Hi mceventphoto,

Welcome to the Community Forums of Lenovo!

You can try and visit these parameters,

Go to the control panel to access the Date and time

> Check if your time zone is Correct

> Click on the tab that says time Internet / click on change settings and uncheck the sync with a Web server.

>>. If it is not enabled already, try to check it out and make sure that its game to time.windows.com

  • Lenovo Y400 issues, include freezing at startup, not closing, etc.

Hi, my name is Julian and I would appreciate much all the advice of someone who could help me with my computer problem. I had this Y400 about 3 to 4 months. I had a lot of problems with it recently. First whenever I start it after about a minute, it will freeze for a few minutes. It has also a problem down. The only way I can shut down is to use the power button, if I close it out normally the screen will just black but the backlight stays on. Also, if I stop if using the power button, when it lights up after that it will really take a lot of time in the loading screen (it comes before it freezes) and will always say 'Please wait '. I was told that the reason why ice is because of all of the lenovo stuff put on the computer opens at the beginning and it is too heavy for the hard drive. I then thought maybe I completelty uninstall and reinstall windows (I have windows 8) and return the computer to its 'factory settings' is an option in the General settings for the computer. But then I know not all the drivers I need to install and whatnot. I could really use some help to determine what is the right thing to do... I think I might have warranty on it so lenovo could just fix but I don't know. There are also a few pips miny and other problems such as overheating waaaaay to much when I'm not even done anything else than the departure upward and close the problems are the greatest. Yet once if someone doesn't bother me just spend a few minutes and just trying to help me that would be great. One last thing, it is that when I close the lid... it's actually a very big problem. When I close the lid, it will go to the as if its loading screen just turn on. And then the screen will turn blue and either ask to restart or shut down the computer or watch the Advanced... again please just take some time and try to help me, it is very appreciated, Julian

From what you say, I see you have a software problem. Simply reinstall the OS and install the proper drivers. The drivers are:

    (1) LAN

    (2) power Mangemnet

    (3) card reader

    Camera 4)

    (5) chipset

    (6) most recent graphics NVIDIA driver

    (7) audio

    Management parts 8)

    (9) Bluetooth

Here is the link to the driver download page. (Note: do not install the drivers mentioned above)

    http://support.Lenovo.com/en_IN/downloads/default.page?

Installation of these drivers are essential. However, if you want intsaller others, then you can but they only make your system slow. I say this from personal experience.

It would be good, if you create a partition. This will ensure that you don't lose all the data while reinstalling windows the next time.

Don't worry it will be all good.

  • Lenovo Y400 does not start correctly

I bought a Y400 Ideapad in January 2013 and over time, the number of times where I had some random restarts or inability to properly start has increased. For the startup problem I press the power button and I hear the sound of the computer turn on but the screen does not turn on and does nothing. This can continue for many tests until it actually reaches the login screen. Sometimes I spam F8 or F1, just to be able to get to the startup Lenovo screen, but then it does that press the buttons are supposed to do.

I called support and the last time I called they think that its a few horses of Trojan or virus and they say that the only help they can give me is some service $200 where they call a technician to come look at my laptop. After that call I ran things like AVAST, Malwarebytes and Super AntiSpyware Combofix without result. I used the One Touch recovery to restore the original configuration, and I still have this problem.

I don't know what to do anymore.

    Hi sdy007,

    Yep

According to the explanations here on the forums of Neokenchi

"Calibration retry count is the number of times that the HARD drive has initialized (the head alignment and tracks) when the computer is turned on and it took 91 times to calibrate beaches head to HARD drive - this may seem like an imminent HARD drive failure.

You can contact the Support technique Lenovo to get the HARD drive replaced it should be covered, you can ask them on your options on getting to this fact.

  • M92p tour UAP Options

There are a few threads on 14pin propreitary POWER connectors and that there is no support alternative for upgrades. But it's a bit of time and Lenovo (around the office, my staff ask them "The-Noo-Noo" now) has no political change, or offered an upgrade.

We received several of these PC i7 and they all useless 280w PSU. Those are severely limiting in what video cards can be installed, as anything above 55w will reverse the PSU. This means, no card decent. 51W, a Quadro 2000 is just as much as we can go.

My rep CEP has endeavoured to find a solution for us, but without success. So I do it come to the community before I have to re - evaluate our choice of office equipment.

Everyone made an adapter or a power supply that works on motherboards 14 pins of Lenovo?

(Oh, and Yes, I read http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/A-M-and-Edge-Series-ThinkCentre/M92P-14pin-power-supply-connector/m-p/84... . No help there. Thought, that I post a clear question here in the hope that someone started making adapters).

  • Motherboard model H535 failure - the type of machine and the serial number invalid after replacement

Does anyone know how to set the new Type of Machine and the serial number after a motherboard for a replacement model H535?

The motherboard has recently failed on my model H535 (7 months after the expiration of the warranty - thanks, Lenovo). No local garage would agree to replace due to its nature of owners (thanks, Lenovo). I spent about four hours on the phone being bounced into back-and-forth between the many support staff (usually combined) Lenovo in sales, technical support, support of parts of IBM and various other departments (thanks, Lenovo), which one has suggested that I might have to try to find a motherboard on Ebay or Amazon for my computer in less-than-2-year-old. However, I finally get to someone at Lenovo, which has been able to sell a motherboard - for 2/3 of the cost of the original computer.

Now, I installed the motherboard, and it works. However, during each boot, I get a POST with two beeps error which reads as follows:

00CE error: Machine Type and serial number is INVALID

Start of manufacturing sequence is taken if no selection is made

I presume that the BIOS on the new motherboard must be programmed with the right Type of Machine and the serial number of my computer. I've read various things on the Internet about what to do, as updating the BIOS (I can not even find a BIOS under "downloads" of support for the H535 - thanks, Lenovo model), using WinPhlash (I apparently need one kind of BIOS ROM file to make it work, I don't have), getting a Lenovo hardware maintenance disk for my model (which apparently isn't available for other special people only me - thanks Lenovo), etc.

The waiting time for Lenovo support are ridiculously long, and almost every customer support person is ridiculously uninformed on the difference between one of their computer models, and even less their motherboards (thanks, Lenovo). I am amazed and extremely frustrated. It shouldn't be rocket science.

On a side note, I initially bought the computer from Staples with a credit card with extended warranty protection, which means I can get a refund for repair. Although the motherboard came with a packing list, no Bill has been provided by Lenovo, and I couldn't make them send one - or maybe even with success to explain what a Bill is (thanks, Lenovo).

Well, Lenovo support was useless, and any alleged authorized suppliers were in fact still suppliers or could help with my problem. But I was finally able to fix it myself. Once I found the right piece of software, it has been fixed in less than a minute.

My BIOS is by American Megatrends, and I discovered that they have a set of utilities that includes a called AMIDEDOS. It is intended for manufacturers to be able to change the strings of text stored in the BIOS for things like the manufacturer, product name, Version, number series, UUID, SKU number, family, etc., that is what I had to do. It is not intended for use by consumers, but it's there.

When I ran the "DMIEdit.exe" program AMIDEDOS (clicked and ran as administrator from 10 Windows) and click on "System information" from the list, I saw "Product Name | STRING | Invalid' and ' serial number | STRING | NOT VALID ". The other fields appeared to have valid entries. I double-clicked on the fields valid and changed their "H535 model" and the serial number of my computer, respectively and then clicked on "Update all" at the top.

Much to my surprise, he reported that he had successfully registered the new information. And, perhaps even more surprising is the fact that, when I rebooted, the double beep and the warning about the type of computer not valid and serial number have disappeared. In addition, the BIOS showed I had entered the new values, and the 'Manufacturing Boot Sequence' option (I understand can be much slower than a normal boot) had disappeared.

Again, I'm a little surprised simple it was actually solve the problem once I got the correct software, or Lenovo part nor American Megatrends apparently offers to the owners, and it took hours and hours of research and research to understand. Use this information at your own risk, however, as playing with BIOS apparently can lead to problems not easily solved. That said, the modification of these text strings seems relatively safe.

I will mention that I also ended up changing the method of "LEGACY" to "UEFI" boot in the BIOS after noticing that the selection.

  • P50/P70 BIOS beep codes

Does anyone have the BIOS beep codes for the P50/P70 Thinkpads? Almost everytime I start mine beeps at me.

3 short beeps, pause, 1 beep, pause, 1 beep, pause, 3 short beeps.

I called tech support and they wanted me to uninstall the RAM I added after I got the system, or they want to send me the computer to replace the RAM and the system. I do not think that those who are the problem, however. After he gets a beep, it loads well every time. Lenovo solutions Centre zero errors with my system. No problem with processor, chipset and memory. Windows recognizes all 32GB of my RAM when it loads as well.

Any ideas? I'm disinclined to send my system back because otherwise it usually seems to work OK.

A 3-1-1-3 beep code heard at the start after change of memory reserved Thunderbolt from 1 GB to 2 GB in the Setup of the BIOS indicates a lack of PCI memory resources. After the beep, BIOS allows you to adjust the resource memory PCI allocated to love at first sight, then automatically restarts the system.

Please note that Lenovo recommends running a 64-bit instead of 32-bit Windows operating system when you use the Thunderbolt of 2 GB of memory reserved parameter.

In the setting of several screens or other devices to the Garland of Thunderbolt, Lenovo recommends the use of the resource of memory of 2 GB to the BIOS Setup and deal with the 3-1-1-3 model beep to restart the computer after changing the configuration of the BIOS as successful confirmation of change the BIOS POST.

When you attach a monitor or a couple of other devices, Lenovo recommends the use of the resource of memory of 1 GB in BIOS Setup.

  • The maximum size hard drive S10?

It's my first time using Lenovo forums and even if this response is for the S-20 I have a follow-up on the issue, but for the S-10. My apologies if this is a place inappropriate post/answer but research positions that it seemed as close to my situation as possible without starting a new thread.

I'm currently configured with the W7 Pro OS on its own hard drive, and filled the other bays with a pair of WD Caviar Green WD10EARS 1 hard drives to RAID-1 configuration. I want to bump up the black Caviar; However, before I deposit money on discs (returns are very difficult here in Viet Nam) I would like to assure you of two things:

    1] can the S-10 handle 6 Gbit/s drives or should I stay with 3 gb/s?

[2] can handle the S-10 that a pair of 2 TB of RAID-1 disks is configured?

Thank you very much in advance for any help on this point. I live in Viet Nam and find info on people of Lenovo here may be somewhat problematic. ;-)

(mod note: divide the question in a new discussion and put to update the title of the post to match)

    (1) S10 can use 6 gb/s disks, but they will only work in 3 GB/s.

    (2) Yes it can.

  • Y570 windows 8 BSOD after installation

I tried to install windows 8 twice, and each time when he tries to start for the first time that I am presented with a blue screen of death image. The text under which gives more information on the problem appears only on one image before the computer restarts. I do a Windows 7 upgrade install and uninstalled the bluetooth driver.

Any help on what is at the origin of the problem would be appreciated. I can provide more information as requested.

Fear that their is nothing you can do about it at this time. Lenovo RapidDrive bootloader is not compatible with Windows 8.

You must wait for Lenovo RapidDrive for Windows 8 update.

If you continue to install Windows 8, you might install on SSD by using the tool "Rapid Drive"

  • T530, not replaceable hard drive (no screws!)

I just got a Thinkpad T530, and the first thing I wanted to do is placed in an old hard drive. It is usually * incredible * easy to do on any computer, and I expected to be especially true in a lenovo.

It seems that my computer missing a screw, or the user's guide is incorrect. Incidentally, very frustrating:

The user guide T530 says that you remove the screws located here:

But on my computer, it has no screws here! I tried to remove all the screws in the vicinity and the plate did not move, and it's obviously anchored at this time:

Lenovo sent me the wrong T530 by mistake while I have another that I am about to return, and that there is no a screw here either. When you lift up on the keyboard at the top, it is obvious that the HD is located in this area (but it is not accessible from the top)

I've hunted all around the internet and I see someone complaining about this, but I have 2 computers with the same thing. Is it a defect? Am totally missed something? It's been 2 months to try to move things with lenovo and it is super annoying. I would appreciate any advice on how to talk about HD on this.
