  I have a Vista Ultimate 64-bit with SP2 PC.

  Recently, I lost all the videos on the PC, so suspect that it may have been overheating I opened the PC and clean up all the dust and lubricated fans.

  This resulted in the PC work again, except that I got the following error message:

  "at least a card on the system has been disabled because its driver is not compatible with the vga card driver"

  I then ran the MSI utility & driver CD and downloaded and installed the drivers from nVIDIA VGA and it seemed to install OK, except that the same message has popped up.

  I had a look in Device Manager and two NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 512 MB graphics cards are always disabled.

  Looking at the properties for two graphics cards (status of the device - general tab) the following message appears:

  "

  Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

  Click on 'Search for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available. »

  I clicked on the check for solutions..., but I don't have all the answers.

  So, if anyone has any ideas on this problem, I would really appreciate it.

  Certainly, this card will not work in your machine for two reasons.

  1. he needs a power outlet extra that doesn't have food dc7800.

  2. the draw of the power of the card (105W), is too much for the PCIe x 16 slot 25W prorated and 240W power your PC.

  Help! Last year, Internet Explore kept closing (Data Execution Prevention) so I switched to Firefox, which is great, but since then Windows media Player will not work. Moved this year on the campus of the University and since then (using the University proxy server) install windows updates is no longer. It's a new laptop me issued by the University last year, is come pre-programmed with Vista and Office, Media Direct and other programs, most of which I didn't use.  Technical support here at uni cant/wont help... can you?

  The system update tool

  Take note of the results of the System File Checker.  Then after you run the two, run Windows Update.

  You are able to update of AVG?
  Any other antivirus (i.e. Norton, McAfee, etc.) has already been installed on this computer?
  When you say 'Nothing' that you tried to install?
  If you disable AVG and then run Windows Update you get a different outcome\error?

• DRM component problem, can't update Windows Media Player security

  I try to use my OverDrive and I have this same problem of 'a problem has occurred in the DRM component. Contact microsoft support"with the button unclickable on the link I see that many others have had. I looked at previous answers for them and I have renamed my DRM folder to DRMbackup, changed my proxy on Windows media player settings, troubleshooted the patch use windows media he asked (including reinstall them WMP), cleared my cookies in IE and firefox, and the update button is unclickable. I've also been running IE as an administrator. This is ridiculous. I just click the button to update my DRM and get on with it (I'm not worried about the previously protected songs) what else can I try not to mention that from another computer? I've been troubleshooting for more than 3 hours!

  I m using windows 7 Prof & works smoothly except windows media player which was not installed because I install windows so I install wm player but not installed not worked successfully.

  I update my windows recently, but still no update wmp & if I install wmp12 on Microsoft site auto update fm that he shows you that you have already installed WMP or you have the latest version installed... so I tried to uninstall wmp but did not uninstall in Control Panel programs list.

  So I delete the files program & option... regedit registry always I update of Web site same msg poster "you have already installed Windows Media Player.

  What should I do then?

  1. close all programs.
  2. click on the Start button and then click Control Panel.
  3. under programs, click on uninstall a program.
  4. in the pane tasks, click on turn Windows features on or off.
  5. in the windows features list, click the plus sign next to multimedia functions.
  6. under multimedia functions clear the check box next to Windows Media Player.
  7. you receive a warning message in a pop-up window. Click Yes.
  8. now restart the computer and then go to Windows features turn on or off features. Place a check for Windows Media Player. You receive a warning message in a pop-up window. Click Yes.
  9. restart your computer.

  My nephew has recently tried to convert wma into mp3 files so I could put on my mp3 player. So back to Jodix and found another message that says: I may need to update Windows Media Player to version 7.1 or later version.   But of course it's more than a registry key and the subkeys, because MSE too is affected and will download but not install virus definitions. WindowsUpdate.log reports: failed to install with error 80070643.
  My user account (it's the only one!) is part of the Administrators group and all that I tried to verify administrative permissions is positive. This is a new issue. No virus/malware, according to MSE, Lavasoft Ad-Aware, MalWarebytes Anti-Malware.
