Transfer to install again SSD HD and new motherboard

Hi all!

I'm about to finally take the plunge and install a fast SSD on my PC as well as a few other updates (specifically, card motherboard, RAM and CPU). To get the most out of the SSD, I would spend my Win7 OS installation (ideally, installing new but holding to my files).
I'm just wondering the best way to do it because I'm worried microsoft key that I think I'm installing a new PC (because of the new material) and gives me an error because she thinks I'm trying to install on two computers at the same time (when it's actually the same computer and I'm just moving disk hard/change of motherboard). Should I install the new SSD before the change of motherboard, remove the old installation of hard drive manually and then install the new motherboard, or is there a cleaner way to do this?
Sorry for the confusing situation, thanks in advance for any advice.

Allows the first contract with license.

The license of Windows 7, you have now that you intend to transfer, done preloaded with the old motherboard that you will replace or is it a license purchased in full retail store?

If it is a license that came with the older motherboard, you cannot transfer, because his attachment to the older motherboard.

If it is a full commercial license, you can transfer and to reactivate it by phone.

So, now that the set, lets assume its full of detail.

I install the motherboard, install the SSD then continue to reinstall Windows 7 by using the original installation media on the SSD drive.

Yes, don't worry if you migrate to the same operating system (Mac or Win).

    Catalogue conversion works well.

If you plan to migrate to another computer, you need to transfer your image files as your catalogs, which means that you can use the backup and restore method:

Organizing moving items catalogue | Elements 6 or later version

When you use this method, the restore process recognizes if the database version is the same. If it is newer, it invites you to convert the catalog after the restoration.

To transfer the software elements itself, you will need to:

-Use the Help menu > disconnect deactivate your license from the old computer

    -Reinstall the software

-use the same menu to sign with your product license key.

  • Windows 8.1 OEM key and new motherboard

My laptop was broken so it's under waarranty and they changed the motherboard and now I want to activate my windows 8.1 upgrade to 10 but I n t have the oem key, and that key is not in the bios becaut now, I have a new motherboard.

How can I activate my windows again?

    Hello

Sorry to hear that Atrium... obviously service agents forgot to update the Windows key after the replacement of the motherboard.
As far as I know the key OEM activation process must be done before performing the recovery process...

What shall I say I see no other way to communicate with the service in order to solve this problem... once more talk to the guy and I'm sure they know what to do

  • Will I need to re - install Win 7 after the new motherboard

I have a 'new' machine unfortunately screwed up. (It is refurbished, but many questions).

I probably get a new motherboard. The technology will be able to transfer the credentials to Win 7. I ask because on the Thinkcenter and my Y480 I reinstalled Win 7 NINE times and have now good things.

Basically, I really want to start rebuilding this machine with a lot of software, but if I have to reinstall after the new motherboard Tuesday I could wait as well. :-(

    DRM for pointers.

For anyone following the answer is NO (less if done by the engineer).

I asked support if the engineer should be port on my serial number for the new Board of Directors (Windows now finds the system not on a sticker card serial numbers). I was told 'no '.

Of course, the engineer DID. My data has been flashed to the new Commission and Windows never saw a difference.

Another wasted a few hours back up things.

  • Transfer of data from the old and new Mac

Hi folks, I'm acquires a new iMac, PC (with Retina 4 K display 21.5 inch iMac) to replace my current iMac (21.5 inch, mid 2010). I sold my existing iMac and will have to ship power off before receiving the new unit, ergo, I won't be able to use the method of transfer of my data from the old to the new Mac.

Accordingly, I am looking help form to advise me how can I do to preserve my existing Mac data so that I can install on the new Mac. In addition, how to delete all my data from the old Mac but preserve the OS X (El Capitan) and relevant applications.

All of the advice and recommendations will be greatly appreciated

    1. create a Time Machine backup or clone bootable on an external drive, and then migrate your data from it.

    2. you need to remove El Capitan of the old Mac before send you it off and return it to the most recent of its original operating system or 10.6.8.

  • ENVY TouchSmart 15 t-j100 - install again SSD

In the past, I have improved the internal system disks several times, and eventually I hope to upgrade to an SSD on the HP ENVY 15 t-j100 TouchSmart Envy (I've seen a 15 "EVNY with a SSD option).

I don't really like on a recovery partition, I prefer a clean install of Windows 8 standard.

The support provided with computers laptops HP there all the installation programs that are necessary to perform this operation manually, without using the HP recovery app? In other words, Windows, drivers and any software supports the TouchSmart feature so that I can install them manually?

If not, can we do the HP recovery for a smaller than the original HARD drive SSD? I see mixed messages in the forums.

    Thanks, Jeff

    banhien,

I read the documentation PDF and HP asks us to create a recovery disk. I wasn't sure if this programs installation contained I could manually use to install on a clean install Windows 8. It seems that it's not possible. Thank you.

    Paul,

Okay, it seems therefore that HP is only what is actually a factory of the OS and software reset, and you confirm that the SSD must be equal or superior to the original size. This is similar to what I've read elsewhere on the forums. I don't think I can afford a SSD that big, so it seems I have to do a clean install and download the necessary software.

I realize why companies it like HP, it's because it's a headache to support otherwise. However, I wish they would provide only Windows 8 and other installation programs for the sake of the DIY crowd:-some of us are comfortable, installation systems and do not expect HP support to bail out us if spoil thanks.

    And thanks for the links.

  • Hard drive Windows 7 to transfer to the new motherboard without reinstalling

    Hey all -

So, my goal is to transfer my old hard drive to a new motherboard without reinstalling my OS. I heard that it is possible, but difficult.

If I find it's too intimidating, anyone know how I can do to reinstall my windows 7 if I don't have an installation disc? I got it through the .edu email and I don't know that I have the original installation file, is it possible for me to re - download without paying again?

Install everything on the new motherboard, and then turn it on.  It should be like Windows Vista, it will take some time to sort itself, go online to get drivers etc (so ensure you have the new drivers for motherboard on hand like LAN, graphics etc. where it cannot find them online), but you shouldn't have to reinstall.  You will have to reactivate.

  • Using Recovery CD to install on SSD

As I think about it, can I use the recovery disks that I did do a clean installation of the system on my new drive Crucial M4 256 mSATA? The necessary driver for the SSD will be available on the recovery CD? I would leave just the original SATA 500 GB during the installation disc.

I cloned the original disc, which included the recovery partition. This allows to do a clean install of the system?

Sorry to have so many questions.

    -Steve

    Hi, Steve

You should not have problems with one of these roads, although I would try the recovery discs myself. If you install the SSD drive and remove the HARD drive and make sure that all of the settings in the BIOS are correct, then you should be able to boot from the disk and load the files on the SSD drive recovery and make sure your C:\ drive.

The cloning method should also work if you do not want to use it. You will need to access the recovery on the new disk partition and run the recovery software, but disk method should work fine.

    It will be useful,

  • Adding an SSD to a new XPS 8900 - the games begin

I recently bought a new 8900 XPS of Costco. I bought an Intel SSD 240 GB 535 and wanted to use it as a boot drive and I was going to format and use the 1 TB came with the PC as a storage device. Initially, I cloned the drive OEM to the new SSD. This worked not so great - slow time - about 35 seconds of startup.

I did a clean install of Windows 10 and tweaked the settings of the UEFI. Computer started without the OEM disc hung at this stage. Current start time is about 26 seconds. A little more than 18 seconds of playing with BIOS/UEFI. None of the changes to the BIOS seemed to make any changes. I was going to live with that, but I have 2 laptops to win 10 that are to start in 11 seconds and 8 seconds. I had just about everything responsible for appropriate programs.

Then, I started with the hanging OEM drive and the boot SSD drive. I went to the OEM drive format and startup I'm met with screen ePSA error error Code 2000 - 0723 - hard disk - drive detected... (which apparently is not a code that recognizes Dell?) Continue to hit, I'm on the desktop. I already had the installed Intel SSD Toolbox and optimized the SSD drive. I did a quick diagnostic analysis on the SSD and it reported no problem.

Restarted the PC and press F12 to run the tests in the Dell Diagnostics. I now see an error code 2000-0142. It indicates there is a hard drive with the new SSD failure. I have restart beyond the error message and make the Intel Full diagnostic Scan. Intel shows no problem. Hmm? I turn off the computer and unplug the SSD and starting on the OEM disk. I get the same screen ePSA that already displayed, press to continue and I'm at the office level. Reboot, then run tests, the hard drive now and it passes all other tests. I turned off the computer, removed the power cord, the CMOS battery and the power button. Back together and clear the log files. I'm met with the same screen ePSA error code 2000-0723.

I have an another SSD - 240 GB of SanDisk. I unplug the drive OEM and plug Intel and SanDisk. I cloned the Intel on the SanDisk and only to the SanDisk card. Same screen ePSA opens, but now the diagnostics Dell passes all the tests. I run the Intel driver update utility, which displays no update. Device Manager displays all operational systems.

If you have done so far, I appreciate it. :-)

    Questions-

Reference Dell sees something he does not like with the Intel SSD, but Intel said it works fine. I could return it, but I think that there is nothing wrong with the hard drive. I don't know what to do next.

How can I get rid of the warning of the ePSA? It appears little matter what hard drive boots.

Is there an other BIOS/UEFI which is available? I've pretty much exhausted the changes and 18 seconds a looong time appears.

    Thank you!

SSSANTI - good news! error code 2000-0723 has gone through an update of the bios dell version 2.1.3. Check the support page for the download file.

A word of warning - update not gotten too smooth I would have thought. I ran the exe of the BIOS and let it do its thing - when he finished update, the computer is for restarts itself, and it seemed as he took in a loop - it would be marketing and then shout down before the splash screen. He made several times - I almost unplugged the machine. Finally, it starts at the start-up screen and then end the initialization up to windows - everything was fine. I rebooted a couple of times and even made a cold start to ensure there are no problems and everything seems OK.

Disconnected a hard drive test, rebooted and no mistake - FINALLY comes

FYI - it seems that it starts a little faster.

Hope this bios update resolves your problem as well.

  • The CC CC cleanup tool remove from my computer and allows me to install again on a new computer?

The CC CC cleanup tool remove from my computer and allows me to install again on a new computer? I fear that Adobe's going to think I always CC on the computer and not allow me to install (it's the second machine I use on my driver's license). It's a working machine and it will disappear while I'm away from the office, so I only have a possibility to get this right.

    Hi John,.

You can use the CC cleaning tool to remove CC apps to your current machine, but do not forget to disconnect from them before uninstalling.

Connect and disconnect activate Cloud Creative applications

Once you disconnect, it will disable the CC of the current computer and then you can activate it on the new machine.

    Kind regards

Yes, you can use cc on your new mac.

Just install the application of cc on your new computer, apps download Adobe Creative Cloud desktop | CC free trial Adobe

Use the desktop application to install your programs of cc.

as mentioned above, you should logout of your desktop or laptop computer to connect to your new computer (and you will need to connect to install and use your cc programs).  but you can leave cc installed on all 3 of your computers and log in for 2 of the 3 when you want.
