Trade an original Vista install disk for SP2 disc.

I have an original version of Vista disc and an upgrade to Windows 7.  As many of us know the original version of vista it installs with more than 3 GB of ram installed, and you can not upgrade to Windows 7, until you have installed atleast SP1.  This is obviously a huge hassle.  Can I send my Vista disk to Microsoft in exchane for and the SP2 version?

Thank you

P.D.

Microsoft does not have disk exchange service.

  • Satellite A300 - Win Vista instalation disk missing

    Hello world.

This is my first time on any forum ever :)

In August 2008, I bought laptop Toshiba Satellite A300 - 149. There was a lot of turbulence in our relationship, but we always went by them so far.

Some time ago I added an additional hard drive just for the system. I did it just to have all important data in the entity. This extra drive decided to die.

The problem is that there is no more the oryginal disc recovery so I have a laptop, hard drive and the product key for windows, but no instalation windows disk or at least file.

Can you please help me and tell what should I do now because I can't undo what I've done already :)

    Hello

Your A300 was delivered with the operating system from Vista preinstalled (recovery image). This recovery image is saved on the HARD disk. Operating manuals s described document that each owner of the laptop must create the installation of recovery disk using pre-installed recovery media creator tool.

If I understand you right you didn't he create if it is your only error.
    What can you do now?
    You have two options:
1 / you can order the original recovery disc - https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
2 / you can install own OS version

I have too many A300 and for three years I use it with Windows 7 32 bit. It works perfectly and much better than original Vista.

In any case, you do need to make the decision. If you have any other questions do not hesitate to ask.

  • Lost Vista install disk - upgrade to WIN 7 - Help!

Well, my problem is that I have an old PC that comes with windows XP Pro. About 2 years ago, I bought Vista Home from Best Buy.
A few days ago I have upgraded to a trial version of Windows 7 Ultimate and I like 25 days to activate it, which I don't want to because I lost the characteristics that I had, I seem to have some compatibility issues, etc...
HOW to return to my Vista?
I DO NOT HAVE my disk of Vista that I bought at Best Buy.
My version of Vista is registered with Microsoft and I have my Original Product ID and product key.
It would seem that Microsoft would be able to easily provide me with a replacement CD I'm paying to have delivered to me or give me a link to loadable.
How should I proceed? Microsoft will do for me?

    Hi, Brian:

You can order for your model of HP recovery disks by clicking on the link below and then clicking on the link order recovery media.

If for some reason, the link doesn't work (happens sometimes), just call HP technical support and order a game by phone.

  • Cannot find and original Windows install disks

I have an old Inspiron 530 of s that has Windows XP on it, and it came with Windows Vista discs as well, but I can't find them. I looked on the Dell site and have not found a place to order or download those, is it possible to do? If not, is there a place on the computer to do a factory reset in case I want to sell it?

Windows XP is the end of life so its not recommended to reinstall. You will not be able to download it or ask the Windows XP at Dell support. eBay is the only place to get media.

For Windows Vista you can download it from Digital River by following the instructions here:

    Hello

Here are the different ways to reinstall Vista

Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

    ____________________________________________________________

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

    __________________________________________________________

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

  • Windows wants to install updates for Office 2002 and Office XP and I have VISTA and Office 2007

I have read many topics and I can't seem to find the same problem I have.  I use Windows VISTA Home Premium (32 bit) for awhile and since June 30, 2009, I had bad download and install Windows updates.  I installed updates today, but I continue to be invited to run/install updates for Office XP and Office 2002 (currently about 9).  I used VISTA and Office 2007 for some time.  I believe that I have IE 7 and SP2.  I appreciate any help I can get to fix this.  Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello SKYisDlimit,

After my communication to you, I continued to the Internet using the search.  I was finally able to locate the file you suggested (Msmapi\1033) he successfully Office Pro 2003 Outlook running.  Thank you!!

I don't know if you're alone in asking the question following or not, but I'm still able to re - install Microsoft Office Professional 2007.  I uninstalled after information I received of Santosh, and it has the re - install Office Pro 2003 (which have been upgraded).  Now when I try to reinstall 2007 (bought in February 2007), I keep getting the following message: "Setup is unable to find a version of Microsoft Office on your computer.  If Office is installed on a disk or a network share, click the buttun browse to select the appropriate disk or sharing.  If you have a version of MB on a CD, insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive, and then click the Browse button to select the appropriate drive. »

I tried several times without success.  Of course, I use Office 2003 Pro, so it's on the computer.  If you are unable to solve this problem, please either direct to the appropriate area or tell me who I need to contact.  Once again, thank you in advance for your help.  Needless to say, it's more frustrating!
