Tranfering data to the new computer

I just bought a new computer and installed DW8 on it. I was wondering if there is a file or a database I can pull from my old computer, which is installed with all FTP DWMX / connection/password so I don't have to do it manually. I manage about 50 sites, so this would allow me to save a few bucks working hours.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do a search on the exchange of an extension to export site definitions. DW
allows you to do one at a time, but the extension allows you to do all at once.

I copied and transferred my iTunes folder from an old hard drive to new drive but when you open the iTunes application, he does not see the music in the iTunes folder.  I think it may be related to that of the old iTunes folder now in the new computer.  I have more access to the old hard drive, only the copies on external drives, so I cannot consolidate the music in one folder using iTunes.

The iTunes media folder location has been given as C:\Users\User\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media and I replaced the iTunes on the new C drive folder with my old iTunes folder copied.

  • Added the new computer but lost all favorite settings on old. I need new account keep different settings on both?

My laptop (i5, running Win 7) is my workhorse computer that had all my favorite settings stored. I added a new office (AMD, Win 8.1) that will be used as a multimedia entertainment unit, but when I connected the cable to install FireFox it replaced all the settings in my laptop with the new computer. How can I keep the different settings on each computer? Must have 2 different accounts to be able to do this? I have now lost the web address for some of my sites, so it's quite painful. • migration assistant crushes apps on the new computer?

I've migrated user accounts to a new mac from an old mac. I want to migrate applications as well, but do not want to replace the existing applications on the new computer. How can I avoid this?

Generally if you are migrating a newer Mac to an older apps, they will not work because the version is too new. Migration wizard is designed to transfer data to a newer Mac. It would be better to re - download the apps you want on the old computer to get the correct version. If none of them are paid 3rd party apps, they have a license or serial number. Download them on the old mac and then enter in registration. If you paid apps from the Mac App Store, they will be on your tab bought on the older Mac.

I have a new MacPro with El Capitan.  In the implementation of the new computer, I installed my email accounts, one in particular (a gmail account) had 7 GB of files.  I went into the settings Gmail and disabled Protocol IMAP AllMail, Archive, and several others that I didn't need on the Mac Mail.  It seems that there is a residue of all these emails stored on computer and I would like to remove them because they consume a lot of space on the hard disk.    Y at - it a particular cache that can be cleaned?  A special way to remove hidden files?

You must remove the Gmail account in Mail in Preferences > accounts. This will bring you to system preferences > Internet accounts. Uncheck the Gmail box in system preferences.

  • Need some advice on the new computer from HP.

I bought a new HP computer and it shipped just yesterday and delivery date is Thursday (12th).  I am new to HP computers, my other 2 desktops are Dell and Toshiba laptop of my wife. Laptop is Win 7 and desktop computers are Win XP. The most recent Win XP is:

    Windows XP Professional SP3 32-bit
    Intel Core 2 CPU 6300 @ 1.86GHz
    4 GB of Ram.

Don't laugh, my other Dell XP desktop computer is simple core!  Laughing out loud

These 2 computers will retire after I receive and configure the HP computer:

HP Pavilion HPE h8 desktop PC - 1360t
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64
3rd generation Intel Core i7-3770 to processor quad-core [3.4 GHz, 8 MB of shared cache]

SATA 1 TB hard drive 7200 RPM.

Do you think I'll note and difference? (I'm kidding) Laughing out loud

    1. is there a procedure for the implementation of the new computer? I'll be the only one to use it.

    2. I also want to do a recovery disk. Can I do this after having my computer account?

    3. the computer come with Service Pack 1 installed?

HP Pavilion HPE h8 desktop PC - 1360t
    Win 7 x 64 ~ ~ SP1, IE11 ~ ~ FF i7 3770 3.40 GHz ~ 10 GB Ram ~ NIS 2014

    Congratulations for the excellent choice.

    1. is there a procedure for the implementation of the new computer? I'll be the only one to use it.

With your experience, you probably won't have a problem. I strongly support you haven't set a password on it.

You can always add a password later.

    2. I also want to do a recovery disk. Can I do this after having my computer account?

Configuration of the computer and do what is required to complete the user account. It is advisable to only use DVD + R media. You will probably need 3-4 DVD + R and the usual CD - R disc repair system.

    3. the computer come with Service Pack 1 installed? This date should be. There will be updates.

    Hi Matthew Dragon,.

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Answers.

You can transfer data from one computer to another, but you can't transfer programs. Unless it's portable and requires no installation.

I suggest you to install the game in the new computer and copy the game files (including save game files) from your old computer and save it in the same place in your new computer.

Backup set files will be in the folder where the game is installed or in my documents.

    Kind regards

  • HP All in one Printer of 55 G: HP Officejet G 55 connecting to the new computer

Good day for the United Kingdom

I set myself treaties to a new Lenovo desktop.

With the operating system of Windows 8.1.

My old HP Officejet G 55, printer all-in-one is a trust serve for several years and has worked well.

It was no problem and worked well until he presented my my new computer again. The girl seems to be shy or has big problems with his new roommate.  (I guess that driver problems)

The new computer found the printer immediately, but seems to have problems when printing not

print all documents, (some are complete, but several pages do not seem to want to print and it shows an instance of the error.

I visited the site of HP and installed HP support assistance, I ran the printing doctor who finds the printer

poster communicates with my printer, and then it blocks not appearing is not to achieve something.

I guess now you can say I'm a complete novis in the computer (Old boy), which I think is expected a new computer to talk with an old printer. I tried to download the update of drivers, without success, I now ask I am doing the impossible, and I have to go out and buy a new printer?

Any help and advice would be much appreciated

    Cordially a boy needing help!

Thanks a lot for your kind reply.

I'll try once more to download and update the printer drivers on the computer,

  • Windows live photo gallery: original photos lost the transfer to the new computer

photos to the new computer, and the originals have not been transferred as im guessing they're saved in the software/program that cannot be transferred.

If there is not a way to transfer original and edited photos to the new computer, is there a way to return all original with a single click, so that I can transfer the originals on my new computer?

    Thank you.

Thank you, you saved my originals... I copy paste, but can not work how to connect my pictures changed to the originals so that I can click on my modified photos and click on 'back '.

    Thanks again

    ===========================================
Sorry, but I don't have the exact solution for re - associate the
originals with edited versions.  The only thing I would like to know
to try would be to place the originals in the original Images
    folder on the new system.

Maybe... I say just that maybe if you copied the photo gallery
exclusive database of the old system and used it to replace
the database on the new system. (Just copy and paste the file in)
the appropriate on the new system folder, and when you see
... dialog box you want to replace? with? Select Yes.

Also... you could instead of replace your new database...
rename it... Pictures.OLD for example. So if the replacement
do not re - associate files... you can remove the replacement
and rename the OLD version in what it was and the Gallery
must be as it was before the change.

Depending on the version of your photo gallery might be the database
    Pictures.PD5, Pictures.pd6, Pictures.pd7...

The path to the version of Win XP is:

    C:\Documents and Settings\ > user name<\Local>
    Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Live Photo Gallery\
    Pictures.PD4, Pictures.pd5 or Pictures.pd6

    Windows Vista:

    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\
    Windows Photo Gallery\Pictures.pd4 or pd5 pd6

    Windows 7:

    Windows\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\
    Windows Live Photo Gallery\Pictures.pd6

(Sorry, but I'm not sure of the path in Windows 8 but if you)
do a search for PD6 PD7, you should be able to find it.

The former article is a user experience
with the shifting of the database... maybe it would offer a few ideas:

  • Can I transfer to the new computer hard drive with the operating system

I am building a new computer and want the best way to transfer my data.  I can transfer the data to a new SATA drive and then install the new drive in the new computer without having to do anything else.   Or I can install XP on the new computer first then do the transfer queue using the old IDE drive in a portable USB enclosure?  or?

    TKS

    John

    Sort that works is great.

If you use the USB case, make sure that it can provide enough power to the drive.  Usually this isn't a problem if the old drive was a laptop computer but can be a problem if it was a desktop drive.

Assuming that your old computer still works, the easiest is to put all the files you want to transfer to a folder, and then share this folder on the network.  Connect both computers to your home network, then simply attach to the shared folder on the network from the other computer and drag and drop your files to your new computer.

  • Installing old drive in the new computer

I'm about to buy a computer refurbished one on Ebay. The computer comes with a hard disk of 40 GB and installed Windows XP Pro. The hard drive from my old computer which is dead is 250 GB and also has top XP Pro. I prefer to use my old drive from my old computer in that new / opportunity that I buy. I can do that or did I meet licensing issues. I have the XP install disk that I used to install it on my old computer.

    Hello

Since this will be a different hardware on the new computer, you may experience problems of license.

In this case, you may need to reinstall the operating system on the new computer with the old hard drive.

I suggest that you back up all data on the old hard drive prior to installation. To do this, connect it as a secondary hard drive to back up data. Later, you can disconnect the new hard drive (40 GB), this (250 GB) primary and install Windows XP.

How to install or upgrade to Windows XP
