tolken Scan chain

OK I worked with LabVIEW for many years and I've never understood channels scanning for Tolkens.

Attached, this is what I expect, and what I mean.  Please put me in the Strait once and for all.

Dan

First of all, you look for the exit from the wrong place.  "String out" is a copy unmodified of the input string.

"Out token" is the answer you're looking for.

The first iteration will find your departure"as adelimiter and deliver the portion of the string up to but not including the"character.  The second time you call the function (electrical wiring through the index returned in the first round) it will give you the text between the first and second "which is exactly what you are looking for.

Shane.

PS my first preview!

    Thanks for your time.

Why do you have the square brackets around the string format string analysis? They aren't there when you generate the timestamp string if it fails when you try to convert as soon as they are supposed to be there.

  • Application is not able to connect using the Oracle SCAN chain

    Dear Oracle gurus

    We have 11g r2 11.2.0.3.0 2 cluster nodes

We have configured the scanning using scan-vip single using/etc/hosts file resolution

Our app to work correctly using the string of double local Vip (10g method)

Scan works very well in the database server when we check using sqlplus

Works very well in the database server Oracle SCAN

    Sqlplus DB - 1 test bench / testbed@my-db-scan:1521 / orcl

When we use it below URL JDBC in Tomcat Version-6 then "doesn't allow not to connect even if there will connect a while but connectivity isn't stable when we reboot the tomcat"

    Hibernate.Connection.URL=jdbc:Oracle:Thin:@My-DB-Scan:1521/ORCL

Application is not able to connect using the Oracle SCAN chain

  • Scan chain corresponds to all adjacent spaces when a sequence of scanning to match an exact string ends in a space

Recently, I wrote code to parse a string using the string function analysis.  The string contains a descriptive text as well as some of the settings I want to recover the chain.  My approach has been using a format string that match an exact string (descriptive text), that deletes or ignores the exact string and then corresponds to a parameter in the input string.  The remaining string contains more data which are analysed later.

The problem I encountered is that corresponding to an exact string doesn't seem to work as I expect if the exact string ends with a space.  In this case, the exact string is offset, and other white space characters that immediately follow the exact string.  Let me illustrate by examples (------codes are displayed).

    Case 1: input string = "Line\s1\s\s\nLine\s2".

    string format = "Line\s%d".

    remaining string = "\s\s\nLine\s2".

Note that spaces and the supply line after that '1' are moved to the remaining string in this case.

    Case 2: input string = "Line\s1\s\s\nLine\s2".

    string format = "Line\s%d\s".

    remaining string = "Line\s2".

Note that all the spaces and line power immediately after that '1' are deleted and are NOT passed to the remaining string in this case.

Behavior in case 2, it's not what I was expecting.  Can someone comment on that?  I can probably work around this problem, but would like to understand how the channel Scan function is supposed to work.  Is this a bug?

    Citing the detailed help:

A space in the format string matches any amount of white space, such as spaces, tabs, line breaks and forms RSS.

  • Scan chain with TRUE FALSE and the comma as separator

Produced cabling 'REAL FAKE' entry as '%s %s' format as false to scan string constants

the two binary values you want, corresponding to the input string.

Whereas "TRUE, FALSE" as entry and "%s, %s" format leads to an error.

I lost a lot of time to understand that the error has its origin in the incompatible separator and not in the way I use this function.

Wouldn't be possible (ask nicely) to place a note in the online help for this function, you need to use only spaces or tabs as separators
with chains binary when you use this function?

It was not clear to me why I should not use the comma as a separator.

Now, my solution is to replace all the commas with spaces before you wire the input string to scan from a string.

Is there another workaround solution or someone can provide a deeper understanding of why comma does not work?

My guess is that he was mistaken for a decimal separator and implies not being part of a binary value.

    Use ' % [^,], %s ' as your specifier.  ' % [^,] "will result in a string up to the next comma.

  • Scan chain with variable elements of number?

    Hi all

I wonder what would be a good way to parse a string containing a variable number of items to search for. I've seen comments of Roberto on the scan function that are very useful (link1, Link2).

The string type, I would be sweeping would be "5 2.6 4.7 5.01 7.1 4.03" with 5 specifying that will follow 5 double rooms, delimited by spaces.

    Thanks in advance!

Scan of the CVI function is very powerful, with many options and features, but it has some limitations.

For example, the ability to scan several parameters in a table as Roberto watch is very slippery, but I can't find a way so he can tell me how many items have been scanned.  Scan returns the number of items formatted, but apparently, it counts a table as a single item.  You can check that by checking the return value of scanning in the message of Roberto.

I tend to fall back on many of the functions of the library of ANSI-C function strtok Norbert suggested.  You need more lines of code, because you load the element of a table at a time in a loop, but you can add more checking along the way of the errors.  You could do the same thing with the sweep, playback of a parameter at the same time and then jump the NumFmtdBytes() in the next reading.  But if I do not need the additional capacity a CVI library function, I use the ANSI C function.

It's just another way of seeing things.  strtok is not clearly better than Scan() in this case, it shows just another approach.  Each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Take a look at the attached simple example.  It shows some of the audit that can be done, with examples of several types of possible errors of possible errors.

  • Scan chain

I am trying to parse a long string and the length can vary. I try to display each character. for example.

    For example.

    * 1st if they are 2 commas back to back can stop the scan.

04,05,08,10,11, * 1 in this case, I would first parse the string from left to right and display the digits before the comma, as long as there are not 2 back-to-back commas

04,05,08, * E in this case I would like to parse the string from left to right and display the digits before the comma, 04 and 05 and 08 and stop there are 2 commas back to back.

  • Channel scan does not.

    Hi all

    I am a string "a, b: c - d» A little need is to get a, b, c and d strings separately using "channel scan". I tried the format string "%s, % s: %s s. But the analysis of string does not work. string 1 = a, b: c - d; Channel 2, channel 3, Channel 4 are empty. I also have an error.

Is there any format string format should I follow for a, b, c and d correctly from scan chain.

    Kind regards

    Abd Word S

    Hi Khalifa,

If you have a single character such as 'a' and 'b' and so on, then he works with a fixed field of 1 size. Otherwise, you can work with the replacement string and splits the string with the "worksheet to function array string.

  • What is the analysis of the chain model for "fits all"?

    Hello

Using scan chain for a while, I know that %s corresponds only to chain up to white space. And I also thought % [^] matches everything, including spaces. But it turns out that it stops at the closing brace square.

So what's the real scan pattern match everything including spaces?

Want you that the Scan of chain at the end on?  Or are you typing just the rest of the chain?  If this is your scenario, then simply use the output 'remaining chain.  It might be useful to give a complete example of a normal input string and all WHAT you want as output.

  • search string and convert whole real or 8-bit 32 bit

I was hoping to get some advice on how I could search for the following string and convert it to a real number or an integer.  The following data is output as a device ascii characters and I would look for both in each line (starting with 7699,72 seconds in this case) and convert each one to a real number.  Furthermore, I would like to get the integer values in each row (0, but could be 1,2,10,12, etc.) and convert them to an 8-bit integer.  I think that using the template Match followed by analysis of chain would screw that I need, but am not sure how to match in each case. Thank you!!

What are the characters in the white space between the and the numbers?

Scan chain can probably not what you want.  Note that in the image space characters include spaces, return carriage, line breaks and tabs.

  • Converts a string to timestamp

I want to store calibration dates in a file so that they can be verified to the current date and warn the user if a part of the equipment is out of calibration.

What would be the best way to achieve this?

  • characters of VISA not in ascii

I use ARM Cortex microcontroller. I send you the numbers in the display of the laboratory via usb port.

In this case, the strings from VISA Read are not ascii, but I can convert them to unsigned int with the help of the uint premitive string.

The numbers must be sent are continuous and they consist of u8, u16 and also float values.

The problem here is the conversion. only these value that are defined as u8 appear correctly.

How to convert the appropriate values.

For example if the value is greater than 255 but whole, I should be able to read and view.

If the value is float I should be able to view the number of good float.

I also tried with scan chain premitive, also the number premitive string. They can only read ascii and convert, but the characters I'm conversion are not ascii.

Like the characters I get boxes and a value of 0, they are empty.

To convert a number in ASCII in my microcontroller might also be possible, but the requirement here is with a view to laboratory. Microcontroller currently has the huge load of programs.

I'd be happy if someone help me forge in this.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi fhs.

'300' is stored in two bytes with LSB First: 44 + 1 * 256 = 300. As mentioned previously, you can use "join the numbers' to achieve the desired result.

-'1' is perhaps stored in just one byte, but that is not clear in your photo.

'1.23' is probably stored in 4 bytes (or 8?), but is not also clear your photo...

To show more data. And switch the output string for 'view hex', before taking the 'grass '!

  • Types of data

    Hello

I'm a complete in LabView newbie, so any help would be appreciated. I built a VI to read the data from three sources and then contatenate these three data sources in a 3 column table and then save it in a file. Ideally I'd like each line data to be saved with a time stamp. I currently have problems with the data types in the VI.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Nevica,

Take a look at the Scan of String.vi.  You can click with the right button on this vi and select "Scan chain changing" to choose how you want to convert the string in.  You can use it in this way:

  • binary string to number

    Hello

I would like to convert a binary string of the form: "000011' to a numeric value (3).

I tried to use Byte Array to the string and then use the decimal number string, but I gives me 0 all the time
