TouchSmart iq790uk upgrade

My touchsmart iq790uk will support an upgrade to windows 7 (32 bit) to windows 7 (64-bit) and also support an upgrade of memory from 4 GB to 8 GB without having conflicts.

Sorry, but the answer is no to both questions.  You have a 32-bit system that contains a maximum of 4 g of memory.

  • HP Envy 15t Touchsmart Quad: upgrade of the 8-4 x 2 DIMM, for 12 gb - 1 x 8 and 1 x 4 ram

Probably not, unless one of the few things is true: 1) you run a virtual machine operating system which is striking a heap; or (2) you're editing large batches of photos with Photoshop, video editing or recode video or compilation of big chunks of Code. Game has not more than 8 GB and virtually nothing that 99% of the consumer computer users do use more than 8 GB of RAM. That's a lot of RAM. I just spent a portable 16 gig on a junior employee and now uses a portable 8 GB and I do miss the 16 concerts. It was purely a vanity thing. But I would setup 16 until I settle down 12. Because of the dual channel. The ones you posted my last choice would be the KVR (Kingston Value RAM) because we're getting reports of problems with it, here every now and then. The other modules appear well and my first choice would be the actual Ref. HP memory.

If you charge your computer to be slow, adding memory above 8 GB is likely to disappoint you. I would actually like to receommend you spend money on an SSD or even reinstall Windows.

    Hi there @harrybatt,

That the Forums are with you! It's a good place to find the help you need, other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff. I understand that you are looking or help with options to upgrade to the system you have.  I'm happy to help you with this.

Based on the modl that you gave, I think that a good guide would be HP TouchSmart 420-1000 t product specifications and configurable Optionsand HP and Compaq desktop PC - specifications of the motherboard, IPISB-NK (LavacaB) that shows the options to purchase, what would be the supported options.

  • HP TouchSmart 300-1120: the video card upgrade

I came into possession of a HP Touchsmart 300-1120. I do not use not for the games just the navigation and use to watch movies when traveling through Plex home theater.

I've updated the CPU to an Athlon X 4 605th & maxed out the RAM 8 GB. I noticed that I can upgrade the video card using the Mobile PCI Express Module slot.  Even though I know that the GPU Radeon HD 3200 onboard can handle HD videos, he hangs out considerably. even though I have the film on the hard drive.

So the question is, where can find one of these cards. And is there a way to upgrade the PSU?

    Thank you

Your PC AIO has a sleeve of MXM graphics.  The following video card will work. It was included in some models of PC.

HP 594505-001 nVidia GeForce G210 512 MB MXM DDR3 video card

    http://PartSurfer.HP.com/ShowPhoto.aspx?PartNumber=594505-001

You need to search online to find a seller or a person who has one for sale. I see them on eBay for @ $35-50, 00

The upgrade of the PSU is not a viable option.

  • HP Envy 15-j109TX Touchsmart computer laptop upgrade help

Hello, my HP Touchsmart Envy 15 - j109TX laptop computer is shipped with 2 GB DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GT M 740 graphics. Can I put graphics or higher cards of 4 GB DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GT M 750 ?

Also, I want to upgrade the RAM to 16 GB and a 2 TB HARD drive . Is this possible? I don't see any customization option in the HP Shopping Web site. So how can I do? also, thanks for mentioning about cost of upgrade of these.

    Hello

Here are the specifications of product: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04031367

Go through the Page 4 and 5 of the user manual:
    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c04091768.PDF

    Upgrade options:
Up to 1.5 TB drive HARD with no hybrid NAND support

Up to 16GB 1600 MHz RAM with boost DDR3L dual channel

Although Nvidia 750 M dedicated 4 GB card is indicate against the graphics options, I think not that this is possible because actually nvidia in this model is not as a card but more a chip which is attached to the motherboard. I think you need to contact HP in your area directly for this.

    It will be useful,
    Thank you

  • Upgrade of an ENVY TouchSmart 17-j005ea

I plan to replace my Dell with what would be my first HP laptop (a 17-j005ea ENVY TouchSmart), but I'm not sure if I would be able to upgrade.

I'd be looking to replace one of the hard drives with a SDD and replace the DVD drive with Blu - ray burner, but I heard that the upgrade can be a problem with some HP laptops.

These upgrades would be not possible for a person with basic experience of the PC?  (I create my own desktops and have upgraded discs and memory on Dell laptops without difficulty.)

Depends on how you define the problem. Here's an announced a swap and go for replacement:

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/HP-466803-501-656795-001-6x-Blu-ray-burner-slot-in-drive-envy-Omni-TouchSmart-/121233654476?PT=US_CD_DVD_Blu_Ray_Duplicators & Hash = item1c3a16c2cc

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

Page 56. Remove the service cover and screw. Drag the old drive on. Remove the cover of the old drive and pop on the new and slide in. You will need a Blu - Ray as the current version of Power DVD burning software and software Blu - Ray as the current version of Nero.

  • TouchSmart N090sa 15: N090sa Wifi card upgrade

I have a Touchsmart 15 N090sa and I was wondering if in the bios, there was a list of wireless card white I want to upgrade a newer version, as if there is a whitelist which would limit the options for many.

You are not hampered by a white list, to the best of our ability to discern. HP has never published an accurate list of the models that have no list white and the best, it can be thought of feedback from users, is that any laptop made after January 1, 2014 is passed the white list but not guaranteed. The upgrade is relatively easy, because your model has an access on the lower panel that contains the wifi card. This will allow you to easily check if you have a 1 antenna or 2. If you have 1 upgrade becomes a much bigger and it's probably a show-stopper.

See p. 49 of the manual here:

    Manual

Since you have the AMD processor that I'd stay away from Intel wireless cards and recommends that it:

  • Upgrade of RAM HP Pavilion TouchSmart 14-f021nr

I am considering buying a HP Pavilion TouchSmart 14-f021nr, but I'm unable to find detailed information about its RAM.  All sources I've found say it comes with 4 GB of DDR3 RAM, and the maximum value supported is 8 GB.  What is not clear if a second stick of 4 GB will seek up to 8 GB, or if there is only one slot that is initially taken by the supplied 4 GB, making a single 8 GB stick the only way to upgrade.  In short, is dual-channel a possibility?

Also, if anyone knows the RAM timings provided RAM, that would be wonderful as well.

    Hello

Your laptop has 2 slots, each of which can contain a maximum of 4 GB module for a total of 8 GB - an example of an upgrade appropriate can be seen on the following link.

  • HP Touchsmart 23-d055: do I need a new recovery disk after upgrade to Windows 10?

I upgraded my 2 years, HP Touchsmart in Windows 8 for Windows 8.1 for Windows 10. It took me 6 hours to run all of these updates.

Now, HP Support Assistant keeps reminding me to create an image of system recovery. But when I run the recovery media creation utility, it warns me that he goes back to the original operating system (Win8). Is it possible to create a recovery image system for my machine on Windows 10?

I know that Windows 10 now has an automatic recovery partition. But I am concerned by the failure of the disk, which would make this unnecessary partition. Last year, when I've upgraded to win 8.1, I had an alteration of the disc that has occurred without known reason. I lost everything on the PC and to restore Win 8, and I've never touched the PC up to 10 Windows free update is out.

I created a USB Win8 recovery disk when I got the machine. This is my only alternative? I suppose that if I ran the recovery media creation utility, it would recreate just the same.

BTW, I know that HP has here a document, but it does on computers provided with Windows installed 10.

Thank you for your help and experience.

Since no one has replied with an answer to my question, I've finally worked it on my own. I learned that you cannot make a new recovery disk system after the upgrade to Windows 10, if you had already created one when you got your machine under Windows 8.x

Context: after upgrade to Windows 10, the HP Support Assistant kept prompting me to create a system recovery disk.  I did one when I got the machine 2 years with Win8.  I didn't replace my original recovery disk, so I went out and got a new 16GB USB flash drive. When I inserted this new drive and attempted to create a recovery disk, the PC told me I couldn't do one, because you are allowed to make a recovery disc by PC.

So it was kind of stupid that after completing the upgrade of Windows 10, HP Support Assistant tells people to do. It should just check itself and see if a disc has already been done. All this anguish for nothing!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your computer laptop TouchSmart from HP ENVY 15-j122ea and research of compatibility and upgrading RAM. Hereis a link to your page 47 for compatible memory manuals. I see that the specs are the same and you have a maximum of 16 slots for 2 x 8 MB RAM. Your choice should work just fine.
