Topic: Home don't search google

My problem lies in the subject: homepage.

When I click on home, he goes to the firefox start page. I can't find something there.

When I type something in and press "Search" (blue button), it does nothing. If I use the address bar or the search beside it, it works, but it won't work on the subject: House.

Any suggestions? I added information from troubleshooting as well using the plugin

None of the people helped, because I've tried them all.

To resolve this problem, I downloaded a program "ADWCleaner" which can be found here: http://download.cnet.com/AdwCleaner/3000-7786_4-75851221.html

To use: click on the search button and it will find all the toolbars etc. and remove them and all unwanted registry entries.

The PC will restart.

Then, you can use the searchreset as said above and reset everything back to normal!

  • Don't search google when a Word is written into the address bar.

Already when I typed a word or more in the address bar, it would be to do a search on google. Now when I get back a Word and press enter it takes me for a while the page with the following message to this topic:

    502 bad Gateway
    Nginx/1.3.7

To do this, search google when I type more than one word.

Yes, when there is a single word, Firefox try it with www. at the beginning and .com at the end (depending on your situation). To avoid this, disable the feature of "correction" here:

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the filter box, type or paste the Correction and take a break while the list is filtered

    (3) double-click the browser.fixup.alternate.enabled to return false. This should take effect immediately with the following search, and you can close this tab.

  • Huge topics (URL links) appearing in Google search results

Since about a week or two ago (URL links) topics that appear in the Google search results I was huge.
I don't think this inconvenience comes from Google, because it does not happen with Internet Explorer 8. Furthermore, I believe that Google would not leave this question open for so long. In addition, it is less obvious when Firefox opens Yahoo. In short, it is a matter of "Firefox with Google".

    I run Firefox 27.0.1

    Thank you.

It's a good idea to test things in safe mode, but please be aware that not every change of setting will be reset in safe mode. So, reset can still solve the problem. Another thing you can try removes cookies (especially those estate of google), and the zoom reset, something could have with that before. Here's how to reset the zoom level: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/font-size-and-zoom-increase-size-of-web-pages

  • R - click menu "search Google for" [text]

My FF (13.0.1) intermittently offers via the click menu option right for "search Google for ' some text that I chose.

AFAICT there is no rhyme/reason when it is and isn't, and I want to do it every time.

I don't think I could be the only one, but maybe my research OS is not what it was.

    Thank you!

Can you give an example of a situation where it does not appear, and text is selected?

It does work in a text box or the entry form.

  • Search Google in Safari is slow

I'm running Safari 9.0.3 with El Capitan 10.11.3 on a new Macbook Pro retina 15 "and have a hard time looking for the Safari address bar. Probably 50 to 75% of the time when I type something in the search bar to search Google, search hangs for a very long time, or just expires. At first I thought that this could be a problem with my home network, but it happens when I travel as well. Going on google and the search are faster, but often Safari crashes after I typed 'google.com '.

I tried several fixes without result:

-change the search engine in Safari preferences

    -Disable all my extensions

    -Disable all my plugins

-Disabling the "Include search engine Suggestions."

-affecting my DNS DNS OpenDNS & Google

    -disable the DNS prefetching

    -deletion of my story

    -suppression of the ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db

    -suppression of the ~/Library/Caches/Metadata/Safari

-removal of the preferences of Safari

If anyone knows something else that might work, I would be very grateful, so far my efforts seem to be worse

Please start in recovery mode. In the OS X Utilities screen, select get online help. It will launch a clean copy of Safari. Some plugins, such as Flash, will be available. While in recovery, you do not have access to your saved bookmarks or passwords, so take note of those who before, if they are required for the test.

Test. After testing, restart as usual and display the results.

When I launch Firefox normally it goes right to my Google page, but recently when I run Firefox I get a message indicating that Google.com is a unreliable site. I get this message for all engines of search, Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc. How can I solve this problem?

You run Kaspersky, correct? If you use the SSL scanning feature, Firefox must be put in place to approve the present Kaspersky false certificate to decrypt your secure connections. If you used the discount during the last update function - for example, Firefox says it's a bad performance and offers to restore some default settings - you have to do it again the installer of Kaspersky/Firefox.

  • The keys menu, home, back and search does not turn on

So last night I was getting to know my phone, I noticed that the menu, home, back and search keys were not light and I had trouble finding the right key in a low light situation. Also had the same problem while in the media that I have at my bedside when I use my phone as my alarm clock to dock. Everyone is having these problems? Today when I got to work I noticed the flash on intermitantly so I know they work, but how do I get it so that they are always on? Any ideas?

They are based on the light sensor... I cover the small hole in the top of my phone to the right of the speaker, they come out, they go out.

  • Search Google Maps open text form field

I would like to a user to enter an address in a field of text and then click a button on the same form which will open a google maps search that automatically uses this text field for the search value.  I tried to use "Open a Web link" in the action of the button by using the URL "http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q & hl = in & q = this.getfield("address 1") .value' but who obviously search google maps for"this.getfield("address_1").value"."  Hehe.  Is it possible?

    Thank you

Try to use the app.launchURL method, for example:

    var report = "http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=" + getField("address_1").valueAsString;

    app.launchURL ({cURL: report, bNewFrame: true});

You'll probably want to validate the address first, but you should get the idea.

  • How can I get rid of the google search bar? I don't want google

My browser is set to duckduckgo.com , as is the search bar on the top left.

When a new tab is opened, there will be a google search bar in the middle of the page. I want to go Google.

Is there a way to get rid of him. I don't want anything to do with Google.

Can you give me instructions on how to get rid of it. I found the google.com/firefox and thought I might be able to remove it from this way, but it will remove Firefox altogether?

    Let me know please.

    Beverly

Here's how you can reset which appear in a new tab. If this setting does not stick, one of your modules could be replacing it.

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search box that appears above the list, type or paste newtab and make a break while the list is filtered

    (3) double-click the preference browser.newtab.url and enter the desired value:

    • (Default) page thumbnails = > subject: newtab
    • Blank tab = > subject: empty
    • Built-in Firefox homepage = > topic: welcome
    • Any other page = > full URL of the page

Press Ctrl + t to open a new tab and check that it worked. Fixed?

The problem seems to be that you could not initialize correctly the file chromeappsstore.sqlite.

Removal of the chromeappsstore.sqlite and the browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone pref reset and restart Firefox should solve this problem, but in you case even a manual edition does not.

  • topic: Home Search button seems to have no function

When I open my Firefox browser, I ask on the subject: homepage. There is the Logo of Firefox, and below that is a box of text entry with a button with the label "Search" on this subject. Under the present is a divider page with no function like and below that is the button 'Restore previous Session' (which is apparently the only thing on this page that works for me).

When I type the search parameters in the search bar on this page and click on the search button, nothing happens. As if there is no function assigned to the button. This is more an inconvenience than a problem considering that I can search from the address bar and the search bar, but I'd rather have this problem.

Reset the pref browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone through the context menu by default on the subject: config page and close and restart Firefox to restore the on: default home page.

    • Open the topic: config page through the address bar
    • Type in the filter bar: mstone
    • Right-click on the browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone line, and then select: Reset
    • Close and restart Firefox

If this does not help, then delete the button Delete the chromeappsstore.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder and repeat the above.
