Time lapse EOS Utility

I'm trying to use the eos utility to do some fundimentals time, but it seems that the shortest time between photos, that I can put it 5 seconds. It's a bit long for my purposes. Is there a way I can set the time to 1 or 2 seconds instead? I do not enough time to make it worth my time buying an intervalometer.

Hi HowardLane!

Thanks for posting.

The value of most short interval you can set is 5 seconds.  It cannot be set shorter than that.

Hi I use EOS utility version 2.13.10.0 on windows 10 for more than 6 months on 2 different computers with excatly same settings for shooting with Canon EOS 100 d remotely connected directly to the computer with the USB cable.

2 days ago, that the EOS Utility stopped at the beginning of the PC on one of my computers, I received the message "EOS Utility stopped working" and must close the program. I uninstalled and intalled again the program, but without success.

Y at - it a newer version that I can use?

I absolutely need to recover this program because it is part of my routine work. I can't work without this tool.

Please help it is urgent, I need to get this PC to provide services to my clients.

  • EOS Utility - do not launch?

Without apparent reason, EOSU seems to have stopped working, kinda. The main of the application does not load. I use a D70 with EOSU on Win 7. I am trying to connect wirelessly, it worked well enough before.

I tried to use the EOSU updated via the Canon Website, but nothing helped. Before the update, I have paired sussesfully wireless, but as utility devices load after clicking on the icon on the desktop, no error not messaged. Display of the wifi camera seems ok (not) - so I opted for the update. After that, when I click on the EOS UTility, he said only: "application already running."

I'm now at the end after trying everything I could think of, please help!

I discovered what was causing the problem on my computer.  It was AVG Antivirus.  EOS Utility stopped working on another computer and no I thought it was very strange.  I started looking harder at my configurations and start to turn things off. Of course, it is AVG Antivirus. As soon as I disabled it the EOS utility has started working. They must have had a recent update causing problems because he was working before. No error in AVG so I'll have a few words of choice with them. To disable a program is unacceptable and does not display any notification that you do. I spent a considerable amount of time troubleshooting.

  • EOS Utility multiple programs at once?

    Hello world

I have a really quick question.  I have a project where I have 4 Rebel T3I connected to a device and want to know if there is a way to launch an individual EOS Utility application for each of them.  When I first launch the utility, it asks me to choose which device I want to use.  Save time of closing and reopening the application to choose a different device, I would like to just run four applications simultaneously.  It is not the end of the world if I can't, it would simply make life a little easier.

    Thank you!

    dthielemier,

You are right.  Multiple instances of EOS Utility can not be launched for you to connect to several different cameras.

  • Canon 5dm 3, EOS utility - remote live view - can't stop the automatic exposure.

Canon 5dm 3. Addicted to the PC running view EOS utility - remote control - live. Utility EOS insists on auto exposure even if the camera is set to manual and ISO is NOT automatic.

    Hi mannfilm!

    Thanks for posting.

I would like to ask a questions in order to get a better understanding of the issue and what can be the cause of this.

    1. When you look at distance window, the letter M appears indicating manual exposure is defined?
    2. What exposure values change?
    3. You have activated exposure Simulation?
    4. The resulting image appears different from the image you see in the window?

  • I can trigger a flash remotely from the EOS Utility?

Hello. I am a total newbie, so forgive me if my question is very basic or confused.

I just bought a Rebel T5i (literally, my first ever buy SLR) and have been using the EOS utility to be able to "live view" on my desktop screen. It seems to work pretty well.

However, I am interested with the addition of a flash remotely as a Speedlite flash, to be placed between the subject and background. Will be a remote flash correctly from live view EOS Utility work? Should it be a Speedlite flash, or can it be a third flash?

I'm not too considered with flash quality as much as I just want to be able to take pictures with the EOS Utility live view, with the remote flash fires to light a backdrop behind the subject.

    Thank you!

As Ernie points out... the computer simply tells the camera when taking the shot.  If the camera has a flash, then the camera fires the flash when he takes this one.

But your question is loaded with some nuances and it is not just a direct response.

A Canon T5i has the ability to fire distance a Canon speedlite if three conditions are met:

    (1) the flash must support E - TTL

    (2) the flash must support E - TTL mode 'slave' (and that the mode must be enabled - it will not be enabled by default.)

    (3) flash must be direct "corridor" between the camera and remotely.

The camera itself needs to be said that it is in a mode where the flash pop up on the device will work as a 'master' to trigger a remote flash.

But you mentioned that you wanted to put this flash to distance between a subject and the context - which implies that 'line of sight' is not possible.  Who calls other WIRING.

You can learn a lot about flash systems Canon E - TTL of the "Manual of the Speedlighter" (by Syl Arena), but this book has not been updated (as far as I know) to include systems flash triggered by Canon's new radio.

To do this with the Canon gear, you want a transmitter of radio ST-E3-RT (which amounts to the hoof as a flash camera) and then use a flash Canon Speedlight with a suffix 'RT' such as flash 600EX-RT (flash light) or the new 430EX III - RT.  All products of "RT" communicate by radio and do not require a line of sight direct.

It is also possible to do with budget gear..., you can get a pair of transceivers trigger... we're going on the device and the other goes hand in hand with the remote flash.  These radio triggers are not "E - TTL", which means that the camera and the flash will not be able to communicate and negotiate the amount of energy must be used for shooting "on the fly" (as can an E - TTL flash).  This means that you will need to manually set the power level you want to use.

Having to use manual flash should not be terribly difficult to learn.  The flash and the camera usually automatically set your power level, as it would for E - TTL flashes.  You control the light, by adjusting the power level of the flash (manually) or by moving the flash closer or away from your topic (or using the flash light modifiers) more, or by adjusting the opening of the camera.

This works well in a situation of type 'studio', where you can control the power settings.  But for photography of the 'event' where you have to shoot on-the-fly and you "-over" If rush you the shot, you have to learn the flash behavior before the shooting. For me, it means creating a table which indicates (for any given on the flash power level) f-stop, should I use any flash-to-subject distance given.  I used usually non-zooms at this time, but I knew that, for example, a shot of 'dance' a couple of size - up to (what we call a "half coup" because we have only half upper body of our subject) was f/16 at ISO 100.  A length of 3/4 shot (essentially from the knees upwards) was f/11.  A shot of 'length' was f/8, and a group shot can be f/5.6 or even f/4.

It necessary to the good days past tests and completing such a table.  You won't have the time to refer to such a table, but I mentally memorized by distance because the subject framing was a good consistent indicator of distance.  (it is a bit more complicated with zooms because you can change the subject framing without changing the distance).   But in the end, you find yourself in a situation where you go back to a subject at a demonstration, the frame of the shooting, set the aperture value and capture the image and know that you nailed the exposure even if the whole system is manual.

There are a lot of tutorials on the use of the manual of flash and inexpensive triggers to the Strobist blog (strobist.blogspot.com).

I use the Canon system.  I use the Canon ST-E3-RT trigger a few flashes 600EX-RT.  The system is rock solid... it always works.

  • DSLRs not visible in the Photo (Lightroom & EOS Utility) applications

Digital SLR cameras are not visible in Lightroom/tethered capture or EOS Utility, but at the same time the memory card in the camera is accessible through Windows Explorer. The same happens at least with Canon EOS 600 and Nikon D800. Both cameras are supported by applications and Windows 7 are without problems. Both applications are Windows 8 compatible, it is the only feature that I found works is not in Windows 8, so far. It seems that Windows Explorer keeps the camera (or memory card) as long as his private property and are not let other applications to use.

Both applications try to control the camera. Is there a setting or other workaround for this?

    Hello

From your problem description, I understand that you want to know why the digital SLR cameras are not visible in Lightroom/tethered capture. Please let me know if you do not experience this problem.

There is no information on the Canon EOS 600 but the Nikon d 800 is compatible. I suggest you to check the Web site of the manufacturer for updates for the camera. If no update is present, I suggest you to contact CANON or NIKON Support.

Hope this information is helpful and let us know if you need help with Windows in the future. We will be happy to help.

  • Time-lapse on PE11 - how to?

Just bought (a steal at GBP11-79 equivalent USD 16-70) a Neewer timer remote control Rs-60E3 for Canon 550 d / T2I specifically to start photography of time, another new start for me.

I would like to know if there is an article on the Discussion Forum on how to treat separate pictures to get a good effect.   Harrington on one of its sites has a few videos on getting real photos (and I don't know that he is right to insist on their shooting in RAW format and treatment in ACR before making the video).

Steve has a section on the creation of a slide show in the menu Organizer (and also earlier in the book in the active project, I believe) but I have not yet tried it, and I couldn't see (although I only looked through it quickly) something specific on what makes time.

For a time effect, you import, say, a couple of hundred files, make a slideshow, simply use the tender time to speed up the final product?

No doubt the length by default in imported seconds still photos also has to be re-defined, for example, 1 second, 2 seconds?  (If this is the case, would be a so there is no need to change with the Time Stretch?)

I looked at the Muvipix site, but could not immediately see the time, and I have not yet found anything on Harrington on transforming the RAW files in the timelapse video (also it is not dealing specifically with PE).

Thanks in advance for any guidance on this.

BTW, the customer examines all say the timer Neewer (as above) is as good as more expensive Canon, the equivalent but they all lament the fact that there is no power switch although most adds that it is a simple matter of the batteries after each use.

Part of my interest in the time, apart from the inherent fascination of the thing, must deal with the problems of making videos in very low light or at night.

    Brian

    Brian,

I use the method of Steve, for both time-lapse and Stop-Motion project - similar, but with some differences.

I have one of my utilities, such as Adobe Bridge (sort of Organizer similar, but with more power and available only with Adobe, such as PS programs, PrE, I, AE, etc.), NaMo (older, free utility file naming), ThumbsPlus (commercial file Organizer) or SuperExplorer (a replacement of Windows Explorer with more power for some things), allows you to rename my files usually a sequentially numbered, say [Clouds_00001.jpg, through Clouds_00099].

That you set depends on the look you want. I did some, where I wanted to only 1 Frame, by Image, but also made a few, where perhaps dry. 01 (25 fps PAL-Land) gave me the 'look' I was looking for.

If you go with a short time, then you will probably have to add chained Cross-fades between Images, and to do this, you can set the duration of the fade way down, to the right, to the 1 x 1/2, the duration of the Images. If I were to decide that 25 images (01 s duration) was perfect, then I would put the length of the crossfade about o1 dry too.

To determine the 'look', what you want, I do a test with only a few Images and experiment with their length, the longer the cross-dissolves, until I had it just as I wanted - then delete the timeline and import these Images, placing them on the timeline.

    Good luck

  • I can slow down a video in Time lapse

I can slow down a video in Time lapse

Is this related to iPhoto for Mac somehow? What is the source of the video? How are you viewing?

  • Time lapse setting

While endearing taped sister memorial service, I had accidentally camera set time-lapse which resulted in a very quick video.  Is there anyway I can it slow down at normal speed?

    Sorry friend...

  • How to slow the time-lapse video I took?

Accidentally, I recorded a video using Time lapse video functionality.  How can I slow down the video to view it?

In addition, he did not record sound when it is in Time lapse mode?

You do not have. Time is quick, so time happens or is struck by decay more quickly. This audio is not recorded, and it would be completely incomprehensible at the expiration of the speeds.

Time lapse ignores also usually several frames to expedite the passage of time. So even if slow, most of the data wouldn't be there to see.

  • Time lapse with the Camileo P10 or Camileo Pro HD

    Hello

I have two of these cameras and I understand this time photography is possible with them? I've certainly seen some footage on youtube that are supposed to be done with the P10.

I've been through the menu on both and I don't see how it's done! Anyone able to help please?

I had to google for + time lapse photography + because I didn't know what it is.
    Now I m a little bit underhand ;)

I guess that both don t camcorders are supported by this feature I also checked the user manual but could not find any details about it.

  • How to do a Time lapse with Playmemories Home video?

I have a Sony HDR-AS30v camera and used to create movies of the time. However, the camera itself does not record the Time lapse as a movie but rather as JPEG files. I guess playmemories House would have the functionality to keep these different JPEG files and provide the tools to do a Time lapse video, but I'm yet to find it. In the meantime, I use Studio of GoPro, who did an impressive job of creating Time lapse, I really think it's funny but the Sony has a camera, which has the particularity of Time lapse, it does not save as a movie and does not provide a tool to make a film.

Check with the community, if I do it all just bad and there is infact a way to make Time lapse with PlayMemories home movies.

So far, thanks GoPro and their awesome tool, without it I'd be stuck.

I also tried Microsoft Movie Maker, however found that after 1500 JPEGs, it crashes.

It is true that the software PlayMemories home (WPH) doesn't have the ability to compile the pictures taken in a movie. We appreciate that you take the time to provide this feedback, and we will pass to our engineers for review.

  • How to disable the auto launch in canon EOS utility on my mac?

Can someone let me know if you can disable this automatic launch. I'd like to use capture one, utliity eos on my computer as a backup plan. With the eos utility auto launches it will not capture to mount the camera. I tested it on my tour where I have the utility and capture works perfectly. So I think this is the device of auto-launch or it could just be that eos is installed and which has precedence.

    I use the eos utility 2 - 2.14.20.2 with a mark II

    My os is Yosemite 10.10.5

Thanks in advance for any help

    See you soon,.

In the Canon utilities in the Applications folder, there will be an EOS Utility folder. In this case would be an EOS Utility application and EOS Utility 3 folder. If you run the application it gives you the icon on the menu bar.
