogallery

To set library as the software by default for editing your image, do the following

Click Start > Panel > default programs

Find and select the Windows Photo Gallery from the list (left) and -click set this program as default
If please reply and let us know if your problem is resolved or if you need further assistance.

  • Shares of LR do not copy in windows Explorer.

I import photos from my camera in a single folder in LR5 and then expand them before you drag / drop in several other cases, all within LR. When I subsequentlylook the photos in windows Explorer, I find that they are duplicated and are still displayed in the folder imported as well as the files I dragged and dropped in. In LR, they are not duplicated. Why?

First thing to try is to reset your LR preferences file as shown in the link below. This will restore the warning messages and can solve the problem:

  • Thumbnails for images JPEG will not appear in Windows Explorer

I'm running Vista Business 32 bit, Service Pack 1.

This is a whole new problem after 2 years of normal operation.   I did not any management JPG files for a few weeks, some had downloaded several regular MS updates and added or not deleted any other program.

And now I can see is more glimpses of my JPEGs in Windows Explorer - if I choose display in mosaic, or small, medium or large icons.   Only the generic 'image' icon.  This is also true if I try to use gMail to transfer a file and search for it.

However, the slide show feature is working normally and Windows Photo Gallery works normally and shows all the photos - but is not a file management tool.  Photos also normally open in programs like Photoshop.

I checked the properties system under Performance Options/Visual Effects and ticked 'show previews and filters in folder' and then 'apply' - but it has no effect.  I checked the associated file and select the default Windows Photo Gallery.  It also had no effect.

Not being able to preview and rename the picture files in Win Explorer / my computer is a serious problem for me.  Any help would be appreciated.

Try checking the Control Panel / folder Options / view, "always show icons. never thumbnails", see if you have to uncheck?

  • Windows Explorer photo views

In Windows Explorer my image when opening folders used to display small pictures. Now, they only display the stock icons.

Under 'View' & 'More Options', I don't see any option to get small photos.

I have recently reinstalled Windows 7, & I think the problem started after that.

Maybe I'm missing something in the settings or the basic settings.

    I use no photo gallery.

I found the answer. It's for Windows 7:

    Windows Explorer\Tools\Folder Options\View ~.

Uncheck the first line - "always show icons, never thumbnails".

"images" now appear as small "photos."

The menu 'More options' can still be used to increase\decrease the size of the photos posted.

  • All my photos are copying through downloading from my iPhone using Windows Explorer

    Hello

To download my photos, I plug my iPhone 6 on my Windows 7 computer and cut and paste in Windows Explorer.

But I noticed that about 1 to 2% of photos are not copy across properly. There will be files for some of them, but when you click on it you can preview or view the image.

For awhile I was trawl through all the photos and re - compose the individual files which do not have copied through & this resolve. But it is incredibly tedious (I take a lot of pictures).

Is there a better way to get a large number of photos on my phone?

    Thank you

    Hello there, bunnygirlxxx.

Looks like you are trying to find another way to import photos from your iPhone 6. The following Knowledge Base article provides an option to import photos from your iPhone:

Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT201302

    Import into your PC

You can import pictures to your PC to connect your device to your computer and using Windows Photo Gallery:

    1. Connect your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to your PC with a USB cable.
    2. You need to unlock your iOS device using your access code.
    3. You can also see a prompt on the device iOS asking you to Trust This Computer. Tap trust or allow to continue.

Then, follow the steps described in these Microsoft Knowledge base articles for how to import pictures in Windows Photo Gallery:

When you import videos from your iOS device to your PC, some might rotate correctly in the Windows Photo Gallery. You can add these videos to iTunes to play them in the right direction.

Photos and videos that sync you from your computer on your device iOS through iTunes can be imported to your computer.

Know what to do If you can not import pictures from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer.

Thank you for reaching out to the communities of Apple Support.

    Kind regards.

  • Windows Explorer closes and restarts (?) when I right click on a file photo.

One time, I installed a software to go with a slide scanner. The software changed to the default program for photo files and then proceeds to seize up after that about 12 slides have been scanned. I removed the software, but every time I do a right-click on a file photo, jpeg, gif, bitmap, etc., or try to open the file menu when one is highlighted, close all Windows Explorer Windows and icons in the taskbar and desktop disappear for a while. The last two return after a minute or two, but not all open windows. Other programs such as Internet Explorer or MS Word are not affected.

I suspect that the defective scanner software installed an entry in the context menu. Search for it and delete it using the ShellExView free program:

  • "Windows Explorer" stops working in Windows Photo Gallery

When I'm working with pictures in Windows Photo Gallery on my computer Vista laptop, 9 times out of 10 if I click tab to organize to try to drop his menu, a "ghost" of the tab appears just below and the system hangs.  It comes up with an error message window saying something to the effect that Windows Explorer has stopped working.  If I just right click on an image, a menu appears with the options similar to what I expect of the tab organize, and I can easily do what I must.  But try to let fall the tab menu organize sends the computer behind closed doors, and I have to Ctrl-Alt-Del to start.  This has been a problem for years, and I myself remember well I even tried reinstalling everything once without any positive result.

Research of Windows Explorer in Windows Fix - it goes nowhere;  It keeps articles posting on Internet Explorer, as there is no such animal as 'Windows Explorer'.

Thanks for your suggestions on how to solve this inconvenience.

I have not seen this site before. Just use the 27 that told you how to download. Vista is the end of it of life support. They are unlikely to be updated again.
