  Hi, I try to install more ram (512 MB crucial 200 - pin SODIMM 64MX64 DDR PC2700).

  Sounds like a driver problem, you just need to download the Toshiba display driver, uninstall your old ATI driver with the ATI Control Panel, restart and reinstall again.

  I guess the laptop will be version Toshiba OEM XP and XP security then considered a different laptop and prevent the operation!

  I found Intel® Core 2 Extreme Processor QX9300 who might be compatible. It has 4 cores and a thermal power of 45W design, compared to P8400 of TDP 25W. I suspect that the cooling of this laptop is insufficient to be able to disperse the money.
