Windows Update failed: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT? What is my Windows Media Player?

Error message reads as follows: Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because it is not possible to activate the analog copy on the output display protection. Try to install an update for your video card.

NVIDIA is not my video card? And why it will fail to update?

Here's how to upgrade your graphics card:

You must be logged on as administrator to perform these steps.
(1) open the Manager of devices by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
(2) in the Device Manager, find your graphics under "graphics cards", and then double-click the name.
3) click on the driver tab, and then click set to update driver.
The graphics card will now be updated.
I hope this helps.

  • Update NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT for MacPro

    Good afternoon!

I'm looking to upgrade my video card. Right now I have:

    Mac Pro

    El Capitan 10.11.5 OSX

    2 x 2.8 GHz Quad - Core Intel Xeon

    32 GB 667 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM

ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 256 MB

Becomes the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT for Mac a better choice?

Based on the linked web page below, in my view, the 8800gt would be a decent upgrade.

  • NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 512 MB graphics card is disabled

    Hi people

    I have a Vista Ultimate 64-bit with SP2 PC.

Recently, I lost all the videos on the PC, so suspect that it may have been overheating I opened the PC and clean up all the dust and lubricated fans.

This resulted in the PC work again, except that I got the following error message:

"at least a card on the system has been disabled because its driver is not compatible with the vga card driver"

I then ran the MSI utility & driver CD and downloaded and installed the drivers from nVIDIA VGA and it seemed to install OK, except that the same message has popped up.

I had a look in Device Manager and two NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 512 MB graphics cards are always disabled.

Looking at the properties for two graphics cards (status of the device - general tab) the following message appears:

    "

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

Click on 'Search for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available. »

I clicked on the check for solutions..., but I don't have all the answers.

So, if anyone has any ideas on this problem, I would really appreciate it.

    Kind regards

    Ross

  • HP Compaq DC7800 small form Fa: Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB vs. HP Compaq DC7800 Small Form Factor

    Hello

I'm not too familiar with the hardware upgrades, so I wonder if a Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB would be compatible with my HP Compaq DC7800 Small Form Factor?

    Thanks for any help!

    Hello:

Here is the link to the plug for the GeForce 8800GT...

    http://www.GeForce.com/hardware/desktop-GPUs/GeForce-8800-GT/specifications

Certainly, this card will not work in your machine for two reasons.

    1. he needs a power outlet extra that doesn't have food dc7800.

    2. the draw of the power of the card (105W), is too much for the PCIe x 16 slot 25W prorated and 240W power your PC.

These PCs is designed for light desktop for administration.

If you want to add a video card, it must be a down a profile that comes with low profile brackets in the area.

I recommend the AMD HD 6450 or Nvidia GT-610 low profile cards that will work within the limits of the power supply of your PC has.

I try to use my OverDrive and I have this same problem of 'a problem has occurred in the DRM component. I looked at previous answers for them and I have renamed my DRM folder to DRMbackup, changed my proxy on Windows media player settings, troubleshooted the patch use windows media he asked (including reinstall them WMP), cleared my cookies in IE and firefox, and the update button is unclickable. I've also been running IE as an administrator. This is ridiculous. • Windows media player - "you need to update DirectX version 8.1 or higher" when you try to convert WMA files to MP3 with Jodix files

My nephew has recently tried to convert wma into mp3 files so I could put on my mp3 player. He used Jodix and everything seems to be going as planned until we try to get the songs from Windows Media Player. A message: you need to update DirectX version 8.1 or higher. Well, I tried to download from Windows and got a message saying that I already have the latest version of DirectX. So back to Jodix and found another message that says: I may need to update Windows Media Player to version 7.1 or later version. Only, I don't know what version I have (sorry, I can't find the information). And I don't even know what to do if I found the info. Really, I just want to make my purchases from Wal-Mart (purchased several years as wma) to play on my mp3 player. Can someone help me? I would like your advice. Thank you!

    Hello Ann,.

Check to see if the following is useful.

Step 1: Check the version of DirectX that is installed on the computer.

How to determine the Version of DirectX using the DirectX Diagnostic tool

Step 2: To determine the version of Media Player installed on the computer, you can do the following.

    a. open Windows Media Player.

    b. click on help in the menu bar, and then click.

    c. If the menu help is not displayed, press ALT + H and then click on to words.

Step 3: You can upgrade to the latest version of the player. Download the same from the Microsoft Download Center.

  • Impossible to update of Windows Media Player and Microsoft Security Essentials and the error is "access denied error 80070005."

Apparently an involuntary change of administrative privileges or permissions (Windows XP Pro, SP3) keeps me updated Media Player version 9 to 11 v. and updated virus Security Essentials definitions.
For Media Player, wmsetup.log reports access denied error 80070005 and UpdSpAPI.log reports access denied for the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Settings\MP3Encoding\LowRate registry key. In regedt32, I'm blocked from display HKLM\...\MediaPlayer\Settings and below, and "are allowed to view the current permission settings, but... can make a change." Except that I can't. I can enter the change but get «...» Access is denied"trying to apply them. So this is the first problem that I need help.
But of course it's more than a registry key and the subkeys, because MSE too is affected and will download but not install virus definitions. WindowsUpdate.log reports: failed to install with error 80070643.
My user account (it's the only one!) is part of the Administrators group and all that I tried to verify administrative permissions is positive. This is a new issue. No virus/malware, according to MSE, Lavasoft Ad-Aware, MalWarebytes Anti-Malware.
