Transfer blackBerry Smartphones from Palm to Blackberry via the switch device Wizard

I am trying to use the device switch Wizard to transfer the data from my Palm Desktop on my Blackberry Desktop (my current Palm device is the Centro, and all data are saved on the desktop).  When I get to the window "select Desktop Organizer', both ' Palm/Treo or Palm Desktop software' and 'Software Windows Mobile for devices such as a Smartphone or a Pocket PC' options grayed out and neither to be selected.  Any advice on how to skip this step?

For some reason it should not be recognizing the Palm Desktop software.

Once in front, I had to export all data from Palm to Cs4l or XLS file (I forget which) and then import all on my Outlook and then sync Outlook to the BlackBerry.

I found this...

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Switch Device Wizard necessary?

I have a Storm I used for a few weeks.  Previously I was using a curve, but my dog ate so I stopped using it.  I manually pulling non-synched as-of-then entries.  I have to do the switch device Wizard if it is not really all of the data that I need my old curve?  Also, if it's important, I have loaded companion link so I can sync with my ACT 6.0 contacts and calendar.  Will all this be screwed up if I just plug in the storm and hit Synch?  The Blackberry Desktop Manager cares which is hanging on to her - the old curve or the new storm?  I hate the idea of having to configure it again.  I can't wipe my Pocket Storm is referred to in the instructions somewhere since I have all my email, etc. in place.

You can choose to use the wizard to Switch device or not... me, I would because I want all my previous camera carried over to the new settings. That said, it is also worth noting that the storm will not many preferences that you used on the curve, so the SDW is not so important here - except for data, contacts, etc. on the old device.

Using ACT, you can simply do sync everything and get your data, as well as the responses only. You don't really have the SDW.

Finally, yes - Desktop Manager will see your storm for the storm it is. You don't need to say something special to DM.

  • Issue of transfer of Smartphones from blackBerry Bold 9700 Email

I recently transferred my data and emails from Outlook to my new Bold 9700.  Unfortunately, I used Blackberry Desktop Manager version 4.x that I used before with my old 8700 c, instead of the first update to version 5.0.  The new version of Desktop Manager apparently has an application designed to transfer all the data (all emails) from the old Blackberry to the new device.  In any case, all my PIM data transferred but only 7 days of emails (emails about 175) made the passage.  Talked with level 2 support to support Blackberry BES Office.  They said that only 14 days or 750 emails (which ever comes first) should make the transfer. They had me wipe the data off the 9700, delete my profile on the BES server, create a new profile of BES and reload everything.  Unfortunately I got the same results (and pass the next reload software hours, etc..).

The old emails are always in Outlook and on our company server.  The 9700 is set to store 6 months emails, but the Blackberry tech support people say that means 6 months in the future.

Any ideas on how to get the old emails transferred the 9700?

    Problem solved, sort of.

I had to exchange the 9700 for a new thanks to a faulty camera.

With the new 9700, I did the following:

    (1) delete my profile on the Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES).

    (2) load the latest version (5.0) of the Blackberry Desktop Manager (BDM) software on a laptop.

    (3) began the BDM software.

    (4) Switch Device Manager selected.

    (5) started the program "Switch Blackberry Devices".

    (6) connected the old BB 8700 c.

    (7) connected the new BB 9700.

    (8) follow the guests of the program.

    (9) waited 15 minutes for the old emails and PIM data to back up out of the 8700 c.

    (10) another waited 15 minutes for the old emails and data PIM to transfer the 9700.

    (11) restarted the 9700.

    (12) re-created my profile on the BES.

    (13) Ran the e-mail Setup Wizard (Setup > Setup Wizard > e-mail setup) and select the option "I want to use a professional email with BlackBerry Enterprise Server account.

    (14) entered the information on BES.

    (15) run the initialization of the enterprise activation process for about 45 minutes.

At the end of the process, I got all the 6000 + old emails entangled in dozens of customer records.  I also had all but two dozen of the hundreds of e-mails I received last week.  (I think the missing emails could have been initially sent during the outage of server last RIM Monday afternoon - Tuesday morning).

    All profile settings also transferred.

Now I can reload applications and non - 8700 c bound parameters.

  • Info transfer of Smartphones from blackBerry curve a Bold 9700

I'm trying to transfer my contacts from my old curve to my new Bold 9700 using the Blackberry Desktop Software (v. 6.0.0.40).  I have two questions: (1) I keep prompted for a password for each of the devices, but it does not recognize my device passwords and keep asking myself the passwords - what am I doing wrong? and (2) it is possible to transfer only the contacts and nothing else? (My boyfriend of systems already transferred my emails).

    Thank you

    Bob

    Sorry, everybody.

I feel like a * beep *-the problem I have had with my device passwords was my fault.  The character that I kept thinking has a number (number on my Blackberry) was in fact a letter, and I needed to enter it as a letter on the keyboard of my computer.  For example, I thought, it was "5555" was actually "dddd".

  • Details of transfer of Smartphones from blackBerry to Palm Treo 650 to Tour via BB Desktop Manager

I just got the new Tour.  I've been using the Palm Treo and Palm Desktop (v 4.1.4).  1: the BB Desktop manager does NOT ask for name/password of the device, as indicated on this site.  2nd AND MAIN QUESTION: when BB starts to pass data from one platform to the other, it invariably gets stuck in the first transaction (calendar) on file 3724 3385, how it is listed as "not responding" and the same message comes back to Palm Desktop.  By another post, I adjusted the settings in Hot Sync related to the calendar to 'do nothing', but still experiences the same problem.  Help, please!  If I can't get these documents (including contacts) in the BB, it is worthless for me.

Thanks for the suggestions. What ended the work has been upgraded to the latest version of Palm Desktop (v6.2) syncing the Palm Treo to Outlook (instead of Palm Desktop) and then sync Blackberry to Outlook.  Nothing else has worked, but now the contacts and calendar are in the Blackberry which was the goal.

  • Transfer of Smartphones from blackBerry Palm T3 to the BB Bold, any who have done this?

    I have a Palm T3, and I bought a BB "BOLD".

I have installed the Desktop Manager 4.7 and tried to transfer my address book and calendar from my Palm T3, but it does not work.

Anyone know if it is possible, from Plam T3 to BB Bold?

There are two ways to achieve this.

    (1) use the device switch Wizard in Office Manager.

    (2) synchronize your Palm with Outlook, then synchronize Outlook with your BB using Desktop Manager.

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to disable internet via the network, but leave the wi - fi on?

    Hi all

I'm new to Blackberry but love until now.  I have a questionette for you to wizzo on something that left me speechless:

My rate is not all internet at all (I'm only a poor pensioner!), but it seems that installation is there for me to use it if I do not pay attention if I want to turn it off permanently while installing wi - fi on.  This was possible on my android, but I gave to my wife because the screen is not too sensitive to my skin.  I got the Blackberry the the guy in the store where I bought it, but all he has done is disable data completely so now I can't use it on WiFi either.

Can you tell me if this is possible and if so, how?

    Thanks in advance.

As long as your data Services (under manage connections > Mobile Network Options) are lit, you will receive data via Wi - Fi.  When you turn on your Mobile network, you are turning ON the ability to receive calls and texts.  If you do not require these two features to be active (and therefore guarantee 100% that you use not any network data), then let your off Mobile network.  As you said, leaving the disabled Mobile network is similar to airplane mode.

I hope that clears up any confusion.  Please post back if I'm not understanding something.

  • Transfer photos directly from Palm Centro on microSD?

    Hey everybody!

I have a Palm Centro, through Verizon Wireless, and I am very overwhelmed by everything that makes this phone. Its very cool though.

My question is, is it possible to transfer photos and videos directly from the phone to the microSD card? I couldn't understand it at all.

    Thank you!

    Easy!

Open the application pictures and videos, press the Menu button, select "copy to".

In the next window, press to select each photo you want to copy to your SD card.  A sign (+) is displayed on each one that select you.

Press the "Copy" button on the bottom of the screen.  You will then be able to select "copy items to:" (select "SD card") and then any album you want. "

Press the button 'Copy' again when you have made the destination and choice of the album and they're going to duplicate it on the map!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Enterprise activation screen appears when the unlocking device...

It started to happen about 6 of my users. When they unlock their 8900's that the Enterprise Activation screen appears (with no informed information) run us BES5.0 and these devices have been activated for at least 12 months. No money changers have been made to the server or policy in more than a month. Everyone knows this? Obviously all what they need to do is to close it, but then it comes back the next time that they unlock the device. Thanks, Edd...

I just found this course to blackberryforums, it seems that a reactivation of the unit does not seem to solve the problem... I'll give it a try later today if I have time, TGIF!
