Thunderbird fails to gmail smtp - ssl_error_inappropriate_fallback_alert

I have a new one install a working XP machine. The same version of install on a XP home machine doesn't have the same problem with the same gmail accounts.

On the machine to work with a clean install of 31.3.0 thunderbird, I can't use gmail smtp services. Other services smtp to yahoo and my own domain name to work properly.

The error log;
Timestamp: 07/01/2015 08:01:35
Error: An error occurred during a connection to smtp.googlemail.com:465.
The server has rejected the transfer protocol because the customer to a lower version of TLS on the server supports.
(Error code: ssl_error_inappropriate_fallback_alert)

According to the guide for a firefox problem, I followed the recommendation to change the "security.tls.version.min".
https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/questions/1038836

For the values 0 and 1, the same error log appears. For the values 2 and 3, that no error log is written in the error console still send mail always fails and;
The message send failed.
The message could not be sent using SMTP server smtp.googlemail.com for some unknown reason. Check your SMTP server settings are correct and try again, or contact your network administrator

Any thoughts?

If you use port 587, then set the connection to use security STARTTLS.

In Thunderbird (not Firefox) "config editor" make sure you have this:

  • Security.TLS.version.Max; 3
  • Security.TLS.version.min; 1

  • Gmail SMTP Incorrect salutation 10060

I have been using Thunderbird to download my gmail for years, without any problem. I am currently on 38.4.0. In recent days, when you try to send an e-mail, I started having:
An error occurred sending mail: the mail server has sent a wrong message: unable to connect to the server of SMTP 2607:f8b0:400 d: c08::6 c (2607:f8b0:400 d: c08::6 c: 587), connect error 10060.

I changed the settings, so I wonder if gmail or Thunderbird changed (because it update?). I have my settings in the value of Thunderbird
    SMTP.gmail.com
    port 587
    STARTTLS
    Authentication: Normal password
    Username: [email protected]

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Good server settings appear.
Is there a personal firewall or a proxy server that may prevent the Thunderbird to connect to the server?

Note that when you connect using OAuth2 the first time, you are prompted to enter your Gmail password in a browser window. It is your actual Gmail password, not any specific application password.
After that, you are asked to leave Thunderbird to access Gmail.

    Hello

I want to have 2 shippers when I scan to email.

Those of my wife at all (test KO).

Of course, I tried/retried the login/password, the firmware update (printer is up-to-date)

I also tried tab setting (via web print server) the option "mail server". I filled SMTP ID my wife and it worked. (Test OK)

    Where is the problem?

Thanks in advance for your comments

    Hello
Gmail offers several options of security which are not supported by the printer and it will block to connect to their servers.

First, open the following link and ensure that you are connected to the same account that you are facing problems of implementation.
    https://myaccount.Google.com/

In the section connection & security click on signature in Google and make sure 'The 2-Step check' is defined as 'Off '.

In the left pane click on connected applications & sites and make sure that 'Access to less secure applications' is defined as 'ON', otherwise the check fails.

In the left pane click peripheral activity & notifications, within the "security events" section click on the link to control events and make sure there is no connection blocked attempt (it will be highlighted in red), if there is no warning, proceed to the screen to ensure there is no block for this device.

Once you are running a test for the outgoing user profile and check if the problem resolved.

    Kind regards
    Shlomi

  • Gmail does not recognize my password in Thunderbird. Through gmail, it works.

When you try to retrieve messages in Thunderbird to my gmail account password is not recognized. There had been no problems until Friday. Using Thunderbird 31.3.0. on the Windows 7 computer. I can connect to gmail via the web. Error message says to connect using http://support.google.com/mail/accounts/bin/answer.p4?answer=78754 (failure). This has been tried. Follow the instructions. Same result. No email.

It is more than probable that the so-called security of junk that gmail has imagined. Go to gmail and read about 2 verification step and passwords application specific or turning on access to less secure applications.

  • OFFLINE GMAIL SMTP

Have had this problem for a while. My laptop (Gmail) SMTP server says that it is offline.  The same e-mail settings work on two desktop machines, two i-pads and an i-phone.  The it guy who helps out is also perplexed.  We solved the problem by putting in a different SMTP (his) server, but it has migrated to another server and it no longer works.  I want to solve this problem. The laptop is running 10.10.5.

Apparently there are changes in the requirements of Gmail past 10.10.3

If you have not tried - remove e-mail account settings - preferences - account

This will not delete your gmail account

Then, restart the computer and add it again again

  • I only want to use Thunderbird. can I import my "myway" email in Thunderbird without using Gmail

Firefox has been giving me a lot of concern on the use of myway, but I used Gmail in the past and you want to use again.
Is Thunderbird email it is autonomous, or does it interact with another account like Gmail.

Yes. To do his job, he needs to talk to a server. With Gmail, outlook.com, Yahoo and most e-mail provided by the ISP, you get all of this, the account itself, an e-mail address, server, with the "e-mail client" component being provided with a Web site that you visit in your browser.

But practically any email provider will offer a way to connect its services via an e-mail client. MyWay seems to be a rare exception. IncrediMail comes to mind as one another, making it difficult to leave.

An e-mail client offers you an environment where you can work with your e-mail accounts in one place, with a consistent look and tools, built-in address book. If you are interested E-mail whence, or what hidden payload he may have, some mail clients make it easy to inspect messages. And there is no ads.

If you have multiple accounts and use the webmail, you must log into each account separately. If the accounts are with different providers, you must learn the weaknesses of the site of each provider and its set of tools. And there are usually ads.

After that - it's so the router!

It turns out that the router has a 'Firewall' really lame and lazy. In "high security" mode, it allows HTTP/HTTPS.
When "medium security" mode it allows IMAP, SSH, etc.

  • Does not receive new emails from thunderbird to my gmail account not

    Hello
Since 4 February I get new emails in my thunderbird (version 31.4.0) to my gmail account. I can send emails, however.
I have 2 other e-mail accounts and that they do not have the same problem. If I have access to my account gmail since the browser or my phone, I can see the most recent messages without problem. I have reviewed the configuration settings (IMAP) and they seem correct, incoming and outgoing.
I already followed all the advice I could find online (removed McAfee, corrected some configurations recommended by gmail, etc.), but nothing helped. I would be grateful for any help.
    Thank you very much

Your phone uses POP to retrieve messages?

  • I'm able to sync Thunderbird with my gmail. So if I delete an email from Thunderbird, it removes them turn off all devices (Gmail Web site, telephone, etc.).

My Gmail has IMAP enabled automatically, and I followed the steps presented by one of the help topics, even if this does not work. What I am doing wrong? I really want to be able to sync everything that's going to be a lot more convenient.

"POP server". There you go. Make sure that IMAP is enabled on this account on the Gmail settings web page. Set up the account in Thunderbird again but this time select IMAP.

When you have this second account upwards and running in Thunderbird, you can move messages you want to keep FRO the POP account on the IMAP account, then delete the pop account.

  • How to transfer Thunderbird emails in Gmail?

I would like to know the procedure (step by step) to transfer all my emails from Thunderbird app in an existing Gmail.

Please let me know what I need to set up in my Gmail or Thunderbird (not sure if I need to configure the Gmail and Thunderbird account setting) settings so that the emails to be transferred in chronological order in the respective folders in my Gmail.

    Please explain. Thank you

create an account gmail in Thunderbird imap, drag the mail into folders in IMAP e-mail account.

  • Search for Thunderbird fails to find existing messages.

When I touch information in the search box, some cases are found and others are not. I can grasp the entire e-mail address of a person who recently sent me a message and that the message is not retrieved.

Messages has not found seem to be random, but a message is retrieved either always or never. Hope it's a no-brainer.

Go to the Help menu, and then click troubleshooting information.
Select the button display the profile in the profile section.
    Close Thunderbird
    Delete the file Global-message - db.sqlite
Restart Thunderbird and wait that you just removed to regenerate the search index. (this is perhaps a good time)

  • My IE homepage Google recognizes an Adobe Flash and my Firefox Google needs its own. Also, I can wish to cancel my Firefox entirely... something that conflicts w/one program Mozilla Thunderbird internal functionality, and/or Gmail e-mail? Thank you.

Thank you for reading this question as it is more: I lost my computer internal e-mail function Thunderbird and was new and didn't know how to put Yahoo or another in this function. I signed for Mozilla Firefox for my Toshiba PC laptop, really liked, but don't use it really. I have restored my Thunderbird program, using Gmail for IT... Yahoo had failed. If I decide to delete my Firefox will only malaffect my Mozilla Thunderbird? In addition, for a reason unknown to me, my Firefox does not recognize using the Adobe's Flash in my computer and requires its own...' usual? (I just deleted one of the two.) Thank you. Lynn

First of all, Firefox and Thunderbird are separate programs. You can use one or the other or both. If you decide to uninstall Firefox, which should not have any ill effect on Thunderbird, but of course, it's a good idea to make the regular backups of your computer in case.

Second, Internet Explorer uses a Flash owner drive, you don't need another one for Firefox. If you visit Adobe 'about' page using Firefox, you can push the plugin appropriate for you.

  • Thunderbird on Windows 8.1 sends a message without error, but the mail is not delivered.

New laptop Toshiba current A6 running Windows 8.1. Installed Thunderbird 31.6.0. Configuration completed successfully. Am able to receive the mail, but cannot send. When I send mail, I see the message "connecting to Server" and "mail sent successfully." I DON'T GET ANY KIND OF ERROR MESSAGE. Mail is never with the server.

The automatic configuration of Thunderbird sets out to "SMTP.lakeland.ws" port 587 server. After several failed attempts to send a mail to "[email protected]" myself, I've reconfigured the SMTP outgoing, based on the configuration of my Windows 7 Windows Live Mail on another laptop: "mail.airstreamcomm.net" Port 25.

When I sent mail with this setup I was prompted for the password for my mail server. I gave the password and mail appeared to send. NO ERROR MESSAGE and mail went to the sent queue. Subsequent attempts seem to send the email with the MESSAGE of NO ERROR but never gets the mail on the server Lakeland.ws .

I then remove the account from Thunderbird and launched the automatic sequence of configuration to set the settings back to the original configuration. Still have the problem

    Help, please!

Try to send a mail to [email protected]. I will answer you if I understand, and I think I'll
