transfer of office dead win8 win7 portable

Recently an upgrade from Windows XP to win7, everything goes well until they had obtained start-up problems. Started doing backup of disks, got almost at the end of the 80 per cent when the computer went into recovery and then stop. Tried to turn on had screen black, red and green lights are on and green blinking on the DVD drawer, which does not open when you press the button. If I buy a new computer how do my files transferred to computer broken on a new laptop with windows 8 on it.

Can I use part completed backup of disks, or some how link the two?

Not geekie in shape in any way.

You remove the hard drive from the defunct machine and connect it to the new computer via a USB interface...

You can use an adapter like this...

http://www.TigerDirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3276554&CATID=3770

Or you can purchase a speaker like that...

http://www.TigerDirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2300574&CATID=2781

Or the other of the foregoing will get basic access to everything that is on the disk.

You will also need to get permission to access older files. To do this easily, you install a small utility that will give you the permissions...

http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/add-take-ownership-to-Explorer-right-click-menu-in-Vista/

It is a partial screenshot where to search the site above for the utility

When you run the zip file, it places a new item in the right click menu called 'Take Ownership'

To use it, you highlight the file or the folder on which you want the property, right click and select take ownership.

Then a window will appear and many data authorizations through pretty quickly. When permissions have been granted, the window will close and you will be able to easily access data in the file or the first selected folder...

  • Can I transfer a computer dead for a portable Win 7 Home premium OEM Windows XP?

I can only remote access / VPN my workplace of servers (Cisco), using XP & I can't download XP mode with Win 7 home premium. The XP box is dead since March, & it's the only way I can think to restore my ability to work from home.

How is it, you can only use Windows XP to access the VPN?  Cisco came out with Windows 7 and 64-bit software customers just now because so many people had the complaint of the old clients did not work.

Anyway - OEM licenses are tied to the first machine that they were installed on.  Regardless if this machine was used in a shooting Skeet or succumbs to a natural death, according to the agreement, if the original machine dies (cannot be retrieved), then the license also dies.

I watch (or find work to examine) get the latest version of the Cisco (5.0.07.0290) client, if that is the question.  Or you can locate an unused OEM or an unused license Windows XP retail and use VirtualBox to make a virtual machine on Windows 7.

  • V. Win8 Win7?

I'm not an early - adopting.  I use desktop and laptop, no notebook, and I have no interest in touchscreens.

Therefore, as I think to replace my old hardware, I intended to order instead of Win8 Win7, Win7 is available.  (I know: the window closes, no pun intended.)

I assumed that Win7 is more stable.  And of course, Win7 has a look that I'm used to and comfortable with.

But a recent comment by a user in another thread makes me wonder...  Is unstable or unreliable Win7?  What Win8 "more fully cooked?

I think the difference between Excel 2007 and Excel 2010.  XL2007 seems to be "wobbly", almost a prototype for XL2010, while XL2010 is the "fully cooked" version  (A MVP offered this same analysis.)

Is true even of Win7 ("wobbly"?) and Win8 ("fully cooked"?)?

With Win8 radical change in the GUI, I thought that the reverse could be true.

    Comments?

I'll buy just my personal experience rather than conjecture.

I got your desktop Windows 7 since its launch in 2009. I found that it is stable and without major problems.

I got a Windows laptop, 8 for about a month now. I'll be honest and say it takes some getting used to, but when you've worked out how to access things, in general, its OK. Some of the things I like are:

-quick startup time (5-6 seconds for mine).

-the availability of the applications via the Windows store.

What I don't like so far Windows 8, it is that some applications, including Microsoft ones like the Mail application, seem to have take simplicity and UI own one not too far away. There is plenty of room for some additional icons for things like printing, but instead, you will need to do this via the charms bar or a keyboard shortcut.

Although, I have been using Windows 8 for a lot less time that Windows 7, he only gave me reason to believe that it will be not as stable... Well not yet anyway!

  • Can MacBook with dead partition Win7, I transfer license to a new PC without installation disc?

So, a few months ago I put Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit on a Boot Camp partition on my Macbook. This laptop is dead now, and I'm building a new office.  My question is, since I have lost or misplaced my installation DVD (non - OEM), how could I go to transfer that license to a new PC? I have the CD key and license info off a hard drive of the laptop using Magical Jelly Bean, but now I need to figure out how to get windows on my new PC. Is there a picture of official Microsoft win7 disk, can I use, then enter my existing license key? If I'm screwed? Is this what I need to be wary of switching licenses?

  • Problem with transfer of Adobe Standard XI of portable windows 8 to my new office windows 7

I'm frustrated. I got on my windows laptop for XI Standard Adobe 8, so I disabled it. Then I installed the Adobe Adobe Standard XI site on my new windows 7 desktop computer. When I had finished, he said that my serial number was incompatible to my version and it would not give me the option to upgrade to Adobe Standard XI (only version X or more). I tried the serial number on most of the available options, but none worked. What should I do now?

My programs, equipment and existing drivers will work on Windows 8?

Most of the applications and designed for Windows 7, hardware drivers or later should work with Windows 8. Of course, with significant changes expected in Windows 8, it is preferable to that contact the software developer and supplier of equipment for the support for Windows 8. Windows 8setup will be keep, update, replace, and may require that you install new drivers via Windows Update or the manufacturer's Web site.

If you go to view all bookmarks (Ctrl + Shift + B) or:

    • Bookmarks > show all bookmarks

There should be an option to "import and backup". You can export your bookmarks to an HTML element and save the file wherever you want. You can then import this file in Firefox on your new laptop computer.

My drive hard main default to loading windows so I have installed on another hard drive and still have access to the files on the old HARD drive then, how can I transfer my story of my old HDD to my new conversations?

The only file you need to transfer is the main.db database file.

On your 'dead' drive, you should find this file in:

    Z:\Users\your username win\AppData\Roaming\Skype\your Skype name.

Transfer this file to the folder corresponding to the new disk.

Don't forget to replace the main.db file newly created by the copied file.

Also make sure that Skype is totally turned off when you transfer this file.

  • problem with Office 2007 x61T Win7 RC

Some elements (Word, Publisher, PowerPoint) have stopped working.  I tried to repair, uninstall, re - install and nothing works.  I got to work (2 days ago) so other computer scientists could try.  It worked, but now the problem is back.  At that point, we thought that the problem could be the need to log out and log in as administrator...

    Help would be appreciated.

"Microsoft Office Word has stopped working"

First patch available online in several places:

"Start button / all the Programs/Accessories/run and type"regedit"and then follow the path HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Office/12.0/Word.

. . . .  and then change the folder "data" to "olddata" and the folder named 'options' to 'oldoptions '. The
Technology says that Word then creates new files to replace. Yes, it worked. Hope this helps.

Registry patches has not worked for me.

    Second solution:

After reading the printer problems, I thought that maybe my laptop (with Win7) that are likely to be confused relating to the default printer as it is moved between networks often - especially because it appears that Word will attempt to locate the printer BEFORE loading.

So I changed to a default printer that is always available (send to OneNote) and the problem is solved.  If you have Adobe Professional installed, it's a default printer, too.  Otherwise, try Microsoft Document Writer.  You can still select a connected printer when you are ready to print your document.

As the problem has also affected Publisher and PowerPoint, they are also repaired.

I wonder if this error has been reported on computers that are frequently not moved?

Can move you to a new Windows 7 computer

If it's a full license or upgrade retail - Yes. You can move it to another computer as long as it is installed on a single computer at a time (and if it's a Windows 7 Upgrade version the new computer must have its own qualification license XP/Vista/7). The previous installation of Windows 7 on the old computer must be formatted or deleted. You will have to perhaps call Microsoft and explain what happened to complete activation. Turning it on the second computer will automatically be in effect 'disable' the license for the first computer. The key works with 32 and 64 bit, but can only be installed at a time.

If it's an OEM license - don't. OEM licenses, including Windows preinstalled on a computer before purchase and Windows purchased separately, are related to the first computer, they are installed on and cannot be transferred to another computer. To install Windows on another computer, you will need to buy another copy.

If you have important files on the desktop, save them first:

Back up all your files and settings to avoid losing documents, photos and other information. Windows Easy Transfer is a free tool to copy files (not programs) from your PC and then transfer back after installation of Windows 7. If you don't want to use Windows Easy Transfer, you can copy your files to a Flash DRIVE or CD/DVD. Note: The easy transfer will not work when changing languages, or when moving from 64 bit to 32 bit (it will work ranging from 32-bit to 64-bit).

  • WIN8 > WIN7

I had about enough of the POS, also known under the name of WIN8. I have a unused win7 pro licence and wish to wipe the slate clean and install it on my X 230. However, it raises the question, is there a unique collection of drivers for this machine for W7?

I don't want to spend days, looking for software to mount the machine and running when the conversion is completed.

    Any suggestion is appreciated!

Yes. Two actually, both available on the Lenovo support site.

    1. system update. Download and install this utility after installing Win7. Let him determine what you need, then download and install for you.

    2. matrix of device driver. Use this page to find and download device drivers and ThinkVantage utilities you need.

Of course 1. is much easier than 2.

  • Office 2013 on Win7 using bootcamp has delay time

I use Win 7 teacher on a piece of Macbook Air 2014 with bootcamp 5 and MS Office 2013. Up to 4 weeks everything works well, and the performance was great. And then I got the delay time:

-Closing remarks is the longest in about 4-5 sec

-editig one Excel cell and switch to another will cost about 4 to 5 sec

    - and so on

Thanks to this performance, it is horrible to work. I have also removed Office and install it again without any result.

Anyone have some advice for me? Is there some patches in which software never cause this?

Or am I alone with this?

    THX in advance

    Frank

Your is no longer in a Mac environment, if this side of "windows" because you're not virtualize, you run Windows as a complete solution for Windows. OS X doesn't play not any part of your experience. Windows as OS X should be updated with patches and update securities, the latter is the only support Windows offers for Version 7, it is out of development and was removed by Microsoft for more than a year. All compatibility fixes should come from Microsoft, see microsoft.com for the availability of these.

Outside the correction and the issues pourraient be caused by:

Disk fragmentation that is common in windows. (However it is not under OS X, don't defrag on Mac, OS updates will do everything if it you better than anything you can buy)

Font management (again, on the side of 'Windows', your OS X fonts do not play in this)

  • Slimline Office 260-a020: Win7 on a Win10 computer: warranty and HP Support Assistant

About ready to take my new machine to & Geek Squad to pay $100 to the level of Win10 to Win7 (got new drive Home Premium & key, also downloaded 7 and make an ISO image in the hope of saving hours install all updates when I thought I was going to do it myself and try).  Two questions:

This isn't a return to upgrade Win10, this is a native Windows 10 machine. Is this likely to void my warranty?

And I'll always be able to use HP Support Assistant, or he's going to focus on my system and say

"OMG, this crazy needs new drivers" and then send me Windows 10 drivers thinks that his place on this machine?

    Hello:

It is a peer to peer forum, so we can only give you our unqualified opinion about warranty information.

It used to be written information online on warranty information.  I can't find anything relevant to your question more.

From what I read in the past, you will cancel the software warranty as you install an operating system not supported.

This means that if you have a problem with Windows or the programs installed on the PC, HP will be asked to reinstall W10 before moving on to troubleshoot the PC under warranty.

Install W7 should not void the warranty of equipment.

I do not use the HPSA myself, but it does not scan your PC and recommends W10 drivers.

The safe thing to do would be to have it notify you of updates but not automatically install the.

Do not leave it on autopilot (automatically download and install updates).
