ToolTips / Infotips / bubbles / balloons

I upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7 Professional the day, it was launched, but have you noticed a really annoying feature. At almost every opportunity my pointer gives me a small ball/bubble/bubble/info-ToolTip to explain something. For example in my browser it will show the name of the tab (which is already written here) again right next to her. And on the components of overview of the elegant new taskbar get (for example) 'start a new Question or Discussion"(which of course is the name of this tab...)!

It's really annoying/frustrating... I mean what I have to say that the Start button is called "start"?

I tried a few fixes in the registry editor, but neither has a job, I'm really confused about if I'll have to live forever with these bubbles?

Hi cow_foot,

This feature is available in all versions of Windows by design. Given that the target audience is from the beginner to the expert level, in order to make it more user-friendly for beginners, we have this feature available in Windows.

Hope the helps of information. Please post back and we do know.

  • Balloon tooltip

I downloaded a ToolTip of the ball and tried to install it.  I think the problem I encounter is that I have not referenced the following files:

    bubble - tooltip.css

    bubble - tooltip.js

    resizing_background.js

I'm not quite sure how to proceed.  Can someone help guide me through this?

When you scroll over things to chance the ball should appear.

Look - you have several problems with this page.

    1. You use an mp3 file to your Chopin.  It's a bad idea because it requires QuickTime for playback.  Windows users are often left in the cold by the present.  You would have to migrate this MP3 in a Flash file to get wider acceptance as possible, and that the migration should be easy if you have Flash.  If you have not I don't know that there are public domain programs that can do it for you.
    2. When loading, the page often shows me a badly located ToolTip that contains the word "undefined."  It's because you call the showToolTip function in the body tag onload.  Remove this call.  It must be called in the passage of the mouse.
    3. I see the ToolTip content entirely in IE8/FF3x under Safari/FF3x on Mac and Windows.
  • How can I get rid of a maddening Wikipedia balloon that appears with a dictionary for a word at random, definition he chooses? Thank you!

I do not know if yes or no cursor active this problem as it happens to pass on a word that wikipedia is programmed to meet w / this definition ball - it happens too fast that I track back and understand what I could have done that triggers its appearance. Seems random. No X to close the balloon. Sometimes clicking the cursor outside the ToolTip closes If OFF... sometimes I can't get rid of it. Random events of ball, but enough to be annoying. NOTE! Earlier in hilighting "Troubleshooting info" on the Help menu, a balloon appeared w / 4 icons: google, search Wikipedia, duckduckgo search and search for surf canyon. This ball appeared when the cursor is passed over informed salvation text... it is like the Wikipedia dictionary definitions I get when I read the text online! Connected?

Check your list of Add-ons, you have one called FastestFox, which seems to be the cause of your problem.

One thing you can do is to create a button and its value icon what is layout you want and control the visibility of the button in the events of mouse input/output, either using JavaScript or show/hide the actions field. It seems that is what you did, but you also need to set the tab order so that the button (or a text field) is after the fields that appear through. (Aka stacking order) order for the fields is identical to the tab order.

  • Effects of the bubble

How do you send balloons with the effect of bubble in iMessage?

You ask about doing it on the MacBook Air? If not, and referring to the iPhone, check this page in the iPhone user Guide. http://help.Apple.com/iPhone/10/#/iph3d4cb79c9

If you're talking about the MacBook, I don't know if this is a feature for iMessage on the computer. But then, I'm not a Mac user and could not be sure of that.

  • the ToolTip that fleet upward when you hover over a link with a mouse works erratically if said the link is in the lower left corner of web page

So the title says pretty much everything that, but I would stay again.

There is a small balloon that floats to the top in the lower left corner of the browser window when you hover over a link on a page with a mouse. The address of the link leads, indicates in the ToolTip.
However, if the link in question is in the lower left corner of the Web page, the ToolTip floats high above right. Then he disappears to reappear a few milliseconds later. This blinking persists; You can neither do address or click on the link. By pressing several times shows RMB RMB menu for the link, which finally allows you to copy the link location and paste it into the address bar.

Try disabling the Redirect Remover extension if you have. Disabling this extension worked for me which allows the address bar that appears at the bottom left when you move to a link to the right in certain situations.

  • Is there a way to remove the ToolTip that contains the name of the application when the cursor over the icon in the dock?

Since the upgrade to El Capitan, I noticed that the name of each application in the dock appears above the docking station in a bubble of large text when the cursor is everywhere down in the dock next to this icon of the application.  It's annoying because if I'm often pass between two or several applications, I don't want to have to keep moving the slider to the top of the screen to get the text balloons to disappear.  When the application names are present, they cover part of the screen of the app that I work.  Not sure if I remember correctly, but I thought that those who went after a period of time in older versions of OS.  I was never bothered by it as I am with El Capitan.

    Thank you all.

Not that I am aware, no.  There is nothing in the system preferences-> Dock that allows you to disable or remove this function.

  • How to disable ToolTips in the TestStand sequence editor

    Hello

is there a way to disable these bubbles villain in the TestStand sequence editor.

For example, when I want to spend a FileGlobal which is a string that contains a number and step requires the numerical value, I need to use Val (FileGlobals.NumberString) and answers

as soon as I write ' Val ("a ToolTip appears and tells me what I can do. But so far, not the worst problem in the development process it may happen, that I have to change the FileGlobal

and that's the point, when ToolTips turn evil.

I'm starting to fix the names of the variables in the steps and each time this nasty giant bubble. It is not only unnecessary, but also incredibly annoying at the moment.

I really hope that there is a parameter that could help me or that developer NOR esteem team to add the posibility to disable these tooltips.

PS: maybe not completely necessary to disable ToolTips, but perhaps to make their tiny and if the programmer is really interested in the content that could be extended by a click.

    I use TestStand 2013 and TestStand 2011.

I think what you describe is the function "Tip." You can stop these appear automatically.

The setting is located in the Station Options > Preferences > Expression editing Options

My screenshots are from 2014, but it's the same on 2013. Not sure about 2011.

  • bug in ToolTips

I'm really sorry, but I have another problem with ToolTips...

I'll show two samples, codes more result, in the first case, all right, in the second, the balloon trying to be clever and fails miserably: he inserts line breaks without asking and he cuts/fails/swallows text, see below. I checked the tank string using the view variable, the text has been formatted correctly and is finished. Unfortunately, it is not completely.

Indeed, the only difference between the two cases is that (1) there is a long line, path name, which prevents the word "automatic" scarf, undocumented / line break. I have no explanation why part of the text is omitted, may be that there is a default aspect ratio or a maximum of lines? Too bad...

    Hi Wolfgang,.

I was easily able to reproduce the bug (#421593). The problem seems to be related to the tabs. If you replace them with spaces the problem disappears. Of course, this may not be the easiest thing to do, when you use a non-monospaced font in the world. But until there is a difficulty, perhaps this is your only option.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

Windows xp sp3 - I want to stop ToolTips. I changed the registry, as explained in microsoft Advisory #307729.  I also used the automatic fix of Mr. Fixit from microsoft in the same notice.  In both cases, the registry switch is past from 1 to 0.  After the reboot, the switch changes to 1 and the balloons are there.  Apparently, something overrides change.  Any ideas?
