  My internal DVD drive is faulty and continues to make noise as if a disc is stuck in there. The noise stops when the computer goes into mode "Eve".   I also have a toshiba qosmio e10 notebook. I had problems with it as well lately.

  First it started with a slow start, and then at some point I started having error messeges.
  When I called the toshiba Helpline advises him to do a check disk. I did this and the problem is still involved.

  Now also the hard drive constantly makes noise, but once the computer was successfully loaded its usually very well, it's just starting. A similar thing experience?
  What is the best thing to do?

  The check disk (HARD drive) will not solve all problems, but this tool report some errors and problems with the HARD disk.
  You sounds description as a HARD disk failure.
  Maybe it's a beginning of the end of s.

  1 disc

  2. power supply

  3. CPU cooling fan

  4 bezel Digital video (if equipped) cooling fan

  5. exhaust fan back

  Use a rod of wood dry to stop the fan for a few seconds.  If the noise goes away, then you have found the problem.  Wrap a piece of paper, so you can use it as a megaphone.

  I have a P100-465 running XP Pro top. I've had the laptop about 6 months now and the only thing I noticed about this laptop is that it's SO noisy. When you use the laptop, the fans come on and goes off constantly... even if I'm not hungry for resources. is this normal? I understand that the machine is powerful, but I can't believe that this is normal.

  I use to have a P25-S670 and fans use to come every now and then to keep the freshness of the machine, but this new laptop is INCREDIBLY annoying. As I type this the fans turn on and off every few seconds. Looks like fans RPM increases significantly, but only for a second or two, then it goes down. In the BIOS, I even put the option for silent mode instead of the performance mode, but this made no difference. I'm running the latest drivers and firmware.

  Can someone help please it makes me NUTS! ;-) Is there a way to control the fan speed and noise Windows? I remember my P25 I could change the power in silent mode options and it made quite a big difference.

  already cleaned your cooling system? Maybe this could be the point because these small ventilation systems are likely to be clobbed by the dust after a while of running.
  One idea would be to give your machine a technician and ask him to clean your machine and put a new grease cooling on the CPU.

  That should help prevent your machine from overheating or excess of fan noise.

• Satellite L300 - transformer power supply makes light rattling

  Hi, thanks for reading.

  Recently, I noticed that when my laptop is connected to the power supply, the transformer makes a slight sound of rattling, just loud enough to be heard on a movie running at full volume, but not loud enough to be heard unless you look for it.
  The click is sporadic and does not seem to relate to what is happening on the laptop.
  I said it could be an overheating problem, but I've had the laptop for a couple of months and longer, I have instructed to at the same time is 8 hours.

  It doesn't seem to be any negative effect on the computer, but it made me a little worried.

  Today, I turned on my laptop, got into windows, started working when my laptop makes a funny sound, like a noise a little whoosh, n thn froze my pc!   It seems that if your hard drive has failed. Check in your BIOS during the initial POST to see if the drive is correctly recognized.

  You can try to restore the hard disk from the recovery CD (just boot from the recovery CD and follow the prompts on the screen) but this will erase all your personal data and programs that you can have installed and restore your laptop to its State.

  If you still have problems then I think you need to replace the hard drive and reinstall your system.

  I had a problem with irritating noise since getting my A60. Whenever I start one of the games I have installed on the laptop the sound effect Manager always changes the setting 'Career' and I have to minimize the game and restore manually. It is done just with this one game here and it seems to change career as soon as the game is loading. He never does that at the launch of another program. I tried to reinstall the game, but it makes no difference.

  I got Equium with true surround sound XT model. I bought external speakers with a sub. The problem is that the sound that comes out is poor.

  My speakers are good coz I tested on my dads laptop computer and it was perfect and strong. The bass level is so quiet and the sound itself on my laptop and I don't know what to do to amplify it upward.

  All parameters including those on the speakers.
  Can anyone help?

  Equium notebook series has four different a notebooks. It will be interesting to know is you. Tell us a little more on the OS you are using. Is this recovery or your own installation image?

  My speakers make a horrible noise slope high when the laptop is plugged into AC power, but not on battery power. It happens through my integrated sound card, my soundblaster card external as well as the headphones on both ports, and they have all the latest drivers anyway, so the problem is elsewhere. Noise appears on the windows out vague, i.e. all inhibition does not, nothing 'generates' sound as a program that runs in the background.

  I guess it's a kind of interference, but I'm a software guy, I don't know about these sorts of things.

  I doubt that the software could cause this kind of thing, looks like it could be a problem of ground or a component of the motherboard.

  I take it to a service center and get them at a glance.
