Touch pad/keyboard has stopped working.

Hi there. im hoping someone can help me with a question im having my laptop. for some reason any my touchpad and keyboard stop working. I tried reintalling windows to correct the problem that it does for one day and then the same thing happens again. When I checked in Device Manager and clicked on the PS/2 mouse, he said that there is an error code 10. If I uninstall ps/2 and reboot the laptop this solves the problem for a while, and then it happens again. My OS is windows 7, I think it has been upgraded to windows vista (I recently bought this 2nd hand computer laptop) so im not 100% sure on that. the date of the driver for the ps/2 compatible mouse is 21/06/2006. I tried to look on the Web site for a more updated keyboard to update driver, but I can't seem to find a. She seems to have all other drivers dismantled for the keyboard driver.

any help would be greatly appreciated
concerning
Johnny.

Hello

  • Dell bluetooth keyboard has stopped working

I have a dell keyboard and mouse bluetooth.  The mouse works fine, but the keyboard has stopped working. Batteries are fine. Cannot 'discover' the keyboard because I don't seem to have any device options 'bluetooth' in my control panel devices. Any ideas?

Contact Dell or just buy a new keyboard.  Wired are really not expensive - I bought one for $9 that works very well.

    Good luck.

  • Numbers of wired keyboard has stopped working

I have a keyboard attached to a wired Macbook Pro Apple. The keyboard worked fine for a year apart from the occasional glitch when it stops working, I add an extension of cable and it starts working again.  However, all of a sudden the numbers on the keyboard at the top of the keyboard have stopped working (but - and = work). the keyboard on the right continue stop work very well.  I think the function keys work always.  Someone at - it ideas?  It's driving me crazy! Tried to restart and don't Scream - no luck so far.

Hello Lloyd C from the United Kingdom.

If I understand you right, the numbers on the wired Apple keyboard that you have connected to your MacBook Pro stopped working. We know that it's never ideal to have a device that does not work as expected, we are happy to help you get the keyboard to work again.

The first thing I would recommend, first and foremost, is to update your Mac if there are updates available for the version of Mac OS X, you're running. Follow the steps in the article to support below if you are not familiar with how to update. For the purposes of troubleshooting, whenever you test your keyboard after you follow the steps that we provide, make sure that it is while the keyboard is connected directly to the USB port built-in on your MacBook and not connected to a USB hub. In addition, disconnect all other devices you have plugged into your Mac, besides than the charging cable under test.

Update the software on your Mac

If the problem persists after the update, the next step would be to reset the system management controller (SMC). The MSC is a part inside your MacBook, who helps run various physical parts of your computer, and resetting can sometimes help the problems associated with the keyboard and USB functions. The support article below contains the steps on how to reset the SMC.

Reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac.

Test the keyboard after that the MSC has been reset. If the problem persists, follow the steps in the "Steps to a USB keyboard" section in the following article:

If your USB keyboard or wireless does not work

Remember that it's always a possibility that the issue could be with the keyboard itself. If you continue to have problems with certain keys, try to connect the keyboard to a different Mac, if you manage to and see if you experience the same problems.

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

    Take care!

  • My keyboard has stopped working - please help!

    Hello.
For some reason, the keyboard on my laptop Satellite 1000 series has stopped working (I think someone was able to associate some liquid above...). Device displays Manager ' easy internet keyboard "and"logitech HID-compliant keyboard"(which refers to a USB keyboard I was forced to buy).
No luck, anyone know what is happening and how I can get my keyboard to work again? Maybe something to do with the reinstallation of the drivers?

    Hi Adam

If somebody spilled a little liquid to hardware malfunction and I guess that the keyboard is default now. Try to contact the Service partner and pick up some information how the new costs of keyboard. You can also a Google a little bit around and find that keyboard correspond to your model of laptop.

In my opinion you can exchange only.

  • All USB keyboard has stopped working

    Hello

All USB keyboards have stopped working on my installation of windows 7. They work fine in the BIOS or on my Ubuntu installation. When I plug a keyboard, it still gives an error code 29 (drivers not found). I tried using two keyboards: a Logitech Gaming Keyboard G105 and a fairly generic wireless keyboard (a dongle to connect to the computer).

I tried to uninstall it from the Device Manager and plug or restarted again, but the result is the same. Windows Update cannot find driver updates, and a system repair disc doesn't detect any problems. I temporarily created a fresh install of windows 7, which recognizes the keyboards very well. There is no driver available manufacturer (attempt to all keyboards are supposed to use the base drivers), and the keyboard Logitech gaming software does not see that it is there. 'Control Panel-> devices and printers' keyboards of lists of names, but the shows not even the stuff of work that is just under the Device Manager and the problem-solving the tent and is unable to find the drivers again. Try to select the driver HID keyboard in the Device Manager just in fact give the code 10 error (device does not start) instead.
Nothing I've tried has gotten me anywhere. I would rather not re-install Windows 7, like all the time and effort to get my system how do I like it took me forever, but I can't see how I solve this problem. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you
    Zoden

There is a good chance a "repair" install will fix the problem as a "repair" install should re-create any missing or corrupt driver installation file.

I don't see anything definitive where observer records but can provide you with the following file, which can provide more specific information:

  • Screen touch Inspiron 2350 has stopped working

A few days ago I started my Inspiron 2350 and the touch screen does not work.

It doesn't seem to be a clear answer as to why it stopped working or a general framework that will allow me to fix it.

In addition, under my current computer information / drivers, the computer does not recognize a touchscreen... that laugh because the monitor is attached to the base of the computer.

If I had to guess, based on the horrible criticism from Windows, I'm sure something is automatically updated to Windows and launched. I am currently operating on 8.1 - and since I out took it of the box three months ago. This problem started last week.

    Thanks for any help.

p.s. the monitor driver says that it works properly and is up-to-date.

I'm having exactly the same issues over the past months... In my opinion, to do with automatic shutter windows 8.1 update as well. I have re-installed to make the adjustment and then touch screen reworked. Then windows update automatic, touch has stopped working again. Repetitive cycles, it seems that Dell could not have intended to solve this problem at all. The last pilot patch file was last year... they never update it... I remember my first PC of Intel4 Dell, purchased at the College; She was flawed with driver problems through my 4 years in College; completely lost my parent$ 1700, ten years ago... I do not understand how my wife of Mac user to make me buy another dell again (because I told him I'm a PC person?) ... my final solution can be... support of stop 1.) calling Dell technology, these people have probably even high school, 2) switch to Mac and never re-use a PC... 3.) oh, I sell my stock Dell too... Stop wasting our lives to find a solution for this... how long did you spend YOU on this problems so far?

    Hello.

The problem is that my laptop keyboard has suddenly stopped working. It does not at all.

  • I deleted the driver for the mouse and the mouse and the keyboard has stopped working.

I had installed an updated driver mouse and mouse keep locking up. The Windows troubleshooting information indicates that I have to erase the disc from the mouse, and then reinstall the new mouse driver. When I deleted the mouse driver, the mouse and the keyboard no longer works.

The computer is running Windows XP with Service Pack 3.

The computer is one that I built several years ago.

    I tried the things:

    1. I tried the ALT, left SHIFT + Number Lock which is indicated as mouse keyboard operation who has worked in the past.

Well it does not either from the keyboard is dead.

    2. I tried PS2 Mouse and a keyboard.

    3. I tried a keyboard and a USB mouse. The system shows new hardware found and he wonder then click NEXT to load the driver. No mouse, no keyboard, so no click.

    4. I can't get into the bios, because I can't hit keys to vector in the bios during startup.

    5. I tried to load the Windows XP disk, but the startup routine ask me to hit any key to boot from the CD.

I have no mouse or keyboard control and therefore cannot respond to any action required by the system.

Does anyone know a way to solve this problem?

Solution of my wife - buy a new computer.

Have a better solution for this problem?

    Thank you

Always try a PS/2 keyboard.  Maybe your PC is not able to access the BIOS, because the keyboard is USB.

  • The audio controls on the top of the keyboard has stopped working.

At the top of the keyboard controls that control the volume mute and sound stopped working.  The machine is a Pavilion dv7 Windows 7.  Sound keys are light up and when the machine starts and stops the symbol for the 'secret' change to red.  After booting the machine it turns on but does not work.  I was wondering if these controls are selectable by software and I stop them inadvertently.

  • HP Pavilion g6-2240sa - almost the entire keyboard has stopped working. Help please!

Hi, I have a HP Pavilion g6-2240sa with Windows 8 operating system.

This morning I turned on my laptop and the keyboard was not working, I had to use the on-screen keyboard to connect (this icon narrarator was fortunately in the lower corner). Later, I tried all the keys, just in case where it was not all keyboard - and discovered the tab left ctrl, NumLock, CapsLock Num 9, f10, f3, f6 and numlock less all responded but were only playing with the light and sound.

I did not any changes to the system recently that could have caused this and the only thing I can think is my boyfriend stumble on a staircase door in my living room entry and obtaining of coke on the table, maybe a little spashed under the screen, but I do know that nothing got inside the computers speakers.

I have tried to find solutions and trying to shut down the computer, remove the battery and hold the power button and enter the Security menu, keys do not respond when I try to go to the Security menu, so that didn't work.

Can someone help me please, I'm still under warranty, but I hope it's something I can fix myself.

  • USB keyboard has stopped working.

Hi, I have an old Dell Dimension 2400 desktop computer. Recently while driving, the PC keyboard got accidentally unplugged while the pc was always under tension. This is a standard Dell USB keyboard which should be plug-and-play. Since then, the keyboard no longer works. I tried restarting several times, no luck. According to Dell keyboard is supported by microsoft XP and there is no driver is available on the Dell site downloads. I tried the system restore, and it made no difference. Help please. I don't have another keyboard to try.

    Hi newbs68,

-Other USB devices would not be detected without any problem?

Try to connect the USB keyboard to USB ports and see if it makes a difference. Also, if possible, connect the keyboard to a different computer and see if it is detected.
