Hi can someone tell me how to emulate the serialterminal window in labview?  or give me a simple code to do?

Basically, I want to create a hyper terminalprogram using labVIEW? I have search for labview as an example but I wasnot able to find anything.

I am able to send a bite at a time to themachine, but I want to have the interface of terminal as a window. You can pleasehelp?

Another sidenote: use rs232, buad rate is 9600.

Have you tried a Search?

First success.

  • How to create a strictly typed control refnum using LabVIEW scripts

I want to use LabVIEW to create a strictly typed refnum control that is bound to my custom control (a defined cluster), but I'm not familiar with scripts and can't see how to do it.

If I create a new object of VI, with Refnum of control as the Style, how can I give my custom class object VI control terminal? When I try to use a reference to my control.ctl file customized (using the Open VI reference) I get an error: 'error 1057 occurred... ". Type mismatch: object cannot be cast to the specified type. »

Alternatively, if I create a new Refnum of control as above, using a standard Cluster as the object of VI class, how I can convert this refnum control to a strictly typed refnum, which is related to my custom cluster control type?

Thanks in advance for any advice,

I tried, and as usual, things were slightly different.  The big problem is that a constant control reference becomes a node, not a constant, so cannot be converted to a control.  The good news is that you simply move to the front of the new control, as you would in the dev environment.  Here is the raw code (always needs cleaning to close the refs and add save of the new control, and more, you don't need to show the FP control if you do not want).

  • By using Labview 7.1 created EXE in Windows Mobile 6.0

Can I use my edition of the profeesion of 7.1 to create EXE files to run on Windows Mobile 6.0?  I created EXE files and then run directly on touch screen XP embedded without special Touchscreen Mobule.  I was wondering if this is possible under Windows Mobile 6.0?

This does not work for various reasons. First XP Embedded is just XP with more control on which modules to install and what not. Second reason, it also only works on Intel/AMD x 86 processors. So if you create an executable in LabVIEW for Windows, it will run under XP embedded too, provided that you do not access system services that have not been installed on your XP embedded system.

Laptop (or as it was earlier called Windows CE) is built in the same way as the Windows API but is not the same. Applications are only (with many limits) source compatible between laptop and normal Windows, but absolutely not binary compatible. Also all Mobile PC systems running on a RISC CPU as the ARM architecture. For these processors has compiled executable for the x 86 CPU architecture is simply a waste of bytes no meaning whatsoever.

As says altenbach that LabVIEW PDA module to create executable files for Mobile PC systems. But beware, portable PC systems are not at all comparable to desktop systems. The performance of your hardware is magnitudes less, Windows CE (laptop) API is much narrower than on the Windows desktop and PDA module also for this reason has its own limitations. Do not expect a sign before be worn flawlessly to your PDA. There is much less control to choose and also the limited screen real estate is another severe limitation on applications of port Office seamlessly to a PDA.

  • Can I automate creating a cluster in LabView using the structure of data created in a generated automatically. CSV, C header or XML file?

Can I automate creating a cluster in LabView using the data structure created in an auto generated. CSV, C header or XML file?  I am trying to take the data structure defined in one or more of these files listed and have LabView automatically create a cluster with structure types and the same data.  (Ideally, I would like to do it with a C header file only.)  Basically, I'm trying to avoid having to create the cluster by hand, as the number of cluster elements could be very large. I looked in EasyXML and contacted the rep for the add-on.  Unfortunately, this feature was not created yet.  Did anyone done something like this before? Thanks in advance for the help.

  • How to create a certificate using the keytool / terminal?

I have problems with the creation of certificates using the Terminal. I use the instructions below and exactly all the information required. When he asks me to type 'Yes' and confirm, the whole process starts right at the beginning over and over and I have to type in the same things. Do I did wrong? How can I confirm the information I typed in?

I'm trying to create a certificate to sign the apps for GooglePlay and Amazon. I use professional DPS.

    Thanks for the help!

    Directions for use:

(Mac OS) Create a certificate using Keytool

Open Terminal, located in Applications > utilities.

Type (or paste) the following line (replace "myname.key.p12" with the actual name of your certificate):

    1

    keytool - genkey - v - keystore myname.key.p12 - alias alias_name - keyalg RSA - keysize 2048 - stores pkcs12-validity 10000

The "10000" specification sets the expiration date after 22 October 2033.

Enter and enter a password. Until the Viewer constructor supports the creation of custom Android applications, it is necessary to share this password with Adobe. Create a password that you can share.

Follow the prompts to specify the certificate information.

When you are prompted to confirm the choice, enter Yes and press return to use the same password.

A certificate is created in your quick location, such as your user name folder. Copy the certificate file to a known location. Note the password as well.

It could be access question. Enable the root user, and then try again.

  • Programmatically insert step of ActiveX/COM using LabVIEW

    Hello

I would like to be able to create sequences like the one set using LabVIEW.

This sequence has only 2 steps, a LabVIEW VI call and an adapter of ActiveX/COM call.

I was able to do using an adaptation of the code here: https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-36337

However, I am struggling to add the step of the ActiveX/COM.

    Any help would be welcome.

    Thank you

Of course, there is a way, if you look for it

Since you have an existing 'Step' class object, you can also get a 'Module' object for her. Subsequently, you will need to specify that it is an ActiveX module. If you do not know which - probably you need to get the object 'map' somehow... Our case is simpler, so just cast to the ActiveX module and... to set certain properties like ServerId, ActiveXReferenceExpr and so on.

I've attached an example for you. Interesting thing is the ServerId - I just read this chain of the TS for similar action and reused it here so do not ask me how to get automatically

You will need to complete your 'properties' as 'file' - but I'll gracefully leave this work for you =.

  • Deal with failure when using LabVIEW 2011 and DSC MODBUS communication

I'm currently reading from operating records a PLC with MODBUS/TCP. I confirmed that the PLC will update the values and in response to a MODBUS communication correctly by using a third-party program called Modbus Poll. However, when I try to query the PLC using the LabVIEW shared variable engine, I am unable to read the values of the same addresses that I consult with Modbus Poll.

My installation is simply to a PC directly connected to the controller via Ethernet without a router between the two. I'm using LabVIEW 2011 SP1 with the DSC module.

I opened the Manager of distributed systems OR to display the State of all variables in the Modbus Library that I created, and I noticed that the ILO CommFail permanently the value 'true '. All other variables with a 'read' access mode signal "failure of process". I tried to restart the process and stop and start the local variable engine without success. I also restarted my computer several times to see if any services did not exist, but this does not appear to have solved the problem.

Finally, I resorted to listening to communications on the network card I have the PLC connected via Ethernet using Wireshark and found that while Modbus Poll communicates with PLC, number of MODBUS and TCP packet is sent and received. However, when using only LabVIEW or the DSM OR communicate with the controller, there don't seem to be any communication on the network card.

Something that may be interesting to note is that I could communicate with the PLC and to read values with the DSM just once, when I understood everything first what address I should be reading of. All of this has stopped working shortly after. Prior to this, 'CommFail' was not generally set to 'true' with my current setup. Thinking it was my firewall, I have since disabled my firewall, but this seems to have had no effect on the problem either.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

So, I thought about it. It turns out that the IP address of the server i/o MODBUS must be set to the address of the MODBUS slave, not the local computer. The address of the i/o MODBUS server is defined by the navigation in the Explorer window projects, expanding the variable engine shared library for MODBUS and right click on the server MODBUS (for example Modbus1) item and select Properties.

In addition, the addresses seem to be shifted by + 1.

    Thanks for the tip so.

  • Do another counter for usb-6008 VI using Labview 8.5

I want to create another counter for usb-6008 using Labview 8.5, it is necessary to calculate the two gears simultaneously.

The best way to proceed is to use the meter.  The counter counts
signals without having to interrupt the system or use the USB bus.
When you ask the number of ticks that saw the meter, one
request is thrown from the CPU to the USB line to the 6008, which then
request counter "ticks how have you seen?  This number is
returned on the USB bus, goes to the CPU and display on your
screen.  Given that the DIO lines on the 6008 are software timed, it is
no way to guarantee that the data back to the central unit is
deterministic.  The conceptual difference between software-controlled
DIO (that nondeterministically returns an entire stream) and a
meter software-tick-application-controlled (which returns a unique number
with the number of ticks) prevents us from using the DIO lines on the
6008. the best way to count more edges is buying more 6008 s.
Another possibility would be to buy a PCI card to counter such as
the PCI-6602, who owns 8 counters. Most of the counters we offer in the
USB form factor is 2 per device.

  • How to implement the wafer map using LabVIEW?

    Hello LabVIEW Masters!

I have a project which includes control and searching for information on a PROBER. One of the difficulties I have now is how to implement a WAFER card using LabVIEW. According to the requirements of my client, the element of pads varies between 6 k and 23 k. I guess that do everything (a = a ctl/indicator led) will be a hell of a task, especially on how to effectively manipulate each elements. Does anyone have a better idea on the way whose that?

Please, I seriously need your help...

    Thank you and best regards,

    Dennis DG

    Hi Dennis,

    This wafer GerdW post card appears to me as a sort of histogram (for example http://www.ni.com/white-paper/4158/en#toc3);

Altenbach post well this example that shows how to use a plot of intensity to create a 2d histogram:

    http://forums.NI.com/T5/LabVIEW/overlay-plots-as-intensity-graph/m-p/211222#M119248

Learn how it works and try to adapt it to your specific task.

  • Complete equipment of simulation using LabView, Multisim, and MAX (easy answer accepted!)

    Hello, all!

Sorry, I'm new, but I checked around for a definitive answer on this, but I'm not 100% sure.  I learn LabView for a physics of upper-division course.  We use hardware (DAQ - MX) and a mixture of laboratory equipment - mainly stuff such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes and test setup with simple components.  I also work with NIM instrumentation, but that's secondary to my needs here.  So, when I'm away from the school, is it possible to make a complete simulation of my classroom work using LabView, Multisim (for my model) and the measurement and Automation Explorer (for the acquisition of data-MX)?  I know I can create a circuit and drop it in Labview, but I'm not sure on the acquisition of data.  I hope for what is a "seamless" reconstruction of what I do in class.  I can't take a simple 'yes' or ""; as long as I know it's possible, I can find the solution.

    Thanks for the help!

I wrote 'sim' screws in many situations where I need to work away from the hardware store.  I think that MAX has a few features, but you may be limited in the types of signals, you can simulate.

For my sim screw, I make a copy of the original VI with ".sim" added file name.  I also change the icon in a characteristic way to identify the version of the sim card on the BD. In this way the two VI have the same connector pane and are interchangeable on the BD structure. disable the diagram can be your friend here. Inside of the VI of sim, I generate the signal in any form I want.  You can also add additional if necessary controls.

  • zedboard Xilinx Zync 7000 interface using labview

    Hello

I'm doing my thesis in Zedboard for the development of a test for DDR3 memory and verification. For this I need to set up a base of dedicated on NI Measurement Studio LabVIEW graphical user Interface.

Theme: Algorithmic Szudy of test set-up for DDR3 SDRAM with a Xilinx architecting.

Here, I made my algorithm Xilinx SDK. But I need to create a graphical interface using labview. To run these programs. Please let me know how I can do this.

1 or is it possible to directly access the SoC architecting using Labview. If yes how?

    2. or if I have to do the coding of Xilinx SDK and how do I run this code using Labview?

Please give me a detailed answer. As I am new to labview. I m not understanding how to start with. If you have any design example please share with me.

    Thank you best regards &,.

    Nithin Ponnarasseri

No you can not grow directly in LabVIEW and deploy this program to the Board of Directors Zync. NOR has their own material base platform Zync (cRIO and myRIO) but the tools to target these tips are specific to the hardware implementation OR and will not work with other hardware. Develop an interface for another hardware platform is a lot of work and must be adapted for each unique flavor to a new hardware platform. And NEITHER does not support this for other devices.

If your option will be to develop an application with the SDK Zync for Zync ARM controller and provide a form of communication interface (serial port, TCP/IP, or similar) to this application you can send commands to LabVIEW for your embedded application.

  • Control CMD (command line interface) using Labview 2011.

    Hello

I'm trying to control software that has an interface to command line using LabView 2011 but I have problems when reading the information.

Is attached the VI I created so far, but it is not working properly.

    Problems so far:

1 - if I use ReadLine(), it blocks showing no error and nothing else.

2 - ReadToEnd () same problem as the previous line, the software hangs just at this stage.

3 - if I compare the response of the "peek" in waiting for the - 1 indicating there is not more character, the hook of software as the previous steps.

You have some clues as to what might be wrong or another way to 'control' the CMD to send messages, read and send messages, etc...

Thank you very much for your help.

I've done it before - I posted about this on the forum here: https://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/How-to-open-close-and-monitor-a-application-xyz-exe-using/m-p/32511...

I did also wrap in a library at a given time and post it on the forums, but I couldn't find this particular post.

  • Interfacing Ensenso SDK using labview

I am trying to Ensenso SDK interface using labview. The company provides a .net dll, however, all available functions are not accessible from labview. They also said that labview is not yet officially support for interface with the Ensenso SDK. But C, C++ are officially supported. Now my question is, is it possible to write code c or c++ to control the Ensenso SDK and then access the C or C++ works using labview? If so can you help me how can I do? Thank you very much for your support.

    With sincere friendships.

    Sewyew

If you can not get the .NET DLL to work with LabVIEW (for example the use of the call library function node), you could create a C/C++ DLL wrapper that allows you to access the functions you need. I don't know too much about the details, but it is certainly possible.

    Hey guys,.

So my goal is to create an output voltage of my USB 6008 OR which can be set from 1 - 5V in Labview. (This output goes to a mass flow controller that varies its pressure based on an entry 1 - 5V) I'm using Labview 8.6 and far I used the DAQ to create analog output of fishing, but I can't figure out how to get a right voltage DC output. Is this possible? Also to measure the output so I connect the cable on the + and - or the + and gnd? Please help me!
