Toshiba Gigashot GSC - K40HE HD - playback of MP4 files

Need help please.

I have a Toshiba Gigashot GSC-K40HE HD camera and have bought an Iomega screenplay Plus HD Media Player, essentially a hard disk of 1 TB with the ability to play MP4 files that the GSC-K40HE produced through the HDMI cable to my TV. (http://www.iomega.com/support/manuals/hdd2009/scrnplyplus/en/main.html)

The files have been tranfered successfully at the scenario of Media Player, checked through my cell phone, MP4 files will open correctly.

However when connecting the screenplay Plus HD Media Player to the TV with the HDMI cable, when you select MP4 files a message appears as "Unknown file" and not only will not open.

My questions are:

1. Why will not play MP4 files?
2 is there a different format they need to be saved in for them to play, if so what those
3 looking at files in camera HD of GSC-K40HE there is a simultaneous "THM" generated with the MP4 file when a video was taken, what is this and that affect playback via the screenplay multimedia drive?
4 someone know of a storage device similar to the scenario Media Plus I can just copy and store my videos, plug-and-play through my TV without the above events.

Look forward to your responses.

Thank you

Hey Buddy,

If you can open the files saved on your laptop videos are ok and it s no video corrupted don't file, so in my opinion, the problem must be the external HARD disk where you store the videos.

Have you tried different videos not the camera? You should test it with other mp4 files and other types of files to ensure that the external HARD drive is working properly.

If it of necessary would directly contact Iomega. There may be an update of firmware for this media player or some settings you need to check these videos work.
I would also try another cable.

  • Only audio playback in MP4 files

    Hello

We have operated FMS 3 for about 3 months now and that someone just sent me a MP4 encoded video file. The file is played through quicktime locally very well.

When I load the video to the FMS and check that the audio file plays back.

To see H.264 content, you should read the file with Flash Player 9,0,115,0 or later. If you use CS3, player used environmental test movie (control > test movie) does not support H.264.

To view the content, you should also Flash Media Server 3.5 - FMS 3 is unclear what H.264 "mp4:" means.

Here's a detailed article on the support of MPEG-4:

  • the .mp4 files are not read correctly on 40TL968

    Hello

A couple of weeks, I bought this TV and I could play via USB or DLNA .mp4 files. But for these past few days, whenever I try to play .mp4 files, they do not play correctly. They get stuck between the two - I mean the video stops and plays automatically. This happens every time, no matter I'm playing with USB and DLNA.

But if I play .avi, they play effortlessly and flawlessly.

No idea why this problem with playback of the .mp4 files?

    Thank you
    D

    > I have reset the TV, but still it did not work. He has yet to play mp4 files

    Have you done this correctly?
I mean that you need to rest at default settings. In this case all the options that have been changed, could be the default value.
    To do this, go to:
Configuration of the system-> Reset TV
When authorities set turn it back on, the Quick Setup is displayed. Press OK to move the Setup program and perform an auto tune.

In addition the user guide provides a list of supported formats (page 93) Media Player
There is a list of the formats supported for music and movie files:

    _Music_ mp4 files are supported.
The extension of files should be .m4a
Audio codec should be MPEG-2/4 LC - AAC
The maximum number of files in the folder: 1000

The file extension supported: .mp4 or .m4v
    Supported video codec: H.264 (MPEG-4 AVC), MPEG-4 part12, 14
    Taken audio codec supported: MPEG-1/2 Layer 3, MPEG-2/4 LC - AAC / MPEG-4 HE - AAC

    Hello

Windows Media Player does not support playback of the .mp4 file format. You can reproduce .mp4 media files in Windows Media Player when you install the decoders compatible DirectShow MPEG-4 packs. For more information, see this Microsoft KB article.

    Step 1:

Try to install this pack of code and check if it helps.

  • How can I convert a .mp4 file to a .wav file?

What is the difference between a .mp4 and .wav file?

How can I convert a .mp4 file to a .wav file?

    Hello

    MPEG-4 (.mp4)

MPEG-4 is a specification of the international standards organization (ISO) that covers many aspects of multimedia presentation, including compression, creation and delivery. Although the video compression and file container definition are two entities separate and independent of the MPEG-4 specification, many people mistakenly believe that the two are interchangeable. You can implement only the parts of the MPEG-4 specification and stay compliant.

The file format MPEG-4, as defined by the MPEG-4 specification, contains encoded MPEG-4 video and audio content encoded AAC Advanced Audio Coding. He usually uses the .mp4 extension. Windows Media Player does not support playback of the .mp4 file format. You can reproduce .mp4 media files in Windows Media Player when you install the decoders compatible DirectShow MPEG-4 packs. MPEG-4 compatible DirectShow decoders packs include the Ligos LSX-MPEG Player and the EnvivioTV player.

    Audio for Windows (.wav)

Versions of Windows Media Player that support this file type:

    Windows Media Player 7

    Windows Windows XP Media Player

    Windows Media Player 9 Series

    Windows Media Player 10

    Windows Media Player 11

Windows uses the file Wave Form Audio (WAV) format to store sounds as waveforms. One minute of its coded in PCM Pulse Code Modulation can occupy as little as 644 kilobytes (KB) or 27 megabytes (MB) of storage. This size of the storage space depends on the sampling frequency, the type of sound (mono or stereo), and the number of bits used for the sample.

Similar in format AVI, ASF, WAV is a container file only. Audio content that is compressed with a wide variety of codecs and that is stored in a .wav file can be played in Windows Media Player if the appropriate codecs are installed on the computer. The most common audio codecs that are used in .wav files include Microsoft Adaptive Differential Pulse Code Modulation (MS ADPCM) and uncompressed Pulse Code Modulation (PCM).

I also suggest you to perform a search engine of search favorite you hot to convert a .mp4 file to a .wav file.

  • Curve 8320 blackBerry Smartphones; Optimal resolution for playback of video files?

I use a Nueros MP4 recorder to copy TV for my curve.  There are several possible video file settings, but some parameters of the curve will not be reading, give me a file error message. Other parameters of audio-video are not synchronized.  I'm working my way through all the options, but it's a slow process.

    Possible settings:

    320 x 240

    320 x 240 15 fps

    176 x 120

    320x2403GP

    174 x 144 3GP

Also, some parameters of the curve will read a small file, less than 60 MB, but won't have video playback to a full hour, 155 MB. Is there a size limit for playback?

I found a solution. It's not pretty, but it works. I save the video to 3GP 320 x 240. I take the MP4 file and then run it via VisualHub using the MP4 tab to convert it to MP4.  It may seem redundant to convert an MP4 to an MP4, but VisualHub must have the correct CODECs to play on the curve.  Because the file is already a MP4, VisualHub is a movie for two hours of treatment in less than 10 minutes. The final MP4 play correctly with no error message.

But there is a second larger problem, the processor of the curve is not quite fast enough to follow the perfect audio and video sync on a two hour movie. A lightweight sync error keeps building. I decided to keep the documentaries with a narrator off the screen on the curve, this way the audio-video synchronization is not really noticeable.  And 30 minute television play well on the curve.

  • No sound/audio in MP4 files

Hi hoping someone here can help out - I use El Capitan 10.11.6 and the audio is missing some MP4 files that I downloaded from a GoPro camera. My sound is fine otherwise, output noise is fine, alert sounds are fine. MOV files off other cameras play well with audio easily here, but I don't hear anything in the files MP4 Quicktime, VLC, Final Cut Pro X, even if in Final Cut Pro X there is an audio waveform on each clip and they were converted to Quicktime using the MPEG stream clip (there no audible sound in the program either). I tried the same files on colleagues Mac running Mavericks and the sound is fine out there so here something to replace or reinstall?

You run the same exact file on El Capitan and the Mavericks?  Shouldn't be any change unless MPEGstreamclip has been defined to use some esoteric audio codec in the file.  First of all, there is no reason to convert the files off your GoPro.  FCPX will work with native files very well.

And, if you never convert, use the GoPro Studio app for this.  Nothing I do will have problems with the standard files.

We use GoPros all the time and didn't have any problems.  What are the settings on the GoPro cameras?

  • iPod Touch cannot play some mp4 files

I have some video captures for the House that my iTunes will transfer to my iPod Touch saying they cannot be played on this.  The videos play in iTunes, and I see nothing unusual in the file type.

An MP4 Player is simply a wrapper for video files. There are many variations in the video files that can be encapsulated in a mp4 file. iTunes can play more variations than the iPod.

I recommend using the hand brake computer free app to convert the file

    https://handbrake.fr/

This app has preset for outings specifically compatible with the iPod

  • Local MP4 files always open with Firefox's built-in video player

I believe before Firefox 35, I was able to open the local links to mp4 files and Firefox would ask me what to do (open, save, etc.). Local links to files mp4 always open in the embedded video player on Firefox with no option to do otherwise. I tried setting "media.windows - media - foundation.enabled' to 'false' and it has no effect on the local links to files mp4." All the other common video formats, I've tested (avi, mpg, wmv) ask me what for, as this is the expected behavior.

    To reproduce:

    1.) enter URL: file:///path/to/video.mp4
2.) observes that the file opens in the video player built-in with no option to do otherwise

Hello, please put media.windows - media - foundation.enabled to his default preference and try to activate media.play - stand alone false instead.

  • can firefox play a mp4 file?

I have a html 5 lines of code on my server uses the tag video. the movie I mention, in the code, is a xxxxxx.mp4 file
I can play this mp4, online or offline, in IE, Safari, Chrome and Opera, but NOT in firefox (I have v12). It gives err: "no video with a format supported MIME type found" or similar. I need to convert my mp4 to another type of file, or is there something I can 'do with' my FF to 12! I use XP, on a desktop computer.

In general, no, the current versions of Firefox do not natively support mp4 files. Users currently require a plug-in of some sort to play mp4 files in the browser. This is likely to change at some point in the near future; There was a long discussion on this topic and the general decision was to implement support this format.
