    Hello together,

I have a problem with my Satellite L300-22R model PSLB8E-0QL028GR (Ubuntu 8.10) and the fan control. At first the fan does not work. After a few minutes, the fan operates at 100% until the laptop is turned off. I think it's a problem with acpi.

The BIOSis: InsydeH20, worm. 1.60. There is not a more recent.

    Thank you for your support.

You have a problem with the fan?

I put t know what OS you use, but you can change the method of cooling with Toshiba Power Saver. On both my Toshiba notebook, I use this tool and I like it.

  • Satellite A350 - BIOS should offer the FAN control

    Hello
    I A350 - 110.

I think BIOS should also offer FAN control. Perhaps some programmers from Toshiba will read this post and do something with it. Fan should work all the time but with a smaller than speed from time to time at almost full speed.

The BIOS does not provide such function, but you can change some settings in Vista Power such Mangment suggested by Luke!

But Toshiba created a * TOSHIBA Power Saver. There is an option * TOSHIBA Power Saver Settings-> cooling method *.

+ This option specifies a method of cooling CPU for maximum performance CPU is better battery life with reduced CPU performance. If the CPU fan noise seems too strong, a setting that maximizes the battery life is causing the CPU fan running less often. +

  • Need help with my Toshiba remote control and receiver for Qosmio G30 161

    Hi all

I have a Toshiba Qosmio G30-161 and with her, I have a Toshiba remote and a Toshiba remote control receiver, this is the first time that I used it (tried of that is), my problem is that the remote control does not work on the computer, when I press keys on the computer program does nothing.

I installed four new AA batteries and the remote works fine its send signals to the receiver, the receiver of the remote control as a red light detection is displayed whenever you press a button and with regard to the computer, I checked the drivers and the USB is off the hook as a remote E-reception receiver which I checked with Toshiba and which is correct , so overall the remote control works, the receiver is picking up signals and the pc has detected the receiver but nothing works, I have installed remote control manager but was still nothing done to. I talked about support and assistance of Toshiba, and the end result is that they are not sure what is the problem. Can anyone help I need the remote control for the slide shows for clients like ja? m a photographer.

Also to confirm that I'm under addition of Windows XP MCE.

    Hello

This remote will work, if you use it without any special drivers and special software, only in the Media Center.

But if you install stuff like [WinLirc | winlirc.sourceforge .net] then you should be able to get some functions for your presentation.

Please try this tool and check if it works.

By the way: if I were you I would first read the manual and the WinLirc FAQ before you start because it s a little bit tricky to manage the program. :) (Too many parameters: D)

    Welcome them

  • Fan control with 5750G and other machines problems

Lets start with stating that the 5750 G (and other models with same design cases) has lots of GPU and overheating problems:

As well as the mysterious GPU problems:

This problem is happing on computers between 12 and 20 old frames. Although the user

    • Using a fresh install of windows.
    • Uses the latest GPU driver.
    • Use the BIOS more recent (1.21 for my 5750G).
    • A cleaned the dust from heatsink and fan.

So that's the problem! Thermal and non-functioning fan control past!

    So it goes like this:

End of one your PC starts to slow down: This is because the heat past at low price, acer puts on their laptop begins to degrade. This means that even if the fan trying to cool the CPU and the GPU. The heat generated by the CPU and the GPU may be transferred on the radiator. Thus the CPU and the GPU lower their performance so that the computer does not so hot that it cannot work. And damage the CPU and the GPU.

After a bit more time the PC begins to close when you use more intense programs / games:
This is because that which has degraded the heat past so that the computer becomes so hot than its cutting himself to avoid damaging himself.

So what's the problem?: I mean that acer can not simply replace past heat each contact? So what can they DO?

Here's what Acer should do: Do a BIOS 1.22 WITH CUSTOM FAN CONTROL!
It would be easy! While the main problem is the thermal past. There is another problem:

Fan will not go 100%: when my 5750 hits 95 degrees Celsius. It is still running the fan speed of ~ 60-70%!
When it hit 103 degrees Celsius. Just 2 degrees, far from extinguished to prevent critical damage. She is STILL going to ~ 60-70%! Acer... I know that the fan can be turned to a higher speed. Because when I turn on my 5750G after he himself has just cut off due to overheating. He rotates extremely fast fan! But just for a few seconds. Then he goes back to the being to slow to cool enough.

Acer... Why not do that? ! : Come on Acer! Do it! Make a new BIOS, I would be happy. And I know that Acer is not a * beep * ty company. But actually listens to their customers! If your worried that some people would go in the BIOS and the fan settings so that they broke the laptop. Then just have a big WARNING: "Guarantee will be woid entering this option" or a "to activate this option go to Acer.com/XXXX and type the code. Follow-up of the caveat "the guarantee will be void.

Please Acer. Give people who know what they make of the option to do so!

Im going to this ends with a quote from another post on your forum:

«I look a little, but have not found anything to give a bit more power the fan...»
Acer could not just add a few adjustments of fan to the bios?

    Quote this post: http://community.acer.com/t5/Acer-Notebooks-Netbooks/Entire-CPU-Overheating/m-p/12211/highlight/fals...

    Hello

Today I can finally post what you are waiting for. The fan controller tool was developed in a public place.
Anyone who decides to install this tool, please take note once more:

    • Acer does not support this tool on systems from laptops Aspire 5750 G / 5755G.

    • Acer does not support this tool on Acer OEM Software (your laptop comes with Windows 7 installation).

    • Users with other portable model should not use this tool. This will be entirely at your own risk.

    • Other OS can run this tool, but Acer does not test or review it. Acer is not responsible for any bad consequences when using the tool in that mentioned other environments.

Official statements made, here are the goodies. Be sure to download the PDF file as well, if you want to check the installation process:
    FTP://ftp2.Acer-euro.com/notebook/aspire_5750G/fan/FanController_V1.0.0.3.zip
    FTP://ftp2.Acer-euro.com/notebook/aspire_5750G/fan/SOP_AS5750G_Fan_Control_Utility.PDF

Feel free to have a discussion open after this post on the results. I tell you what I'll be less frequent in this topic, though.

Anyone who still has problems when running this tool is advised to contact Acer support and get their laptop repaired.

We thank all for your patience, hope that this helps out you.

    Kind regards

    Rolf

  • dv6z needs fan control

    Model: HP Pavilion dv6z-3000 CTO

    Product no.: WG457AV

    Age: years 3ish

So far measures: computer laptop cooling pad w / cleaned ventilation fan, Arctic Silver thermal paste, CPU undervolted

    Environment: 90F

Problem: Overheating in about 20-30 minutes, drive hard cruises over the maximum temperature of operation posted by HP (35 ° C) and is close to its maximum temperature of use posted by its manufacturer (60 c).

The fan is not in its fastest mode with the CPU at 80 c / 70 c. I guess it saves it for 90 C +, but it's never there. The body is too hot to the touch (100F +), and I wouldn't hope children if she was used as a portable computer.

    Things I know:

    • CoolSense 2.0/2.1 + HP + current HP Support Assistant software framework lead the generic 'there is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the Setup did not finish as expected. Contact your personal provider or support package ".
    • The software frame HP + HP Support Assistant v4/v5 listed for my laptop do not have included CoolSense block.
    • SpeedFan and CPUCool cannot control the fan.
    • The BIOS "fan always on" is lit. If the asset is cooling setting in Windows Power Plan.
    • I tried to evaluate the DSDT table, but it seems to be formulated differently than the examples online and I can't find the speed of the fan.
    • When I updated the BIOS to the latest version, the fan at full speed for the installation, so it can be controlled by the software.
    • Without fan control the laptop is useless, because it fails at a random time. I can't perform long simulations or work effectively with him check every 30 minutes then cool for 10.

Give me something useful! I posted a few days ago and I got that ' when you bought it, was pre-installed CoolSense? Hell if I know, it was 3 + years ago!

I need a solution, he performs admirably in a temperature-controlled room! Why let a software controllable fan me to buy a new computer for 2 months, it must perform in 90F weather?

Since there has been no useful tips, I had to buy a new computer.

    Therefore, it is a Lenovo.

It works, so more for her. You win that day, China.

  • Trouble installing the smc fan control

    Hey,.

If I own a 13 "macbook pro, early 2015. I thought to download the abnormally hot application of smc as my macbook seemed to fan control placed on my lap, as I was sitting on my bed. I went online and read many recommendations for the smc fan control. However, when I downloaded it, the MacUpdate Installer was having trouble installing it. It shows that it is 100% installed in vehicles, but I can't leave the MacUpdate window as she just will not complete the installation even if it shows a 100%. I tried to restart my macbook, but the installation window would not let me restart my mac either. I can't even leave the installer as it continues to display the installation process is not yet complete.

Below is a photo of the installation window that has been frozen, like this, for the last hour.

    Thank you in advance.

Force quit the window. Do it through if necessary activity monitor.

Then download the here SMC fan control:

    https://github.com/hholtmann/smcFanControl

There is no reason to go to MacUpdate because he downloader can cause problem.

I use Mac Fan Control, which I get from the developer

I suspect that the NVIDIA graphics are enabled if external monitors are connected. And this causes the fans to speed up. The parameter "balanced" for fans in AC mode and set the BIOS already tried the the fan control to the "quiet" using the lenovo in Windows 10 configuration tool. But none of these permits.

  • "Windows cannot display the control volume on the taskbar because the Volume control program has not been installed. To install it use Add/Remove programs in Control Panel. »

    missing volume control

volume control was gone. I tried to go into my control panel to use it, but I get an error that says:

"Windows cannot display the control volume on the taskbar because the Volume control program has not been installed. To install it use Add/Remove programs in Control Panel. »

I have lost my Windows XP disc in a move and can't reinstall the file to a disk, how to fix this?

When you use certain features sounds and Audio devices, you see a message like this:

Windows cannot display the control of volume on the taskbar because the Volume control program has not been installed. To install it use Add/Remove programs in Control Panel.

It seems that the c:\windows\system32\sndvol32.exe file is missing.

This may occur if your antivirus/antimalware application thinks the file is suspicious and quarantines (effectively delete) the file.  You can replace the missing file with a backup copy of the file that is in another folder on your system.

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

Assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive...

We know that XP keeps copies of critical system files in the following folder:

    c:\Windows\System32\dllcache

Using the Explorer, search for or navigate to the following folder:

    c:\Windows\System32\dllcache

Locate the sndvol32.exe file, right-click, choose copy (it copies the file to the Windows Clipboard).

If your Solution Explorer settings are not set to display file extensions, you will see only a file called 'sndvol32' which has an icon that looks like to the volume control slider (this is the file you need).

If the file is missing in the dllcache folder, look for a copy of the file in this folder:

    c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386

Browsing from a level in the following folder:

    c:\Windows\System32

Right-click on an empty area in the window of c:\windows\system32 and choose Paste to paste in the missing file where it belongs.

Answered in the affirmative if invited to replace the existing file.

Now try your features sounds and Audio devices.

Note that run sfc/scannow will not replace the missing file because it is not this that sfc/scannow does.

  • Windows XP volume icon is missing "volume control program has not been system."

I can't activate the Volume icon by doing this it says in part: "volume control program has not been installed.    There is no way to install programs to add and I don't have a XP installation CD.  Apparently the following file is missing: Sndvol32.exe

How can I "fix" this problem without a Windows XP installation CD?

    Thank you!
