  Either Ctrl / Cmd + Shift + B to display > show/hide the bounding box or I'm not afraid to have met the Rectangle Live bug that is limited to the MAC versions from 10.7 and 10.8, but not of 10.9 (Mavericks) or 10.10 (Yosemite). If all goes well, the bug will be fixed soon.

  Thus, a switch for the Mavericks or Yosemite with a reinstall might be the way to solve it here and now.

  To get around it, in each case, it is possible to develop direct Rectangles to get the normal old shaped rectangles or Pathfinder > unit, or use the scale tool or the free transform tool.

  A more permanent way round that is to create normal old shaped rectangles, after running the free script created by Pawel, see this thread with download link:

• Can't resize an object with the Selection (black arrow) tool?

  If called on an object, I am suddenly unable to resize it by dragging one of its corners with the selection tool.

  The object is not locked. The layer which is the object is not locked. I can only move the object.

• Need help using the intersect tool (Adobe Illustrator CS5)

  Currently, I'm learning to do a Fox in Adobe Illustrator CS5 a tutorial online, however the intersect tool in the area of pathfinder does not work the way I want. I have two pieces of the tail I'd like to set up to aid intersect, but it keeps cutting it incorrectly. Here's what it looks like before and after clicking on intersect:

  Someone please help and explain what I am doing wrong, the answers will be greatly appreciated. I choose the tail and the end of the tail, but when I type intersect, the tail basically everything disappears.

  There is always an effect applied to the tail. You must first expand appearance (in the menu object)

• Illustrator cs5.5 not install correctly

  My Illustrator CS5.5 has not installed correctly when I arrived three years ago and never needed it til now. Everything has been installed otherwise ok. I uninstalled then reinstalled... again, which seems ok, but when I open it it times out and I have to force quit. I moved the card in the folder away and it opened ok, so I moved plugins one-by-one backwards and it opened ok but no tool. I think I then tried to reinstall and error loading plugins came listing Art Brush tool.aipCalligraphy Brush tool.aipcolor harmony drop shadow and another8 points. I just need to be able to load and use my illustrator. Thank you

  (You can try 4) or perhaps rather 6) on the list.

  The following is a general list of things you can try when the question is not in a specific file and when it is not caused by problems with opening a file from external media, see below. You tried/made some of them already; 1 and 2) are easier for temporary strangenesses and 3) and 4) specifically preferences might be corrupt); ((5) is a list in itself and 6) is the last resort.

  If possible / there is, you must record a current work first, of course.

  (1) close Illy and open again.

  (2) restart the computer (you can make up at least 5 times);

  (3) close Illy and press Ctrl + Alt + Shift / Cmd + Option + shift during startup (easy, but irreversible);

  4) move the folder (follow the link with this name) with closed Illy (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);

  5 look through and try the relevant among the other options (click on the link with that name, item 7) is a list of the usual suspects among other applications which can disturb and confuse Illy, point 15) applies to the maybe CS5, CS6 and CC);

  Even worse, you can:

  (6) (check the box to delete the preferences), run the cleanup tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC) to uninstall and reinstall.

  Ok... I'm still trying to find a solution to low sliders/reticle etc. in the tools.

  A kind soul offered to change the display screen preferences, but did not.

  I have the creative suite CS5 and other tools in other programs excellent work.

  To add to this, in case your trash folder settings and happens again, you have right or control click on the folder of the settings in the preferences and select Get Info and search for property and permissions and you can change it there to read/write.

  But when you do this, click the icon of padlock at the bottom of the window, read the information and then enter your username and password at the bottom of the Get Info there is a gear as icon with a down arrow it will allow you to apply the change to all content in the folder read/write settings.

  To search for the folder settings

  1. quit Illustrator.
  2. go to user/username/Library/Preferences/Adobe illustrator CS5 Settings and parameters, the entire record of the trash not only the contents of the folder...
  3. launch Illustrator. Illustrator creates a new preferences file.

  Exactly as indicated by our MVP, compatibility issues hit blindly and it is not very rare that one of your apps (PS) works in this case well and I is not. Suggest you to upgrade.
