  Go to Administration > Dimensions > select a Dimension > select the Member you want to assign filters acccess to:-assign access
  Repeat the process for all the access permissions.

• Refresh planning to Essbase via batchscript

  I am trying to automate a refresh from planning to Essbase. Normally we would do so through the planning Interface, Administration / Management of databases / refresh database. However, this process takes about 3 hours, when it's a dense restructuring involved. that is when one of our dense dimensions has changed.
  Therefore, we cannot run the update during opening hours and need to put this process in a batch, preferably the lot at night running the rest of the Essbase Calc.
  
  We are studying the use of the CUBEREFRESH utility. CMD I uses the following syntax of the C:/Hyperion/products/planning/bin/directory:
  
  cuberefresh.cmd A:arcbsbud /U:admin u/r
  
  the name of the application is ARCBSBUD
  
  But if I use the /D parameter or not, I get the error saying: "impossible to update a database, you must use the/d or the /F. parameter.
  
  I use this command properly?
  
  Assuming I can get this command to work, my main problem is that this command must be run from the planning server. However my scripts batch to day to day on a different server, the Essbase server, so I need a way to run the update, call it my script of commands on the Essbase server. I'm needd to run everything in one package so that it can run sequentially.
  
  Is the way to go, cuberefresh.cmd or am I barking the wrong tree completely?

• Why Essbase filters not updated by planning 9.3.1.0?

  (1) I added a READ access to the biennial members (planning 9.3.1) user Sandy in two cubes, but he has not created a READ access in a filter for third cube. It's so strange...

  First of all, I'm not suggesting just deleting records in the planning tables.

  If you apply security to a member for a dimension, so I don't think the security filter update, if you apply the security for all dimensions that have security is enabled for a particular user, then it will create a filter for them.

• Refresh planning error

  We have a problem during the refresh. Here are the newly migrated prod to QA applications by copying of Oracle DB in the backend. Everything went well and we have tried to refresh the Planning, said he successfully refresh is done. But when I see the essbase outline, it does not show the members updated in outline.

  -If so, please tell me how. or point me to a resource that I can use as a guide.

  N ° Donot you specify a database in /d To understand this refresh job, first of all I would say to do a sample update from web Planning, which could chase away your confusion. These parameters are nothing, but what you choose as options when you cool down with the web console for planning.

  Is there a reason why my Essbase filter not working properly?

  I have installation and stocked my groups in sharing services and then went on the essbase server to create filters. Is there something that I am missing because it is a new installation of 11.1.2.4, because these types of filters work on our old version that we currently use?

  

  There is nothing to do with the installation and I don't know why you say that the data base is wide open to all users.

• Essbase service starts not (planning 11.1.2.3.501)

  Work with Planning version: 11.1.2.3.501

  This morning we received the following error message in planning when you open a form:

  "Unable to get a connection for Hyperion Essbase. If the problem persists, please contact your administrator. "

  For our UAT environment, it was enough to just stop and start services. For our production environment, all the services seem to be start correctly, but when I try to connect to Essbase through the administrative console I get the following error:

  Error [10061] network: could not connect to [BXTS131040.eu.rabonet.com:1423]

  When I run diagnostics I get the following error (see attachment):

  Validate the connection to the server Essbase to BXTS131040.eu.rabonet.com

  Error: Could not connect to the olap service. Unable to connect to the server of Essbase to 'BXTS131040.eu.rabonet.com:1423 '. Error network [10061]: unable to connect to [BXTS131040.eu.rabonet.com:1423]

  Recommended action: check Essbase server is started.

  The startup log does not say much either. Watch only a different way of exploitation forest (UNKNOWN?) and THREADS is [1 num] rather than [issue 4]. I don't know where to look for this "UNKNOWN" part in the log... see below:

  I tested and there is no problem at all, if your planning server is 32-bit, you just install the 32-bit Essbase client that can communicate with the 64-bit server.

  As I could not achieve security at the cellular level through planning, I changed for this user security filters in Essbase. Is there a problem if the security between planning and Essbase is not synchronized? We are on Hyperion 9.3.1.

  The only problem you will get really, it's that when you refresh planning with checked filters and then they will be recreated in essbase.

• Filters of Essbase to complete planning security

  I am running 9.3.1.
  
  I ran into an issue with security SmartView and did some research here on the forums. In order to create safety campaigns and periods dimensions in a planning application, it has been posted that additional Essbase filters are necessary.
  
  I ran into a problem with adding them through the Regional service Console. So, before we go into that, should I just add them via MaxL?
  
  When I'm in the console, I create the filter and go to the table of the user and click on modify to add the filter to the particular database.
  
  However, when I get to the database, I can't change the 'calculation' to 'filter '. The drop down menu does not appear.
  
  When I go into shared Services, the planning application is not under the Essbase server, which I expected, but then I don't know what I have to change to allow users to filter access Essbase on a planning application.
  
  Any help would be appreciated.

  Planning will create the user level filters, the filter will be preceded by the letter f and then have the user name according to eg fPlanningUser

  There is a CubeRefresh.cmd utility which refreshes planning to Essbase. You can find it in planning > Bin directory (whose location varies depending on which version you use). Take a look at the doc to help below:
