to know the amount of free space in a tablespace

Hello

I'm learning to oracle 9i release 9.2.0.1.0. I had created a tablespace 'TOOLS' to use the default tablespace for Statspack.
I would like to know the amount of free space available in this table space. To do this, I ran the following query, but there was no selected lines:-

SQL > select tablespace_name, bytes from dba_free_space
2 where nom_tablespace = 'TOOLS. '

no selected line

SQL > select name from v$ tablespace;

NAME
------------------------------
CWMLITE
DRSYS
EXAMPLE OF
INDX
ODM
SYSTEM
TOOLS
UNDOTBS1
USERS
XDB
TEMP

Can someone say the reason for this.

Strange that the difference of 0.625 MB does not appear in free_space...
But anyway, this tablespace is good as COMPLETE.

How can I get the amount of disk space by using windows 7 Please share example using GetDiskSpace I already studied http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/9958B8E473C4EF1786256BBC0053B64F

Reading your question a little more in detail, I doubt if you are using the Win32 GetDiskFreeSpace API function (including my previous post is the solution) of the function GetDiskSpace from the Toolbox of the programmer.

With respect to the other, it works even with capacity greater than 2 GB disks, but you must use the appropriate formatting code to display the returned value. I updated my example to display the total of free space in the debug output window and added a comparison with the value of 3 GB using UInt64TypeCompareUInt box to tools programming interface.

  • How to find the largest contiguous free space in windows xp

Hi, I have two machines, one running Win7, XP running.  I know how my highest contiguous free space is great under w7, using "defrag c: - one" in a prompt "administrator-started":

    C:\Windows\System32>defrag c: - one
    Microsoft Disk Defragmenter
    Copyright (c) 2007 Microsoft Corp.

Citing analysis on OS (C :)...)

    The operation completed successfully.

    Post report of defragmentation:

    Volume information:
    Volume size = 283,40 GB
    Space free = 60.49 GB
    Fragmented space total = 0%
More large size of free space = 46,29 GB

But, by using the same command in XP does not have the same statistics (I tried 'defrag c: - a - v' for a detailed report, but it does not always give this stat.)  Anyone know how to find out what is the largest contiguous amount of free space on a XP computer?

As we know hibernation will requires c: space of more than 75% of the size of RAM. (for example drive C must have free space of more than 12 G Hibernate when a machine with 16G of RAM)

All the details about this which might give?

  • Estimate the amount of temp space an application take?

I have a query that is "SELECT * FROM Field_Name ORDER BY une_table DESC. une_table has an avg_row_len of 458 bytes and stats are updated. There are about 6 million lines in une_table.

TEMP is set at 500 MB and the request fails for lack of TEMP space. I show about 176MB TEMP is currently ongoing usage, so worst case scenario I 324 MB of free space.

So what calculation is correct for the amount of TEMP space is necessary:

    (a) avg_row_len 458 * 6 000 000 = about 3 GB of space (and DBA_SEGMENTS agrees with this rough math). That's assuming that this puts the whole line in the genre.

    (b) 6 000 000 lines * 4 bytes for a ROWID (I think they are 4 bytes) = 22 MB. That's assuming that it sorts just a bunch of pointers to rows (which is how I thought it would work).

Don't forget to add the length of the column in which the length of rowid will be sorted before you multiply. A rowid [url http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e16508/logical.htm#CNCPT89008] has four pieces, a four bytes. Also, check your plan, in case there is more that just the kind going for you.

Appropriate Sort_area_size or target of the pga, you can reduce the need for temp. Pga memory management in the docs, see [url http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e16638/memory.htm#i49320] to start.

  • Error message Microsoft Word "Word could not create the work file. Check the amount of disk space on your startup disk. »

I have a MacBook Pro, retina 13inch OS X el Capitan Version 10.11.1 with 16 GB of memory. It's brand new and I have recently installed Microsoft Word/Powerpoint etc. a disc that I bought a few years to my previous MacBook. It seems to work very well, but whenever I want to open a word document a message comes up saying "Word could not create the work file. Check the amount of disk space on your startup disk '. However, once I click 'OK' this message disappears and my word file opens without a problem. I have 16 GB of memory on this laptop and it's new I have not reached anywhere near the maximum amount of storage so I'm puzzled as to what this message means. How can I avoid that this message popping up everytime I open Microsoft Word? Any help would be appreciated!

This has nothing to do with memory - it's the SSD. Word tries to create a temporary file to use as a backup if the program crashes while you are working. First, run the Microsoft Update program to see if there are updates you have missed. Second, Microsoft currently supports only versions 2011 and 2016, so if yours is older, you should consider the upgrade. Thirdly, I suspect that the temporary file is not get created so that you have fewer cancellations (maybe any) and that if the program crashes you have to restore.

  • Is it difficult for oracle follow the news of free space in the tablespace Temp?

    DB version: 11.1

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/B28359_01/server.111/b28320/statviews_5056.htm

FREE_SPACE :      Total free space available, in bytes, including space that is currently allocated and available for reuse and space that is currently unallocated

ALLOCATED_SPACE : Total allocated space, in bytes, including space that is currently allocated and used and space that is currently allocated and available for reuse
    !!!!

I know that temporary tablespace is 'temporary' and varies according to gender, creating index... etc. But, can't they say just free space in bytes.
Lets say my temporary tablespace size is 2 GB and if the DBA_TEMP_FREE_SPACE.free_space column is 500 MB. What does that mean?

This means for a locally managed temporary tablespace, reduce the size to the amount of space currently in use; in other words, reclaim the space unallocated and allocated space is unused.

    TABLESPACE_SIZE - FREE_SPACE

See Shrinking a temporary Tablespace locally managed in the DBA Guide
    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/B28359_01/server.111/b28310/tspaces007.htm
    >
The great sorting operations performed by the database can cause a temporary tablespace more and taking a considerable amount of disk space. When the sort operation is complete, the extra space is not released; It is just marked as free and available for reuse. Therefore, a single operation of large size can result in a large amount of temporary space that remains unused, once the sort operation. For this reason, the database allows to shrink the locally managed temporary tablespaces and free up unused space.
    . . .
Shrinking frees as much space as possible while maintaining the other attributes of the tablespace or tempfile.

Personally, I would be interested to see what disk management says on the disc. Right click on my computer > choose manage. In the left pane, click "disk management". The content will grow in the right pane. Make a written note or a screen shot showing both used and free space.

  • Bootcamp is not install due to the mistake of the amount of available space

I try to install windows on my mac with bootcamp 10. But somehow when I go in the part "" Select task"he keeps popping up that I have 50 GB of free space on my boot drive to install. But I checked my mac storage, I have 50 GB available, can you guys please help me how to solve this problem? (appreciated!)

50 GB is not enough free space. After you have created the 100GB + Boot Camp partition (I think 100 GB would be minimal for Windows) you must always leave enough free space for OSX to run.

Prompt compaction is triggered whenever you close OE 100 times.  So if you compact manually, you don't get invited again until you close OE for another 100 times.  Unfortunately there is no way to change this.  Dbx files shall be compacted.  If they are not, they will move on to an enormous size, and then get corrupted, so it is important to pack on a regular basis.

    Hi all

You're not really serialization or deserialization anything. Simply read the lines of the file in your data structure and come back when you want to write again outside the disk.

  • How do I know the tab selected in spaces web center?

    Hello

I have different tabs on the main page as Abc, Def, home, etc... On each page there are SQL queries based on a variable binding. This binding variable value is given by a selectonechoice component which is present above all the tabs. Now when I change the value in the tab component selectonechoice inside components fires and display the updated data. I'm releasing components integrated into the tabs using contextual events. Everything works fine, but when I changed the value of the component of selectonechoice all events fire and all the tabs of SQL queries are run and it takes so long for data update (a big performance issue). I thought that if I know the tab selected, I trigger the contextual events in this tab. Can someone help me how do I know the tab selected in webcenter spaces. I know in adf we have disclosureListener for help that we know of the selected tab. But in Webcenter spaces the sideBarItem (who resembles showDetailItem ADF) is not disclosureListener. How to overcome this problem? Can someone help me.

    Thank you

    Ashok.

    Hello.

You can try one of the many possible solutions:

    --------------------------------------------

    (1) activation of the workflow

My suggestion is that you must configure property activation of your task flows in the pageDefinition.

When you click a tab, you need to reach in a selected tab variable and use it in an EL Expression in the activation property.
With this strategy and then the workflow will only be 'living' when the tab is opened.

Don't forget that you can change the WebCenter Pages using it is an editor in the Admin or export / import in the MDS.

    --------------------------------------------

    (2) avoiding the execution of the application during the initial rendering

You can configure your iterators used in your TF with RefreshCondition #{! adfFacesContext.initialRender} he can stop running a query for the first rendering of the page

    (3) try childCreation panelTabbed property lazyUncached

(I'm not 100% 2) or 3) may be your solution. Try them in any case and let us know the feedback.

If you get STUCK in one of the solutions, I'll try to help you.

In the meantime, I'll thing if there is nothing simpler.

    Kind regards.
